Settings for printing stuck in monochrome - Please HELP!

Q: Settings for printing stuck in monochrome - Please HELP!

When I try to print a photo, I check the settings to make sure it is in color, but when I select color, it reverts to monochrome when I go to print. This happened before and I cannot remember what I did to fix it. I think it has something to do with photo
viewer or paint that is messing it up.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Dear all,

I am not sure whether this is the right forum for my question. Excuse me if not.

Anyway, my question is - is it possible to change the whole Windows XP interface from color to monochrome on a "regular" laptop computer? If yes, then how? In the old days, it was possible to do it under the display settings if I remember correctly; but now in my present computer, there are only two choices: 32 bit vs 16 bit.

Why would anyone want to do such a thing? Just because. There is no particular reason.

I`ve had a 2x 27" monitor setup ever since I got my laptop about a year ago. One monitor is connected via Displayport, the other one via VGA. I keep the lid of my W520 closed so I only use the two external monitors. Today I had my laptop unhooked from my workstation and now when I try to hook it back up again the screen that is connected via VGA shows up black and white.  Here is what I did while my my laptop was unhooked from the monitors:1) Took it to work as usual (it didnt drop or anything like that so I dont think it would`ve got physically damaged)2) Installed a new battery (just arrived today, Lenovo original) Here is what I tried to get the issue resolved:1) Update both integrated and Quadro 1000M drivers2) Switch monitors (the one that is connected via VGA is B&W always)3) Switched to a brand new VGA cable4) Restarted my PC multiple times5) Fiddled around with the settings under "Screen resolution"6) Checked VGA port - cosmetically it looks like it always has (no damage or anything like that)7) Switched back to old battery and tried everything again Please help me out! I would hate to have to take my computer to a hardware specialist because I am just out of warranty and I cant really afford professional servicing. Since I`m pretty sure nothing got physically damaged, what other software fixes could I try?  Thanks in advance!

I am looking for a method to run my system in black and white; not all the time, but only during certain circumstances (i.e. when focusing on writing or dedicated reading). Is there any way of doing this on a computer running Windows XP that does not require any programming knowledge or implementation of difficult solutions? Any solution that requires significant extra memory usage or WinXP visual themes probably isn't going to cut it. I'm looking for a way to do this that converts my entire user interface to monochrome temporarily. Is this possible or is it just an anachronistic pipe dream?

I am using a Dell Latitude D400 laptop running WinXP Pro SP2, with Integrated Intel Graphics.

A:Looking for obvious or creative way to run OS in monochrome (black/white)

Hello shoeshinesally and welcome to TSF !

Depending on your video drivers you may be able to play with some color saturation settings in the advanced display properties, but I don't think you'll have much luck with an integrated intel video.

You may find something that suits you in the high contrast modes in the accessibility options :
Click settings to access different color schemes.

Or some shell replacement utility could have a black & white color scheme. Be careful when installing one of these, make sure you've got the right one because they can be a pain to remove.

Maybe you'll find other clues in this thread :

Here's my setup: I have an XP Pro that I'm using as a print server through a main Linux-based server. I have been successful at printing from other computers on the network for some time... until recently. Since some kids got to this print server, I needed to lock it up a bit, but while doing that I think I inadvertently changed a setting that has locked up the other computers from the printer. File sharing is still working fine, printer is still shared, but there's no printing from other computers. The print server can open up files and print fine, though (but that's not the solution I'm looking for ).

Any ideas what that magic setting might be? What I need to check? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One of my clients is legally blind, so he needs an extremely high DPI in order to use his machine. However, When DPI under screen resolution is raised to 255%, the right two inches or so on every page is cut off only in Windows Live Mail.

Steps I've taken:
Printing from different programs - normal.
Printing from IE (which defines WL Mail margins and other settings) - normal.
Different machine with same printer - prints normally.
Different machine, same printer, change DPI to 255% - Windows Live cuts off page.
Different machine, different printer - prints normally.
Different machine, different printer, change DPI to 255% - Windows Live cuts off page.
The main problems I have are: one, I don't want to have him change programs since he's legally blind, and two, we can't decrease his DPI for the same reason.
Is there some underlying cause to this, and something that can be rectified without causing a major change for my client?

A:WL Mail printing cut off with high DPI settings

There usually is a setting of Shrink to fit on the Page Setup, I use it to get the full content but for those with vision issues it may not work. Another solution may lie in setting to page to Landscape but it will use more paper for the same thing.

