I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello. I am French computer scientist living in the US, and I am currently looking at replacing my old Elitebook 8560w by a Zbook Studio G3. My only problem... is that I often need to switch between two languages, english, and french, and a french keyboard is far more practical for me. So I am looking at buying a Zbook Studio G3 in the US but with a French keyboard. So I have several questions:1) Are all Zbook Studio G3 keyboards the same in terms of physical dimensions and connections?2) If yes, can I just replace a Zbook Studio G3 US keyboard with a Zbook Studio G3 French keyboard without any technical problem?3) Do Zbook Studio G3 keyboards have a spare part number?4) Is there any way to buy a Zbook Studio G3 French keyboard?5) What is my best chance to obtain what I want: a Zbook Studio G3 bought in the US with a French keyboard? Thank you very much.Vincent

Issue since moving from IE9 to IE11 in the office

I've changed the Language Preference on IE11 to add both of them, English by default
Microsoft Office is already set to use both language

Although using Internet Explorer, we are having an issue where it only seem to spell check one language, giving errors when typing words in the other language.

Read on the internet some people that added both language in the keyboard layout, but that's not an interesting solution because first the French keyboard layout does all the English keys and second people tend to accidentaly switch language while typing
using shortcut or whatever

Any help regarding this issue would be appreciated

Thanks

My x220 took a fall and managed to crack the screen. It was origionally the "LP125WH2(SL)(B3)", which I believe is the later of the two IPS pannels and is generally seen as the best screen for the x220 model. Infuriatingly, the insurance will only pay out of I get it repaired at a "proper" computer shop so I'm unable to just fix it myself. The computer shop has found what they claim to be the correct screen, but I'm not even 100% sure it's actually an IPS model, nevermind a "decent" one (the vertical viewing angles seem awful but as I can't compare it to the origional screen it's really hard to tell). These are the details from their replacement screen; Can someone please help me identify what sort it is and if it's as good as the IPS it's replacing as I'm not having much luck with google? Greatest of thanks

A:x220 screen replacement

Actually the one bit of information I've been able to find out is that the screen has a GLOSS finish where as the origional part is MATT. This is enough on it's own that I actively don't want this as a replacement screen

Hello,I have decided to upgrade RAM to 16GB and replace WWAN modem with an mSata disk in my Lenovo X220 laptop.RAM: GoodRam GR1333S364L9/8G x 2, DISKamsung 850 EVO 250GB (MZ-M5E250BW). The OS used on the laptop is Windows 10 Professional. What I have done:- used a new single RAM stick -> worked -> 8Gb RAM detected- used 2 new single RAM sticks -> only 8GB was detected (checked in BIOS and Windows)- used 1 new 8GB stick + old 4 GB stick -> 12GB was detected- tried combionations of 4GB stick with the other 8GB stick, and RAM slots combinations -> the 8GB sticks are okay when working single or with 4 GB- I decided to leave RAM at 12 GB and continue with mSata part- unplugged and removed WWAN modem and installed mSata- powered on the laptop and entered BIOS -> mSata and 12 GB RAM detected, and because the mSata got higher boot priority that the old 2,5" SSD I changed boot order, and also decided to select the option in BIOS to disable WWAN, and also disabled some beeps (eg when laptop starts, or battery runs out) which annoyed me- saved changes -> laptop died (now nothing gets displayed on the -> keybord lamp blinks for a second, few seconds nothing happens, then there are beeps: 1 beep, 3 beeps, 3 beeps, 1 beep. I have here a Microsoft Internet Keyboard (French version) that supports french layout. I set the keyboard to:

French(Canada) - French
--Canadian French
--Canadian Multilingual Standard
--French

Regardless of the setup I use, not all the keys on the keyboard output properly. If I use the ^ with vowels the put the accent above, however when doing the characters on the ~ and 1-9 keys I don't get the appropriate characters.

