Driver packs for SCCM

Q: Driver packs for SCCM

We use SCCM (actual version is current brach 1709) . Dell provdes SCCM "driver packs" for all of their models. You download 1 .CAB file and then expode it and all drivers are there and in an "SCCM Format" and you can then upload then into your SCCM admin console. Does Lenovo do the same? If so where are they SCCM driver packs? Thanks.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Greetings, we received our first charges of Z440 workstations last week. We immediately downloaded the HP Z440 driverpack from http://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/HP_Driverpack_Matrix_x64.html and imported those into our System Center Configuration Manager 2012 R2. Of course we did use the Win 8.1 drivers to inject into our boot image and wie normally imported the Windows 7 drivers for the Windows 7 deployment.Well, unfortunately SCCM WinPE5 does not show any drives installed, even with the correct drivers installed. We even tried to import  the WinPE 5 driver pack and the drivers from SoftPaq download manager, but none of those seemed to work. Is there any known issues with Z440s drivers and SCCM? Please help me out on this, it's pretty urgent. Thank you & kind regards

We were able to create a workaround with setting all RAID settings (including those of the eSATA ports) to AHCI. So now we see the drive. Still, with RAID mode we don't get any drives even with the correct drivers imported.

Hello, I am downloading the drivers for the T460s for OS:-Win8.1-Win7x32-Win7x64 and I could not help but notice that the package was build in January... by now most of the drivers need updates. When talking to my peers I was told to NOT use the Lan driver in the package and to import the single one as there are issues with it. My question is: WHEN are the SCCM packages going to be updated? I would understand if this was a T430 or even a T440s.... but a new model....  Please advice.

Hi all.

I've just received a shiny Z30-B (PT251A-008002) which will - if I can get this working - become the new workhorse for the work fleet.
Nice machine.

My only hurdle so far, is the very first one, getting it to boot into WinPE so I can apply a Task Sequence, and build it from SCCM.
I've found the correct LAN driver on the Intel website and applied it to the boot image, but it doesn't work.
I require the WinPE drivers.

The Intel package does contain "WinPE" drivers, but they don't actually seem to apply to my model laptop (if I look in the .inf file), and do not load, I tried them anyway.

If there was an SCCM driver package for this laptop, it would be awesome.
Failing that, just the LAN driver for WinPE would be perfect.

Appreciate any help or advice.

Thanks
Ryan

Hi,
I am using the Windows 7 x64 Driver CAB in SCCM 2012 to deploy drivers to the optiplex 7040.
The "Apply Driver Package"  step is failing when trying to install the drivers, i receive the below error messages

DISM.LOG
CBS - Failed to unload offline registry ntuser.dat ACCESSDENIED
Unfortunately it doesnt give me details of the driver that is failing, otherwise i could just package the driver and apply it as a package.
All other builds are deploying fine so its definitely something thats only affecting the dell model, am using a 64 bit boot image already.
anyone seen this before?
I've seen some other posts which mention to use a 64 bit boot image which i already am, and this boot image works fine on all other hardware models.

thanks

When running an SCCM 2012 R2 task sequence to install Windows 10 on a Z240, the network driver is working in Windows PE during the download and apply Windows image. I'm using Auto Apply Drivers step and after it's completed, the computer restarts into the Windows 10 OS, tries to set up the devices and then the task sequence fails because there is no network driver detected that it can use. I've tried to import multiple types of network drivers from both HP and Intel with no success. I've tried to specifically apply the Z240 driver package instead of using Auto Apply Drivers with no success. I've also tried to install a Windows 8.1 image instead and it still fails at the same point. I'm confused because it works fine in PE, but not after restarting and booting into the Windows OS. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Does anyone know of a website that provides entire driver packs for computer models? Basically, instead of having to download drivers for a computer individually for each device, all of the drivers would be available in one file like a Rar or Cab file.

Our University is in the process of moving towards Hardware Independent Imaging(HII) to image our computers instead of Norton Ghost for our OS deployment. We support students and any model laptop that they bring in. With HII, you build a repository of drivers for the various model computers used at your organization so we have a lot of drivers to collect (and keep up-to-date but have not yet determined this).

If there isn't a site available, does anyone know if they individual manufacturers provide these driver packs for IT Techs? They are not available on any of the consumer support driver download websites except for Dell. Dell has started providing driver packs which has really helped with OS deployment. I am already aware of websites like www.driverguide.com but these are usually out-of-date and also individual.

Thanks

A:Driver packs for computer models

I think what you are wanting to do is quite impossible, and I say this for many reasons and the biggest one is how much storage capacity does your university have to offer up, and what media will these driver disks be shipped out to the students and faculty. Each and every computer is built very differently depending on the person's personal taste.

It is best in my most professional recommendation, that you only support the staff this way and order computers with matching specs. Supporting the student bodies computer needs is by far a feat that I would never do at a university.

You will run into Macintosh Operating System based computers, Unix based workstations and servers, Linux based workstations and servers, various versions of Windows from Windows XP to Windows 7 and 32 and 64bit Versions, and what not.

Since you've got SCCM, you've got a domain - use group policy to configure the WU options to point to the SCCM server. Usually I disable WU though, because I'm using SCCM for patch deployment.

So, I had errors occurring in SCCM (Version 1702), and not being able to login to the SQL database, I decided it was easier to do a complete reinstall of SCCM with a new instance of SQL 2016.. However I've now got different issues that I'm having trouble resolving.

We're only a small organisation with around 300 PC's, but spread over several locations. Initially in SCCM I had the client pushed out, several DP's, and Windows 7, and 10 both being deployed as well with no issues. Since the reinstall I have been unable to get the client to install on any PC's - even new ones that have never had the client previously, I'm also unable to pxe boot.

I've distributed both the x64 and x86 boot images, enabled PXE on the DP, the options in DHCP are still there from the previous install obviously but for reference option 67 is "smsboot\x64\wdsnbp.com"

The client gets the initial boot file from the server, then instead of loading WinPE I get:

"The Windows Boot Configuration (BCD) file from the PXE server does not contain a valid operating system entry. Ensure that the server has boot images installed for this architecture"

I've read that turning off PXE on the DP, then waiting and re-enabling it will work, however it hasn't done so for me.. I wonder if this and the client not being installed anywhere are linked to the same problem.

I'll apologise in advance if that seems a little vague, but I'm fairly n... Read more
