I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

huslin, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Did you remember to install the driver for the video car,

or is it running on the default Windows driver?

I wanna ask. If I get new graphic card, will it improve FPS in game?
I currently have "Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 Green, 512MB" since its ~4year old I was thinking to buy new on soon. In interest is GeForce GTX 650Ti or something near to it.

A:Graphic Card, FPS in game

With what you have and with what you're looking at, there should be a rather large improvement.

Alright guys i'm new in this forum first thread but i was really noob when i bought a graphic card for my pc and now i dont have enough cash for a new one, anyway i bought a nvidia geforce 8400 gs 512mb card and when i play any game at all it lags so i played in low settings but then in nvidia control panel i say that anti aliasing and all that was on quality (which in game wasnt even there -.-) but i turned it on max performance and it still runs a little slow and the games i still have to play on low quality settings to have smooth game play, my pc is also good specs are: core 2 duo E7400 @ 2.80Ghz 6gb ddr2 ram. The other problem is i have temporary removed my graphic card and am using internal GPU which has ded vid mem of 128mb but in bios setting i put it on max and i used CpuZ to see how much max is and it shows 320mb but on Personalization>Display settings>Advanced settings it still shows 128mb is there a solution to increase this and is there a solution to run games smoothly on my nvidia graphic card?

Your graphics card is outdated. You should be able to play older games smoothly on it, but newer games will struggle. What games are you wanting to play on this computer?

Hey out there,

I came upon this site via Google and saw a "thread" from Brenda about the Legos Star Wars game and a graphic card that supports Pixel Shaders v1.1. I read some of the responses which prompted me to visit the Toshiba webpage. I downloaded the detailed specifications for my laptop but I still can't figure out if I have PCI card or AGP card port. I tried to put the information into the designated slots for the registration profile but there is not enough room. I am a Mom of a 10 yr old who was given this game for his birthday in June. I have just finally come upon this website mentioning the same problem. Our laptop is not very old, maybe 2 years. Any help in directing me where to look on these specs for the card info. I need would be greatly appreciated. I see it says expandability "1 PC Card slot support 1 Type II PC card". Is that what I'm looking for? Hey, I email and can find things I need on the web but games are beyond me. I'm just trying to see if I can get this Lego game working without having to buy a new computer.

Thanks for your time and comments.

Hi.

PC is 3/4 years old with new PSU and HDD in use.
PC was fine after new hardware install.

Had my graphics card OCed for a while (1 year) and had no problems with gaming until about 1 month ago
to which i started getting freezes playing World of warcraft.

I have stopped OCing but this hasnt effected anything.
These freezees still occur in game only but BSOD's happen randomly no matter what.

These BSOD's have only just started.

I haven't ran any tests yet as i wanted to ask for your opinion first with my crash result.

Updated my ATI drivers but had no effect.

Thanks in advance.

Ok, I have read everything I can find and I feel like my head is spinning. I just received a game for my son (Zoo Tycoon 2) we have been playing the demo from the web site and had accidently purchased marine mania and dino digs first. Now I am trying to start it and I don't have the proper graphic card. I have Intel 82810E. The message I get from thier "help menu" says - Intel 82810E - due to limitations with direct X compliance of these graphics chips the game will not start. Driver updates do not resolve issue. Which is true after reading one of the top threads that says to read before posting, I tried all those things and nothing worked. I guess I have to buy or download a new graphic card? I don't know much about computers so my question is - can I find a site, like this one or majorgeeks where I can download a more updated graphic card or is this something that actually has to be purchased and installed in my computer "physically"?

Heya.. I've been searching for an answer to this question all over the internet for about a week now, and I still haven't found anything, so I thought, that I write here...
There's absolutely no problems with MAFIA installation, as I know, many people do. Also, I've reinstalled it about five times, so don't recommend that to me. When I open the game, then first of all, NOD32 determines something.. if you think, that it would help, if I wrote here, what it actually says, then I will write it here, but you gotta let me know. Besides, there's nothing that could be a virus, I have original CD's, right from Gathering of Developer's. Then I close NOD32 form task manager, and open Mafia again (the last time nothing but the NOD note appeared). This time is almost the same, only without the NOD notification. When I look at the task manager processes, then Game.exe appears for a half of a second, but that's all, and even that isn't happening every time. Once, way back, about 3 months ago p) it gave me 'Init error'. Then I looked up in the internet and Illusion Softworks had said, that most of the 'Init errors' comes from the graphic card drivers or not updated DirectX. DirectX is up to date, but here comes my problem, there's just no drivers for my graphic card on ATI website. Ofcourse, I've looked from other sites but still notning normal..

