I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi group!Little trouble here. We are trying to enable VT-x technology on our M93z AIO and can't seem to get a straight answer. Is this even possible? We've tried every possible BIOS update. Nothing appears to be working. Maybe someone here can help. Thank you!

Sorry and we may have forgotten to mention we are using Windows 7 enterprise.

Every now and then, the screen for my M93Z will become very fuzzy and the colours will skew towards green(ish). Sometimes, temporarily shutting off the screen fixes the issue, sometimes even switching between programs helps (if say one program was a full screen isntance and then the screen goes completely black while switching). Any idea how I can solve this? I am wondering if it's an overheating issue, a graphics issue, or a driver issue... Next time it happens I will take a picture and try to upload it on to here... I tried to screen shot it when it happened but the screenshot picture looks normal :/

So it is an all-in-one, so that is already 1 monitor. On top of that I would like to add 2 more 27" monitors, making a total of 3. Is that possible? I tried it, but it doesn't recognize the 3rd. I think it might be the outlets that are screwy. The VGA doesn't seem to work well.

I've had the ThinkCentre M93 since July 2014. I run it constantly and have only shut it down a dozen times. When I first went to restart the computer, it only got as far as the Lenovo splash page. It would freeze, I would hold the power-on button for seven seconds, it would shut down. Doing this three or four times, and finally it would start windows and I could use the pc again. Suffice it to say, because of this problem, I rarely turn off the machine.A couple of times I used the OS Recovery Disc that I got with the pc purchase. My Dell XPS 8500 has an MSATA slot in which I have a 64 gb msata board which acts as the system and boot drive. I have just purchased a 128 gb msata board I want to install in place of the 64gb unit. My system also has a 1 tb main hard drive.
I have tried a system restore DVD and Back/Restore, neither has worked at all. All I want to do is find a way to do a complete copy of the 64gb msata now installed and then replace it with the 128gb unit and copy over all of the data that was on the 64gb one. This way all I have done will be to have more storage available on my system drive, the msata drive.

Any help much appreciated.

thanks,
Michael

A:How can i copy the system from my 64gb msata to a new 128gb msata?

Hi and welcome to the SevenForums!

One solution I can suggest to this is to use imaging software to create an image of your current Windows installation. Acronis True Image is one of the popular ones on here, but there are other programs that can do it such as Macrium Reflect.

I'll be getting a new laptop soon and I'm wondering what the differences are between these two SSDs. I'll probably be putting them in a Sager NP9377 from xoticpc.com. Both SSDs cost the same price but the Samsung 850 EVO has 120 GB vs Micron M600's 128 GB (both for $100) or Samsung 850 EVO with 250 GB vs Micron M600 with 256 GB (both for $160). I know it's a small difference but this is my first experience with an SSD so I just want to make sure I make the right decision. I'll be putting the OS on the SSD so what capacity do you recommend? Thank you.

I'm trying to find out if I can get a digital surround sound output from my M93z. As far as I can tell there is only one digital audio output native on this PC - the DisplayPort audio connection.  This shows up as Intel HD Audio in the driver list.  I am running Windows 10 x64 and have updated all of the drivers and utilites from Lenovo using their tools. I have had my DisplayPort connected to my TV through the Lenovo supplied DisplayPort to HDMI dongle.  I recently purchased an HDMI audio extractor, one with a switch where you can have it request the PC to provide it with 5.1 audio output.  Even with the TV disconnected from the audio extractor the PC sees the audio extractor device, so this should eliminate the TV from the setup. I know that the PC will only output the audio format that it has to play from a particular program.  However, when I go to Playback Devices and check the properties of that audio connection it states that the maximum supported channels is 2.  I would expect that if everything is being detected correctly that it would state 6 or 5.1 or something like that. (Yes, I realize there are other options to try and get this to work.  Before anyone suggests to purchase a USB sound card please try to answer my question below or help solve my problem.  Changing to a USB sound card is not what I'm asking about here.) So my question becomes: Does the Intel HD Audio device that is built into the M93z... We got in office new AIO ThinCenre M93Z. When turning on the PC, there is no noise at all; however after working 2 hours, the noise of fan drives everybody in room crazy. It not so loud, however it sounds like wind around the blocks in autumn and the noise is not at same frequence but always going up and down, depending on speed of fan.We already checked internet for ours, nothing helped. The CPU temperature is about 40 degree celcius. The tool fanspeed cannot detect the fan, in bios we already put to "acoustic" (sounds like a joke for this setting). We would be so happy if anybody could help! For Thinkpads, there are special tools for fan control; however there seems to be nothing for Thinkcenter AIO PCs. If it would be a private PC - no problem to open the case, put better fan inside; however it is new brand new PC from company and we cannot do hardware modifications.