Anyone ever seen anything like this? There are 3 jobs stuck in the printing queue on a users Win 7- 64bit computer. The printer is a networked HP Color LaserJet CP4525. The jobs only show up on this computer, not on the printer itself or anyone else
when they pull up the queue. They do show up for all users of this computer though and they show "deleting - spooling". Get this though, He can still print to this and other printers! The new job pops up, and goes right on through. Its really just
a cosmetic issue I guess.
There are no jobs in the printer folder. I have tried stopping the spooler, removing them every way I can find on google, other then starting to delete drivers and software etc.. I don't know that we want to go that far as its really not affecting his work. We
have removed the printer and reinstalled also.
I'm thinking there has to be some file(s) somewhere that windows is pulling this from to even make these show up in queue, but I cant find it.

I am having the worst problem, and nothing I have been able to do has solved it. I recently did a clean install of Windows 10 x64 on my work computer. My printer is directly connected via USB. I installed the latest drivers from HP (located here). At first, it failed, and I found I had to disable Smart Install for it to complete. So I uninstalled completely, and reinstalled. It prints the first one or two times, but then my problem arises. Whenever I try to print, whichever program I am printing from crashes, and in the "see what's printing" window, it is stuck on Spooling. I've tried everything, such as restarting the spooler, uninstalling and reinstalling again (and checking Print Management to make sure the drivers were completely gone), and even updating to the latest firmware 20160224. HP Print and Scan Doctor doesn't help at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times since, but nothing works. The last time I uninstalled, I rebooted, and I think Windows 10 automatically found the printer, but it still gives me the same problem. I'd like to add that I can print to other printers in the office fine.

Here's the oddest thing: Before I did a clean install of Windows 10, I was on an upgrade. The printer worked fine then, and I believe I used the same drivers as the latest ones here at HP's site. Can anyone help me? This is extremely frustrating, as I cannot print.

I have scanned a 4 x 6 professionally taken photograph into my PC at 300 dpi. It is a photo of our daughter at her college graduation standing between the US flag and our state flag (Tennessee) with a deep blue background visible from about her neck up between the two flags. She is wearing a black cap and gown with blue trim and collar and her hair is brunette with lots of blond highlights. She has a tan, but not very deep. The image prints very clearly with good tones, vibrant colors, etc. However, the skin tone is way off. Other photos I've scanned have printed perfectly except for this one. I have tried various profiles, settings, etc., but to no avail. I have tried making adjustments within Photoshop Elements 5.0 with respect to the printer, also to no avail. Reviews of this printer indicate that bronze skin tones is a common problem and in this instance I get either very bronze images, slightly yellow images or washed out images.

I am scanning using a Canon CanoScan LIDE 25 scanner and its software.

I am printing on Office Depot Premium Series Professional Photo Paper, just as I have for numerous other photos that have been scanned in, as well as images imported from two different Kodak digital cameras and had no problems with any of those either.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Sigh...very frustrating..

I have a dual language set-up going on my laptop of English as the primary and Korean as an option. For some reason, my computer shut down on its own for whatever reason, then upon start-up and log-in, the language settings were automatically changed to Korean. Unfortunately, I'm not fluent in it, so I don't know how to go about changing it back to English.
On a side-note, after this happened, there was an indication of an update on my Shut Down button, which I clicked and updated. During the update installation process, on the bottom of the screen was the usual Windows 7 logo, but had a Red-Orange "K" after it. Dunno what that was (gonna take a wild guess and say "Korean"?), but it went away..

Anyway, main problem is the language setting, which, for the record, happens often with Windows, in my experience. Anyone able to assist?

I am running Windows 2000 Pro and it was working just fine yesterday. This morning I go to turn it on and it's stuck on the loading your personal settings screen. It acts like it's about to load and than it restarts and does the same thing over and over. I did read somewhere that it probably has to do with a corrupted file in my settings...but since I'm the only one who uses the computer I don't have it set up to have more than one account setting. I can't even go into safe mode..the same thing happens. I did try to go to last known good configuration and that didn't do anything. It there a way I can log on without loading my personal settings? Hello all, one of my XP computers was infected with the FBI Moneypack virus. I booted into safe mode and ran a few scans with Malwarebytes and Bitdefender 2012 and both found nothing. I deleted the main profile and created a new user account. When I try to boot normally it takes a good 5-6 minutes at the "Widnows is loading" screen. Then I finally see the user account and when I click on the account and enter the password it just stays stuck at loading your personal settings. I can boot into safe mode with networking and load up the account just fine, however every time I do I noticed in Documents and Settings it creates a new profile folder which looks something like Username.Computername.000, and keeps adding a number every time I login. Not sure where I can go from here. Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to Seven Forums Nurein615. I think you can adjust it in BIOS with the down right keys (I hope they work!). Here is a (poorly made ) video that will illustrate how. Basically, F2 at boot, then video settings, then brightness. Don't go too bright as you have no left key to turn it back down! Good luck!

