Lenovo H 50-55 Bios password suddenly appears when trying to enter bios. I don't know it.

Q: Lenovo H 50-55 Bios password suddenly appears when trying to enter bios. I don't know it.

I have had this H50-55 for sometime, several years and suddenly it ask for a bios password when I try to enter the bios to change the boot order. I have no clue what it is. I hate passwords and NEVER use one unless forced...What can I do?

Preferred Solution: Lenovo H 50-55 Bios password suddenly appears when trying to enter bios. I don't know it.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Lenovo H 50-55 Bios password suddenly appears when trying to enter bios. I don't know it.

my guess is that your cmos battery died and it wants you to set day/time. There is no backdoor password. The choices are remember the PW or replace the motherboard.

Hello there,I need to change a setting in the BIOS.(intel virtualization technology).I have not put a password in the BIOS since I bought my computer.I am sure. That's why I do not know the code. I tried many passwords I found on the internet. After 3 attempts, I get an error that I need to turn off the computer. It does not give an error code. System-halt says.  Windows 7 64bitBIOS: InsydeH2O Version 03.60.4240CN33WW (V2.19) You can tell me what else to report.Thank you from now.

Hi. I have a Lenovo B50-30 mode 80ES. It was set to require a password on startup starting with a capital "A". While experiencing charging problems, amongst other things, I updated the BIOS to 9CCN35WW, downloaded from the Lenovo support site. Since updating, the laptop no longer asks for a password on startup (No big deal, I applied a windows password), however, when pressing F2 to access the BIOS (which I need to do, the F keys are the wrong way round), it asks for a password, When pressing to strike a capital A, the laptop beeps and doesnt enter it. It wont accept capital letters anymore, therefore it wont accept the pre BIOS update password. I have referred the laptop to Lenovo service, including returning the laptop, and they have been nothing short of useless. They said they couldnt repair it under warranty because of "Marks, cracks, inappropriate treatment" and it would cost 255 for a replacement system board. I really couldnt see why I should pay for an issue created by their support system, so I asked them to return it unrepaired. Upon arrival, the laptop was immaculate, so I dont know what damage they were referring to. Is it possible to downgrade the BIOS to a pre update revision, to change the password and then reset it to one the new BIOS approves of? Thankyou in advance.

I'm having a problem with a Toshiba Satellite L300D. After I reinstalled the HDD it would beep. To solve this I went into BIOS to look and see if the board had some sort of intrusion setting. When I exited the BIOS and restarted I know get the Enter Current Password (with a blue background on a black screen) with continuos beeps. The thing is it seems to auto enter in 10 characters (*) and then stop. There are no other options.

I have searched unsuccessfully for any info about this and I cant even find where the CMOS is located which I think is soldered onto the board.

Has anybody had any similar experience like this?
I would really appreciate any help its driving me crazy.

A:Cannot Enter to Bios Setting in Lenovo B570e !

Hi.Is Windows 8 installed on your machine, or is it running through a USB device? If 8 is installed on your machine, then make sure you do a complete shut down of your machine. To improve boot times, Windows 8 does a hybrid boot, meaning it keeps certain things running. To do a full shut down of the system, you can open Command Prompt and type "shutdown /s /t 0" (without the quotes.) This will do a full shut down (cold restart). It seems whenever you are rebooting/shutting down, it is only doing a warm restart which will skip BIOS.Let me know if I can assist you further,Adam

A:Enter Bios Lenovo Ideapad YOGA 11

Hi coucoune1633 ,
Welcome to the Lenovo Community.
To enter the BIOS , turn off the pc and use the Novo key (item1 page12) to power on .
Novo menu would appear offering BIOS set up (for changing boot options etc. )
System recovery option from one key recovery initial back up would delete everything and restore to factory defaults.
About booting to safe mode:
Since starting with Windows 8 and up , usual F8 on boot is deeply embedded on the recovery making it hard to access.
If Windows cannot boot to a viable stage for to access advance recovery menu :
1. Shift + F8 works on some system , do it at same time you see the lenovo splash screen repeatedly.
2. Forcing recovery mode on windows 8 : turn on then suddenly turn off pressing the power button , then on and off again for 2-3 attempts , Turn on and see if recovery screen would show up for the advance option.
3. Some system have F11 / F12 on BIOS to launch the recovery / boot option
4. Using a bootable media ( USB rescue image often useful for repair / back up  , using Windows media creation tool  )
If Windows 8/10 does not start: (using the command line)
How to boot into Safe Mode from the Windows 8/10 installation media or recovery USB flash drive.

