Preferred Solution: Intel Wireless AC-8265 card will work in Ideapad 7...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Yesterday I received my 720s i7-8550u MX150 laptop and on first impressions I am impressed with the laptop (Although I have only used for a couple hours). However the wifi performance of the QCA9377 wifi card is very poor and I would like to swap out for an Intel 8265. I have however read about whitelisting - The fact that Lenovo lock down the bios so the machine only boots with certain hardware installed.  Coming from using Dell laptops this seems madness to me! I can get a 'Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265, 2230, 2x2 AC + BT, Vpro' wifi card from Amazon UK for £17.95 delivered but I wanted to check: 1) That I will be ok to swap the cards over and have the warranty maintained.  I'll keep the old card so I can replace if I need to send back for warranty reasons.2) That if I swap the wifi card over it will work ok with my laptop My part number is 81BD0044UK and I have looked at the manual at https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad720s-14ikb_hmm_201705.pdf which lists the following card in the parts list: Wirelesslan_WIFI, Intel 8265 2x2AC+BT PCIE M.2 WLAN NV, WIFI 2X2 AC+BT4.1 SW10K97453 Can anyone please help confirm that I am ok to swap the card over please? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Matt

The wifi connection could be erratic at times, but bearable.I wonder if the Qualcomm Aetheros could be replaced with Intel AC 8265 Wireless card or something better ? I thought of having seen it somewhere but now I could not find the info on this subject.Could anybody point me to the right direction ?Thanks

I am running Windows 10 Pro on a brand new T470 laptop. Lenovo Update offers an "Intel 8265 Wireless LAN Driver - 10 [64]" update, but it simply will not install after repeated attempts. The update downloads and says that it needs to restart to complete the install, but after restarting and running Lenovo Update again, the same driver update shows up once again as "Critical update." Does anyone know how to actually get this critical update to install?

Hi, I am new to these forums so a big hello to everyone. I am looking for confirmation on compatibility with T440s (BIOS 2.44) and Intel AC 8265 Wireless card (FRU: 01AX704) Can anyone confirm in BIOS 2.44 (Latest) if the following card above has been added to the BIOS Whitelist? I would rather get some confirmed solid confirmation before I purchase. The Intel AC 7260 is not the greatest of cards and an upgrade would be nice. I don't see it feasible that Lenovo would have individual whitelists for individual ThinkPad series, I would say that it is likely they update all the whitelists as and when new cards come on to the market? Best Wishes Vince

When my Carbon 5th is connected to 5 GHz Wifi it randomly resets (drops) after several hours (connection is being lost, Windows reports "Cannot connect to the network"). Sometimes it is possible to connect again manually, sometimes only reboot makes it work again. Connection to 2.4 GHz Wifi always works totally fine. I've seen several similar topics on Intel forums with the same issue, looks like it touches several Intel WiFi adapters. No solution have been found except using only old 2.4 GHz protocols or external WiFi adaptors. I tried different drivers and many parameter sets on my router - nothing solves this issue. It is very sad to have only 20mbps with 2.4 GHz while new standards offer more than 100mbps. Did you face this issue? Any ideas to solve it out?

Hello everyone,i'll try to give the most details i can.I just bought a 2nd hand t470s, and started by reinstalling windows from a usb bootable win10 i had at home.Everything worked fine except for the wifi card : i dosnt show anywhere. i cant see it on the device manager, its not greyed out nor hidden. Everything up to date, from windows update, to single driver update from the device manager, the intel update tool or even all the lenovo support drivers.I finally asked the support for a clean win10 pro update using my serial number. reinstalled everything clean, but still no wifi card detected. I switch with a killer 1535 from my other laptop : the ac 8265 worked on my other laptop, but i couldnt get the killer 1535 to work on my 470s (i could see it in the devicer manager but kept getting greyed out..).I spent the last 4 days on it and i feel like i read all the google pages that couldve helpt me.

Lenovo X1 Yoga 2nd Gen's Intel AC 8265 should be able to work at 450 Mbps, but it only works at 300 Mbps.  Does it have only two antennas on the OLED model so it can't reach full speed, so to speak? I upgraded my XPS 15 9560 Killer WiFi with Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265.
WiFi works flawlessly.
Bluetooth devices installed correctly ("This device is working properly") and visible: Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R), Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator and Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator.
But Bluetooth can't find any devices.
I have tried Intel driver 19.50.0.5 from Dell downloads and official Intel driver 20.0.0_64.
In Windows 10 x64 Bluetooth settings it just gets stuck saying "Your PC is searching for and can be discovered by Bluetooth devices" and never actually finds anything.
Any ideas?

