Q: Opera open unrequest & inftected sites; Chrome open only blank pages... :/

Hello guys, I've found this forum from hjackthis webpages, hope someone can help me to get rid of my problem :/I've been infected some times ago (around 10 days), then I've scanned my pc with avg, kaspersky, windows security tools (or whatever it's called), spybot search & destroy and malwarebyte's antimalware softwares.... when, I thinked that I've got ridded of my problem, but I have not... (maybe I've removed some virues, but someone are still here I think). In fact, when I'm surfing around the web, sometimes a new tab are opened that direct me to hxxp://go-protect-my-system.xorg.pl/ , and other site that I think are others site with malware or whatever... This happened using Opera, plus Chrome does not work anymore... it opens only blank pages, I've tryed to reinstall it, nothing... probably it's the same malware/virus that infected my Opera browser?I've done the requested scans, hope someone can help me (sorry 4 my english)DDS (Ver_10-03-17.01) - Preferred Solution: Opera open unrequest & inftected sites; Chrome open only blank pages... :/

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi, I've performed more scans reading aroud your forms, hoping to get rid of the problem...or to collect at least more information...I've performed the ESET online scans, I've attached the log file...Plus I've noticed in the meanwhile another site that was opened without my will in Opera, when I was searching between web: hxxp://chatplanet.com/search.phpI'll think to perform tomorrow a combofix and dr.web run...just to see watch happened...I'll post the results===========Hello While we understand your frustration at having to wait, please note that Bleeping Computer deals with several hundred requests for assistance such as yours on a daily basis. As a result, our backlog is quite large as are other comparable sites that help others with malware issues. Although our MRT Team members work on hundreds of requests each day, they are all volunteers who work logs when they can and are able to do so. No one is paid by Bleeping Computer for their assistance to our members.Further, our malware removal staff is comprised of team members with various levels of skill and expertise to deal with thousands of malware variants, some more complex than others. Although we try to take DDS/HJT logs in order (starting with the oldest), it is often the skill level of the particular helper and sometimes the operating system that dictates which logs get selected first. Some infections are more complicated than others and require a higher skill level to remove. Without that skill level attempted removal could result in disastrous results. In other instances, the helper may not be familiar with the operating system that you are using, since they use another. In either case, neither of us want someone to assist you who is not familiar with your issue and attempt to fix it.We ask that once you have posted your log and are waiting, please DO NOT "bump" your thread or make further replies until it has been responded to by a member of the MRT Team. The reason we ask this or do not respond to your requests is because that would remove you from the active queue that Techs and Staff have access to. The malware staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response, there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MRT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond. That is why I have made an edit to your last post, instead of a reply. Please do not multiple post here, as that only pushes you further down the queue and causes confusion to the staff. Please note: you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a MRT Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer. Please be patient. It may take several days to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible. I advise checking your topic once a day for responses as the e-mail notification system is unreliable.Thank you for understanding.Orange Blossom ~ forum moderator

Don't know what it is, but it's got me all jacked up. Started getting the "Generic Host process for Win32 has encountered a problem..." message, then Chrome quit opening anything except the home page, Opera quit opening anything at all, IE works occasionally if address is typed; search engine results are usually redirected to odd pages--very seldom the same page twice. Safari works, but keeps opening new windows if it sits longer than 3 or 4 minutes with any activity. Now computer varies between operating fine and dragging drastically. Add/Remove Programs screen only populates about 50% of the time. Never a second time without rebooting. When it is up, no obvious programs show up. Avast finds nothing, MalwareBytes shows nothing.

Any help will be appreciated. I have limited time on computer right now due to long work days, but will check every couple of days for updates.

For a few days now, after getting one of those fake "antivirus" programs my Google Chrome browser is unable to open any pages. I can open them in IE and Firefox, but on those browsers any links I click typically get redirected to random advertisement websites rather than the page I'm trying to reach.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and thank you in advance for any help you can give me with this problem.#

Earlier this week AVG detected a trojan and successfully (or so I thought at the time) put it in the virus vault. After this, however, Opera and Chrome no longer launch and I cannot reinstall them. More troubling is that several times since AVG has again detected trojans and attempted to remove them. I have scanned with AVG and it found nothing so I tried superantispyware, which found some trojans and deleted them. However, later AVG detected and attempted to remove a trojan so I then downloaded spybot search and destroy and it also found more viruses and removed them. This too did not stop the messages. At this point I was desperate and ran combofix. I had not come across this forum at that point so I apologize for being an idiot and running that before consulting. I have not received any virus notifications since then, but my computer is now very buggy and slow (slow in the sense that it is pretty much impossible to do anything on it) whenever I plug in my wifi adapter. When the adapter has not been plugged in, it's useable, but still noticeably slower than normal. I ran dds and I can post the combofix log if need be. Thank you again.