I just want to ask what happened to my Lenovo H30 Slim Desktop. When I plug the cord, it automatically turns on.But it can't boot to Windows OS. It keeps restarting. There is no display on the monitor, just restarting.Sometimes, it shows the loading screen, but then again, it will restart. However, can enter BIOS, as if there's nothing wrong (it will not restart, etc.) I recently updated the BIOS before this happened. And I see that on the operating system on the BIOS File, it says Windows 8.1. I tried booting Windows 10 and Windows 7 from USB, but no luck. I've done these things:1. Swapped Memory Modules2. Removed All Peripherals (HDD, Connectors, etc.)3. Configure BIOS on all possible options (Secure Boot Off, EUFI or Non-EUFI, etc.)4. USB Boot (Windows 7, 8.1, 10)5. Clear CMOS (Via Jumper and Battery)What I did was update the BIOS to 2016 version. However, I used the American Megatrends Utility and Unchecked Capsule something, because it makes error, and I can't update. Please view my video.https://youtu.be/IsF__WINsPQ

I got a new Lenovo G580 laptop which did not come with any pre-installed OS. I installed Ubuntu in UEFI mode (I had not disabled UEFI/Secure Boot). Later I installed Windows 7. During installation it asked me to format the entire format as it did not recognize the GPT partition. Accordingly without thinking twice I erased the entire HDD and installed Windows 7. Now I am unable to enter into BIOS

Things I have tried:
Tried with F2, F1 and Delete keys while booting
Tried removing the battery and booting while pressing the above keys individually
Tried removing the battery and adapter, held the power button for 1 minute
Tried removing the battery and held the power button for 1 minute while the adapter was plugged in
Tried pressing F12 and going to the APP MENU but I can only see "Diagnostic Splash" Nothing else and in that diagnostic splash screen I see that the System BIOS is "shadowed"
How can i gain access to BIOS so I can disable UEFI and install Win 7 and Ubuntu side by side

Hi, recently my wifes Lenovo Z585(AMD APU and GPU) got the superb Windows 10 1803 update and rendered it useless. With Rufus I created a bootalbe ISO based on 1803, downloaded with Microsoft Media Creation tool.I managed to  reinstall it(MBR Partition scheme), but under  installation the screen was completely black! Only managed to read the screen with a flashlight.  After boot, Win10 installed KB4284835 update which was supposed to fix the black screen issue. It did not. Just got worse. It won't even boot now. Tried to boot from a USB Windows 7 ISO. Still have the black screen, barely visible only with my phones flash. Now I removed the HDD and USB stick, but it still can't go to BIOS. If I remove AC Power and battery, sometimes after 30-60 minutes it boots and I can enter BIOS, or install Windows, but always goes back to back screen. Is this an issue with the notebook, or Windows? I don't know how to solve it now. BIOS version is 60CN97WW, the newest as far as I know. Can someone help, please?

3. Check whether the SATA Controller is Compatible or AHCI. If Compatible, force shutdown laptop.

I had a strange set of circumstances today. I was trying to update my memory from 2 to 4g. My system would not boot with the new memory and the bios gave 3 beeps. After removing the new memory, the system would boot to XP but I had no video. I powered down and powered back up. I now had video but the system would hang. In Safe Mode, it would hang after the following entry system32/config/system. Note I never observed any windows error messages, just the hang.

I used the Recovery Console from an XP CD and did a chkdsk /r and chdsk /f
I also ran fixboot

None of these solved the problem.

I then ran fixmbr
Recovery Console displayed some kind of caution message that I had a "invalid" or something MBR and that it might prevent me from access partitions or something.

Well, I ran fixmbr anyway since i was out if ideas.

Now when I try to boot, it is freezing during the post process. When I hit F2 to enter the BIOS setup, it says "entering setup" but it never does. It seems to be hanging right after the drive detect process.
Note I have one standard IDE drive © and 2 SATA drives. Windows XP is installed on one of the SATA drives.

Any ideas? Let me know if you need any more info.

A:BIOS Hang, unable to enter BIOS Setup after running FIXMBR

This sounds more like a BIOS = hardware issue. Since you have been inside the case it is possible something got nudged loose. Re-seat your memory and video card if it is an add-on.

Hi Guys
I restored an image created with Macrium Reflect on my wife's computer (Custom build with Asus P8Z77-V LX mother board) and everything went fine until rebooting when i got to the "Please press DEL or F2 to enter UEFI BIOS settings" then everything stopped.
I have tried F2 DEL F8 F12 just about all the F combinations and nothing works, I have two SSD drives one with Win7 Pro and one with Win10 Pro (not connected at the same time) and neither of them will boot up.
I have tried changing the jumper pins from 1 and 2 to 2 and 3 for 10 sec to clear the RTC Ram in CMOS then returned then to 1 and 2 and tried rebooting...no change so i removed the battery and repeated the jumper pin swap then reinstalled the battery and still no change, cannot get passed press DEL or F2 to access the BIOS settings.
I even downloaded the latest BIOS and updater as shown and put them on a USB flash drive together and tried the Macrium Rescue disk, and still nothing happened and it will not open the BIOS maybe i got it all wrong ?
I was hoping someone here might know how to put it right, i am out of idea's and any help would be greatly appreciated.

So afterward i tried to recover and reinstall my bios but i cant even enter the bios update menu.In the bios recovery manual http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833 it says:With the computer off, press and hold the Windows logo key and the B key at the same time.Still pressing those keys, press and hold down the Power button on the computer for 1 to 2 seconds, and then release the Power button but continue to hold the Windows and B keys until the BIOS update screen is displayed or until you hear a beeping sound (usually 8 beeps). But this isnt working. It only blinks twice continiously but wont boot. Can anyone help me? I cant find further information regarding this issue. I start to get really really annoyed by the problem because sometimes it takes up to 15-20 times to get the laptop running. Best Regards
