Dell Optiplex 780 Graphics card issue

Q: Dell Optiplex 780 Graphics card issue

Hello,
I recently purchased a Dell Optiplex 780 MT from Ebay. The computer has the following specs:
Processor: Q8400 2.66GHzMemory: 4GB(4x2GB) DDR3 RAM
ATI Radeon HD 3450.
My issue is between owning the computer for a few months, I have been using the on board VGA port and recently purchased the DMS-59 to VGA and DVI adapter. When I installed the graphics card I get a message stating that the configuration is unknown and that I need to unplug the monitor from the display port. The problem I have is that with the VGA plugged into the adapter to the 3450, I get no video output. Now I have tested it on a different system and the card worked. I also changed g the configuration and turned off the message for video cards in the bios and have updated/ downgraded the bios as well. Does the system not support this card? or do I have a bad Motherboard?
Thanks
Josh

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have Dell 755, and I bought a GeForce INNO 3D  low profile card but after insertion nothing happens. My Dell 21.5" monitor shows black.
The card has a 16 pin and USB. I'm assuming the 16 pin is for an external PSU connection? But what is the USB for?
My specs:

Can anyone please help me as to what I need to make this card work? I understand this is NOT the greatest PC but it's what I have for now so anything is better than the integrated graphics it already has.
Thank you!

The card might be incompatible. For integrated graphics upgrades, I've had great results with the budget Sapphire 6450.

Ok so I just recently got a Dell optiplex GX 755 PC that has-
*Intel core 2 quad processor 2.4 GHz
*8GB ram
*320GB hard drive (kinda small i know, i'm looking to upgrade that as well)
I'm posting this here to see if anyone knows mainly what graphics card i could get that would make my PC gaming friendly. It doesn't have to be the most amazing stellar quality card out there since iv had (some) people tell me that you cant upgrade these PCs much. But just some good quality advice on the subject and maybe a recommendation on what card brand to get as well as the specs for it. Also a recommendation for a video card would be greatly appreciated as well. Sorry for my ignorance on on the subject, i am new to the PC world. I ended up having to get this computer in a pinch because I am a small time graphics design artist and my laptop died, and I had orders coming in. I'm not looking for a quick fix to the problem so even if anyone has a solution that may take a bit or quite a few steps to get underway, the help is still greatly welcomed! I am hoping if its at all possible to make a good situation out of this and maybe build this PC to fit my needs. Thank you to anyone who can help :)

There are no stellar or even really good low profile fanless 25W cards.  ASUS EAH 5450 has been used in Desktop and SFF.  USFF Cant use anything because it does NOT have slots.

Hi All
I have an Optiplex 755 SFF with 275W PSU and PCI-E low-profile video slot.  The on-board graphics on this series are awful - can't playback DVD video without stutters.  I've spent a few hours trolling about the web trying to ascertain what video card will work in this 755.  The general consensus of the card "guaranteed to work" is the Radeon HD 2400 PRO.  So, I managed to track one done (after trying a 5570 & it not even letting the PC start up), got it shipped here, and installed it.  Only to find that it too won't let the PC boot.  So typical of Dell to make PCs that are unbelievably limited.  What's the point of having a PC capable of running Win 7 (will take 8GB DDR2 RAM, currently has 2GB, plus currently has a Dual-core E6550 2.3Ghz CPU) when it can't take an even modestly-spec'd card?  This is the last time I buy Dell.
Anyway, getting past the rant (ah, much better, thanks) - why the won't this junky 755 take the supposed "guaranteed" HD 2400 PRO?  When I try to boot it up, it does that stupid pre-boot ramp up / down of the fans, then goes off, then tries again, then goes off, then on the 3rd go all the fans just go hard out & stay like that for as long as I care to leave it.  If I take the HD 2400 PRO out & put back that silly DVI adapter card in the PCI-E slot, it's all good.
No modifications have been made to the 755 - it&#... Read more

The 755 came in four different chassis sizes. You chose the smallest one with the smallest power supply so you limited yourself. you need a low profile card here are some links
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814139165
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814139007

Newegg has several other low profile AGP cards but those are the only ones I could find that include the smaller bracket (some of the others may offer it as an accessory from the manufacture for an extra charge but I am not sure of that or which ones would) that you need for the card to fit your case. There is one extra step in installation. You must remove the fullsized bracket and install the low profile one (this is simple and involves removeing and replaceing the two screws holding the bracket to the card). Other than that it's just like installing any other AGP card.

