I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Computer booted up today and after several minutes maybe a half hour, I got a message that "Adobe Flash has an update. if you do nothing, it will be automatically installed within 45 days, or you can download it now." Nothing open, just the Desktop. Well, I closed out and did nothing, because Windows 10 normally updates Flash Player without notices.

I checked Windows Update and a new version of Adobe Flash was installed today automatically. Just giving those a heads up that you might want to close the Window if you see that message. Don't know if it could lead to malware or not. Some of you may get this message in Windows 10, so I just wanted to give you a heads up notice. I don't know if this message was legit or not. I have never had an issue like this before.

First let me say.. I probably do less with my computer than most.. I use it to browse and that is mostly it..

Every since I got this 8.1 computer it has nagging problems come and go and some , maybe wrongly, I have just learned to live with.

Now .. and I have not changed anything, however. for no reason that I can clue in on.. I am getting a pop up.

I have rebooted several times.. Searched the internet .. It seems I again have a problem that was solved in some means in 2011 or 2012 but unheard of in 2015..

any help on this one..??

I downloaded the installer, and clicked install etc, and when it's installing it gives an error that there is not enough free space (5mb), while i have 900 gigs free space left. I think it might have to do with the fact that my driver is called H: instead of C: for whatever reason, but it's really strange. I tried changing the path letter from H: to C: but windows xp didn't let me

OS: Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64
Primary browser: Opera (stable)

I know Flash is *supposed* to be included in all versions of 8/8.1, but it's my understanding that this generally only applies to Internet Explorer, not 3rd-party browsers. Most other browsers still need to have their own specific version of Flash for that particular browser.

I can watch YouTube, etc, in IE and Opera, but certain sites (in Opera) say I still need to install Flash and won't play videos until I do, I've done this before, it solved the issue, and Flash worked on all websites that support it. And I know these messages I'm getting aren't malware, popups/popunders, etc, I'm not an average user and know how to keep my PC clean and distinguish these kinds of things. Also, I don't want to install Firefox, Chrome, etc, just to watch videos on my favorite sites, anyone who suggests this will be dismissed out of hand and without consideration. Opera has been my main browser for years and Flash has never failed to install on any Windows OS/browser, up until now.

How can I resolve this? Is there a way to completely purge all traces of Flash from 8.1 and do a clean install? I've tried rebooting and then running the installer again, but it just gets to 90%, hangs there for a minute or so, then gives a failed message. I've ran an sfc /scannow, no corrupt system files found. All available Windows Updates are installed, drivers are up to date.

Thanks for any help!

Popup occurred after installing recent updates and restarting computer. Security error #2148: SWF file. I don't know what to do. The pop-up keeps appearing and have no idea what I'm suppose to do. Could this have been caused by the IE Flash Player for Windows 8.1 for 64-based Systems KB3087916 that was installed today? The popup has a "dismiss...." or something to that effect, option as well. What do I do?

A:HELP NEEDED RE Adobe Flash Player - ActionScript Error

Hi Juliet
This is for win 8.1 but I think 7 is roughly the same.
Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features\Installed Updates
and click on kb3087916 and then click uninstall.
Some people would say you need to boot windows in safe mode to do this. I would recommend you do this if it makes you feel safer, but this is the problem update - I haven't had the error since.
Windows will keep trying to install this update until hell freezes over, so go into control panel/windows update and select the "Download updates but let me choose" option. Windows will not then automatically install updates that cause problems should then give you the option of unchecking the problem one.

Regards, Shadow.

Firefox just updated automatically. Then there appeared a screen saying to update Adobe Flash Player now. I didn't know what Adobe was (such a newbie) so I did a search and came up with many complaints about it.

It said it was for IE, Firefox and a couple of other browsers. I looked at the instructions where there were specific instructions for browsers but nothing for Firefox.

Do I really need this? Can I just keep using the version I have?

I occasionally use IE - will I have to update that too?

Obviously, I'm nervous about something going wrong with no tech to walk me through it.

When I go to certain websites, including certain myspace sites, I get a message that says something to the effect of "Either your JavaScript is disabled or you need to install the latest version of Adobe Flash player." I know that my Javascript is enabled. I've checked it like 15 times. My problems comes when... well.... it SAID that it installed successfully, but I can't find it anywhere. I have rebooted and gone back to the websites and it STILL says that I need to install the latest version. I've installed and reinstalled Adobe Flash Player and each time it tells me that it was installed successfully. I've looked om my computer and I can't find the program anywhere. I've searched everywhere.... so pretty much.... it says it installs successfully, but i sure can't find it and it sure isn't working...

Are you referring to a video from email attachments or links?

What's the format for the videos? .flv?
If the videos are indeed from email attachments, and the format is .flv, you'll need a player capable of opening this type of file on your hard drive, not in streaming, in which case the Adobe Flash Player would work.

If you wish to play the videos on Windows Media Player, then you'll need the proper codec to play .flv videos.

Otherwise, many players will play that video format specifically, but if you're gonna download a player, might as well be the best, which can play just about everything, VLC Media Player.

I understand Adobe Flash will not update due to brccmctl.

Have you tried HardBeatZ's suggestions to locate the program?  The program that brccmctl refers to is ControlCenter3 which is printing software for Brother's printers.

By chance, do you use a Brother printer?  If so, you can ensure that any brother process is ended in the task manager (right-click the task bar to get task manager).

The simplest option may be to temporarily disable the startup programs to update Adobe and then re-enable the startup prorams.  This can be done by going to start, searching for msconfig, opening this result, and unchecking the startup items.  Once Adobe is installed, go back to msconfig to enable the startup programs.

Let me know what happens.

Hi, I have a Hp Pavilion g7 laptop running windows 7- 64 bit.  I recently updated several files suggested by microsoft.  I use firefox as my web browser.  I've started having problems with Adobe Flash player.  I continuously get the error box message: "Adobe Flash Player 12.0 r0 has stopped working" and I have the option to either "search for a solution and close program" or simply "close program."  When I press either option or simply try to close the box, it immediately pops up again. What started as an intermittent issue has become constant, to the point that I have to disable flash in order to click anywhere else on the screen or even access other tabs.  And now I occcasionally get an "unresponsive plug-in shockwave flash player may be busy or may have stopped working" error box as well.  I've tried uninstalling flash it and installing it again.  Tried disabling acceleration.  All my add ons are up to date.  Not sure what else I can do and would appreciate any suggestions.  I have the detailed crash reports if you need them.
Thanks so much.

Sorry for the triple posting. Each time I sent this, nothing happened on the screen so I kept trying again and again.

I need some advice about a problem with Adoble Flash Player.

If I install it, it will run for a while and then quit working within a day. Uninstalling and reinstalling with the Adobe uninstaller will bring it back.

I have Zone Alarm on my computer but it is not the problem because I have turned it off and that does not make any difference at all.

It looks like something is interfering with it but I have no idea of how to find out what is causing the problem.

Anyone experienced a similar problem?

I have Windows 7 - 64 bit. Several sites have requested I download Adobe Flash Player 11. But after installation, it caused several websites to "load weird" when using Mozilla browser. These included Yahoo Mail, Facebook & Swagbucks. When I downloaded program to remove the Adobe Flash Player, the problem was corrected. Some sites won't let me view videos with Flash Player. What do I do. Like Mozilla best....and hate switching over to IE, just for a few sites. Can anyone help??
