Q: Wifi and Bluetooth Mouse Issues - Lenovo Yoga 720

Hi all. Nice to meet you. I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 and am noticing two issues. First, whenever I am on Wifi, my connection will occasionally drop and restart. It is becoming a challenge especially during Skype calls and even simple tasks like browsing. My wifi appears to be OK because I have another PC and Mac that does not have any connectivity issues. Is there something I can do investigate and solve this issues?Moreover, I have connected my Microsoft Sculpt Mouse which had worked great on another PC's. While I can connect it with my Yoga, the connection frequently drops and takes a couple of seconds to re-establish itself. If anything, these issues have become a pain. Any suggestions/ideas on how to rectify the situation would be greatly appreciated!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

Recently there was a Wifi Driver issue, which got resolved when the service guy came and replaced it, 6-8 weeks ago. After that my Wifi works fine but has a bit of a performance issue - It takes some time to identify Wifi Networks. If I switch on my bluetooth, the wifi performance degrades more, i.e. more time to identify network and the speeds of download/upload deteriorates a lot (A video in Youtube 720p quality is brought down to 144p).In addition it seems to take a lot of time for my bluetooth to identify a device. Does the Wifi and Bluetooth share the antennas? If so does this mean the antenna have a problem now?Is there a way to troubleshoot this? maybe by checking speed on Wifi and bluetooth.

I odn't have that model, but just in case what you can always try is to get the latest wireless driver, sometimes I have some issues with some older wifi drivers.
 
Check the support site and see if there is a newer driver for the wifi. Check your "WIndows Device Manager" and see the version of the driver you have installed for the wireless adapter.
 
I also like to test the wifi with different routers on some other networks just be sure that is not a local problem of my router too.
 
It is also good the check the maintenance manual of your model to see the cables and the antennas. I'm not sure if that is exactly your model, but it seems it was two antennas for the WAN network and 2 for the LAN. It does not specify anything about the bluetooth.

Reset BIOS Settings to default to remedy a display issue and when I booted back into windows, Wifi and USB were disabled completely along with many other services.  Lenovo chat support suggested they send me the original Windows 8 Pro disc and re-image, or I send it in for repair under the warranty.  Fiddled around some more and fixed the issue. On this model you have to Spam the "Enter" key at bootup to access the Startup Pause Menu and then Press F1 to enter BIOS.   Upon resetting the BIOS to it's defaults the I/O Ports were set to "Disabled".  To remedy this do the following:  BIOS >  Security Tab > I/O Port Access >  "Enable" all fields. This was the quick fix I was looking for and I ended up finding it out myself.  Hopefully, this can help someone else in the future.  I didn't think to look under the "Security" tab in BIOS for port, wifi, bluetooth issues... but now I know.  #KnowingIsHalfTheBattle.  Cheers. -Rahb

Hi I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 and I can't connect to public/guest WiFi. I can connect at home on our private network but at school I click the connect button and my browser will open like it's trying to open the login page but it just loads and never comes up. I tried contacting Lenovo months ago and they said it was something with my school's network but I can't connect to any public networks at all. I know it's not the networks because I can access them on my phone. I also tried contacting IT at my school and they said they couldn't help me because it was my personal device. Any suggestions? Hi, so i got a problem. I got 2. wifi netwrok at home. Both working fine on other devices. But on yoga 910 is like this. I am conected to network 1 (n1) and when i tried to switch to network 2 (n2) i got yellow triangle and no internet connection and vice versa so yellow triangle when try to connect from N2 to N1. Only way to get it work is to disabel wifi adapter under device manager (and right after enable again)and then right click on wifi icon and do troubleshoot wifi.. I got this problem since i set up the second wifi network but since there is no problem on other devices i assume that  is someting worng with my pc.

Hi, I bought a brand new Lenovo Yoga 910 series laptop, costing a fortune. Its not even 20 days since I bought this laptop, I am seeing the wifi adaptor losing the connection within 5 mins of usage. Whats worse, it causing my wifi router to jam as well, and all of my other devices loses connection. I have few other devices, including a lenovo thinkpad, where i never faced any issues till date.  After some research I found out that the wifi adaptor in the lenovo yoga is Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4a  and it has lots of issues on Windows 10 and people are complaining on multiple forums about it since couple of years. Suprising that Lenovo nor Microsoft nor Qualcomm has not fixed it yet or I couldnt find a proper solution till now.  It is such a bad customer experience, that such a basic thing like wifi connectivity is not working properly on such a high end laptop. I feel I just made a bad decision of buying this waste device instead of a Mac book Pro. Hope someone from Lenovo fixes this for me or else I shall return this device.

