How to convert the entire pdf file into word document?

Q: How to convert the entire pdf file into word document?

I am using windows 7 as the OS.
I have installed MS Office 2010 Beta, and having Adobe Reader 9.
I came know how to convert word documents to pdf files using MS Office 2010.
I had seen an article " how to convert pdf files to word documents?" on a site.
The given procedure is, by clicking insert tab in MS office 2010, and then by clicking Object button, and clicking "create from file" tab and then browse pdf file.
I have followed the procedure given. But it is converting only the first page of the pdf file, but not all the pages.
I am here to know "How to convert the entire pdf file into word document" using MS Office 2010 ( without installing any application).
If any one knows how to do that, I request you to give the procedure.
Thanks in advance.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A friend is having this problem at her work that just started recently.

She needs to have multiple Word documents open at a time and when she closes one, either via the shortcut icon or via File - close (not close all), it will close the entire group of Word documents.

I'm not sure what version of Word she has but I think it's 2000.

Any ideas? I can't check for malware because it's a large business and they have an IT department but they are stumped by this as well.

I type a Word document and when I save it the document converts to a pdf.Click to expand...

Then you are saving it incorrectly.
Choose File "save as" and select doc or docx not pdf.

Here is an online converter http://www.pdfonline.com/pdf-to-word-converter/
but it would probably be easier if you opened Office, pasted the pdf into a new doc window and then go through the File/Save As and select doc or docx.

Please help! I have mozilla firefox which uses .pdf for saving any word files. I created a document and I had no option to save it as anything but a pdf file. I need to convert this to a word document asap for work. Somehow when I opened the pdf file in a word format all that comes up is letter, symbols and numbers. My document is not gone but can't be opened in a word format so I can then save it to word. I know I sound illiterate and using the wrong terminology but I'm hoping I gave enough info. Also, when I open the pdf file, my PC only wants to print it. There's no command to close it. When I do try to export the pdf, I get a page that wants me to subscribe to Adobe ID. I already have that but it won't accept my password and keeps emailing me security codes. By the time I get back to enter the code, Adobe ID says that code is invalid and gives me a new one. I'm so perplexed. Why oh why can't there be an easy fix to anything!!!
Thanks in advance.

I have a group of files I created in Microsoft Works 3.0 ( word processing and spreadsheets.) I have the original files on Floppy Disc, Scan Disc, and on my Hard Drive. I have tried coverters, and the best results I have received are partial, or full text with symbols. Nothing with the original documents creation form and font style. I hope someone has a solution to my problem! I have a VBA macro that will automatically open .DOC files, apply some formatting, save it, and continue to the next .DOC file. First of all, my apologies if this topic has been covered in a previous thread. I looked through various threads as well as did a "search", but did not locate one that was on point with my issue.

{I am working on a Gateway Netbook with an Intel Atom processor N270, 250GB HDD, 1G memory and running Windows Vista 32bit. I have (3) internet browsers right now: Internet Explorer, Mozilla FireFox and Google Chrome- I just downloaded FireFox/Google Chrome a couple of days ago. I am trying to figure out which browser works best for my needs but for now, I am running FireFox.}

So, here goes...

I have (4) .wma files that have people being interviewed that make up a total of approx. 6hrs of audio on them. (don't know if that info would even be relevant, but there it is anyway.

I need to, ultimately, have their words typed out in a Microsoft Word Document.

The above is the bare facts. Now...I am, obviously, needing to transcribe these audio files into a Word document (convert the .wma files into text files)

Here's what I think I know thus far...

* This is, virtually, an unobtainable task to accomplish.
* My financial situation will not allow me to purchase any software/products.
* Text files, such as Word documents, cannot be opened by Windows Media Player
* Audio files such as .wma files can ONLY be opened with Windows Media Player and NOT in Word

Here's what I wish to know...

I am trying to attach an xml file to a Microsoft Word document.
I would normally attach a file by selecting Insert > Object, then browsing to the file I want to attach. This works in that it attaches the file I want but when I double click the icon that is created, Internet Explorer opens up and says it cannot display the webpage. The xml file I am trying to attach and open is a chat log from Messenger Live.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to why this keeps happening?

By the way, im aware that the xml chat log references an xsl file, I have removed this reference so at the very least when I click the attachment it should open Internet Explorer and display the file unformatted.

