I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, I have had the following happen to 2 different Lenovo Legion Y530 laptops in the last week. For the first laptop it was accidentally allowed to run down to zero. For the second laptop it was intentially run down to zero to try to recreate this problem.  Unfortunately it succeeded. Here are the steps:Laptop runs down to zero and shuts off.  When plugged in, on power on, states laptop was not powered down normally and then brings up Recovery screen (blue screen).  Claims missing or errors in iaStorAC.sys.  The first laptop problem claimed HAL.dll was missing or corrupt. From the blue screen, most options lead back to this recovery screen.  Only the BIOS options goes elsewhere. From the novo button, I've tried:- System Recovery - appears to work but returns to Recovery screen.- Restore from Restore point (after booting from USB) - claims it works (after some hd repair) and then returns to Recovery screen.- From command line, repairing the boot config data (ran into permission errors on some commands) - no success. I called Lenovo support and after verifying that the harddrive was still recognized by the bios, had me attempt System Recovery from the novo menu.  When that failed, claimed it was a hardware issue and needed to be sent in for repair.  Seems unlikely it would be the same hardware problem on 2 separate laptops.  It seems related to the power down corrupting the boot files. From the recent reviews at Bestbuy... I was playing CSGO (not a very intensive game) and I experience significant battery drain. I was at 100% and it drained to less than 10% in less than 2-3 hrs of gaming. Is the power brick (135w) not strong enough for the i7+1050ti? Anything I can do to improve my battery life? I had the screen at 100%, maybe turning it down could help. Not sure, Hoping for some help. thanks!

Hi,

Welcome to the forums.  Do you have Lenovo Vantage installed?  Under hardware settings is there something that looks like the below?  I have that option on my Thinkpad and I believe my nephew had it on his Ideapad too.

I got stuck on the automatic repair failed error message. So I searched for a lot of solutions which didn?t work so I decided to réinitialise windows because it has only been two weeks since I got it so it?s not a big deal. When it was done that?s when the problem started. When I press the power button, it displays the legion logo and i hear the fans and the keyboard LED?s light up but then it shutsdown and does the same loop ove and over again. I don?t know what to do.

So I have a Lenovi Legion Y530, I bought this very recently. Specs: i7 8750H, Gtx 1050Ti, 16 Gigs of Ram, 128Gb SSD, 1Tb HD. So I decided to overclock my gpu (with Msi Afterburner) I increased the GPU clock by 350mhz, and the memory clock by 150mhz. I also undervolted the cpu by -0.140 volts. (I'm pretty sure this is the gpu's problem). I tried running Time Spy in 3DMark. This worked before I overclocked. While the benchmark was loading, it froze on the loading screen. Everything else worked, but I couldn't exit. It was just stuck on the screen. I couldnt enter task manager, or go to the desktop. My only option was to force shutdown. When I turned it on the Legion logo popped up and had the loading icon. Then it disappeared and nothing's loads after it, it stays as a black screen. Keep in mind that I don't have the tools to access the internals of the laptop. So I need a way to fix it someway else. Thanks in advance.

How to solve it?This is the error message at when turning computer on.I went to the shop to change a laptop for the same new model. I've had my laptop for less than 2 months, but recently I got stuck in an auto-repair loop (possibly a virus), so I took my laptop to my university's tech center. Once there they wiped my laptop clean and installed a fresh install of Windows 10. A couple of my drivers got deleted like my mouse and wifi drivers, but they re-installed them there as well. Everything was fine just a little slow, I re-installed all my apps/games back. I never really checked for Windows 10 updates until a couple days ago because I randomly got this error when trying to play my games. It would say something like this: "ERROR: your video card does not support alpha blending with floating point render targets (D3DFMT_A16B16G16R16F)". I have a GTX 1050 ti, so I was really confused. I looked up how to fix it on other forums and even Reddit. Apparently, this happens when your laptop tries using the GPU built into the motherboard instead of the actual graphics card. Many suggested uninstalling the current GPU drivers and re-installing them. So that's exactly what I tried, but now whenever I try to express install the newest driver on Geforce Experience; it says "The Standard NVIDIA graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows. Please update your driver using...(website)". The website it gives is not even available, so I look up and manually try to download/install the driver myself, but it gives me the same message it did on Geforce Experience. So I finally decide to update Win... Read more

I am currently using my Lenovo 910 a few hours a week for about a year. The battery life has always been fantastic. Last week all of a sudden it was cut in half... now on a full charge, it only last 3 hours. Then on top of that, I noticed today while using the computer the battery would not charge very slowly and not all the way. I went through all the battery saving tips and I am still having the same issue. Was there an update that caused this or a driver I need to update? I have checked for updates through setting and everything seems ready to go. I am open to any ideas. This is so sad...

I'm assuming that this thread may not even receive any replies based on the times I've attempted to receive aid from any professional within the Lenovo community. I'll give it a shot anyways. Hello, I've had my Lenovo y40-70 for a little over a year (so that means my warranty is expired--do not tell me to use my warranty to fix my issue). After updating to Windows 10, I've had extremely bad battery life. It would drop from 100% to a hibernating state within the hour. Previously, I've received acceptable battery performance with maybe about 3-4 hours of usage. I've tried updating all my drivers and playing around with battery settings etc. I've uninstalled the energy manager application and am unwilling to perform a gauge reset due to the potential negative effects it may have on the my system. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this issue besides rolling back to Windows 8.1? Oh yeah, I've also tried calling Lenovo support but I was literally on the line for 2 hours listening to a song. Any help is appreciated. May have to end up getting a different laptop if this problem persists.