I've tried installing the MS Intellitype Pro software to no avail. It worked before the computer was formatted and XP put back on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys

I am currently learning french and I would like to be able to type french accents on my keyboard.I know there is a way of setting up the keyboard in XP but I have forgotten as it was a long time ago since I last had to do this.UK keyboard as oppossed to US as I am in the UK.I found a site on the web that gave me these instructions....

start>control panel>keyboard>language settings this is where it falls down as my PC does not display language settings just pulse speed and cursor speed..can anyone point me in the right direction please

TY Colzie

P.s I searched the forums and could not find a thread with a similar theme hence this thread admin.

A:keyboard in French

Hi colzie

Rather than going straight to the keyboard applet in Control Panel, try just the "Regional and Language Options" applet:

Start/Control Panel/Regional and Language Options/Languages tab/Details/Settings ... "Add" -- and choose the French options you prefer for "Input Language" (there are six different French versions to choose from), and choose French also for your "Keyboard layout/IME".

See if that does it
Best of luck

Hi everyone, I just received my Y40 and found out that it came with a French keyboard. Could anyone verify that this is an anomaly or does everyone get French keyboards. It makes no sense at all to automatically sell french keyboards to Canada when most people do not speak french. I understand they need to offer the optionality, but they shouldn't automatically assume that people want french keyboards.  This is very frustrating as the Lenovo website shows the US version of the keyboard. I'm talking to support and trying to figure out what can be done. If anyone has any success stories that they can share on rectifying the situation, please do share to help all of us fellow Canadians out. Thank you for all of your help!

Is there an easy way for me to type in French, including accents on a USA keyboard, other than memorizing the alt codes?

A:Type French easily on USA keyboard?

You could make yourself a character store (e.g. on a notepad) from the character map that you find in All Programs > Accessories > Ease of Access. Then you copy the characters from there and paste it into the text. That is not very convenient either, but gets the job done for the occasional email or so. The notpad shortcut you can pin to the taskbar for easy access.

But if you need it frequently, I would get a French keyboard and make the appropriate settings (which you can easily switch back and forth). E.g. I am right now typing from a German keyboard - in Florida.

Any ideas what this may be?

I can not change my keyboard from French Canadian to US. I tried the usual things; pressing CTRL+ALT and using the keyboard icon on the taskbar, and even though it says it is on the US keyboard, it is still French Canadian. Then I removed my other keyboard options from the control panel so it says I only have the US keyboard available, but it is still French Canadian. I have no idea where the apostrophe is on this keyboard, and it is driving me crazy.

Help please! I just installed Service Pack 2 and lost the configuration on my French Canadian keyboard. I opened the Control Panel, then Regional properties, gave French Canadian as the input language by default with the addition of British English as a second possibility. When I wanted to change the keyboard setting to look like my FC keyboard I was given the choice of French Canadian Legacy or French Canadian Multilingual keyboards. The keyboard I really want allows for an accented capital E automatically. I am not quite sure which it is nor do I know of any site that shows it specifically. On the keyboard layout I am looking for the @ symbol is attained by 2 plus altcar. There are also more dead keys than on the standard French keyboard which is what I get.
I cannot seem to be able to reconfigure to have the FC keyboard.

My sytem is Windows XP.

It may be more difficult re-mapping all the special embedded keys of a laptop but Windows allows you to change your keyboard layout for standard keyboards and you could use an external USB keyboard.

And, yes, you can purchase key decals: Amazon.com: English US Non-Transparent Keyboard Sticker On Black Background: Office Products

This is an example any large computer or office supply store in your area should have something similar in your local language.

Living in France you cannot avoid a French keyboard, they're everywhere. So I learned using the azerty, but stuck to English.

This is of course beyond the people designing Windows.

So how can I have Windows 8 speaking English, but using French options for the rest (?, keyboard, date format, metric)?

And of course, ALSO WITH METRO please. It seems independent of the "real" OS.

Thanks in advance

A lot of these changes can be made through the Control Panel > Clock, Language and Region

Hello everyone,

Recently I bought a new computer to my wife, and it has French Windows 7 x64 bit preinstalled on it. As she speaks French/Russian I added a Russian layout in Windows (please note that originally Windows 7 came as French edition).

Now, when she visits Le Monde.fr : Actualit?s ? la Une web site the special characters are not properly shown in IE8. For example, in words, the letter ? becomes й etc.

If she runs Google Chrome browser, everything is working just fine. However, she dislikes Chrome, so I am forced to solve the problem with IE8.