This is really starting to annoy the hell out of me. I just picked up a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse, the Notebook 5000 mouse to be exact for my home entertainment center.

I have my PC ran to a monitor and a 55 inch Samsung LED LCD TV for watching movies etc. The problem is, the HDMI cord is run threw the wall so the PC is in another room so I cant use the normal mouse on the PC. I bought a bluetooth mouse due to the increased range but I'm having nothing but issues.

I have the Microsoft Bluetooth dongle btw, didn't come with the mouse, the mouse actually comes with no dongle.

Anyway it connects fine but if I stop using it for like an hour or whatever it disconnects and nothing I do will reconnect it unless I take my other mouse, go into bluetooth devices, delete it and readd it all over again.

WHY THE HELL does it keep doing this lol?

It's your dongle. I have the same mouse and it works absolutely fine. I'll bet you have the USB option set to power the dongle down when unused. How's the radio in the mouse supposed to wake up a sleeping dongle?

I recently purchased a P40 Yoga and am happy with it, however I have problem with my Wifi + Bluetooth which I have not had before. I have always used Bluetooth and Wifi together with no problems. THE PROBLEM:When I turn on my Bluetooth, Wifi disconnects immediately. No networks are found anymore.  I have been using the same Wifi connection, so no changes there. I assume this is not an interference problem, because it has always worked great, so it must be a software problem. I also noticed that I have quite a weak connection although I'm close by the router What I have done:- Uninstalled Bluetooth and let windows reinstall- Reinstalled driver for Wifi- Install lastest driver for Wifi from Intel (19.20)- Checked router (channels [due to interference], proximity, etc.) What else could I do?

When bluetooth is enabled on my Yoga 710, I am having severe wifi connection problem, i.e. 95% connection lost, pages load slowly if at all, chrome often crashes. This happens equally when I'm loading pages from the router, so it's not related to internet speeds, etc. I've tried changing the channel of my router from 1, 6, 11, all channel perform the same when bluetooth is enabled. I know my bluetooth mouse is not the problem, rather it's the laptop itself, because, I've tried using my bluetooth mouse on another laptop 3 inches away with no effect on connection to my Yoga. I've tried moving within 1 meter of my router, without improvement of proformance.In short, if bluetooth is enabled, wifi connection is very very poor, if it's not enabled, it's great.I've tried uninstalling the bluedriver, and reinstalling the driver's I found on the lenovo website. This didn't change anything. I've ensured my wifi and bluetooth drivers are all up to date.Perhaps there is another driver I can try?Any advice would be appreciated, I like my bluetooth mouse, and would prefer to keep my 2 usb ports open instead of using a wireless usb mouse, which is what I'm doing now.

Hi guys, I had a Yoga Pro 2 but I got it replaced by Lenovo under warranty because it was having some major major issues. They sent me a Yoga 900 and I am already noticing problems with its connection to my bluetooth mouse. I used this same bluetooth mouse on my Yoga Pro 2 and it always connected fine without any problems at all but with my Yoga 900 it seems that the mouse will be connected for 5 minutes max and then the Yoga 900 will no longer recognize the mouse. Any help is appreciated, this is very frustrating and I have had been having a lot of problems with Lenovo's devices. Their warranty is great but I am getting tired of so many problems for such expensive machines.

Similar problem here.  Yoga 900 just a couple of months old, and I decided to try a bluetooth mouse.  It connected and worked just fine for a couple of minutes and then stopped.  Windows still says the mouse is paired and connected, but it doesnt work.  Turn bluetooth off, turn mouse off, remove mouse from bluetooth devices, re pair mouse and it works for a couple of minutes and then stops.  Lather, rinse, repeat.  I'm hoping this is a Windows problem and not a Lenovo problem, but if anyone finds a solution I would love to hear it.

