Budget Tablet?

Q: Budget Tablet?

does anyone have knowledge of/experience with the Insignia Tablets? I saw an 11.6" screen model, 32GB, Android 7.0 with a detachable keyboard for $130, which seems fairly reasonable. I only need a tablet for the most basic things: email, surfing the net, etc.

Are there any other tablets in a similar price range? Thank you.

Preferred Solution: Budget Tablet?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I am looking for the cheapest Windows 8 tablet available. I am getting one to replace my ipad and one for my uncle. The best I can find is a refurbished Dell XPS 10 with winRT for $200ish. I can also get a new Vivotab Smart with atom proc for $400. Ideally I want an atom proc, but the price difference may be a bit much. Are there cheaper atom tablets for less than $400? I don't want to spend that much since its mostly for leisure use.

I am also curious about web browsing performance. The atom will be faster than the ARM one, but by how much? And will the ARM one be faster than my old ipad? The other thing is there is supposedly flash support for both. How good is the performance?

Lastly. Is there any news of Windows 8 getting Words with Friends? It's available on Windows Phone 8, but not regular Windows 8. I am a WWF addict. I also play a lot of Scramble with friends. Other than web surfing, these are the only two must have apps. I have a bunch of friends both real and fictional that play them so substitutes wouldn't work.

A:Help me decide on budget Windows 8 tablet

The ARM will have much better battery life than the Atom, but the Atom will be somewhat faster and can run x86 applications (doesn't use RT).

For only $400 i'd go with the Atom, but it has half the battery life of the ARM version.

Does anyone know if there is a program available (free if possible) similar to Quicken (Deluxe) that I could use on my Android Tablet(HP 10 Tablet G2 -2301)? That would keep track of bank accounts and interest earned, and keep track of one stock IRA and interest earned and yearly RMD? And produce reports for that interest earned, etc.? If it is still under warranty, call Lenovo. IF you tried to reset to factory defaults, and it is still failing, then you have something else that is going bad. My suspicion would be memory as that is what happened to me although it was on a desktop. Something to check...good luck.

I have upgraded my X201 Tablet to Windows 10 32bit. As far as I can tell, everything is working, including the WACOM drivers and touchscreen.  Wireless has worked perfectly so far, not sure about Bluetooth as I don't use it. My only issue is that the buttons on the display do not work. The power button located on the display does work. I tried installing the Tablet Button Driver II and it will go through the install but the buttons do not work.  This is the download link:http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds027627 The document claims Windows 10 compatability and was Last Updated :08 Jun 2015. On inspection, all the files extracted are dated from 2012 and when trying to manually run the software Windows throws up an error that the software is not supported on this PC.   I removed and reinstalled and noted that the driver information page when running the installer does NOT have Windows 10 listed as a supported system. My assumption is that the driver that they have linked on the download page is NOT the most current driver and is infact the driver for Windows 7 from 2012. Does anyone know how to contact Lenovo to get the correct driver posted to the page, or know of an alternate source to try and find it?

Dear Lenovo-Community,my Thinkpad S1 Yoga change into tablet modus not only when I fold back the monitor but also when I have closed the lid normaly and than reopened it or sometimes by slightly moving the monitor or a minor percussion of the table. That is very annoying, because than I have no access to keyboard or touchpad while beeing in the laptop-shape. I can revive keyboard/touchpad by folding back the monitor and than back to the normal laptop shape, but this works only one time! After that I have to send the thinkpad in the energy saving mode and wake it up, to get keyboard/touchpad back.I think it is a problem with the sensor, but does there a software setting exist so keyboard/touchpad keep unlocked in tablet-modus? Or a way to switch off the tablet-modus completely? I can live without the tablet-modus and the thinkpad is probably too old to be worth a great repair. My system is fully updated. Any idea out there?

Hi all, I've noticed that my Yoga 910 is not auto rotatingwhen I set it to tent mode nor to tablet mode. Not only it doesn't auto rotate but it also keep the keyboard active... Not sure if this is a faulty sensor problem or just some bug. I've tried to follow the solutions presented in other topics but without success even tried a system restore but the problem is still here. I can't really identify which update has created this situtation but I know that when a couple of months ago it was still working. I also have the impression that more are affected, so could Lenovo release a patch to troubleshoot and solve such an important issue for a Yoga product (basically there is no Yoga functionality with this problem). A:$200 budget what can I do.