I think my machine is in a bit of a trouble and I ran out of ideas how to fix it so I thought someone here might help me out.

I am running Windows 7 pro.

So I got a trojan malware thing from a website last night, i don't know how because Avast is running all the time. I booted in safe mode, ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware software and it got rid of it, or at least I think it did because now my pc is running fine and all those POP UPS (your computer is under attack of virus, run antivirus software, etc) from the malware are all gone. After that I ran the Avast antivirus scan on my C: drive and it didn't find anything.

None of the browsers are working, expect Opera USB ([email protected] : download your free version of mobile Opera:) which doesn't require installation and it just runs of the HD. The other browsers won't open any web page. Skype, utorrent

I uninstalled and installed all of them several times, and nothing. I uninstalled my wireless adapted, thinking that it might be the settings and that will reset everything, and that didn't work either, i ran CC clean, which deleted all the cookies and web history from Chrome, IE, and firefox... nothing. Now even tweetdeck won't run properly.

What should I do ?

A:IE8,Chrome,and Firefox won't open web pages

First off 3rd party programs like tweetdeck most likely will cause more problems than there worth. Utorrunt is a very good way to get all those bad things you had on your computer. I don't recommend using a torrent of any kind. Next because you can go on line with Opera download and install Super Anti Spyware, up date it and run. Also run again MAM in normal mode. Next open I.E. and go to Tools/options/connection and Lan setting. Make sure automatic detect setting is checked and the Lan is unchecked. If for what ever reason none of your browsers work there is another way we can go.
After all this get back to us Because there is more information.

recently started having some problems, certain web pages/sites wont open first noticed when I tried accessing wikipedia, I get the same page that is displayed when there is no internet access "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" and the diagnose connection button. some of the speed test sites wont load either, and top10.com returns a latency test error "latency test returned an error whist trying to read the latency file"
It does not appear to be my router or connection, (it was just that I noticed the problem the day after the engineer visited to upgrade my virgin media to 50mb) as I have accessed wikipedia with my laptop. I have also noticed that vuze cannot search, get a message saying "sorry there was a problem loading this page please check your internet connection"
I have reset restored advanced settings, and reset internet explorers settings, I have cleared all cookies history and tempory internet files (although there are five folders and three files that wont delete)
I have checked my hosts file and that appears ok only has the entry " local host"
I have run ccleaner, superantispyware and malaware
I have tried google chrome and firefox these dont load wikipedia either
any advice would be much appreciated

A:[SOLVED] certain web pages/sites wont open

If you have not already power cycled your router please do so now, simply pull the power cord to the router leaving it disconnected for at least 30 seconds then plug it back in and try again.

Google Chrome has stopped working, I can open it but it just sits there saying "loading" without timing out.

Have uninstalled, re-installed about 3-4 times, same with Google Desktop. It has worked fine since I downloaded it just a few weeks after it was released, until now.

What am I to do?

Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc..?I see you have an AII topic here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/309556/web-browsers-are-being-taken-over-cant-find-any-security-threats/ that never got a response from a Malware Response Team Member. This is directly due to the fact that you bumped your own topic (MRT members are looking for new topics with 0 replies...if you reply to your topic first, it will appear that you are already receiving help and thus delay receiving actual help). That is why it got lost in the shuffle and never received a reply. If you're still having malware problems, I'll send somebody to your topic to give assistance. There is a high possibility your browser problem is linked to your past (and/or present) malware problem.

Hi Everyone,

The other day I was browsing in Chrome and anytime I wanted to open a webpage the page would not open but at the bottom left of the screen I was asked to download a file instead.

This happened with any website I tried to open that I had googled.

So say I googled hotmail. Google showed the results as usual. I clicked on the hotmail link and instead of opening the site a download appeared in the bottom left corner suggesting that the site may not be say and the message may have also (but not 100% sure) related to cookies.

I fixed this by clearing my Chrome history and using CCleaner.

Does anyone know why this may have happened in the first place?