I need to upgrade graphics card so I can use an animation program (Daz Studio). When I tried to use program, I got an error saying I need to have a card that is Open GL. I'm not a gamer so I don't think I really need a top-of-the-line card.

I usually get computer stuff from OpenEgg, but I have a gift card from Dell that I need to use (from a past return).

My plan is to get a new Graphics card. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX series was recommended by Daz Studio users. I'm looking at this card:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/evga-ge...D=1&siteID=je6NUbpObpQ-010p3SraLqW9yUXoDs6usg

I'm also assuming I need a psu that can support power needed by graphics card. I'm thinking this will work:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/evga-80...power-supply-black/8511029.p?id=1219693073473

Here are the specs on my computer:

Dell Optiplex 780
Intel Core 2 Quad 2.83GHz
64 bit operating system
PSU maximum watts 255 (model # PW115)
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3337U CPU @ 1.80GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 58 Stepping 9

RAM: 8079 Mb
Graphics Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000, -1984 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 953066 MB, Free - 424653 MB

I'm a newbie when it comes to adding hardware to a computer. Will the choices above work with my Optiplex 780?

I'm just trying to get some clarifiation before I purchase. Thanks for any help

Hi All
My girlfriend and I recently purchased a SFF dell 755 it has 8gb ram 2.8ghz and 1tb. We both know very little about computers. When we turned the pc on we were surprised we could not play a single game on it, so we decided we needed a graphics card. Please could someone recommend a graphics card that will fit in the SFF. I think it needs to be a low profile one and low watt's..ohh and single slot I read somewhere. Around the £50 mark would be great. Were not avid gamers we'd just like to be able to play a few games. Your help is much appreciated thanks.

I have an Optiplex 760 small form that I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 due to a hard drive issue, I am running Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit, I have 2 Gigs of Ram and a 3.00 Core2Duo processor. After the reinstall of Windows I am not able to set the proper resolution of my Dell 1909wf (widescreen monitor) the proper resolution of 1440x900, I am not able to select it. I have my monitor connected though VGA as that is the only connection on my computer. When I go in to Device Manager, I have a little warning triangle next to Intel (R) 4 Series Internal Chipset. When I click on properties of the Intel 4 chipset, the error is:

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.
I have downloaded the drivers for the graphics card and for the chipset directly from Dell by entering the service tag and have rebooted my computer several times with no success. I have even had Windows search for the latest update and It says I have the latest driver installed. I also have a warning triangle on Intel (R) Management Engine Interface. Keep in mind that my computers graphics card worked great and had the proper drivers on 7 before the hard drive was re-imaged. I have other 760s with the same specs and monitors that have no issues. I can post more screen shots if needed.

Thanks!

Welcome to Seven Forums.
Go into device manager and see if your monitor is listed.
If it is listed as pnp. I would suggest going to Dell to see if their is a.inf file (driver) for it and install it.

Installing the .inf file should get your monitor recognized and this will allow it to run it's native resolution.

As stated in the topic, I have a Dell Optiplex GX270. It came with onboard Intel Extreme Graphics 2 with 96 MB VRAM. I looked in the case and saw 2 different types of slots, so I'm thinking mabye one of those is for a graphics card?

A now old verison of cpu-z didn't have any information on my graphics card capabilties like whether it would support AGP 4X/8X, etc. Aida32 wouldn't tell me anything either. I'm getting an updated version of cpu-z now and will see if that tells me anything more.

Anyway, let me throw you some of my specs. Maybe that will help.

Dell Optiplex GX270
BIOS Version A07
Date 06/26/2006

CPU Speed Normal/Compatible
Bus Speed 533 MHZ
Processor OID F34
Clock Speed 2.80 GHz
L2 Cache Size 1024 KB

Mainboard (CPU-Z)
Dell Computer Corp.
Model OFG015
Chipset Intel i865P/PE/G/i848P Rev A2
Southbridge Intel 82801EB (ICH5)
LPCIO SMSC

Processor (CPU-Z)
Intel Pentium 4
Code NMe Prescott
Package Socket 478 mPGA
Technology 90 nm
Well that's alot of info, but I thought it might help.