Thank you in advance.

A:converting PDF file to Word Document formant

If its been scanned in as a PDF, then its just a "photo" of the page.

You need to use OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software to convert a scanned image to a document. Such software (Textbridge, Iris etc) usually comes with the scanner, but do not expext miricles with it.

Having the PC decide exactly what part of the scanned image is text, what is an image and correctly decode it to the relevant parts is complex and "consumer variety" OCR is usually less than perfect.

If the PDF is in electronic format (prior to being printed and scanned) software exists that will convert it directly to text (I use Solid Converter PDF) but this approach only works where the person creating the PDF has allowed such activities.

Hi,

I was working on a document that was located in a zip archive. I have 7-zip installed on my computer. I?m running Windows 8. I repeatedly saved the file in Word while I was working on it. However, I?ve since rebooted the computer and my file is missing. All of the ?saves? I?ve made didn?t seem to update the file in the archive. I understand that I should have extracted the file first before working on it; however, I received no prompt from Word 2013 that my saves were not being recorded. Perhaps the file was saved into some sort of temporary folder/file that 7-zip creates/works from.

Are my changes lost permanently? Does there exist a temporary file somewhere with my changes in it?

Thank you. This is a court document and I made substantial modifications to it, and I really need it back.

A:Document Recovery From 7-Zip-Archived Word-File

Success! I ran [email protected] File Recovery (an undelete program) and scanned for the document name. Interestingly, the document name matched the original document name in the archive, and wasn't some random file name like "SHF75J.tmp". I recovered the file to a flash drive. I'm very happy now.

It may be in the drafts folder. This will, by default vary according to which Word version.
But, across the versions, open the Options in Word and find the save option. In the window which opens, it will list your various save locations for the variety of Word you are using.
Alternatively, if you know the name of the file, how about a search?

This is an update of a closed thread... u can see the original here: http://forums.techguy.org/business-applications/856041-solved-word-2007-macro-convert.html

So I've got the macro and it works great -- for converting doc/docx to PDF or rtf. But there are 3 issues that still need to be addressed.

1. I can't get it to work to convert to txt properly -- it gives me an output txt file that includes a bunch of formatting instructions like font, color, spacing, etc.

2. It would be really helpful to get it to create PDF, rtf, and txt files all in the same folders. So for instance, I've got Folder1 and inside that is SubfolderA (which contains A.doc) and SubfolderB (which contains B.doc). I'd like the output to be Folder1\SubfolderA, and inside SubfolderA is A.pdf, A.txt, and A.rtf. SubfolderB would contain B.pdf, B.txt, and B.rtf.

3. So far, 3 other people on this committee have tried the macro on their computers, but it only works on mine (and all 3 of them have checked "Microsoft Scripting Runtime"). And I had to delete all the existing macros in Word to get mine to work -- it seems like I can only have 1 macro at a time. 1 of the computers doesn't do anything when we try to run the macro, and the other 2 give this error: Run-time error '76': Path not found" even though the path in the macro was edited to be correct for that machine. When you run the macro to save the files as text are you changing the actual output format type in the macro? My guess is that you are only changing the portion of the code that replaces the filename extension and not the actual file type. The portion of the code that I highlighted in red below should also be changed to FileFormat:=wdFormatText.

2. It would be really helpful to get it to create PDF, rtf, and txt files all in the same folders. Click to expand...

Are you saying that you want to run the macro one time and have it create all 3 files types at the same time without having to modify the code and change the file output manually?

Anyway, issues 1 and 3 in that thread were resolved w/ the advice that Rollin_Again gave me. Only issue 2 remains:

2. It would be really helpful to get it to create PDF, rtf, and txt files all in the same folders.
Are you saying that you want to run the macro one time and have it create all 3 files types at the same time without having to modify the code and change the file output manually?Click to expand...

Yes... virtually every time we run this macro, we will need pdf, rtf, and txt versions of the original file in the same folder. So if the input file is in FOLDER1 and is named FILE1.docx, then the output folder should also be called FOLDER1 and it should contain FILE1.pdf, FILE1.rtf, and FILE1.txt.

I've pasted the macro below... it looks to me like some portion of the do-loop that creates the RTF file needs to be replicated twice more and each of those replications needs to be modified slightly to create PDF and TXT files.

My operating system is Windows XP, Home Edition.