Warranty rules are different in different countries.  In U.S. buying used is no problem, but I don't know about Serbia.  You need to check with local support.  Boot into the BIOS and load defaults (F9) and save.  See if that helps.  Pull out the hardware you added: memory, SSD, etc.  See what happens with the original configuration.  What is the boot order?  Remove network boot.

As the title describes. I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. My SSD only has 15GB free space or so. SP1 has failed for me twice: First time it gave me an error code, most likely due to lack of free space (say, you need at least 15GB). On second time, it's frozen with a black screen saying "reconfiguring Windows settings" in Finnish.

I tried booting to safe mode with network, it worked just fine. I cannot open Windows Update from there though, and My Computer tells me that I have 14,7GB free space on my C:/, which is my SSD drive.

Just to be sure, I also left it reconfiguring settings overnight with no results.

Now I can't use my computer in any other than safe mode, which sucks obviously. Any fix for this to cancel the update?

Cheers and thanks in advance!

EDIT: Oh, and it's a full retail version I've bought.

A:Win7 SP1 is stuck at reconfiguring Windows settings after reboot

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

According to Microsoft, your version of Windows requires drive space of at least 20GB for installation puposes.

Windows 7 system requirements - Microsoft Windows

The reason you can run in Safe Mode is because only the minimum files and drivers to get Windows up and running. What is the total size of your SSD? If it's less than 40GB I'd suggest getting a bigger drive. (Do you have anything on the SSD other than Windows 7?)

I am having a major problem logging into windows. When I get to the log on screen, and click my user name (the only one available) it gets stuck on "loading personal settings".

My first reaction was to boot from CD, at which point I could not get my USB keyboard to work during the boot which made it impossible to "hit any key to boot from CD", so I fixed that by plugging the keyboard into the default keyboard port with an adaptor.

When I managed to boot from CD, I tried to do a repair install and got the message "Setup cannot find Hard disks bla bla cannot continue, windows will restart".

I can't provide instructions on how to replace the keyboard; you'll have to rely on someone else for that.

I did have a question: Are you able to access the BIOS by pressing F2 when the system first turns on? You may have to tap F2 more than once for the system to register it and give you the BIOS options. If you can access the BIOS, make sure your boot order is setup properly with the CD/DVD drive first and your hard drive (HDD) second.

I have a new Dell Latitude E5540 with Intel HD graphics card and an Nvidia Geforce GT 720M graphics card. The Intel card seems to be handling the main graphics with the nvidia card looking after the physics.

I need to connect to a Dell 2007FP monitor to the laptop but it seems I have set an incorrect resolution in the Intel HD grtaphics card settings for this monitor.

It only allows me to change the settings for the monitor when it is pluigged in, but when it is plugged in it just flickers on and off so I cant get to the settings!!

Are the settings stored in the background somewhere where I could change them?

You help is very much appreciated.

The Intel GPU will run under normal circumstances (everyday use such as browsing, Word/Excel files etc, watching videos) whereas the nVidia GPU will kick in and take over when needed, for example when gaming.

Hi everyoneMy laptop is a HP Pavilion 15-p077sa.When I start it up it starts black then after a while it will go into preparing automatic repair and will have a spinny circle. After a minute after that it goes back to the black screen. Before this all the laptop would come up with a CMOS reset 502 error.Ive bought a recovery disc to try and get me out of the issue but I can't start the bios.No matter what button I press, escape, f1, f2, f10 ,f8,f12, I can't get the boot menu to start up so I am stuck! My CMOS needs replacing as the date has been dodgy but it went back to normal but right before it broke it thought it was 4am when it was midday.I want to replace the CMOS myself as I've found out that it is just a normal battery however getting to the on this laptop is really difficult and I don't have non conductive tools or the expertise. Is it possible for me to use the windows recovery disc in this situation and for it to temporarily work in the mean time before I get the the battery replaced?I hope someone can help. I am this close to replacing the battery myself as I can't afford taking it in for repair