Basically nothing. TF2 relies too much on the CPU for a graphics+power supply upgrade, which you could afford, to make any difference. A new motherboard, CPU, RAM and OS are out of your budget. ~80 $ for a decent motherboard, 110$ for a really good one, 50-80 for RAM, 80-130-150-190 for a CPU, 90-150 for an OS.

Hi Everybody!

I need some help with my HP Compaq Presario SR5030NX Desktop PC. Lately I have noticed that it has been running low on memory and the performance has been slow. I have already upgraded my RAM to the max capacity (2GB /2 GB (max) ) and I have been running into problems when trying to do general things like surf the net, run WMP11, and some general multitasking. WMP will start skipping as I am running an application or browsing the internet or I will have slow loading times.

I am just wondering if there is anything I can do to improve its performance by not breaking the bank. I have thought about buying a non integrated graphics card to free up memory but I would also need a new PSU since I am working with stock. Could buying a new Mobo with more RAM expansion and a faster processor help or is there anything that you all could think of?

I use my PC for listening to music, surfing the internet, editing videos, and business applications.

Here are a few of my specs:

I have $700 to use for a PC setup. I originally was just going to customize a Dell from the Dell web site until I saw how severally overprice many components were and even way outdated! Therefore I want to build my own with parts through Newegg.

Here's what I have so far:
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=12032652
I already have a Sata hard drive and THIS power supply so those 2 items can be excluded.

Can anyone tell me for sure the processor, motherboard, memory and case that I picked would all be compatible with each other?

I play on adding a video card down the road also. I remember reading but not sure if it was this specific motherboard, but one of them said it didn't have integrated video so I'm curious as to how you'd even install a video card with no video to install the drivers?

A:$700 Budget for a PC

$700 is a bit more than a budget computer...

You have an OS to install? At least until Windows7 comes out?

I would go with the following (order of your list)
1 - Case: Pretty much anything that is Rosewill = crap. Want a good basic black case with good airflow, try this:
Antec 300 $55 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129042 (IS your PSU 24pin and 4pin wires very long? Many of todays cases such as the 300 has the PSU on the bottom)

2 - Keyboard, $7 keyboards won't last long. A good cheap keyboard is an HP or Logitech for $15+ But none of them are as good as what was made 10-15years ago.

3 - Spend $40~50 more on a 24" Samsung. Acer tends to be washed out. Over at Costco, they sell the 24" Samsung for $200. $250 with HD-Tuner and HDMI input. (Add $50 from newegg) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001280

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Produc...=0&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1

4 - With AMD DDR2 boards, its generally best to go with DDR2-800mhz: RAM 4GB DDR2 800 - $47 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1682014518 G.Skills are good, I use them.

5 - Mice : Check out Logitech... $5~10 mice tend to live for a month or so. Spend at least $15+ Good mice are $30~50.

6 - Motherboard The 790 doesn't have onboard graphics. Not sure what you're asking. If you buy a motherboard without on-board graphics and you don't add a video card, you DON'T get vide... Read more

- Thermaltake Purepower W0100RU 500W ATX 12V 2.0 Power Supply -- $59.99, $39.99 after rebate

Hi PYGMUS. I'm assuming your budget excludes the cost of a monitor and peripherals such as mouse, keyboard and speakers.

Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz - $299.99
ASUS Rampage III Formula LGA 1366 Intel X58 - $299.99
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 - $139.99
Seasonic SS-850HT 850W Power Supply - $119.99
2x MSI N460GTX CYCLONE 1GD5/OC GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB - $439.98
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB - $74.99
COOLER MASTER HAF 932 Black Steel ATX Full Tower - $139.99

Total - $1,514.92

With the remaining cash you could get yourself a good aftermarket CPU HSF and other components of your choice and requirement. You could look towards getting a Blu Ray Drive or SSD if you're interested.