I can post a full listing of specs from a log file I generated using CPU-Z if that helps.
It's a 2.8 GHZ, 1 GB ram computer processing power wise.

I looked up the specs for the GX270 on Dell's site but it didn't say whether or not I can instal a graphics card.

Oh, and I bought this compuer refurbished from www.intechra.com, so I dont have a computer manual for it.

A:I have a Dell Optiplex GX270. Can it support a graphics card?

It has an 8x AGP slot, but doesn't most propably have enough good a power supply to support any decent cards, like these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102814 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102730
Neither do Dells have good cooling so the 3850 would run pretty hot in it.

The Optiplex basically takes a standard ATX PSU, but you might need to cut some metal to expose the new PSU's power switch or something like that. Safest way would be to get a Dell specific PSU, like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703016 but if you're feeling lucky, you can save a bit and get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703015

The power supplies in the SFF are so small and the case is soo small that there are few to none upgrades.  USFF systems have no slots whatsoever.
The 19W ASUS EAH5450 would be the ONLY one I know works.

The Silent ASUS card fits all models Except the USFF.  Optiplex Tower is a better choice because you can use much better cards.
USFF isn't upgrade-able due to no slots.

Hi TechSpot Forums!

I own a Dell Optiplex GX280 Mini-Tower PC, and am seriously considering buying a graphics card for it.

My question to you is, which would best be compatible with my specs?

System Specs:

Dell Inc. OptiPlex GX280
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
3.00 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
2552 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory
500.10 GB HDD

Current Video Card:

Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
DAC Type: Internal
Approx. Total Memory: 128.00 MB
Current Display Mode: 1400 x 1050 (32 bit) (60GHz)

Does installing a graphics card mean you can achieve higher resolutions on your LCD monitor? That is partly the reason I will be purchasing one.

Thanks for any info or suggestions,

My Dell Optiplex 990 SFF has an Intel 2000 which I'm learning is no good.  I hate that my screened looks super stretched vertically and no matter how much I play with the resolution I can't fix it.  It's hurting my eyes.
In addition I wanted to set up dual monitors with extended display.  While it's detected, identified, and showing the desktop on both monitors it's in duplicate and I can't get  the extended display to work.
I'm no good at computers and have spent HOURS trying to understand all of this.  My guess is that I need to upgrade the graphics card?  I feel like I can do this from a youtube video.  I'm just not sure what I need.  I don't think I need anything fancy. Just something basic that will let me do the dual monitors with extended display and address the stretchy screen problem.  Recommendations?

Maximum power consumption for SFF is 25 Watts the best card the machine could operate with is:
VisionTek Radeon HD 6350 SFF Low Profile Graphics Card - 1 GB DDR3
From what I understand that card is not very powerful but might be enough to operate multiple monitors in low resolution

What type of Optiplex chassis and what brand was the card? For example, as per the page here this R5 230 will fit in the 980 Desktop and probably the minitower version of your Optiplex. And, being that this card works and lists your system as compatible I would think you should be good with the power supply, but was does the card state are the power requirements?Best regards,Brad

Hi there,
I have recently got a Nvidia NVS Quadro 420 graphics card and have tried to connect up to 4 screens, Unfortunately this hasn?t worked and I was hoping you can help.
The equipment I have is;
Dell Optiplex 380 desktop computer, running windows 10 32-bit.
Cables being used are;
VHDCI to DVI-D splitter to 4 screens,
DVI-D to VGA straight connection to connect 4 VGA displays
So this setup goes as follows;
VHDCI >  VHDCI to DVI-D Splitter > DVI-D to VGA straight connection > VGA cable to each screen
With the above setup, Looking at the graphics card theres power going to it as fan is spinning but the screens remain unresponsive.
I have also looked in the BIOS to check if there anything there stopping it from working, everything looks ok to me.
Is there anything else I can try?
Thanks

Hello,

This is my first post ever, so thank you in advance for helping us people that don't have a clue. I recently bought 2 Nancy Drew games and tried to install them. I was prompted with an error message, that I needed Windows XP with Service Pack 2. So I upgraded my system to the correct version of XP. The games installed, but when I try to play them I got this error message:

Error Code ND-12121

The video card in this computer does not meet the minimum requirements to run the game. Outdated video cards may need to be replaced with new hardware. Nancy Drew: Legend of the Crystal Skull requires a 32MB video card that is DirectX 9.0 and 32-bit color compatible. To resolve this issue, please contact your computer or video card manufacturer to download new drivers or update the video card. For additional assistance, please contact technical support at [email protected]

My drivers are all updated and my current card says it's 32 mb. Maybe it just isn't Directx 9.0 compatible? I have tried to find a card for my Optiplex 150, but am having trouble. I bought one card off Ebay, that is too small and will not fit. Is there a card out there for my old computer?

Here is the DxDiag info that I ran, for info on my current graphics card:

Hi Yall,
So I have successfully (I think) installed my new Radeon R7 250 "low profile" graphics card on my Dell Optiplex 9020.  I plugged it in the motherboard, started up the computer then went to Device Manager to update the drivers--which I did.  Side note: Ever since plugging the graphics card into the motherboard, some tasks like starting programs or starting windows take 2-10X as long as they used to.  Anyhow, it then asked for a restart, which I did.  The computer still took extra long to start any program, and when I plugged the monitor into the graphics card all I got was a black screen.
Take two:  I then read that I should have uninstalled my current graphics driver (Intel integrated HD graphics) before I installed my new graphics card, but failing this, I could uninstall my old graphics card and change the default graphics card in the bios.  I uninstalled the old card and went to the bios, but could not change the default...can't remember exactly what it called it, graphics controller or something.  I could see that intel HD graphics was still the default (this is after uninstalling intel HD graphics and then restarting) but could find no way to change this.  Supposedly dell will make the switcheroo on its own...but it doesn't seem to have.
Take three:  Next I physically removed the graphics card, restarted the computer, then physically inserted the graphics card again, then started the comp... Read more

I use a Dell OptiPlex 755 Small Form Factor computer in my bedroom, and it works great for most things. Though I want to give it a nudge in graphics. But I also don't want to buy a graphics card that won't fit inside the computer. I know I'll need a low profile graphics card. So my questions is, what is the maximum dimensions for a PCIe graphics card in a Dell OptiPlex 755 Small Form Factor.

A:Maximum Dimensions for Installing a PCIe Graphics Card in a Dell OptiPlex 755 Small Form Factor

I don't know what the maximum dimensions are, but they are tight and you are limited by the power supply. Bearing that in mind, the Sapphire 6450 is a good choice.

I have had the system for a few years now and it has sat a while with a virus. Yesterday I redid the OS (windows xp) and installed 4 gb of memory up from the 2 it came with. All went fine. I also wanted to upgrade the graphics card and bought this one off dell...ATI Radeon HD 5450 1 GB Low Profile PCIe Graphics Card with Displayport.

This is where I ran into problems and I am not very computer savvy...I can do the basics, but when it comes to this stuff I'm very new.

The book said to uninstall the old GC driver so I did and to disable any onboard video (not sure where to find this, it didn't come up in the device manager). Then swap cards and install the new drivers.

I did the unload of the old GC drivers (it was a GeForce card 128, 7300, Low Encryption, MRMGA10), took out the old card, put the new one in (in the PCIe slot) and went to turn it on and nothing. Sometimes it would give me random error codes on startup, other times it would show a colorful snow screen that would scroll down the screen. I could hear the computer running like it was loading windows like normal, but there was just no picture.

No clue what to do next. I've read that I should reset the BIOS, no idea how to do that. I tried hitting F2 on the load screen, but not sure what to look for. I did find the section for Video and Primary Video and there it just let me select PCI or PEG. It was on PEG, but I switched to PCI and that didn't work at all.

Any ideas? If you need ... Read more

To get into most bios you need to only hit "del" key on boot up. You can also try starting up in save mode(f8) to see if it is in fact a driver issue.