You must actually connect (pair) bluetooth devices like bt headphones or other peripherals to get it to work. What BT devices do you have? The enumerators are not devices. See --

We have just purchased the XPS 13 over the past weekend.  The laptop was working great, until the creators update occured.e

once the update occured the WLAN auto-config service appears to crash during the association phase when the laptop is attempting to connect to an SSID.  It starts to connect, then the autoconfig config crashes and the laptop stops probing for beacons.  I am able to get Wi-FI to work with one of my USB Wi-FI cards.
I have had to roll back to windows 10 in-order to get the wifi card to work.  I have tried the latest drivers from intel and the Dell site and I have been unable to get the wifi-card to function.

A:XPS 13 2-in 1 (9365) intel 8265 no longer working after creator update

The Creator's Build did not bother my system.  Other than always having to set my system to a Private network after such an upgrade/update, it works normally.
Can we assume all of your Drivers/Bios updates are done?  If you want to give some info regarding your configuration, we can compare systems.
Windows 10 seems to have a built in driver for that Wi-Fi adapter.  The Dell driver should work better, so you might try to reinstall it, just in case or vice versa..

I have just bought a Yoga 730-13IKB Laptop - Type 81CTIt comes with the Intel(r) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 wifi adapter. I do not manage to get it keeping connected to wifi. A:YOGA 730 with intel 8265 wifi adapter constatly disconnects!

Now be careful but you may want to try opening it up to see if the thing sits right in there. I looked into the 730 quite extensively online before my purchase and saw it mentioned somewhere that a lot of wifi problems may be due to shoddy installation. Mine has an Intel 9260 160MHz adapter and no drops so far.EDIT: BEFORE you do that check your battery settings. Right click on battery> power options>change plan settings>change advanced power settings>wireless adapter settings>power saving mode and fiddle with these settings. Could be Windows' power saving is disabling your wifi though I kind of doubt it. Mine is on maximum power saving and no drops yet.Could you tell if it shows the wifi signal dropping in the bottom right corner or can you tell it's dropping when you're downloading sth or gaming?

Hi All, I use a P50 (20HHCTO1WW, BIOS 1.17 dated 12/13/2017, FHD, i7-7700HQ, RAM 64GB, Boot disk: Samsung 850 EVO M.2 SATA 500GB, Work disk: Samsung 960 EVO M.2 NVMe 1TB, Data disk: Seagate Firecuda SMR HDD ST2000LX001 2TB. These virtual machines are set to access network and internet through a virtual switch setup on top of the P50 WLAN interface. I would like to share regarding crashes I got after performing system update on Lenovo Vantage yesterday. After performing two updates (Intel Online Connect and Intel 8265 WLAN driver) on 1/16 6:09AM early morning, a BSoD occurred on 9:03AM. Upon checking the memory dump using windebugger, the issue was invalid memory read access initiated by vmswitch (Hyper-V Virtual adapter). Installed vmswitch.sys on my P50 is version 10.0.16299.192, time stamp 1/8/2018 5:32AM. Quite new. Upon checking for possible causes, I read on other forum regarding suggestion to disable VM queue on each network interface on all VMs. I changed these right away.  However, on 5:06PM same day, a second BSoD occured. This time the memory dump writing somehow failed, hence I lost the latest dump and also the previous dump (as it is overwritten by the last BSoD process). The bugcheck details from both crash occurences as registered on Event Log are similar thou. As disabling VMQ didn't solve the BSoD problem, I removed the Intel 8265... Read more

Dear all,

I thought I have met this problem before before my two wireless adapters both stopped working.

PCI-E INTEL 5300
TP-LINK WN821N

My case is a little different from those I found on this forum.

1. When I upgraded my thinkpad x200 to win7 64bit, I don't have "Wireless Network Connection", but I fixed it by stopping one setting of Kaspersky and it came back, so when I first found my PCI-E wireless didn't work, I thought the same thing happened, although I didn't remember the details, I tried the Kaspersky, don't work.

2. I updated the drivers, uninstall-install, start-stop-start WLAN AutoConfig... I have done a lot that can be searched on line, never worked for me.

3. Tragedy happened, I adjusted several common options on BIOS, then after several tries I made to make 5300 work, USB wireless died Don't know how to recover it, and back to my laptop again.