I was editing a very large document in Microsoft Word and somehow wasn't able to save it and it disappeared leaving in it's place a file called ~WRL3892TMP. I can't open it as it says file not found and clicking on properties tab shows that it's a hidden file. Since I'm unable to open this TMP file, there is no way I can change the file extension from tmp to doc (saw this suggested elsewhere).

I am the only person using this computer so if it's a permissions issue, what do I do? I don't understand "permissions" either. I just want my document back..

Please help!

Can someone give me a code sample to insert a small txt file into a completed document. I have a Word 2000 template with a custom userbox and in one of the fields on the userbox, I want to give the option to insert a very small notepad text file into the document, if that option is selected, and I don't know what the code should be. Thanks.

So I have a batch of about 750 Word documents that need to be converted to RTF. I recorded a macro that looks something like this:

quote:

Sub rtf3()
'
' rtf3 Macro
'
'
Documents.Open FileName:="D:\user\Desktop\test\1.docx", ConfirmConversions:=False, ReadOnly:= _
False, AddToRecentFiles:=False, PasswordDocument:="", PasswordTemplate:= _
"", Revert:=False, WritePasswordDocument:="", WritePasswordTemplate:="", _
Format:=wdOpenFormatAuto, XMLTransform:=""
ActiveDocument.SaveAs FileName:="D:\user\Desktop\test\1.rtf", FileFormat:=wdFormatRTF, _
LockComments:=False, Password:="", AddToRecentFiles:=True, WritePassword _
:="", ReadOnlyRecommended:=False, EmbedTrueTypeFonts:=False, _
SaveNativePictureFormat:=False, SaveFormsData:=False, SaveAsAOCELetter:= _
False
ActiveDocument.Close
It works fine, but there are a couple of problems w/ it. 1, I have to repeat it over and over for each file, and 2, each repetition has to be edited w/ the next filename, the path to that file, and the new filename. I figured out a way to partially automate that process, but it's still a PITA .

Can't I just tell it to get all the .docx files in this folder and all its subfolders and save them as an RTF w/ the original filename?

HELP! My son is distraught! Working in uni library, saved work as word doc. emailed it to himself. Opened it in hotmail account and worked on it for 2 days, saving as he went along (2000 words). Shut down laptop last night and couldn't find the word doc. when opened up this morning. I think he must not have shut down properly previous nights, don't know for sure. All he could find was a short cut temporary internet file showing nothing. He has done a system restore to yesterday evening and two documents that he emailed at same time are showing as recovered in word, he can open the one he doesn't need but not the one he does.
Is there any hope of retrieving it?
I have seen posts on forums saying it can. Following some of the instuctions he can't get very far as 'access denied' message keeps appearing or requests username to be typed into c:/
What is his username?
Please help

A:Can a word document temporary internet file be restored after shut down

Make sure to check "Show hidden files and folders" and uncheck "Hide protected system files" in Folder Options.

Your Word document should be in a temporary folder in the following location:

C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

Substitute Owner for your username (computer).

Run a search on your computer and paste the above location into the Search path, or browse to it, along with the name of your Word document.

Please help point me in the right direction.  I checked the File association on Internet settings and document type docx is associated with Word, but it won't open.  What do I need to change?
I received the following information when I clicked on the troubleshoot link:
Windows has the following information about this Protocol. This page will help

you find software needed to open your file.
Protocol Type: ms-word
Description: UnKnown
Windows does not recognize this Protocol.

Try refining this symptom description.  What exactly do you mean by "it won't open"?  Answering that might explain why you are posting this in an IE forum.  E.g. right-click, Copy Shortcut whatever it is that you are calling
a "broken link" and Paste it here.
Otherwise, try right-click, Save target as... to put the file into your Downloads (Ctrl-j) and then use right-click, Properties to find its
full path and name.  Note that that would be quite different from what the Copy Shortcut step would have shown.
Next I suspect that the Set Associations GUI tool may not be showing you the correct information.  FWIW it certainly doesn't show me the correct information in W8.1.  So, I would try checking if you have an explicit association and file type combination
by using the assoc and ftype commands in a cmd window.  In fact, instead of just showing the ftype for the current association I would use this:
    ftype  |  find  /i  "word"
Then you could take the most appropriate template (not necessarily the one pointed to by the assoc command) and fill it in on a Run... dialog (or a ... Read more
