Intel UHD 620 Code 43 issue / thunderbolt related

Q: Intel UHD 620 Code 43 issue / thunderbolt related

Hello everyone, I'm currently setting up a P50 (i7-6820, M2000M, FullHD IPS, no pantone) as offline media workstation with Win7 64bit (for software compatibility) and I'm running into 2 problems when installing drivers that may or may not be related to one another: 1. Nvidia M2000M | has been halted code 43> drivers are up-to-date, checked various sources (Nvidia and Lenovo), no matter which one I install, the M2000M will always run into code 43. 2. Thunderbolt | after unpacking the driver and hitting the "start installation" button, there is no installation process, not visibly, but you can also see that there's no process running in task manager, etc. After several tryouts I desperately finally installed the wifi driver and ran Lenovo System Update, but this doesn't help either. No change of "behavior". 1st question: are thunderbolt and graphics drivers related / dependent?2nd. Anybody else who maybe had these issues in the past or can shed a light on this otherwise? Thank you all! Best,BL

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi

I'm trying to get my local area connection (see title for model) working, but it's telling me of a Code 10. It was working yesterday, but today....no such luck.

I tried replacing the cord, but nothing's happening.

I am running Windows 7 32 bit

Any suggestions?

Because I didn't liked USB 3.0 ethernet chipsets and USB-based ethernet cannot bear some network-intensive tasks, I wanted to use PCIe-based Thunderbolt ethernet controller on my XPS 15 9550. As there is no Thunderbolt 3 "PCIe" ethernet adapter (except docks), I chose to buy Apple Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter and Thunderbolt 2-based ethernet adapter.
I plugged it into the XPS 15 9550 (tested with BIOS 1.1.19, 1.2.14, 1.2.16 and latest Thunderbolt firmware with NVM version 16), and the PCIe device did not pop up. Instead, only USB billboard device is appearing saying that "Alternate Mode configuration not attempted". Both Windows 10 and Ubuntu 16.10 failed to detect the device. I moved this configuration to MSI GS63 laptop, and it detected ethernet controller successfully (that laptop utilizing NVM firmware version 18).
It seems that other vendors are affected with lower NVM firmware version involving setup with Thunderbolt adapter: see the case of Lenovo too. Do you have planned Thunderbolt NVM firmware update for XPS 15 9550? Looks like XPS 13 9360 is using newer Thunderbolt NVM firmware version, though.

My X1 Gen 5 is having an intermittent issue coming out of standby when connected to the Thunderbolt 3 gen 1 dock (FWIW conencted via TB3 to a P32u). Windows version is 1809 with all latest updates installed. Latest dock firmware and driver installed.  Instead of coming out of standby, the laptop often restarts. Analysis of memory.dmp using WinDbg, gives the reason as DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE ("The power transition timed out waiting to synchronize with the Pnp subsystem"). FAULTING_MODULE points to HDAudBus.sys. This issue was not present prior to installing latest dock firmware and/or latest dock software (however, I suspect the former rather than the latter as the audio driver doesn't appear to have changed in the latest driver compared to the previous version). Any ideas/solutions? Thanks. (**bleep**, maybe posted in wrong forum as forum choice got reset after logging in!)

Every other software installes fine, except this one. This is making it so my docking station doesn't work. The LAN won't work, as well as USB. This is on an X1 Yoga 2nd Gen. I've tried to manually install the driver as well and it won't install. I called lenovo and they just sent a tech to come replace the system board, which obvioulsy did nothing. Please give me some troubleshooting steps! Thanks in advance!

Hi all, Just recently got my hands on a shiny new W541 and it's hooked up to my Apple Thunderbolt Display using the Thunderbolt port. While this works, the fans are really loud when i.e. opening programs, new tabs in browser etc. I figured that it's because it uses the built-in Intel graphics GPU. Is there any way to "tell" it to use the Nvidia GPU for the thunderbolt port instead of the built-in one? :-) Thanks in advance. All the best, Bo

A:W541 thunderbolt display using intel graphics

Take it up with Lenovo, or buy a dock (apparently that's the solution Lenovo had in mind)!!!

In theory, if the BIOS of the W540 behaved like the BIOS of the W530, then it should allow you to choose whether you want to use built-in Intel HD Graphics exclusively (W530 "integrated") or nVidia Graphics (W530 "discrete graphics"), or some dynamic performance-dependent combination (i.e. W530 "Optimus Mode").  This should be true (and IS true for the W530) no matter whether you're talking about the laptop screen, external monitors connected directly to ports on the W530 laptop, or whether you use external monitors connected through a dock.