Im currently looking for a 144 hz monitor. Preferably 27 inch but obviously doesnt fit my budget (below $300). Therefore I have to go with the 24 inches (not bad either). I'm currently deciding between 3 monitors all in stock on amazon.

It's hard to decide which one since i have no experience in these monitors.

A:Best budget 144 hz monitor

Graphic card specs? I'm not an expert with graphics, but I do know that sometimes a midrange graphics card can limit performance on a great monitor and vice versa for an average monitor hooked up to a great GFX card..... just food for thought.

From personal experience the best thing you can do when buying any monitor (or TV) is to look at it yourself. You can't always hook up your own device to it, but by checking it out in person you can see what really pops and what looks good to your own eyes. Try to get over to a best buy or microcenter or someplace where they have these monitors you're looking into and check them out yourself! Doesn't have to be the same exact size as the one you're looking for, if they come in multiple sizes, as long as it's the same family of monitors.

A Friend asked me the other day, what he should look for in a budget Laptop. The first thing he said he thought about was Dell. I quickly stated never to buy a Dell becuase Dell desktops are a pain in the rear to work, etc. Then, he said that he would only need it for internet and typing documents. He also said he wanted a laptop so he could easily move it to and from home and work. He wanted the cheapest laptop he could find but didn't want to be suckered into buying a heap of junk. I don't have much expeirence in the world of notebooks and wasn't sure what to tell him.

The kind of notebooks/laptops that I see for sale are all monsters. Any more it seems like laptops might as well be used as a desktop computer becuase they are so big and fast. The smaller notebooks are so much smaller and easy to carry that the price goes up on them becuase there is so much packed into a smaller area.

Also, I figured AMD would be better becuase they run much cooler and have a higher fsb speed, but then agian I have heard a lot of good things about intels mobile processors.

Anybody have any ideas on where to look or what I should recommend?

Hey guys.I posted on here awhile ago about doing a cheap upgrade to my pc.Well I ended up having car troubles and couldnt get around to it.Finally I have the money/time now to do a couple things and I am once again looking for help/confirmation from people who actually have an idea what they are doing lol..anyways I have a Pentium e5400 I dont dare to clock on a GA-G31M-ES2L motherboard with a crappy radeon hd 4350 gpu.I'm strictly looking for gpu/CPU upgrades for now(im also adding 1gb ram, currently on 3gb).My current thoughts are a R7 250 or 240 gpu and Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E8500 3.16GHz with the added 1gb ram. This is looking to run me about 200$ total.I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if this will be a decent budget set up or is there a better way for me to spend my 200$? I'm looking to get beamng drive to a decent frame rate(15-20 now) and possibly run some newer games (2010+) on low settings with stable frame rates.Any suggestions/criticisms on this future build are greatly appreciated as im new to this and f****** clueless,I basically pulled at straws when choosing these components. Thanks

The CPU is a vintage model - but probably optimal for your socket.. Can you even find a new one. Here is a refurbished one:

Am trying to decide between Lenovo G500 15.6" Laptop 4GB Memory 1TB Hard Drive 59399508 - Best Buy

and HP Pavilion 17.3" Laptop 4GB Memory 750GB Hard Drive 17-e019dx - Best Buy.

This will be for Windows 7 multi-tasking on internet, Office, streaming video, Skype, no gaming. The RAM will be doubled to 8gb.

The HP 17" screen for about the same weight is fast with Corei3 4000 Haswell processor which compares favorably with the Lenovo's Core i5 3230. But a possible fatal flaw is the flimsy power port with elbow plug which falls out. Best Buy says they will replace the PC with another one since it isn't a known flaw for the model and extend the return period so I can compare them side-by-side.

Which do you think is best, and why?

A:Which of these budget laptops is best?

Hi Greg .. I have two Lenovos one a Desktop which i have had for for over two years the other one a Laptop which is in my System Specs ...Neither of them have given me any bother in all that time ... So i would say for reliability Lenovo wins hands down .. Apart from that side of things i think the Lenovos are better made .. I have had an HP Laptop in the past that was a number of years ago .. And it did preform well but i think their standards have dropped .. I see a lot of Laptops on here with problems HP rate as one of the highest a long with Sony .. Maybe that is because not many people have Lenovos .. Before i joined the Forums i had all the Bloatware that came with the Laptop and even with that it was still fast booting time was around 20/30 Seconds .. Thanks to you i done a Clean Install and now it is even better .. I think your best bet is to try them both for awhile and see how they compare ...