I paired the Yoga 11S with the Microsoft Scuplt Bluetooth mouse. I get random lag issues. I've tried turning off the Allow the computer to turn this device off on RTL8723A 4.0 + High Speed Chip bluetooth device. I've also tried uninstalling the drivers for the Microsoft Sculpt Bluetooth Mouse and allowing Windows 8 to install the HID-compliant mouse drivers. I still receive the random lag issues. They last from 20 to 30 seconds. Thereisnosignificantdatatransferwhenthelagissueoccurs. Does anyone else have any of these issues with this mouse? Any help?

I have the Microsoft Arch Touch Mouse SE and I can't seem to get the drivers installed at all.   Upon pairing the device, the system attempts to install the drivers and briefly displays that the mouse is connected-- however, not 10 seconds later, the 'connected' turns into a 'driver error'. This has happened with windows 8.0 & the upgraded 8.1.I've uninstalled/reinstalled all drivers, i've got all the drivers up-to-date, and I have preformed the factory reset that lenovo recommends.  Nothing has worked so far. Has anybody managed to solve these issues?

Hi, Just installed X1 Yoga, all is fine except the Bluetooth laser mouse is not found.Lenovo mouse suite displays "a compatible mouse is not detected". Nothing can be done in the mouse suite.I tried removing and installing mouse suite, removing bluetooth entries and mouse HID compliant entry from device mananger. Still same message "a compatible mouse is not detected". The mouse worked fine on T430.Is there a compatibility issue?

Hi,I have the following issue with my newly received, out of the box X1 Yoga 2nd gen: Most of the special function buttons don't work: To be specific, only the adjust volume buttons (~F1-F3) and the brightness buttons (~F5 and F6) work. Buttons like the mic off button (F4) dont do anything, no matter if the "Fn" key is pressed or not. I checked the keyboard using an online tool, and all keys work physically, so it must be a software problem. I had this problem directly after finishing setting up windows 10, prior to installing any other software. I do have several keyboard language settings enabled, but the problem exists for all of them. I would appreciate any suggestions!Greetings,Gregor

Whatever I do, I can't seem to get bluetooth working on my Y2P.  I installed the latest ones from Lenovo's site, I tried using the generic drivers, I tried getting the latest ones from Intel... still no luck. If I use the generic ones, I get a code 43 error in Device Manager.  If I try Lenovo's or Intel's it starts the device fine but Windows itself doesn't even think I have a bluetooth device. What is going on?

Hello all, My yoga 710's bluetooth can detect other bt devices but fails to pair/connect. First appeared with the microsoft mouse 3600.Trying to test it cgecked also on samsung and xiomi phones - it tries to pair and then announces "try connecting your device again". Looked in the forum so tried:Rolling back to previous driver.Removing the device.Reinstalling driver from internet.Reinstalling driver frim system partition.All with the same result. Any ideas?

Very very slow wifi connection and Bluetooth connection.I'm using Windows 8.1 operating system is. The wifi is in itself capatible maximum 1000 Kb / s up to speed! Hi  We have purchased a Lenovo Yoga Laptop on 20.01.17. From 10th of April onwards , there is some issues with Laptop Power Button .We are not able to switch it on using power Button. We had a talk with call center executives, Senior Executives & service Head of Kolkata, but still there is no proper update. What is the "Windows Device Manager" saying about the bluetooth device ?

Can you check if the bluetooth complete disapear from the list, or if it shows some yellow warning sign when the issue appear.
 
Please check which bluetooth model do you have installed, on the support site for your model there are two bluetooth drivers:
1) Bluetooth Driver (Liteon, Qualcomm) for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Yoga 710-14IKB, Yoga 710-15IKB
2) Intel Bluetooth Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Yoga 710-14IKB, Yoga 710-15IKB

I have connected my blueooth headphones to my Yoga 710 laptop, It says that they are connected, but when I listen to audio it comes out of my laptop. If I click on the speaker button in the bottom right corner it still says its going through my realtek high definition audio. If i click the playback devices, it shows my bluetooth speakers and right click them it gives me the option to connect, however it doesn't work.

