Yoga Yoga 920-13IKB lost Ethernet Capability

Q: Yoga Yoga 920-13IKB lost Ethernet Capability

Past few days, I have been using Ethernet connection fine. Suddenly, it is gone.In 'Control Panel' -> 'Network & Internet' -> 'Network Connection', there are 'Bluetooth Network Connection' and 'WiFi Connection' only. No Ethernet Adapter.Open the Device Manager, there are 'Qualcom Wireless', Bluetooth Device + 8 different WAN Miniports.I downloaded & installed Intel WLAN Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Yoga 920-13IKB, Yoga 920-13IKB 'fqy801af', no change.I switched the ethernet connection from the C Hub to another USB Hub with Ethernet port, no change.Swapped cables, swapped LAN ports, no change. Same cables and ports work fine with another laptop (6 years old).Hope that someone would give a helping hand. I've been struggling with it all day long and am giving up.Help, please. P.S. Got a couple days more to be able to return, with regret of course. Hope this can be fixed.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I have a Yoga 720 13" that will not boot.  It is 18 months old and out of warranty.  There are only about 30 hours of use on it.  The symptoms are as follows: Press power button, it lights up for 5-6 seconds, then goes off. When plugged in to the charger, the white connection LED is on but momentarily goes off every 5-6 seconds, then repeats. When the power button is held in for 15-20 seconds, internal fans come on but shut off when power button is released.Screen and keyboard do nothing. Battery seems fine as I am able to use the USB-3 port to charge my phone and other items even when not connected to the charger. Please help, I cannot afford a new computer in such a short amount of time.

So my Lenovo Yoga would start to boot and the light on the side and keyboard would light up, but then it would turn off again. Then it would start to boot up (without the screen actually turning on) and turn off again. It would just cycle through this, so I held down the power button for 10 seconds, and now it does not turn on at all- no lights, no anything. Any suggestions?

Hi.

I'm trying to install Windows 10 from an USB flash drive on a Yoga 910-13IKB. I plan to do a clean install from scratch.

When I boot the USB flash drive the procedure to install Windows 10 goes normally until I have to select the HDD. It does not find any HDD drive. I guess I need to load some special driver for the solid HDD to be recognized.

Is there an special driver or trick to be able to see the HDD ?

Regards

A:Yoga 910-13IKB: No HDD on Windows 10 install

Hi Martin,

That SSD runs in RAID mode so you need the iRST driver.

Download the f6flpy-x64.zip file linked on the left of the below page.  Extract it to a folder on your Win 10 install flash drive.  When you get to the "missing drive" part of the install process select Add Driver and browse to that folder.  That should get you going.

I'm experiencing a very annoying blinking/flickering of the built-in 4K display.Have a look at this short video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vdd4UICu_T4On the movie it isn't nearly as bad as in reality. The flickering is only visible with a blue, dark gray or purple color background. White, red or black is fine. The issue appears to be independent of the OS - the same can be observed in Linux or even in the BIOS.It all started after I attached a second screen (FullHD 24 inch using Thunderbold->HDMI adapter) in Windows 10 (latest Intel display drivers as of January 26, 2018).Just after connecting the external display the laptop screen went gibberish but the external display worked fine. After disconnecting the screen and restarting the computer the blinking started. It looks like a problem with the refresh rate. The laptop display behaves like an old CRT display with a low refresh rate I found this procedure https://support.lenovo.com/pl/en/solutions/ht500364 in another thread and followed it but unfortunately it didn't help.  The computer is almost brand new (bought in December, top version i7-8550U, 16GB RAM, 1TB NVMe, 4K UHD display). Any help appreciated.

Hi guys. I recently bought new laptop (yoga 910) and don't properly understand its RAM specs. All oficial docs said that laptop have 16 Gb ddr4 2133 MHz, but tests (Speccy and CPU-z) shows that RAM have only 664MHz for one channel (16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 664MHz (10-10-10-28)). I heard that using XMP settings in BIOS I can change memory speed, but I can't find it. So, the questions are: does Lenovo downgraded RAM in all laptops and other users have the same specs, if yes, then how to change it (1200 MHz is less then DDR3 speed), else, what should I do next, is it something wrong with my laptop?