IE9 won't open a lot of pages.  It just opens a new tab that is a blank screen and a empty tab title.  The extension types all vary.  However, if I cut and paste the link in a new tab it will work.  I already tried to down grade the
version to 8, but it says its unsupported by windows 7 64 bit, funny I started with 8...

A:IE9 wont open pages, just give a new tab thats blank

You may be disturbed by some add-ons or malware, you?d better run Internet Explorer with ?no-add-ons? model first.

Open Start Menu, then click all programs, select Accessories, open the  system tools;
Right-click Internet Explorer(No Add-ons), run as Administrator.

If the problem disappears, it could be caused by Internet Explorer add-ons, you could try following steps to narrow down.
        1.    In Internet Explorer, click Tools and click Manage add-ons.

 2.    Disable the Google add-ons and keep the needed items on.

 3.    After finding the related item, double click the item and select Remove.
 4.    Restart Internet Explorer and check the issue again.

Also you can reset your IE settings. Here is an official article can be referred to.
How to reset Internet Explorer settings

If the issue persists, you could restore the Internet Explorer by turn off and turn on the Internet Explorer feature in the control panel ->Programs and Features.

Note: Before you restore internet explorer, please perform a system backup first and backup your favorites.

Besides of above suggestions, you?d better scan your computer and clear malware in time.

Hope that helps.

I reently bought a new labtop. After reinstalling my browsers and email programs I have a very annoying problem. In my old computer browsers and mail programs I had them set to open up a new tab whenever I clicked on a hyperlink. Now, when I click on a link in a webpage or an email I get a new tab--but the tab doesn't have any content. It's blank and doesn't work. Apparently the link didn't perform to properly bring up the new webpage.

I'm now using Windows 7 instead of Vista. Could the OS be the problem. I went to Microsoft's forums and found several topics where the same problem was cited. But I couldn't find any workaround.

I also found some of the same complaints on my Maxthon browser forum. No one seems to know why this is occurring so they don't have a clue on how to fix it. Because of the different wording people put on topics headings I suspect this is more widespread than is apparent at first.

If anyone can help, I'll appreciate it and spread the word on the other forums.

Thanks again. You guys are the best so if anyone can figure it out, it's you.

I have internet explorer 7 and since I installed BitDefender Internet Security 2008, I have had those random surge of internet pages poping up like mad, maybe 40 blank internet pages open in like 5 seconds. Even if I disconnect it from the internet, pages keep popping up non-stop (except in this case, the pages are all dead since the internet is not connected). The only way I can take care of this problem is use the "ctrl+alt+del" and use the "terminate program command".

Recently, clicking on google searches brings me to some redirirected sites selling stuff. Also, opening any browser (IE, Chrome, Firefox) often fails even when nothing is running. I try multiple times and get several instances running according to the windows task manager that do nothing. This can occur when there is low or high CPU usage. Regardless of the above 2 issues, after a short while of doing anything, I get 100% cpu utilization and have to reboot. I cannot start the superantispyware update service anymore so my definitions are out of date. I also cannot start the windows firewall.I have tried malwarebytes, superantisyware, spybot and others to remove these problems without success. It seemed to begin after opening an email. Please do not edit the logs, though I'm sure you meant well. To rid yourself of those O18 entries, you can uninstall Logitech's Desktop Messenger. It's not really necessary.

From their site:

If you choose to disable to uninstall the Logitech Desktop Messenger you will not receive any messages about updates to your products. However we will be posting on in the downloads sections of the Logitech site. So if you choose to monitor the Logitech website as an alternative, you will be able to access the latest updates.

DSS should have produced another log, extra.txt

It should be located at C:\Deckard\System Scanner\extra.txt

Please post it.

If it's not there, please do this:

Please run Deckard's System Scanner once again, this time using these instructions:

Click the Windows 'Start' button > Select 'Run' - then copy/paste this into the run box & click OK
"C:\Documents and Settings\Michael Beuhler\Desktop\ZonedOut\dss.exe" /config Click on "Check All"

Click Scan!

When finished, it shall produce two logs for you. Post those logs in your next reply.

I am new to this forum. I am having a major issues with my pc. First its all started when the malware paytime.exe attacked my pc. It turned off my firewall(SP2 Firewall), real-time virus scanner(Trend microoffice client, not using its firewall, provided by my service provider). With the help of hijackthis, spybot and ewido and also the interent , able to delete paytime.exe and its related files.
To this I entered in safe mode.