I have bought two different types of graphics cards for my computer that were recomended to me from Dell and neither are working. I am averaging four hours at a time with Dell on the phone and they can't get them to work. The first card I bought was a Geforce 8400 and they said it was a faulty card and sent me a new one. That new card after 4 hours on the phone they said was non-compatible with my computer or my Vista was corrupt. I was getting a blue screen with all kinds of data file errors. Then they recommended an ATI Radeon 2400. I received that and after three and a half hours I was told it was faulty and they are sending me a new one today. My problem is why can't anybody figure this out and get me a card that will work or get my Vista to work. How can I tell if Vista is corrupt?

So I am trying to play a game that functions on one of my graphics options, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M, but doesn't work with my HD Graphics 530. I have seen a ton of people who have full on crashes that happen when they turn off their onboard video card but I don't know if this applies to my integrated graphics. I tried having the program use only the GTX but it still crashes upon start up everytime I try it. Does anyone have any idea what this issue is? Is this the kind of thing that will result in me having to apply my warranty or can i fix this myself?

A:Dell 15.6-Inch Gaming Laptop issue with graphics card

If you look at the recommended hardware for this game, your system doesn't come near meeting the requirements - this game looks to be very demanding, and best run on a system with true dedicated video - i.e., a desktop system or a gaming notebook such as an Alienware.  That doesn't mean it won't run on your system - but you will likely have to seriously throttle back the settings to get it to run.

The culprit seems to be the hardware acceleration enabled in the Intel HD driver. But, I have yet to find a way to disable it universally across the Windows 10 operating system.
For Office software =* Start any Office program* On the File tab, click Options* In the Options dialog box, click Advanced* In the list of available options, add a check to, "Disable hardware graphics acceleration"* Click OK
For all other software, you will need to check into their specific settings.

A:Dell Optiplex 745 - Windows XP Pro 32-bit Dell System direct issue.

The older versions of Dell System Detect are security risks - if you're running an antivirus program, it may be flagging and intercepting the program.  At any rate, you should NOT be using Windows XP online at this point, as it has seen no security updates in almost two years - you really need to upgrade to a supported version of Windows (at this point, that's a minimum of Windows 7).

I was just given an old Dell OptiPlex GX110 for my kids to use as I don't want them anywhere near my laptop (what am I stupid?) lol Anyway it came with a Dell P780 Monitor. Now even though I don't want my kids anywhere near the good computers, I do love then enough to want them enough to have at least 800X600 256 Colors minimum using the on board video adapter. Anyone know what drivers I need?

Thanks

A:Old Dell OptiPlex GX110 Graphics

One thing Dell has is an excellent online database for their drivers, and what was supposed to have come with the machine in the first place. Here's what you need to do...

Go to this page - http://support.dell.com/support/top...&l=en&lnki=0&s=gen&SystemID=PLX_PNT_P03_GX110
- where you will find all the drivers that were available for the GX110, OR,

Go to THIS page - http://support.dell.com/ - and choose PRODUCT SUPPORT. A window will open and give you 3 choices - Enter Model (where I got the info above from), Enter a Tag and Log In. You can't log in, since you do not have an account (yet), but you should be able to Enter a Tag...

On the back of the OptiPlex should be a small white Dell tag with a series of numbers. If you type these into the Enter a Tag and proceed, what they will give you is what came with THAT machine originally, and what they can provide you now with.

As for what you have...

Base Model -

Manufacturer : Dell

Standard Memory : 64MB - Removable

Hi Dell,
I have an Optiplex 780 which works fine except that any add-on graphics card I add doesn't work.
I've played with the BIOS settings, tried different older cards from Optiplex 760s and 745s (Geforce 210's, Geforce 9300, etc) but I cannot get any add-on graphics cards to work.  According to the original configuration it came with a graphics card installed when we got it but I cannot find that original one.
The built in DVI and VGA do work but they don't support high enough resolutions for the applications I'm trying to run and that's why I want to use an add-on graphics card (an old Geforce 210 would work fine.)
I have read online that some people say you need a more powerful power supply than 235 watts to run any sort of add on video card but that doesn't make sense since it came with a video card originally.  I'm not trying to do extreme gaming and using something like an old graphics card would be perfectly fine.
I'm an IT person who's built computers and supported them for 20+ years so I hope to get an honest answer.
1.  So how do I get an add-on graphics card to work with this computer?
2.  Do I need a more powerful power supply than 235 watts to run a add on video card?
3.  Are there any known resolutions with the Optiplex 780 to this problem?
4.  What knowledge do you have about this problem and its cause?
Thanks in advance.

