I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

I bought a Lenovo Z70 17.3" Laptop recently. I found so many apps
that they have placed on my machine and I am looking to see which
ones I need to keep and ones that I can kill off.

If anyone has had any experience with these apps I would be very
grateful for your comments. These are the apps that are resident on
my Laptop:-

LENOVO PhotoMaster (This one I uninstalled as it crashed my machine when I clicked on it)
LENOVO Bluetooth with enhanced data rate software
LENOVO Dependancy Package
LENOVO Easy camera
LENOVO Fusion engine
LENOVO Wireless phone wireless import
LENOVO One key recovery
LENOVO Phone companion
LENOVO Power DVD10
LENOVO Setting Dependancy package
LENOVO ShareIT
LENOVO Web start
LENOVO_Wireless_driver

No doubt they are taking up valuable disk space.

Thanks guys.

Hello Lenovo community!I'm dealing with this frustrating problem with my Lenovo W540 since some months ago. I hope someone can help me with that!Whenever I move a little bit my laptop, it makes a beep sound and it launches Calculator and Excel a lot of times. It also launches the search tool on windows and keeps typing & till I push the Esc bottun several times. So a slight move to my laptop results in 10 unwanted calculator and and Excel or Word windows opended while making numerous beep sounds. Once I went to BIOS to start into Ubuntu and see if the problem is with Windows and I noticed that even in Bios the beep sound persists and it kept changing the Bios options by itself while making beep sounds!I contacted the Lenovo support and they changed my keyboard a couple of month ago. The problème was gone for a couple of months and now it's back. My computer is still under warranty but since I use it everyday for my work, I really want to avoid waiting several weeks without my laptop so I've been trying to avoid the issue by not moving my laptop. But it's becoming unbearable now since even when I move the screen a little bit, the issue happens!Thank you for your help!

A:Lenovo W540 beeps and launches apps and types by i...

It is difficult to diagnose without actually seeing the machine.  If moving the base causes the problem, I would guess you have a short or bad connection in the touchpad or keyboard cable.  If moving the lid causes the problem, my guess is the cable into the lid (through the right hinge) that goes to the camera and microphone (also USB devices).  It also could be a bad USB chip on the motherboard

Hi everyone,
I have just started using one of Lenovo's hybrids, the Yoga 2 11, after using for a while a previous model (IdeaPad Yoga 11s).
Windows 8.1 on both.
Now, my new Lenovo surprised me with an interestingly annoying feature - it won't allow me to pin Windows apps to the taskbar. I've tried from the Start Apps menu and from everywhere. Only, I didn't try clicking on the app icon when it is running and shown on the taskbar - simply because it won't: there's no way to access the taskbar while an app is open unless returning to the desktop.
I'm quite a beginner but I don't understand why there are such differences when the operating system is the very same. All of this is referred to while in Laptop mode so I can't even see how Lenovo could have an influence on it.

If anyone out there ever had such an issue...

A:Lenovo hybrid - apps won't be shown/pinned on taskbar

Hello Armonia, and welcome to Eight Forums.

The modern apps are full screen in Windows 8.1, and will cover the taskbar. You can use step 3 or 5 to open the taskbar while you have a modern app open to see it.

Taskbar - Open in Windows 8.1

Resetting and clearing all pinned items on the taskbar may be able to help with not being able to "Pin to taskbar" if it's corrupted.

Taskbar Pinned Apps - Reset and Clear in Windows 8

Hope this helps for now,
Shawn

So I just bought and received a Lenovo Y700 15ISK - model 80NV. Everything works great, but I've noticed that when the laptop enters sleep mode, whether on its own or not, when I turn it back on, it goes through the start up process and any application I had open prior will be closed.  I did some digging around and came across this. I followed what it said and installed the audio driver and BIOS v35 (and subsequently, v52) but I'm still having the same problem. Any ideas on a solution? Thank you in advance! I think it might also be worth mentioning that beforehand, whenever I put the computer in sleep mode, it wouldn't resume and wake up until I had installed v35, so part of my problem's been fixed.

I am totally disappointed in Lenovo's customer support. My lenovo 710s was bought less than 1 year ago (as of 10/6/2017, when I sent it in for repairs) and had 2 years warranty (1+1 year of extended warranty). I sent my laptop for repair due to a white spot issue on the monitor, affecting viewing of webpages and videos. However, the laptop was returned after 3 weeks without any fixes/repairs, as Lenovo claimed that it was a cosmetic issue. I wrote a message on their customer care website on 3/7/2017. However, they ignored me and there was no reply to date.  I thought Lenovo is a reliable and popular brand. However, it turned out to be a horrible decision, much to my dismay!