I bought my wife a Lenovo Yoga 720-13IKB about a year ago and it has always had trouble connecting to the internet. We are now living overseas (in the Khalij) and her computer barely ever detects the WiFi network at all! This happened occasionally in the US but we could connect it via Ethernet so it wasn't really a problem. But it's pretty much unusable here because of the crap WiFi card, frequency, or whatever in the machine. I've seen some posts asking for help with SLOW internet but her computer almost NEVER gets signal or, if it does see the network, it cannot connect. PLEASE, can anyone help?!?!? Joshua

Will appreciate help - I am alarmed that most of my document files have suddenly disappeared from the desktop and, seemingly, the hard disk.  This laptop is eight months old and I initially suspected a "cloak of invisibility" problem while awaiting a software update.  Random individual files and folders appeared in the recycle bin, but most have disappeared completely.  Virus scan and hardware scan have not identified any problems or out of date software.  I did receive a completely blank email today before this happened (no visible sender, no subject line) - not opened - which is suspicious.  Researching this online, I see several related queries about icons disappearing from the desktop, but am doubtful that my issue is the same.   Still unsure if this is a Lenovo update issue or a virus disaster.   Any suggestions?    Many thanks!

Hello, experienced touchpad/touchscreen glitch repeatedly today on this Lenovo Yoga 910 laptop on Windows 10. After a minute or two from bootup, a greyed out circle or square would appear on the left side of the screen, and the mouse cursor would freeze and disappear. The touchscreen didn't register any input at all. However, sometimes it acted as it was registering many clicks repeatedly. The keyboard worked fine. It seems like a similar glitch was reported with the Lenovo Helix laptops. I seem to have resolved the frozen mouse by installing all updates through Lenovo Vantage. However, the touchscreen remains dead. I removed the HID-compliant driver in order to reinstall it, but now I can't find the driver online to redownload. Does anyone have a link? Or ideas about the touchscreen?

To be clear, the touchpad seems to be working fine now. I just need a link to the touchscreen driver to reinstall. Hopefully that fixes the issue.

Good morning, I purchased a Lenovo Yoga 720 13IKB 80X6 last november 2017 in the United Arab Emirates. Everything worked perfectly until July, when the laptop shut down and wouldn?t turn on anymore. I tried everything I could without opening the device and cancelling the warranty , but eventually sent it back in the store where I bought it, and they had to change the motherboard.  Now, not even two months later, same problem. That laptop doesn?t turn on anymore, and this time it also doesn?t charge (the LED on the side doesn?t light up).  I, once again tryed everything I could that i found on the forums without opening the device pressing the on button for various amounts of time, pressin the ''reset'' one with a pin... nothing seems to work. Problem is that I no longer live in the UAE. So now I have two questions : - does anyone have an idea of what the problem might be? - Can I still send my device for repair where I live now for free with Lenovo?s IWS?  Thank you to anyone who can help out, it?s very much appreciated. Sincerely,  A disappointed costumer

Hi All, I've got a Yoga 910-13IKB with a 4k and have also bought a 27 inch 2560 x 1440 pixels monitor to use as my second screen, I'm using an usb-c addapter to connect it. My question is about playing a low requirements game like hearthstone on the laptop screen while having a browser with a few tabs on the extenson, is it supposed to move so slow? Is it because it is heating up? *temperature reaches between 70-80 C. Performance wise it dose not look to be overloaded, but now even typing on the second screen is laggy. I don't mind the sound of the fan, but the temperature and the slow performance is concerning. Thank you! Kind regards,Robert