Yes and no.  The black PCIe according to the manual is 'wired' as a 4x and not a 16x so if the machine will allow you to put in a graphics card and run it, it will only be about 25 percent useful.

My Optiplex 7010 DT specs:

- Core i3-2120 65W CPU
- 8GB DDR3 (2x 4GB)
- 320GB HDD
- Standard Dell 250W PSU
- Standard integrated graphics
- Windows 7 Pro COA (at the moment)

Firstly the 7010 that I have is the (DT) desktop version, not the largest of the four in the range, but the next one down.  It can only take low-profile video cards, and I have read that it needs to run the power from the PCI-E x16 slot without additional connectors from the PSU.  I have a few questions.

1)  With the PSU at 250W, can I run a GeForce GTX 750 Ti whilst I have a 65W Core i3-2120 in the system.

2)  Could I run a faster low profile card than this with extra splitter type connections?  If so, which cards and how would I do this?  I would also need to consider the wattage issue with the card.

3)  If it would to possible to run a faster GPU than a GTX 750 Ti by using extra connectors, would you advise an upgrade to a lower wattage Intel Core i3, i5 , i7 "T" or "S" model CPU which run at 35W and 45W instead of the 65W CPU I already have?

4)  Also, one last question about RAM (nothing to do with video cards really), but the system currently has 8GB DDR3 (2x 4GB).  I am considering adding another 2x 4GB to make it up to 16GB.  However, I have read that some of Dell's documentation originally stated that only 16GB would run in this system, but some people have said that it will run 4x 8GB (32GB) if you have Windows Pro or... I want to add a graphics card to my Optiplex 3020. The "small form factor" means I need a half-height card. I was told by tech support that only two cards work: Radeon HD 8490 and HD 8570. The 8490 gets mediocre reviews, and today I was told the 8570 is no longer available (haven't been able to find it online anywhere). I reached sales support and was given other Radeon models that would work, but it turned out all of those are full-height adapters. Can anyone provide the models that will work in my computer? Thanks for any help.

A:Graphics Card for Optiplex 3020 SFF

all the HD 7000 and HD 8000 cards from AMD are discontinued and have been replaced by the R7 series card ... you need to find a low profile r7 240 that comes with low profile brackets ... he is the new equivalent of the 8570 ... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150677&ignorebbr=1

it's also important that the graphics card fan does not stick out past the width of the silver part of the card as you have almost zero room between the expansion slot the card goes in and the computer's power supply.

I've got an OptiPlex 9020 SFF and am wondering what is the best possible graphics card that can be installed given the following constraints:

Single slot - due to the PSU being a short distance away from the PCI Express x16 slot
Length < 17 cm (6.5") - it appears the SFF can only take cards of length upto about 16/17 cm
Only low profile/half height - due to SFF
Powered by PCI Express only - due to PSU not having additional power outlets, and PSU is a 255W 90% unit

I'm considering one of these options:

PowerColor AXR7 250 1GBD5-HLE http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JQUBLY4/
VisionTek AMD Radeon 7750 SFF 1GB  http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008RLHFQ6/

Will either of these cards be compatible with my 9020 SFF. Are there other better options I can consider?

A:Graphics card for OptiPlex 9020 SFF

Low Profile cards by definition are 25w max.
Radeon 5450 = 19W
R7 250 =  68W
Thats why Fanless cards are used because they cannot afford the power for the fan. All sizes of ×4 and ×8 PCI Express cards are allowed a maximum power consumption of 25 W. All half-height cards are initially 10 W; X16 cards may configure themselves as 'high-power' to reach 25 W, while half-height ×1 cards are fixed at 10?W.

Even if you get a Tower You CANNOT USE Double wide cards because they don't Physically fit. Tower X16 Slots are marked 75W and have a 305W power supply not 255W.

Whats the best i can put in this machine?

Specs are: 2.6ghz C2Duo, 2gb DDR and 160gb hard drive running w7 ultimate.

I may pop in a wireless pci card in for good measure.

I'm not a hardcore gamer but i do play the odd source game, mmo and quake 3.

I've heard suggestions about the GT 430.

Thanks in advance!