Now I am able to control my firewall. Thats the only success BUT when I click nvmixer.exe in my taskbar, it shows visual C++ runtime error and my virus scanner is saying that officescan client has not started. So in control panel I entered in administrative tools and tried manually to start real time scan process but I failed again. It shows cannot start this process in safe mode. The same thing is repeated for other processes like error reporting etc. I am booting in normal mode only but its showing cant run in safe mode.

For runtime error I tried to download visual runtime files from support.microsoft, I failed to do so. My browser doesnt open sites of microsoft. When I typed support.microsoft.com, Page cannot display error is coming. I even disabled my firewall still it doesnt works.

Could you tell me how to make my process start again? And is there any program that will tell me about missing dlls if any(presently there are no dialogs of missing dlls). And about my browser security settings?

I also present you the log of the hijackthis.

Sometimes when viruses are cleaned out the process damages system files etc too. I'd suggest starting with a sfc and then if no go run a 'repair' (this installs os over itself and retains data but you'll have to re-do updates).

I have tried everything, I delted cookies, temporary files, I told my browser to dump all the temp files when closing...
I can not open files like gmail, without first deleting all the cookies and temp files, EVERYTIME. I tried following a link to aol, and I get a blank screen with the "done" on the bottom.
I went into a web based program that stores data and then generates things like adoption reports and I can access the report OR print it, it just stops and goes no further.

I am crippled by this, I am on gmail DAILY, please tell me what else to do, somebody told me to delete host files or search for them ??????? IDK

Hi, Welcome to TSG!!

Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.

Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

I have the newest Internet Explorer and im using Vista. I play a game called Travian and I want to use a 'graffic pack' which loads from my PC.

I had to add the site to my 'trusted sites' for it to work, and it does now.

The only thing is that when I open the site it opens a new IE and loads it in there. As it is the only site in my trusted sites I cant load any other sites with that IE, so I need to go to a different one if that makes sence.

How can I make it so that my trusted sites open with my non-tusted sites (using tabs)?

A:Solved: How can I make trusted sites and normal sites open together?

Set your tab preferences in IE, otherwise, try Firefox and set those tab preferences.

I have my Firefox preferences for Tabs set to never open in a new window, and always open at least one tab:
New pages should be opened in: a new tab rather than a new window
Always show the tab bar
When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately
Warn me when closing multiple tabs
Warn me when opening multiple tabs might slow down Firefox

I've had this for a while... My browsers (when using google and IE) are almost 100% hijacked. There are 1/10 sites that actually direct me to the right place when I click it, but all the other times I'm redirected to an ad site, or the page doesn't work (i get a window popup saying "invalid syntax" twice before I can close the window.I've tried malwarebytes, avg, spybot s&d, and while finding and removing a lot of stuff, none have solved my problem. I even restored the whole computer to its out of box state and although it worked like a charm for about a week, it came up again soonafter. Very frustrating. Here's my hijackthis logfile. In Firefox, when you highlight a word, right-click and select 'Search" it opens a new tab with the search result.

However in Opera, the search result opens in the current tab.

Anyone know how to get this search to open in a new tab instead?

A:Opera r-click search open in new Tab?

Clone the tab, then search. There's nothing obvious in the opera:config settings menu to change the behaviour of highlighted word searches.

No Browser will open at all on my machine, i am writing this from a different computer, i am completely stumped i have done virus scans/spyware scans nothing and i have a hunch that isn't the problem anyway, everything else on the computer seemingly works fine games, media applications as well as the internet connection, in video games instant messengers etc. but when i click on fire fox, iexplorer or opera the hour glass comes up for a sec then disappears if i open task manager under processes i will see the progams under processes taking up 2-5mb each and doing nothing i can end task and repeat with no luck other then occasionally firefox will actually come up with a message saying it crashed and to submit a error report with no information on the crash. I have looked through a number of different posts and haven't been able to find the same issue or solutions also i know i can reformat but would really like to resolve this as it's on a well established machine, help is MUCH appreciated though im about to loose my mind

Can some can tell me if there is a way to have Opera 10 Open Links In The Same Window?

A:Opera 10 Open Link In The Same Window

Try experimenting with the settings under Tools/Preferences/Advanced. I imagine that placing a check mark by the 'Reuse current tab' option and removing the mark by 'Open new tab next to active' might do the trick. If not, have a look at the 'Additional tab options'.

Whatever you do, be sure to make notes of any changes in case it makes things worse and you need to restore the old ones!