If I choose in IE8 a Western Europe locale I can see proper characters in words, but! I don't want to choose locale each time there is a bug with IE8!

How can I solve the issue?

Please help. Merci.

You just need to set your language options in IE in your preferred order... and if you are going to use cyrillics at all you must have the far eastern language fonts too (as odd as that sounds... d'accord/harosho?)...

Control Panel > Internet Options > Language Button (it's in the first tab...) and set French, Russian, English in their ORDER of personal importance...

I just placed an order for a P70 from a US reseller. I live abroad, but will be visiting in the near future and that's when I'll pick the computer up. This model comes with a US English keyboard, but I need a Spanish keyboard (backlit). I have no problem replacing the keyboard myself, but first I have to figure out how the heck to buy it! I've managed to narrow my search down to two parts, from this parts list: 00PA298 (PYWL-KBD,ES,CHY,BL) or 00PA380 (PYWL-KBD,ES,DFN,BL).  My first question is what is the difference between these two models? The "CHY" code seems to stand for Chicony, a keyboard manyfacturer, but then who is DFN, and are these parts interchangeable? And my second qiestion is how do I actually order one of these parts. Using the Lenovo site, I get no furthere than here, a page which demands my serial number (which I don't yet have or know), so I can't even find out if (a) they have one of these two keyboards, (b) what they cost, and (c) if they'll sell one to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it is easy.
Get hold of the PDF workshop manual from the web.

It is usually just a case of removing the screws on the bottom marked with a K and possibly prising out the top button bar.

Take care with detaching the ribbon cables though as the connectors aren't of the best design, and can be fiddly.

for quite a while now (almost 5 years) and it has been quite an adventure. The basic UI it came with was perfect (as I don't want to spend hours and hours trying to figure out how to open my media player with 1 button). Leading me to my basic and very important need for a new gaming keyboard.

My new keyboard will need to have media controls...that open things besides Windows Media Player (Ituns, Spotify, etc). I despise WMP and often click to use my music without a thought. It's convenient and a luxury I no longer choose to live without. I don't care whether the KB is mechanical or not as long as the keys aren't squished together, raised to ridiculous "ergonomic" heights, or covered in a rubber that will fade in a few months.

My reclusa has just one button that the letter has faded from in it's 4 years of use, I think that's pretty awesome when world of warcraft is basically just spamming one button for hours at a time.

I would like my new KB to have macro keys besides the media panel (which I'm assuming all gaming KBs come with today) and as user-friendly as possible. I looked up the BlackWidow linked as the "Unicorn" KB on MMO's Setup of the Month and found that quite a few people are experiencing issues with keys becoming stuck in some way or another or just failing to work at all...something lik... After looking at your previous inquiries, I took a bold step in the assumption you were still asking about your HP Envy laptop.  So I moved it to the more appropriate Notebook section of the forum.  If you would finally state the exact product number (off the tag),  your likely to get an answer about the keyboard replacement.  Please know that the keyboard is best replaced by a licensed technnician because of the extremely delicate ZIF connectors

Hello, I need urgent help. My keyboard on HP Pavilion 13-2122ds stopped working, due to a small spill of oil. Where can I buy a keyboard replacement? Do I  have to find a keyboard precisely for this model, or is there an alternative version of keyborad I can find on the market? Thanks so much!

My keyboard is locking up the computer, when any key is struck. All other functions appear to operate correctly. The computer is an old one and used only as a print server for the family.
Question-Since it looks like the keyboard port has failed, may I disconnect the PS2 type KB and install a USB KB? This computer is running XP SP2 on a 333MHz K6. I would have liked to have used the new dual core DELL as the printer server and eliminate the old computer, however, one must run around banging the KB or Mouse to keep Vista awake to support print sharing.http://images.techguy.org/icon/icon8.gif

Yes but

You need to set up the bios to Not stop on all errors (ie cannot find keytboard)
In bios sometimes on older PC's have a USB enable option for keyboard (enable it)

You must first shutdown the computer to remove / insert PS2
USB can be connected anytime (prefer off first)

You can have two keyboards at the same time (PS2 and USB) if all else fails.