Hi! Thank you for writing in. You need to consider the hardware compatibility of a Windows computer to an Android OS. Basic functionality of the wifi, keyboard, bluetooth etc. might not work because of driver incompatibility. I brought the X1 Yoga in October, great machine.  I then replaced my N700 mouse with the Thinkpad X1 mouse.  Since then;The Bluetooth keeps disabling at re-start.I keep getting page not responsive 'Kill / Wait message on Chrome (Microsoft Edge works fine)and most annoying of all, the mouse cursor (also from the track pad) has an annoying scroll icon next to the poiter that I can't get rid of. Hi Folks, I am happy with my yoga, but the bluetooth signal is very weak... I used an App to verify signals and bluetooth power levels. On my Yoga 720 13ikb I have -87dBM at 3 inches from the base of keyboard (Weeeeeeaaakkkk) On my "OLD" dell laptop I have -49dBM at the same distance. (Good/Strong) Why I am asking this? Because I can't connect any of my 3 bluetooth earbuds with my Yoga unless If I am one inch from the hinge (no kidding) Even my bluetooth mouse is jittering to use (I've tried 2). So my questions are: * Does anybody else had the same issue?* I was wondering to open the back cover and check if the antenna cable is connected (since it'll take 7 business days, if lucky to check this issue under warranty) I used the app Bluetooth Signal Strengh Meter 1.8 from Neofrontier Technologies. My laptop is a month old, so far I just have the crappy video bleading (like surface pro 4) but it's okay. Thank you...

I have been experiencing bluetooth connectivity issues with my new X1 Yoga 3rd Gen, wondering if anyone else is seeing this.  Specifically I am using the thinkpad compact bluetooth keyboard and the thinkpad x1 wireless touch mouse (in bluetooth mode).  What happens is that every few hours, both devices lose connectivity suddenly.  When I go to the bluetooth settings on my X1, it shows both devices as "connected" -- but the light is blinking on the keyboard as if it is searching for a connection.  The only way I can get them back is by using the laptop trackpad to disable and re-enable bluetooth, at which time both devices connect again. I've tried a few different solutions, disabling power management, turning off the option that allows the computer to power down each of the bluetooth devices, and even reinstalling the intel bluetooth driver.  No luck. Has anyone experienced anything similar to this / have any suggestions on what could be the issue? Thanks in advance.

X1 Yoga running Win 7 x64 In Device Manager, a Generic Bluetooth Adapter device comes up with the typical yellow exclamation point. "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) The event log has a bunch of entries with event ID 17:The local Bluetooth adapter has failed in an undetermined manner and will not be used. The driver has been unloaded. When I re-install the BT drivers, the correct two devices show up in Device Manager and the Bluetooth icon shows up in the taskbar. But after a reboot everything is back to a failed state. Any idea what's going on here? Anyone having the same issue?

I just brought Lenovo Desktop 700 25ISH at best buy at first pc was running great but after random updates the bluetooth & WiFi drivers not be found tried reinstalling bunch of times and even did clean pc restore "after backup" still nothing pops up in Drive Manager. I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 running Vista Home Premuim edition. Ever since I've had it the machine will never recognise the Dell bluetooth mouse when I turn the machine on. The fix up until now has been to disable and renable the Dell Truemobile 355 Bluetooth + EDR driver. The mouse would start working. However, sometimes when the UAC window would open the mouse would stop working.

Yesterday I had a problem with the 'user profile cannot be loaded' and I sorted this by using the procedure in regedit for renaming a .bak file described elsewhere in this forum. This fixed the user profile problem but now I can't disable the Bluetooth driver, the disable box is greyed out. The only way I can get the mouse to work is to boot up in safe mode, disable the bluetooth driver, reboot the machine, enable the driver normally (the box then goes grey) and hope for the best.

Any suggestions on how to permanent solve these problems?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 that I got in the middle of January. It had Bluetooth mouse (Dell) problems from day 1. I got a lot of personal help from Dell through phone calls that got it about 90% fixed. They finally said to get it completely fixed I would need to reload Vista which I didn't want to do. After another problem (driver conflict) with the notebook, I did have to reload Vista with Dells help. Since the reload, the bluetooth mouse has been working at 100%. Yes, I know that is not really good news.
At the time I had Vista Premium but upgraded to Ultimate after the mouse problem was fixed.

I bought a Flex 14 from the Lenovo store website a month ago, and I seem to be having problems with my wireless adapter. I can't remember if it is because of the update to 8.1 since I updated my laptop to 8.1 on the day that I received my laptop. No matter how far away I am to the router, my wifi would disconnect. It would disconnect for around 30-60 seconds and happens very often, which is kind of annoying. Other laptops in my house don't experience this kind of issue, so it can't be my wireless router or internet service provider. Bluetooth seems to have issues as well. I bought a bluetooth mouse for my laptop around 2 weeks ago and it disconnects just like my wifi. I've tested the mouse with my phone for a full hour and I did not encounter any problems, so I concluded that it must be my wireless adapter that has a problem. I've tried updating all the drivers from Lenovo support page, but that didn't fix it. So, I tried getting the drivers from Intel, since my adapter is the Intel Wireless-N 7260. That also did not work. Any ideas? I would really appreciate any sort of help right now.