This is a crazy one. I had an issue, just like everyone else on here, where the audio was no longer working. Then to find out, I noticed by USB wasn't working either. So, I naturally purchased a new audio/usb board. I installed it and it worked for about 15 minutes. I decided today though to get it out of the dusty drawer and give my $1000.00 laptop another look. I finally noticed that the USB and sound (residing on the same board) works great without the battery installed. WEEEEEIRD. I've got three theories below. The battery is heavy enough to disconnect the cable from the motherboard. The motherboard has a faulty connector that loosens the cable when the battery is installed.Bad battery. This one would be so odd to be the real deal.Any other ideas? I'm already about $75.00 into this project and rather not spend more on a battery. I cannot afford another motherboard. Perhaps, soldering a connector onto the motherboard may work?

I bought this laptop a little over a year ago (so ofc the warranty has only just expired).Woke up this morning and it wouldn't turn on. At all. No lights on the keyboard or around the power button. I took steps to try to get it to turn on. I plugged in for 2 hours to make sure it was charged. The small white light goes on indicating it is charging. However still no sign of life when pressing the power button. I've tried different suggestions including holding power button for 60 seconds then trying to just press. This too does nothing. Can anyone help? Has anyone had similar issues with this model?Infuriated as this was an expensive laptop, for it to completely die after only a single year of use, just after the warranty expires, is really bad form.

A:Yoga 720-13IKB stopped turning on overnight

Managed to turn it on using the reset pin on novo button or whatever its called. Seems the power button is screwed. I've seen this elsewhere, apparently is a common problem for these laptops. Note to possible buyers!

I picked up a 13 inch FHD Lenovo Yoga 720 (720-13IKB) and love absolutely everything about it except some extremely bad ghosting / screen tearing. I first noticed it when I loaded up Spelunky, where it is incredibly obvious because of how fast the character can run left and right. I've tried everything to figure this out - adjusted Intel graphics settings, researched vsync settings, updated drivers, turned off Windows effects, played with executable compatibility settings, and so on and so forth. Nothing seems to help. I noted in the other "display issues" thread that the panel ended up being the culprit, a BOE panel. This panel is also a BOE - BOE06FA. I found one mention of this on notebookcheck regarding screen brightness. They note a "panel lottery" going on with this model, where some get LG panels and some are getting BOE panels. Everything else seems fine (no line). I would really love it if there were some fix I've overlooked, but I thought I would ask here if anyone else is experiencing this on this model, and if they've gotten it fixed if so. Is it possilbe to send it in for repair and request or get a different panel? Really, really don't want to have to return it, but also can't have a machine that will give me a headache playing Spelunky!

Hi everyone, I have a very unfortunate situation. Over the last couple of weeks my 18 month old $1650 USD Lenovo Yoga 910 (i7 7500U, 512GB, 16GB) started showing signs of hardware failure. It started with an intermitant USB disconnect and reconnect noise while my mouse was plugged in. I switched to a bluetooth mouse and everything seemed to be working properly. A couple days later the laptop started crashing (turning off randomly without proper shutdown). I made sure to install all drivers and updates off the Lenovo site. These installed succesfully. I also installed Lenovo Solution Center and ran updates there. These did not seem to help, and my laptop is crashing very frequently now and will not turn on via the power button. It will randomly turn on by itself 10-30 minutes later. Basically a beautiful paperweight now.I took it to a local computer repair shop as recommended by the lovely Lenovo support technician who told me it was out of warranty and they can't do anything to help. (What kind of company does not support their premium line of laptops that fail before 2 years of use!!)The local repair man tried to reset the motherboard CMOS as per Lenovo precedures. Also checked event logs to determine the cause (could not determine from there). The laptop seemed to be doing better after taking it home. However after some time it ended up crashing again... and again. The computer repair man thinks the motherboard needs replacing, and he says... Read more