Now clearly: If I open Game.exe, nothing happens, what to do? I ... Read more

Ohai.

I'm copying this straight from the Steam forums, where I originally posted it. Unfortuantely no one there was able to help me (no replies AT ALL). So if you don't understand some terms about Team Fortress 2 or any of the update names, just ignore them and interpret them as a name.

Ever since the Manniversary Update for TF2, I've been experiencing noticeable lag.

Before the update I played at a smooth and fairly regular 60 FPS. Now I'm fairly happy to get 30 FPS.

I am not aware of any programs I installed or settings I changed around the time of the update, but I don't think anything I did would have affected it.

Here's a quick rundown (from memory) of the settings I was on:
Texture, Models etc: High (recommended)
Reflective water models, shadows, lighting etc: All on (recommended)
AA: 4x, Anisotropic: x8 (recommended)
Multicore rendering: On (not recommended)
Direct X Level: 9 (despite I have 11 on my system)
Multiplayer Decals: 200
Those are the main settings I remembered. After realising what multicore rendering was, I checked it back to off (as my GPU doesn't have more than one core).

About a week ago I decided to forgo the nice graphics a bit and dropped AA from x4 to x2 (NOTE: Steam/TF2 recommended x4). It increased performance by about 20% or so. I'm still having serious issues when:
Looking over a vast area. This is clearly obvious when playing cp_manor on the first red point or out of blue spawn. Makes sniper harder to play.
Heavy, intense firefigh... Read more

A:Game lags despite graphics card is not at 100%

I've experienced the same drop in performance in tf2 since the last few updates. I can only blame the update as I know nothing has changed for my system in the meantime.
All my other games work fine too, I was also forced to add a launch command as my voice stopped working without it.
This kind of stuff happens fairly often with software that is updated so regularly.

I have posted on the OP board because I was having all kinds of little problems and have been narrowing everything down for weeks now. I think I may be having a hardware vs software problem. In August I downloaded a new driver for my Nvidia GEForce 4 TI4200 graphics card. Since that time I am being constantly booted out from my online game. I redownloaded the same driver again and it is still not helping. I went back and read some literature on the driver and seems they highly recommend removing any current driver before downloading a newer version. Im now wondering if this is the problem because I did not do this. Also if I now go in and remove the Nvidia driver how will the graphics work without a driver until I go to Nvidia's site and again download the new driver?

A:online game/graphics card drivers

SImple. Download the driver first, then delete your current driver from device manager, then restart the computer if it asks u.
Then install the new driver.
The graphics card will still work without the driver, because well I am guessing that windows has one of 'em "standart graphics controller device" drivers.

hello everyone! i currently have THIS PC and its good enough specs to game! well all but the graphics, it will run games now such as black ops 2 easily but i need dedicated graphics for some games. My problem is, I would like to put a graphics card inside but it's a very VERY low power psu (300W) so is there a affordable graphics card that would let me run other games ? such as blacklight retribution?

Thank you

A:A graphics card good enough to game with a 300W psu to run it?

I don't think there's much you can get really. On the Nvidia side there's cards like the GT430 and GT630 that require a 300w PSU. They should be able to handle Black Ops 2 and Blacklight Retribution. Not sure what there is that AMD offer. Above the GT430 and GT630 you ideally need a 400w or 500w PSU.

Hello All,

Normally I can deduce enough information from Google and searching for the errors that I might get but right now I'm stumped. I just gotten a new MSI N560-GTX-Ti 1mb Graphics Card and replaced my old nvidia 8800GT (which had fan speed issues). I had a very stable system as I used MSI afterburner to up the fan speed to 100% which ran fine for a month or so, but I was a bit nervous at some of the heat readings I was getting so I opted to get another card.

Since putting this in 3 days ago I've been through all sorts of hell with it. I play Perfect World International and when playing the game I have had all sorts of bug reports (crashes) and 3 blue screens all pointing to different things. I've tried compatibility mode changes and everything I can think of but nothing has worked.

So far I have used memtest86+ overnight and memory is fine (as I said soon as I put in other graphics card it had these errors). I have also ran stress tests on the new graphics card and it's all passed with flying colors so I don't see bad memory or cpu on the graphics card. DI have monitored it's temps and it's not even broken 60 yet so I know it's not overheating. I am beginning to think it may have to do with the power supply. I will post up all the dmp files from minidump and system specs and see if we can agree it maybe be just buying a better power supply for the system, or if it may be something else I didn't think of checking.