It can't find my moherboard. Throughout the internet I found nothing exept following information:http://support.lenovo.com/en_NZ/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?DocID=HT081544&rd=news The problem for me, I don't know if I really can use this bios. When I search through the driver update page. I doesn't show me the same bios. I'm using at the moment the version "FEKT80A". Could you please tell me if you could solve the problem? Thank you very much

Hi all, We are having issues applying Thinkcentre M93z BIOS update.  The update itself completes successfully but the following reboot produces the error: "Error 0162 - Setup data integrity check failure"?Press F1 to enter Setup, F2 to resume? At this point it doesn?t matter how many times you press F2 you always receive the same error during POST.  The workaround has been to enter the BIOS and press F9 then F10 to save and exit.  Once this has been done the machine boots without displaying the 0162 error.  If we were manually walking around updating the BIOS on each machine it would be less of an issue but since we are carrying out the BIOS updates via SCCM, visiting each machine is not an option.  It doesn?t matter if you apply the BIOS manually or via SCCM, you see the same error.  For reference we are updating to the latest BIOS revision: FEKT50AUS. Any ideas? Many thanks

I'll skip all the backstory and cut to the chase.  Have formatted my hard drive.  I have a Windows 10 USB installer and a DVD installer.  I can boot both of the installers but once Windows Setup loads the keyboard and mouse immediately stop working.  From what I've read Windows 10 has built-in USB 3 drivers - which seems like it is working since Windows Setup is running from the USB thumb drive.  I just can't click Next to proceed with setup since the keyboard deactivated (no Num Lock or Caps Lock).  Keyboard works just fine in BIOS. I don't think Setup is not locking up.  The reason I am at this point is because the keyboard and mouse stopped working in my 8.1 install.  (I could remote control using my remote app, but no local keyboard and mouse).  Was able to upgrade to 10 which worked but still no keyboard and mouse.   Tried different ports and different keyboards. The BIOS does not have a way to disable xHCI on the USB that I could find. Any ideas?

Definitely do not need to install an O/S to it if it's just a storage drive. But you do need to go into Disk Management and Initialize, Partition, and Format it just like any other drive.

Hey,
I have been looking around for information about using a onboard msata ssd as a boot drive for fast start up etc.
I have found information about loading windows directly to this drive (setting this drive as c and lists of ways to move the my music files etc to another partition so that when windows starts it only reads program information. However it sounds as if all or most programs would be saved to the drive not windows only.
Other information has described setting this up as a cache via srt with the cache automatically recognizing whats used most often and storing it there saving the issue of less frequently programs slowing it down.

Does anyone use this system? Do you know of a good msata ssd?
Is it possible to set up a drive as a boot drive and only store windows there?
Can you use onboard msata as a boot drive for windows and another small ssd for srt caching?

Sorry about all the questions a total noob to msata and ssd caching. My mobo will have srt / onboard msata capability and Id like to use it.
If a thread already exists about this please let me know what to search by as I haven't found anything on mSata here.

Thanks

A:W520 mSATA SSD

I'm probably not telling you anything you didn't already know.  The mSATA slot (pci-e) is SATA II as compared ot your 2.5" SSD which is SATA III.  The crucial will have better performace.  I'm not sure how big your HDDs are and how much you store on your computer, but if they are sufficient in size for you I would recommend one of these two options.   1. By a 30GB mSATA and use Intel Rapid Boot Technology to turn your HDDs effectively into hybrid SSD/HDD.   2. Use the $140 to replace one of your HDDs with a 120GB-200GB (depending on how good of a shopper you are). Put your OS and most used programs on it.  Store music, pictures, and less used programs on the HDD.  This option will give better performance than your option 1) and won't break the bank like your option 2).  If you do it right, this will give you just as good as performance as your option 2) most of the time.

Hello finally I got my L440 and made RAM upgrade to 16GB and I also want it to have an SSD. After reading all the manuals and forum messages I think that it have  a sutiable port for an mSATA SDD which will solve my problem in a great way without replacing anything.

My question is, my machine didn't come with an mSATA or WWAN option. While making the RAM upgrade I checked the ports and there is only one seems to be suitable for mSATA but since area is too small I couldn't be sure if it is the one. Can you please check the attachment and tell me if any mSATA will fit in that port? Or maybe it is not for mSATA and I should go with the traditional SSD solutions by replacing the disc?

Thanks

A:msata SSD for L440?

Hi,

According to the Hardware Maintenance Manual, page 70 that slot is for a WWAN card or M.2 SSD.  An mSATA SSD will not fit.

From what I read here in the boards, finding a high capacity SSD in the right physical size is  a problem.  There are multiple sizes - IIRC the 42mm version is used in Lenovo laptops.

Excuse my noobness...

I currently have a Dell XPS 15 L521x with a 32 gb mSATA and 750 HDD. The mSATA is used for Intel's rapid start technology. I've read of various people upgrading the mSATA to a larger size and booting from it. Is it necessary to upgrade the size? Could I boot and run windows off of my current 32 gb mSATA and still have access to the 750 gb HDD?

A:Windows 7 on 32 gb mSATA

Hi clarkpierce!

32GB is way too small for installing Windows 7 there... System + updates + any software + Application data will exceed the 32GB limit very quickly. In my opinion - 60GB is a minimum.