Hi Just want to share my latest experience after reading many posts of Yoga 920-13IKB (i7-8550 / 8G / 512G / 4K screen) incompatibility with Lenovo USB-C Travel Hub. I had this new Yoga 920 laptop for about a week, replacing my previous Yoga 900 (13.3", QHD+, i7-6560U, 256G, 8G). I have been using the Dell USB-C to HDMI/VGA/Ethernet/USB 3.0 Adapter (DA200) with the Yoga 900 without any problems. However, I can say with certainty that the Yoga 920 is incompatible with the Dell DA200 adapter. After reading many posts, I finally decided to purchase the Lenovo USB-C Travel Hub (4X90M60789) as a replacement. I had a local store rang Lenovo to confirm that it would work with my Yoga 920 before making the purchase. It arrived yesterday, and with two days of using and testing the connections Lenovo USB-C Travel Hub (Ethernet/HDMI/VGA/USB3.0); I can say that it works as expected. I'm not sure why Lenovo does not update their website to include the model Yoga 920 to be listed on the "Hardware Compatibility" list, as this will simply for the enduser to check - http://support.lenovo.com/docs/usb_c_travel_hub

Hello everyone,  I recently purchased a Lenovo Yoga 720 13IKB. I've only have the unit for about three (3) weeks and the batter is no longer able to charge when connected to the power supply that came with the unit. I checked the AC adapter to make sure that it was properly connected to PC and it was. I plugged it to different outlets and it didn't help. I bought a replacement powersupply from my local MicroCenter and still nothing. I checked the Control Panel, open up the Power Options to see if there were any settings in there but nothing to show why it wasn't chraging. Then Opened the Device Manager. Under "Batteries" I saw two items, one for the battery and another listed as "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery". I Opened each item, which will brought up the Properties window. Under the "Driver" tab looked for "Update Driver." I went through the two options and did the same process of updating drivers. I went through the driver update process for all options. Once the drivers are all up to date, I rebooted the laptop and plug it in again. Then i unninstalled "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" completely and reboot. Still the problem persists.  I even updated all the windows Updates. Then I opened Lenovo's Companion app. I updated all the drivers that need updating and nothing changed. I still have my PC connected to AC power and the battery isn't charging. I opened the lenovo setting app and checked under battery section... Read more

A:Lenovo Yoga 720 13IKB No longer charging

Is it not charging at all, or just stuck at around 60%.    I ask because there i an option in Energy Management to select Maximum Battery Life, or Optimized Battery Health, and if set the latter (which I believe is the default), it will only charge to about 60 percent of capacity in an attempt to prolong the life of the battery.    Setting it to Maximum battery life will allow the batter to charge to 100% and you will get a longer run time, but you may have to replace the battery sooner.     If you leave the laptop usually plugged in, then optimized batter health is the better option. Cheers,

I am going to detail my experience connecting my brand new Lenovo Yoga 920-13IKB-80Y70063US to my also brand new LG 43UD79-B 43" Class 4K UHD IPS LED Monitor which has a USB-C port in addition to its 2xHMDI/DP/2xUSB3.0 ports. First of all , it works! I get both power delivery and am able to extend the screen onto the monitor in 4K resolution using one USB-C cable. I am writing here to help others, but also because there is a power cycling order in which it does not work, which I would like to know if someone knows what it is. If I play with it enough, I get back to making it work again, but have not figured out the order of rebooting, connecting and disconnecting cables where it consistently works. Power delivery is always working through the cable, the monitor extension is what I have to play to get it working. OK, so here are the steps I need to get these to to work together: 1 - After unboxing Yoga 920, run windows update and reboot several times until it says there is nothing else to update. (windows 10) 2 - Used Google Chrome as Web browser 3 - Go onto LG website to update Drivers/Software:http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-43UD79-B#manuals43UD79 Win10 R3 Driver LG_ULTRA_HD.zip 36K[Windows] OnScreen Control - version 2.82 Win_OSC_2.82.zip 111138K 4 - Purchase USB-C to USB-C CableThis one worked for me :https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L0F6IK4[USB-IF Certified] Cable Matters USB 3.1 Type-C (10 Gbps) Gen 2 Cable with 4K Video & Po...