Hey everyone, been a while now

So i got a new computer, happened to be an emachine. Knowing that emachines usually fail within a year, I replaced the powersupply with a Rosewill 300w ATX Power Supply. Since my older computer fried due to a powersupply failure, I decided to test my old parts in the new computer. I added 512MB Kingston ValueRAM, a GeForce FX5500 PCI Video card, my old hard drive from my old machine, and a new optical drive, a CD-RW 48x drive. After installing and configuring all the parts, and chaecking that all the parts worked, I went on to play World of Warcraft. After about 2 hours of play the screen began to flicker, and my framerate went down to around 7 fps. Then the screen went totally blank and the monitor read [[NO SIGNAL]]. I tried installing the latest drivers for the video card, but the same problem happened again. To me, it seems like it was overheating. The fans were running at full blast. What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance

well, i bought a pack of new games (EA NHL, NFL, NBA, Nascar, and TW golf), but i've been having a problem with them ever since i started playing them: whenever i play them (fullscreen), after about a minute of playing time, the game will minimize and my computer will go back to the desktop screen... this will continue happening about every minute, so i have to click on the taskbar button to maximize it again... it gets extremely annoying, although NHL automatically pauses, the rest of the games keep on playing, so i'll maximize Nascar 2004 and there will be a pile up because i ran into the wall... anyway, does anyone know what that could be?

Second, i have a computer with integrated graphics ( Intel Extreme graphics 82845G) but my computer only came with PCI ports, so i can't get the AGP or PCI Express graphics cards. Could someone recommend me a good card for under $150 or so? I've been thinking about getting a Geforce FX5500 128 MB, or a or a Radeon 9250 256 MB(which is what i think i'll get) but some recommendations would be good (specifying a brand would be good too because i'll see pretty much the same card but the price will vary like 40 bucks)...
I have:
Windows XP Home edition
Intel Pentium 4 2.80GHz
512 MB RAM

A:Annoying game probelm/ suggestions on new PCI graphics card

I'm not sure what the issue could be, have you done recent antivirus/antispyware scans? Do you have recent graphics drivers?

The walmart near me has a bfg 5500 OC Pci graphics card for about $130 usd. It's the best 5500 AFAIK, because it's overclocked from the factory(runs faster than normal 5500's).

5700le's are also decent, but only if you can get a 128bit memory interface one, almost all of them are 64bit memory.

My adapter type is: ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So, I was playing a game (Dying light) and all of a sudden my screen goes black and about 5 seconds later audio stops. This has never happen before and now it won't stop happening. Whenever I play any game or bench mark soft ware my pc goes trough this process of crashing.

Specs:
Mobo: Asrock Z97 Extreme6
Gpu: Gigabyte geforce GTX 970 windforce
Cpu: i7-4790k
Ram: 4x4 gig Redline Munchkin
Psu: Corsair CX750M

The setup as descibed has worked without any form of problem whatsoever. Also I played dying light some 5 hours before it crashed.
Any sort of help is welcome.

Blue Screens? If so, go to C:\windows\minidump and select all the .dmp files. Right-click sending the files to a compressed(zipped)folder. Upload this folder as a file here...

Hello,

I have an Nvidia (eVGA) 7600gt graphics card running the latest Forceware drivers. I play an online shooter called WarRock (much like CounterStrike).

For some reason when I am in game, the game will just suddenly freeze for a period of about 20 seconds to 1 minute and then go back to working just fine. This will happen several times during the game. When the game freezes, I can still hear sound.

It does not freeze when in just regular Windows OS.

Why would it be doing this? I have not had a chance to test it in other games, but my friends say that they have never experienced a freeze up like that in WarRock. Any solutions?

I have had this card for about 8-9 months and have never had it happen. It has only now started happening.

Also, one other question about the fan on a GPU. Is it supposed to suck air inward (toward the card) or blow outward (away from card)?

Thanks!

A:Nvidia (eVGA) 7600gt graphics card freezing quite often in-game

This can be any number of reasons having to do with the hardware on your video card. First, I'd keep the Forceware software running in the background and do a quick alt+tab to see if you’re overheating. Overheating will cause your VPU to crash and the VPU recover(er) (whatever Nvidia calles it) to try to bring it back. You could also try using bare min graphics settings to see if that has any effect. If none of that helps, try uninstalling all the Nvidia software and drivers and let Windows update install its driver and see if that changes (you can always re-install forceware). If none of that works, you'll need to locate another video card (borrow one if possible) and install its drivers to see if that has effect.