So everything has been working fine on my laptop until about 10:30PM EST tonight. I bought it new in August 2011.
Specs:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
CPU: Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
HD: 750 GB
BIOS: 45CN36WW

It's always been a fine machine with NO problems.
However, last night there were Windows 7 updates that were installed and then restarted my computer. I had not gotten a chance to check exactly what they were though. About 10:30 this evening, flash crashed in Mozilla Firefox which is not that uncommon, and from there Firefox closed, and so did my Microsoft Word and Excel apps that were open. From there, my computer began to shut down and restart. When it went to restart, all it could do was go to the opening Lenovo screen which gives you the F2 (setup option) and F12 (multiboot menu option) as it typically does. Besides a thin strip at the top that appeared after about 30 secs that only displays moving static that eventually will just stick, that is where the boot process ends. No Windows 7 screen, and certainly no opportunity to boot into safe mode to check for any problems. The screen freezes and goes nowhere.

So basically, all I'm getting in terms of boot options are lenovo features, not windows 7 features, meaning it won't boot into windows 7 or windows 7 safe mode no matter what I try. The biggest problem here is that I have no windows 7 disc to even try to boot from my dvd drive.

Anybody have any suggestions on what the probl... Read more

I have some problems with the Lenovo software. Lenovo Account Portal does not launch Lenovo Companion and Lenovo Settings. Also, Lenovo Solution Center is missing from the Start Menu. The second problem is that some tiles are blank in Start Menu. Seemingly it's the apps that aren't Metro. I'm not sure when the problem started, but I think it was like that since I got the PC. If I right click the apps, the only option will be "Pin to Start", and with some apps: Share and Rate. Hi. I've got Lenovo G580 (20150) and I'm trying to install the geforce graphics card present in the system. I don't know exactly what the gpu model is but it's something akin to Geforce 610M. I've got Windows 8.1 installed and the drivers from Lenovo support page for this laptop don't work (I tried drivers for Win 8.1/8/7). During installation the drivers installer says that it "couldn't find appropriate hardware". I also tried various drivers from sites like driveridentifier but none worked. I even installed Win 10 and Windows Update found but couldn't install the drivers. I also have  Win 8.1 freshly installed. It's definitely not an OS problem. A:Lenovo Yoga 910 wont load pass the Lenovo screen.

Try getting into BIOS first and loading default settings. To do this, press the small "Novo" button (you'll need a paperclip for this), and select "BIOS setup". From there, use the arrow keys to get to the "exit" tab and select load default settings.

However, after doing some research I became very baffled about the Power Turbo Switch and the many horror stories about upgrading the graphics card. I called Lenovo Technical Support to talk about possibilities and get advice about the graphics card, a woman answered the phone and informed me she had no idea or information about graphics card; but she recommended I speak to Sales. Hello, My company recently purchased a dual 4k setup for a work station. The setup is the following:2 ThinkVision P27 monitorsLenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 DockT570 (Type: 20HA) I setup the monitors and docking station yesterday and was able to power the displays using a X1 Carbon 5th gen (i5 model type: 20HQ) thru USB-C without issue. I have a user testing out the desk now with a T570. I'm able to get one monitor to funtion at 4K and the other is running at 1080p. If you check display settings I'm unable to increase the resolution to 4K. I've updated all drivers on the T570 including the display driver and thunderbolt docking station driver this morning and the system still fails to power dual 4K. I brought back the X1 I used previously and it powers the screens normally. I checked the specs of the T570 and its identical to the X1 as far as processor is concerned and the model page claims the USB-C port on the T570 can power dual 4K. What else can I try?

To make a long story short, I've been asked to help fix a friends mom's U410 laptop which wasnt activiting Windows 8.1 properly (Was Windows 8 OOB). After struggling with the activation for a few hours, I backed up the data and decided to just run the Lenovo one key recovery. During the recovery process, the installation had failed. When I attemped to reboot, no Lenovo splash screen was loading - just a black screen (although i can hear the cooling fan start, and hear the harddrive spin up. I tried to access the boot menu thru the novo button, and nothing would load; still a black screen. After researching for a few more hours, I had found multiple threads about bios updates required to be able to access bios with windows 8, and other threads about gpus on these units booting to a second screen (which i did test, and the second monitor does indicate a signal). None of the solutions on those threads have given positive results.   Basically, I've run out of options and am looking for some suggestions. The only thing that shows up on the display at anytime is the small blue novo menu when the button is pressed (normal start up, bios setup, boot menu, system recovery - all of which just leave a black screen). Thanks.

Thanks for Posting!

Try opening Control Panel / Uninstall a program and uninstall the Lenovo Energy Management / Power Management Software,
   Restart the system if prompted.

Now download and install this
     Lenovo Power Management Driver

If  after the installation you were able to see a shortcut icon on your desktop,
try navigating Crogram Files or Program Files x86
now look for Lenovo Folder and It shouldbe located there.

Hope this helps
Cheers!