Heya there, I have a budget of around about 150 and I'm looking for the best AGP card to fit that price, preferably NVIDIA as I've had issues with ATI in the past. I want to be able to run games like Half Life 2, or Elder Scrolls Oblivion on high quality.

The rest of my PC is pretty decent, 1GB ram & 3.4Ghz P4. Just need a better GCard.

So, any recommendations? And thanks for any help you can offer

Hi, I've got an old Dell Optiplex 780 SFF PC sitting around. I was wondering if I installed a GT 1030 2GB Low Profile, Will I be able able to run modern games at 1080p at Low to maybe even High depending on the game? Some games I'm looking at playing is Rocket League, Overwatch, PUBG, BF1 & H1Z1: KOTK, Would it maybe be worth it spending extra on buying a Q6600, instead of the E8400? How would the performance differ if I did so? & Is the GT 1030 and Q6600 compatible on that motherboard? I've tried looking everywhere on the internet but I seem to be struggling, Thank you to anyone who helps

A:PC Budget Build

No. Not going to happen. That Chipset is almost 9 years old. You are NOT going to be able to play those games with that E8400 Or even the Q6600. Those CPU's are way outdated, and they would have trouble even running the GT 1030 because it would be a massive bottleneck.

EDIT: You are essentially trying to run a 6 month old graphics card with the processing power of a 8 year old computer. Not a good combination...

I just built a new gaming rig, and plan on redesignating my older machine as a home server.

The rig I just built contains:

Athlon II X3 440 (Rana)
MSI 870A-G54 Military Class mainboard
OCZ Fatality 550w psu
Zalman CNPS9900 NT cpu cooler
4GB G.Skill DDR3 1600 RAM
1x 800GB WD Caviar Green
and is all wrapped up in a CoolerMaster Cosmos S

The MSI Mainboard has an "EZ Overclocking" Console that allows me to underclock it for better cooling, or Overclock it up to 7% (with the preset settings). I can also manually overclock it, though while I would like to believe I am advanced enough to do this without damaging my system, I simply am not.

I am also aware that the 440 Rana may have an unlockable 4th core, though I have been unsuccessful in all my attempts to unlock it. I haven't tried changing voltages to the cores to try stabilizing the processor as of yet.

My question is- Has anyone built a system with this MB/CPU combination, and if so, is there anyone that has been successful in unlocking the 4th core? How did you do it? Would you be willing to post voltages, clock speeds, etc?

This is the first machine I have attempted to overclock, so if anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it.

(I didn't include a graphics card in the specs because I haven't purchased one yet. I'm currently using an old Nvidia 9600gso as a stand-in)

A:New budget gaming rig

There's a reason the 4th core is locked, it was tested and concluded defective after production. Don't cause yourself more problems than solutions.

Hi guys,

Long time no post But I require a little bit of help with this build of mine. I am planning to get an AMD system with a budget of $550-600 CAD (after tax).

My main concern is to get a "future-proof" mobo (with DVI/HDMI output), PSU and case.

My mobo should have
- AM3
- onboard gpu
- USB 3.0
- SATA 3 (6gb/s)
- DIMMs Expandable to 16GB DDR3
- at least 1 PCIE x16 lane
- mATX form is acceptable

PSU requirements:
- 600W min
- 80 Plus Certified efficiency
- Dual 12V Rails w/ min 34A total
- 2 x 6 pin PCIE power connector (with at least one of them being 6+2 PCIE)
- at least 4 SATA power connectors
- Modular if possible, otherwise not an exact requirement

CASE
Anything that's cheap but has good airflow with at least 1 side vent for cooling GPUs. I've seen Antec 300 at $49.99 CAD, but I'm open to suggestions.

CPU can be any AM3 that will fit the budget
RAM - at least 4GB DDR3
HDD - 400-500GB SATAII (cheapest)
DVDRW - Any LG or Samsung 22x

I appreciate any help you can provide me.