Is it possible to have both an mSATA and HDD drive installed on this device? I recently installed an mSATA with Win10 in to it but now it won't detect the HDD. It's definitely connected correctly as when I unplug the mSATA drive it boots from the HDD just fine. Is there a BIOS update or anything along those lines that will let me use both?

Hello all,Is the Aspire xc-710 compatible with any msata type hard drives? I am struggling with storage space, the two sata ports are occupied by two 3.5" HDD but I want to put ESXi on the box, but I cannot do this without some more storage space. I was thinking maybe i could replace the wifi module with an msata device? Thanks

A:Aspire xc-710 and msata

your model has 2 M.2 ports and one can be used of for a  M.2 2280 SSD.it's near the ATX power connector on the mainboard.

After owning a T530 for exactly 5 years, we've decided to finally put a msata SSD into it. Should have done it sooner, since the prices of msata drives are truly ridiculous nowadays. But as the years went by we've figured we should wait because prices were going to drop. Well, now we know that was a mistake, heh. Anyway, AFAIK if you don't have a WWAN card (which we don't) we can install a msata SSD into the PCI express slot. We were wondering, which type of msata SSD should we buy? Is it an M.2 drive or just plain msata? Is there a difference? We were aiming for a SAMSUNG 850 EVO mSATA 250GB MZ-M5E250BW (http://tinyurl.com/yans5exn) or (if we decide to cheap out) MyDigitalSSD 120GB (128GB) Bullet Proof 4 Eco (BP4e V2) MDMS-BP4e-128(http://tinyurl.com/ycbbt7q7). Would these be ok? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

T530: i7-3630QM, 16GB DDR3-1600, NVS 5400M, 2x1TB 7200RPM, 9-cell, HD+ 1600x900, WinXP Pro/Win7 Pro 64-bit L430: i3-2370M, 8GB DDR3-1600, HD 3000, 750GB 7200RPM, 6-cell, HD 1366 x 768, Win7 Home 64-bit

A:T530 and msata

The slot in the T530 supports mSATA not m.2.  They are not the same.

I'd expect any mSATA SSD to work, but there can always be individual compatibility issues.

Hopefully someone else here has experience with the models you link and can give you a direct answer.

Hello Community, just subscribe to the Forum. I bought one week ago a B580 Notebook with i-5, 1TB, 4 GB and added 4 GB and a 60 GB mSATA.It was configured with Windows 8 and only a big partition for use. The other hidden parttitions belongs to Win8 and LENOVO. First I had to repartition the drive: Using a SW to backup the installation of Win8 to an external drive ( size was appr. 20 GB), with the same tool I deleted the installation and set up new partitions as my house standards (4). Afterwards I restored the Win 8 installation and did an upgrade to Win8 Prof. Those were the simpler tasks. I got a lot of problems as I tried to install SW to use the mSATA drive for acceleration, I spent almost two days to search appropriate drivers at the LENOVO drivers site for B580 and Win8, but none of the available drivers did work (h4iv07ww.exe).Even the BIOS did not show the mSATA drive. To checkout the function of the mSATA I removed the hard disk, installled Win8 Pro to the mSATA. It was working very fast a expected. Setting back the hard drive the notebook did work only with the 1GB drive. Sometimes I could boot from the mSATA drive (F12), but that's not what i like to do - it saves no time during boot! Is there an expert from LENOVO who could help? The Lenovo support on phone was not able to help.

A:B580 mSATA

hi LuigiMunich,

Welcome to the Forums.

Upon checking the specs on the B580 Notebook, there's an optional 16GB or 32GB mSATA SSD that uses Diskeeper's Expresscache software for data caching.

If you have a Sandisk SSD, check these articles:
ExpressCache & IFFS Partition Recreation
ExpressCache software is not installed (this is for Thinkpad units but same aspects applies to Ideapad)

If you have different brand of mSATA SSD, the Expresscache software may not work (haven't tested this yet as there's no available unit here in the lab)

Hope this helps

Hi antonygamal ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Common to the G series (page28), 2.5-inch, 7 mm / 9.5 mm SATA  ? 320 GB / 500 GB / 1TB 5,400 rpm
Product specification:
Some: HDD / SATA 3.0Gb/s, 2.5" wide, 7mm or 9.5mm highSome: SSHD with 8GB NAND ?ash memory
Option for SSD would be replacing the HDD similar to this discussion.
M.2 PCIE slot are electronically available only for WLAN components.

As per benchmark comparison :
Radeon R5 M230  Significantly more memory : 4,096 MB , Higher clock speed 825 MHz
HD 8570M : Significantly better T-Rex score :   1,024 MB , 750 MHz

With the switchable graphics only one display adapter can be used at a time.

Hope this help answer your query.

I have the dell inspiron 15r 7520. I am planning of installing an mSATA drive into the laptop(I'll have to change the daughterboard and in the process of doing the same). So my question is what is the process of making my laptop boot from the mSATA drive and if I'm successful in doing so, will I be getting the genuine windows 8 OS that came pre-installed with my laptop?

A:Boot from mSATA

It could be done but Dell doesn't recommend it. Whether your recovery disks will work, I do not know. You may question this on the Dell forum