The only "wrinkle" for the W530 is that if you have Optimus specified on the W530 then all external monitors are always 100% managed by the nVidia graphics (no matter whether connected directly to the laptop or connected through a dock). So with the W530 in Optimus mode it is actually only the laptop screen which can be controlled by either Intel or nVidia graphics.  For most uses it will be the Intel graphics that controls the laptop screen, unless program graphics performance requirements (as determined by the firmware) find that nVidia is required.  Additionally, you can use nVidia Control panel to theoretically "force" nVidia graphics for specific program windows, but in my experience that doesn't seem to work consistently.

But this very precise choice in the BIOS where the machine actually behaved exactly a... Read more

Can it be expected the firmware piece will not be added to the third party catalog? it seems odd only half the solution would be added. ie: n22th06w.exeThunderbolt Firmware Update UtilityVersion:17.0.0.3-N22TF16W please confirm? thanks in advance,Sean

Grettings all, In our enviornment we've been fighting an ongoing battle with monitors flickering on our T480 and T490 computers using Thinkpad Thunderbolt 3 docks. To try and remediate this we've been installing the updates posted in https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/sk/en/solutions/ht508988. On the T490 models, we've been able to update the laptops without issues as the firmware will run on any computer running Windows 10 1809 or later. For our T480 computers, however, you can only update the firmware on computers running 1809 or older (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/sk/en/solutions/ht508988). We are currently in the process of rolling out Windows 10 1903 to our users so this is a pretty major obstacle in troubleshooting issues with docks. Is an update planned for this firmware package to acomidate newer Windows 10 operating systems and if so is there an estimate with regards to when it will be released?

I have a P50 with the Intel 530 video and the HDMI and Thunderbolt ports have stopped working.  Lenovo has replaced the motherboard and they work on the tech's flash Ubuntu OS so it's not the hardware. On 10/24, during the Lenovo or Windows scheduled updates, I see some changes to the video driver.  That's when they stopped working.  I tried roll back but it doesn't work.  I have read previous posts on P50 HDMI issues and have updated the BIOS, Firmware and Thunderbolt software.  I've run all Windows and Lenovo updates.  Of particular importance, Lenvovo keeps trying to push a large "Thinkpad Video Features" update on me but it won't install.  It says it is for Nvidia N16S and Quadro 16P so that makes sense to me, I just don't know why it keeps trying to push it down to me. Anyone experience this issue?  The screen shots show the Lenovo update they are trying to push on me and the updates to the display adapter driver that occurred on 10/24.  Since then it just hasn't worked.

I am trying to connect my Yoga 720-15IKB laptop via Thunderbolt 3 directly to an LG display that supports 5120x2160 resolution. I have confirmed that the LG display works at this resolution via Thunderbolt 3 with my MacBook Pro. However the Yoga 720 laptop does not allow me to exceed 3840x2160 resolution. I have updated to the latest drivers (Intel Graphics 26.21.14.3086, Nvidia Geforce 430.86). I did some research and found that the Intel HD Graphics 630 onboard adapter cannot exceed 4K resolution, but the nVidia Geforce GTX 1050 can go to much higher resolutions. I have tried to get the nVidia GPU to activate by going to the nVidia control panel and setting it to be the default adapter for 3D rendering and PhysX etc. However so far it has not worked. Also the BIOS does not provide a discrete-GPU-only option. So I have 2 questions: 1) Can I display 5120x2160 resolution from my Yoga 720-15IKB laptop via Thunderbolt 3?2) Is there a way of forcing the computer to use the nVidia GPU only? And will this potentially allow me to exceed the 4k resolution limitation of the Intel HD Graphics 630 GPU?

The system has Thunderbolt firmware updates and a Thunderbolt controller driver.  I do not know if your system would need the firmware but did you install the controller driver?  If so, did it install OK?
Video might be involved with the Secure Boot situation.  Were the Thunderbolt boot settings enabled in the Bios?
I have a TB 16 dock through which I have connected a monitor and it seems to work OK.  Whether it is available for boot, I do not know.
Do you have a model for the external graphics card so perhaps I could understand how that connection is being made?
On another subject, is your system making any strange noises?

I have recently purchased a YOGA 920 and a HP Omen egpu enclosure. I am having problem connecting it to my laptop. First, I tried both port, there's the sound of connect and disconnect, and nothing shows on the laptop, and the laptop is not charging. I have tried with power cable connected, and now it was connected. The egpu still was not charging (no power delivery), and it only works one port 2 (port closer to touch pad) with charger connected to port 1. If I switch them, the laptop goes blue scree. I can remove the power after it is connected but then there is no power supply. It is kind of similar to the issue as MrKnowNothing https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/YOGA-920-Thunderbolt-3-Port-No-devices-fou.... I have tried different drivers but all of them do not work. I have updated BIOS and Type-C firmware from Lenovo to the most recent version. One more thing. Is it normal that thunderbolt controller is not showing up in device manager when nothing is connected? I think it is not supposed to work like this and the egpu should have power delivery to my laptop. Even if there is no power delivery, it should still connect without power adapter connected. Is this hardware problem or driver problem? Is there anyone else have similar problems? Thanks!