As for your other question, I'm not sure on that model but in general, the fan should suck fresh air past your medal heatsinks and out the other end.

First of all:
I don't know too much about computers, so use easy language please.

I have sent in my computer to get repaired and got it back yestersay. Since then i've been trying to get it to work properly again.
I can't play any of the games I used to play before I sent it in to get repaired (for example, Battlefield 3). I can start dota2 but it looks pretty messed up. I can run minecraft though ^^

Anyway, after a lot of questions asked, trying out different stuff and after getting further and further to the end of this problem I've come to this:

My computer shows me that I have an nvidia geforce 7025 nforce 630a graphic card.
Although it says in the computer description that it SHOULD have a AMD HD 6870 1GB GDDR 5.
My screen isn't plugged in the graphic card, since it doesn't recieve anything from there. It is plugged directly to the motherboard.
So, from what I understand the nvidia card is the integrated graphic card or am I totally wrong?

Anyway, the device manager can only find the nvidia card and I cannot run any game smoothly on this computer.
Before I realized this possibility I've tried to download newer drivers for the nvidia card, but it didn't help.

Please help me to get my ADM HD 6870 1GB GDDR 5 to run!
I'm trying to google for solutions, but I'll give this site a shot.
Thanks!

A:Graphic card isn't found. Only finds my integrated graphic card. Help!

first check they havent stolen you GPU
then check that the 4/8pin pci power supply is plugged into the top left of the motherboard.
then check the gpu has power cable(s) plugged in.

Hi, I have a EVGA e-GeForce 7600GT 256 MB PCIe Video Card which supports the SLI technology allowing me to link up 2 or more graphics cards for greater performance. Now this card has DDR3 memory. I wanted to know if I can link it up with a DDR2 memory graphics card which also supports SLI. If I can, how will this difference affect performance?

A:Linking a DDR2 memory graphics card with DDR3 SLI graphics card?

Which card?? "A card with DDR3 memory", or "A thingy with a red switch on it" tell us just as much.
But if it's not another 7600 GT you're trying to SLi, just forget it, especially if you're going to buy the other card.

Hello, i need to ask people of this problem because i cant figure this out...

Recently, iv upgraded from a GeForce 5500 (which had no problems in the past) to a GeForce 6200 (which is fine for me, out of date i know).. Im finding that whenever i open anything pretaining to Video games or even just random occurences, that it hard-locks and the graphics get very odd.

So, i figured that maybe my computer cant run the game. And it can. So i ruled out that aspect. So it must be my GeForce doing this to me.
So, does anyone have any idea what my problem is?
Side Note: It even has graphic problems on a game called Terraria (2D side scroller)

Hi for the last 4 months ive been trying to fix a problem that ive been having with my computer.
about 4 months ago I did a major pc upgrade where i replaced my motherboard, processor, ram, heat sink, power supply and case, the only things I used from the original computer where 2 HDD's, 1 SDD and my AMD radeon HD 6950 2gb.

Now ive have the most strange issue where i can be watching a video off the HDD or surfing the web on youtube etc and not long after I start the activity my computer will turn off like if I had flicked the switch on the back of the power supply and then it boots back up again and will run fine until i start up an activity again and then it does exactly the same thing and reboots, there is no BSOD shown nor Dumps Created.

Ive tried many things to sort this out and have RMA'ed the power supply and the motherboard (the motherboard wasn't a direct replacement as they didn't sell my original board anymore which was a gigabyte ga-x79-ud5, now i have an asus p9x79 deluxe). I have tried only plugging in one HDD/SSD and then tried a spare HDD when that failed, i have tried one ram stick at a time and still nothing.

now heres where it gets strange whilst trying to rule out differnt hardware i switched my AMD card out for a very old 512mb, pcie 1.0 x16 nvidia graphics and since then my computer has been running marvelously i can have it playing videos for hours, days even(although i havent properly tested for days) and not a single problem at all.

The comparison you are making between GPU brands is pointless as a diagnostic. The MAIN difference I can see is that one card requires external power, and the other one does not. A proper diagnostic would be to test another GPU that requires external power.

I've heard that the specific PSU you bought will sometimes not power all the hardware it is supposed so.
People saying it could barely power a SSD, or even an extra fan.

My thoughts. Try using another PSU, try using a similar GPU. Use your old PSU and see if it still happens for starters.