Have you tried going to Device Manager and disable roaming or reduce roaming sensitivity? Also try to turn off any kind of power saving features you see.Does your bluetooth mouse come with an additional USB dongle?Does it only happen when you use the BT mouse with your laptop?

I bought my Ideapad about 8 months ago.  While it is not a powerhouse, it does what I need quite adequately.  The only problem I have is that the wifi and bluetooth are both sluggish to engage.  I have updated my OS as a whole.  I have also upgraded each driver individually and nothing has changed.  Is it possible to put a "higher quality" (for lack of a better word) wifi/bluetooth card in the computer to fix this problem?  I have tried the other "fixes" I have found but not had any luck.

Hi, I bought my notebook "HP Pavilion g6" on January 2013. It was working fine until last month though I was facing some connection problems with wifi after upgradation to Windows 10. Suddenly, after some updates, the wifi and bluetooth adapters have disappeared. I tried to rectify the problem by trying out the solutions given everywhere, but no luck. The adapter itself is missing. Even after downloading the adapter, its not shown in the device manager as well as the network connections. So I'm really at a loss with this issue.  I've done so much troubleshooting to no avail.  Removed soundcard and bluetooth and reinstalled.  Installed new drivers.  Deleting and repairing devices. Changing the WiFi to "Prefer 5.2GHz band".  Other troubleshooting based on discussions on other forums... The Problem. Brand new Thinkpad P71.  I have two of the same external speakers I've used with my iPhone via Bluetooth to stream audio and never had a problem.  The speakers are the Oontz 3XL. When I connect with my P71, it can go 24 hours or two minutes, but it will just suddenly stop playing audio.  The blue light on the speaker will turn off.  To get it to work again, I'll have to close the audio app and reconnect the Bluetooh.  Then it will run for anywhere from one minute to 24 hours and disconnect again. I also just bought a brand new Thinkpad X1 Yoga (2nd gen).  Exact same problem.  Did all the same troubleshooting. I mostly stream Sirius XM from a browser (and have tried different browsers as well).  I also play audio from iTunes.  The weird thing with iTunes is that when this happens, the Play/Pause button in the software will also stop working, unless I close the app and restart. It's definitely a Lenovo problem, since I am encountering the same problem on both systems.  I don't know if this could be related to BitDefender and/or Malware Bytes (both are inst... Hi all,I used to stream music from my lenovo yoga to this wireless speaker.After many months of good working, this connection doesn't work anymore. In windows 10, through the bluetooth device window, the speaker "HK Onyx Studio 3" appears connected, but it doesn't appear in the output list of periphiral devices, so it isn't possible to select it as we did before, and output the sound. I contacted the hotline of Harman Kardon that suggested me to ask the Lenovo's hotline to provide a driver with protocols A2DP 1.3, AVRCP 1.5, AHFP 1.6, and Bluetooth 4.1.What do you think about it? Here is my configuration:- Lenovo Yoga 500 with Windows 10, and Bluetooth 4.0- Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 3 For information, the bluetooth connection between an IPhone and the wireless speaker works fine!We deconnected and connected many time between lenovo yoga and the speaker without results. Any idea please to solve the trouble between lenovo yoga and HK Onyx Studio 3?thank you.

I bought the Yoga 500 a week ago however immediately after starting it I have been faced with problems. At first i thought its normal since it is a brand new laptop and it takes time till it adjusts but that didn`t happen. The problems are as follows: 1) The mouse coursor  and touchpad keeps on blocking regularly. I tried it also with an external mouse and I faced the same problems. 2) WIFI:  a) it keeps loosing its signal continually             b) It dissconect from the wifi almost every 30 minutes              c) Whenever i want to reconnect to the wifi it shows there are no connections available eventhough my phone and my girlfriends laptop is already connected ( and there are over 5 other wifi-s available from my neighbors)             d) Every single time I have to use the troubleshooter which says "problem with wireless adapter or acces point".