Anyone see this issue before?

When I start the update, Thunderbolt doesn't appear in the device list. When the update starts, I briefly see the device in device manager, but then the update fails with this error. Then, Thunderbolt disappears from Device Manager. It's almost like Thunderbolt isn't turned on. I've tried disabling and reenabling in the BIOS to no avail.

So I just got my new P52 and am trying to figure out why the 2 back ports (USB-C Thunderbolt ports) are so slow???   I have a Samsung T3 that is a USB 3.0 device and when I plug it into the normal USB-A ports on the 2 sides it transfers just fine at 480MB/s like it is supposed to.  But when I plug that T3 into the USB-C port in the back, I get about 33MB/s, so basically 10x slower!!!  What gives, any advise would be great since tech support was no help.

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ca/en/solutions/ht508988/https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X-Series-Laptops/Updated-Critical-Intel-Thunderbolt-Software-a... Hi everyone, I purchased a X1 carbon 5th generation 20HR type on Aug 2018.However it does not charge on last october. I understand it was out of warranty back then. I just realized it wasn't a software/firmware update which can solve this issue, but my battery is completely dead. So I had no idea how to update the firmware.Even worse, I removed the original SSD from the laptop and wiped it, put it on my other PC as a secondary drive. So I cannot boot in my system.Any suggestion? Thanks

Alright guys, I'm getting this very frustrating error code that I've been trying to fix all day long but I still have no luck.

It basically makes me not able to simply use the Windows 8.1 freely. It appears everywhere and anywhere.

The error code is 0x80070005 or just 80070005. It makes me think its somehow .NET Framework related. I will post some screens to clearify and also point out why I think its .NET Framework related. I really have no clue on how to fix this no why it's appearing in the first place.

Alright, well, I started installing Autodesk Maya (I work in it) and everything seemed to be fine until the installer got to the point where it was supposed to install .NET Framework 3.5 and guess what happend. It just gave some unlogical error about me not being connected to the internet. Then I checked the log files and whoala:

It obviously points out that the error is somewhat related to frameworks.

Then I tried to manually install it from "Turn Windows features on or off" and guess what happens after some time once I click on the .NET Framework check-box :)

Then I decided to do a Windows Update since it has 17 crucial updates that it needs to install, but guess what error message appeared here ASWELL :)

Note the error code in all 3 pictures is the same. This is very frustrating.

I tried disabling firewall, windows defender, and I'm pretty sure I'm logged in as an Administrator.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try the Microsoft FixIt: Fix the problem with Microsoft Windows Update that is not working
If that fails, maybe this will help: Window update error "WindowsUpdate_80070005" - Microsoft Community

Read this first:

BCCode: 124
BCP1: 0000000000000000
BCP2: FFFFFA800AB07028
BCP3: 00000000B6000000

Kinda needs to fix this right now. could it be something wrong in orcs must die just?

A:Odd bsod. game related. Classic 124 code which say nothing.

Now please don't panic when I tell you this but, often times the stop error you are getting is caused by failing hardware, however it may be something else so let get to the trouble shooting portion of things. Firstly if you are over clocking anything please stop this error can occur because of a failed over clock. Next I notice that you dont have service pack 1 installed please install it as it contains a number of stability and security fixes:

Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

once that is done please check the mother board manufacturers website for updates to the Bios. When you are finished please post back your results.

Been receiving the Blue Screen of death recently when playing Warcraft III. I'll try test this further with other games and programs when I get a chance.

The error code is 0x000008E.

Looking it up I saw some varied results. Some people point to memory, windows points to graphic interface (which makes sense to me since it has only happened when playing a video game so far). Of course their only solution is updating the service pack, and mine is fully updated, with automatic updates turned on.

My computer is more than well equipped to run the game. It runs Fallout 3 just fine (save when my card starts to overheat). But when looking at my temps while playing WC3 they never come close to reaching the dangerous levels that cause my entire system to crash.

A:Error Code, Possibly Game Related

This problem mainly occurs due to a code problem in graphics device interface. This issue can be resolved by getting the latest service pack for Windows XP. Please follow the microsoft kb article id: 330187 for complete troubleshooting.