You can save money on the power supply and the memory, but first, what are your planned uses of the new computer.
Look at memory at www.crucial.com or Directron.com
Consider a quality power supply, but you don't need more than 450 o4 500 W if it is truly a good one.
The Western Digital Black is a good choice,as is the LG
Be very certain your motherboard will fit the case you get... when the CPU and fan are included.

Alrightly. I'm looking to do a massive reconstuct to my computer, While trying not to spend too much on building an entire new system. Namely, I plan I reusing my old Case, unless I can find cheaper, good one that I like. Newegg has some cheap ones but their cases are either very cheap but Crappy (you get what you pay for) or just out of my price range.

Eitherway, This may sound like a silly question but how can you tell if your Case can fit ATX or Micro ATX or maybe both? Also, can anyone suggest a very cheap Motherboard that can support HighEnd Gaming and a Radeon card?

Added to that, I need a Very Cheaper Processor but is at least higher then 1G and can fit the previous stated MotherBoard?
Anyway, if you haven't guessed, I don't really know what I'm talking about. I'm just tring to find the Cheapest Motherbaord/Processor that I could put into my current case but can also easily support my games (this computer can't).

A:Looking to Upgrade on a Budget.

Cheap doesn't equal high end gaming. I honestly don't know your definitions of both.

In tech forums, most would tend think $600 graphics card for high end gaming. Such as nForce 6800 GT.

I can't recommend any mobo or CPU that are cheapest and for high end gaming.

Motherboard Chipset: Intel 915P (Grantsdale-P) + ICH6

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 520 @ 2800.0 MHz

Memory: 3x 1024 MB PC3200 DDR-SDRAM

Video Memory: 256 MB GDDR3 SDRAM

Monitor: HP F1703 Flatscreen

Drives: Seagate ST3160021A
Drive Size: 160 GB

Audio: Intel 82801FB ICH6- High Definition Audio
Creative SB0310 Audigy LS Sound Card

This is what I have in my computer currently according to HWINFO32. If there's anything else that you need to know, please let me know.

I would like to upgrade my computer if possible, or if I'm able to replace components as I go, in efforts to replace everything in the end, in a budgetly manner if that makes sense.

@red1776, would using any of the components that you listed in your budget build work for replacing here and there with what I have?

Thanks for any and all the help guys.

good for performance at 1680x1050 on high for most games

If you really need to start shaving the cost down because of peripherals, a few suggestions:
go with the 7750 or 7850 BE and OC it. (will need a different Motherboard i believe)
two, if you have a little faith the 4830 is different in two ways from the 4850 it has 4-shader clusters for 640 total, and 8 less texture units (32). the major vendors of ati cards (in order to get a competitive advantage) have turned on the 5th shader cluster, and the 8 texture units to make them effectively 4850's. and can be had for $89.00. i would also recommend the 4770, if a guy could find one.

Hi, I'm trying to upgrade a HP 500-164. It has a A8-6500 CPU, 8gb RAM and a MS-7778(Jasmine) MoBo in it. I cannot find much information on this MoBo, which ultimately leads to my problem/question. I want to upgrade the GPU in this PC and want to just confirm that the following devices are compatible;  a Corsair CX600 PSU and a Gigabyte AMD R7 360 GPU. If I could get confirmation that this will work, that would be great. Thanks in adavance.

@RCA84, welcome to the forum. Here is the Motherboard Specifications that should tell you what you want to know about it. The CX 600 will work fine.  You should make certain that it has the necessary power dongles required by the video card. This Gigabyte R7-360 will fit perfectly into the space proveded for it and should a great job for you. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

If you're wanting to use this for gaming, throughput will definitely be important to you. In that respect, you'd want to install the games on the SSD and the one you've picked out just won't cut it. Windows 10x64 alone will account for about 11GB of space on the SSD, and then there are all the other applications you may want to install. This is before you even get around to installing games, which oftentimes will consume several GBs of space per game.

However, that is not to say you can't use the SSD for your OS and general apps, and then use the 1TB drive for installing your games. They just won't load as fast, and I just wanted to point this out to try and help you make an informed choice.