Could anyone here help me out? Really appreciate it! I have spent two days on this stuff, if no one can do this, I guess the only way is to reinstall the OS, that's the least thing I want to do.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mic

PS: Unavailable wireless adapters have all zero Mac addresses, also can't be found in control panel.

A:PCI-E intel 5300 wireless doesn't work. Then the USB wireless adapter

I have an IBM T40 Thinkpad that has a built-in Intel Pro Wireless 2100 LAN 3B Mini PCI adapter. A while back, after trying to set up a router, and monkeying with settings, I found I could no longer connect. The OEM-installed IBM Access Connections was no help, and Windows tells me it cannot configure the adapter/connections. At first I thought the card was defective, but 2 new ones have the same results. I've been using a USB adapter, but would like to get the built-in working again. My friend thought I could remove IBM Access Connections and install different software to operate the adapter.

Two questions:
1.Does this sound feasible?
2.Can someone recommend some software (preferably freeware)?

Im thinking that they are either stored in a INI file or maybe in the Reg. Anyways, I have about 300 PC that have to have this value changed and so I just though that scripting it out might be the best option. Thanks

I have an HP Envy TS15 Notebook,  (HP Envy 15t-j000 Quad edition CTO notebook).  Has Intel i7-4700 and 12 GB mem.  Operating Win 10 pro 64bit.  Since new, the wireless has had frequent drops with the current wireless card (an Intel 2230 card installed with the computer when new) and the warranty is expired.   I want to upgrade the wireless card to get the 5G.  Installed is a Netgear AC1900 smart wifi router, model R7000.  These frequent wireless drops do not occur with 2 other HP and Lenovo laptops.  I want to be able to get the higher 5G speed that I am paying for. Can you advise1) is the HP Envy TS15 wireless card upgradeable?2) what form factor  must the replaceent card be to fit?3) which dual band wireless card would fit and work?  Prefer to stay with Intel.  Would the Intel dual band wireless AC 7260 card work?  How about the Intel AC8260?  Thank you for any information.Kind regards,Jay

How in God's name do I find the WPS PIN for my Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 5100 so that I may enroll it in my router's internal registrar?

Failing that, how do I initiate the WPS protocol for this wireless device so that I can attempt a PBC procedure?

I have a refurbished Lenovo Y40 and I am happy with everything except the wireless card. It is an intel ac-3160 card but right out of the box it had many problems. Internet signal drops off significantly when I am more than 5 feet away from the router.

I know this is normal but my computer's internet speeds die down significantly faster than other computers with the same wireless card. For example, at around 15-20 feet away, this computer will have 0.5-1 mb speeds while a different lenovo (same card) will have around 8-9 mb.

I want to try buying a new wireless card such as the intel-7260 or a new intel-3160. Does anyone know how to make sure my computer is compatible with the 7260? I have read an article about checking the "BIOS whitelist" to see if it's compatible (Page Not Found (404) - CNET

Anyone have suggestions or tips?

A:Upgrading intel wireless card

What router do you have? Upgrading the card or going with a USB adapter is not necessarily going to change something or improve signal if you are using a public hot spot at say a College or University dorm.

The antenna is usually on the upper left side of the lid. My son swaps between his Intel Wireless-ac dual-band 7260 and a Netgear A6200 USB adapter, depending on where he is at on his school campus.

I have an hp pavilion dv6 1355dx win 7 64bit intel core 2 duo. The wifi was working fine with my remembered connections and connected automatically within range. Then it started saying limited connection and would not let me browse the internet. After trouble shooting it said "There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection adapter" So I uninstalled reinstalled Intel(R) WiFi Link 1000 BGN it was listed under network adapter so I'm assuming that means it is the adapter but I was told it is the driver. Still confused on that. A friend suggested that I delete my remembered connections now it just says no connections available.

Under network adapter properties even tried changing the channel width for band 2.4 thats Value was set 20 MHz only to Auto, as I was instructed by my college IT guy. I've searched for the drivers installed the one on the hp support site. According to my model i have Atheros Wireless LAN Adapter, in the devices supported list nothing that I thought was the adapter or driver was listed. Downloaded the file they said contains the driver for that adapter...didn't seem to do anything other than install. Tried rebooting still nothing. Anyone have any ideas or is it just a lost cause?

Thanks

Allison

A:Intel(R) WiFi Link 1000 BGN wireless internet won't work

You could try backing up your data and re-loading your system from your backup software or from a restore point from before the start of your problem? That way the network adaptor will have a working driver installed.