A:Battery Drain Lenovo y40-70

I have similar issues with my Y40.  Add to that a loss of notification when the battery is low, so the Y40 goes into Hibernate without warning.  Also the data displayed about the amount of charge remaining in the battery stays above 90% most the time while running on the battery, even after 90 minutes of use. Tried uninstalling and updating the Energy Manager. And have tried various adjustments to the power plans. Nothing has solved the problems of unpredictable and erratic battery life, or at least what the Y40 thinks the battery charge level is at.

A:Lenovo G50-80 battery drain upto 6% after 50%

Hi Abdul,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

Method 1:
Go to Device manager >>Battery and then uninstall the Microsoft ACPI- Compliant control method Battery and then restart and check...

Method 2:
Go to Energy Manager >> Maintenance Guide>> Gauge reset by plugging in the Adapter and leave it as it is.... This Gauge reset will charge the battery for 100% and then drains it to 0 % and then gives the pop up to restart... After restarting it should be fine....

Method 3: Use the One Key recovery...
I hope the above information helps.

Regards,
Shashi

Hello guys, Got Lenovo Y50-70 Touch laptop. So my problem is Battery drain during gaming. While my laptop is plugged in on power supply it still drains battery for example when I play "Dying Light". Any ideas why? please help.

A:Lenovo battery drain during gaming

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

What are the specifications of the charger / adapter you are using (voltage and amperage) ?

If it is a low wattage it may not be keeping up with the resource demands the laptop is requiring during gaming.  If the laptop is drawing more power than the charger / adapter can supply then it is drawing on the battery for the extra power.  I had a similar issue with another brand of laptop I owned and resolved the issue by upgrading the charger / adapter from 90 watt to 120 watt.  In my situation it would drain the battery just surfing the net and viewing videos for an extended period of time.  A side benefit of the higher wattage adapter is that it will charge the battery faster.

In checking the Hardware Maintenance Manual for your model it is shows that your computer could have been shipped with either a 45 watt adapter or a 135 watt adapter.  I suspect you have the 45 watt unit.  Please see page #97 of the manual for the adapter specifications.   Here is a link to that manual....

I have the Lenovo C930 4K model.  At the end of the evening I'll shut the computer down with a full charge.  Within 12 hours when I power it back on the next day it will have lost %15 to %20 battery power.  It seems to lose at that rate everyday it is shut down.  I had sent it in and all they did was re-image the PC.  I had an on-site tech look at in and he wanted to replace the battery at least but it seemed to be stuck in there.  I think I will be sending it in again.

Beware the Lenovo Vantage app. My PC (Carbon X1 gen 6) started to auto wake up every weekday morning at 05:30 from hibernate, even when I was away on holiday. I had a frustrating time trawling through scheduled tasks, power plan settings and device power settings, all to no avail. The powercfg sleep study and wake timer diagnostics did not help either - it just said unknown wake reason. The culprit? It's Lenovo's own app - Lenovo Vantage. There is a (new?) feature called Smart Standby that automatically set itself to ON. This automatically wakes your computer every weekday at 05:30 ready for work. It must save all of 10 seconds start up on my laptop. I've turned it off and hurrah, the PC stays hibernated. Also it fixes another issue - I found that the "Hibernate After" time setting was being changed from my value. Yes, Lenovo Vantage was silently zapping that too. So beware this dangerous app. Shame on Lenovo for turning this feature on by default and not explaining its consequences better.

Hello, I have ideapad y500 and  I've noticed that when ever I shut it off and power it back on the battery has drained. Its about 12% per night .. Its rly weird bcs i am not using "always on usb" or any others features. I think that it is HW bug or BIOS. I have noticed that when  i shut it down -> unplug the power cable then i remove and again attach the battery leave it for 12hours and there weren't any battery drain. So it only appears when i just unplug the power cable and leave it. I have read some topics(some ppl have the same problem) but i haven't find any solution. Is there any solution to solve this problem?? Bios version is the latest one.. I haven find any newest bios ver on your website.  Tomas

I'm assuming you have win 8. Try this:On the Windows 8 Start Screen, press CNTL + ALT + DEL.On the next screen select the Power icon located in the lower Right. When the options appear, press the SHIFT key and select "Restart". When the next screen appears, select "Turn off your PC". The unit will power down completely.See if you still have the battery draining.Note: Even if the unit is off, a little drain is expected to maintain the clock, etc.

I'm having an issure with a significant battery drain when the notebook is shut down. In couple of days being switched off and not in use, battery loses around 10-15% or even more. I have tried to disable always on USB in the bios as well as the quick start of Windows 10. It didn't help. I still lose  the battery charge. Specifically to investigate the issure I'm leaving the notebook for few days closed laying around aside and then turning it on. Last time I did it the battery was entirely dry - I received a bios warning with the beep about critical battery level and computer didn't turn on normally untill I pluugged the power cable. This shows that battery charge loss is significant and out of control. Extremely frustrated that such a premium computer I bought for traveling and long-lasting off-home usage has battery issure of that kind and can't provide longevity and service it was bought for.Diagnostic tool shows the battery is almost new, 99% of health. Some screenshots with the battery information are attached. My specs are Windows 10 1903, 256gb 2,5'' SSD, 8GB RAM, i7 5600U CPU. I saw quite a few forum posts about similar issure with other models as well, and there were different bios fixes and updates solving the issure (for the most part). Maybe there is something systematic is going on and must be taken into a closer look and serious consideration? I really hope engineers will investigate the issure and release a fix for that model as well, because... Read more
