Preferred Solution: My internet EXPLORER browser can not connect to one particular Web Site!!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello all,
I have a little problem with windows vista loading the Disney web page. It seems that whenever i load the site, it always says i do not have the latest version of flash in my computer and i need to update it however, when i load the page in Firefox or another third party browser, it loads up just fine without any issue. I am running windows vista with ie7 and i have tried the site on an xp machine with ie7 as well and have absolutely no problems loading the page up. I am at a loss because i know my flash is installed and flash works fine. I am gonna continue searching the disney site for some form of a support system or try to find a way to remove flash from the machine and reinstall it. Thanks for help in advance.

I have tried most of the posts on the internet to fix this problem--this is under IE6--"Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later." The problem just suddenly appeared. I'm running a Dell Inspiron B130 laptop with Win XP Home, Service Pack 3 installed, 1 gb ram and a 40 gb HDD. Had McAffee Internet Security Suite preinstalled but removed it via REVO Uninstaller and have only Windows firewall enabled and NO anti-virus. I did try downloading with Windows firewall disbaled and still no success. I can navigate to a site like Google Chrome download page but then when I click on the download button, the error message appears. Also can't download Microsoft or Windows updates from either site, although, again, I can get through the "checking" phase. I've run Malwarebytes, A-Squared, and IObit 360 and removed about 13 traces of malware ranging from low risk to high risk, defragged and cleaned the reg, all to no avail. I originally had IE7 installed, read about rolling back to IE6 and doing the typical repair sequences, again to no avail. Supposedly IE8 fixes this, but I can't download it, although I did try the stand-alone installer of 15 MB without checking the "get updates" box. It loaded and installed and shows up as IE8 but still had the same problems. Then did a system restore back to before the IE8 install, rolled back to IE6 again... Read more

After these updates, the internet explorer 11 starts working weirdly.
It is intermittently not able to connect to the internet. All the intranet sites are connecting fine.
Has anyone faced similar issue?
A solution would be much appreciated.

I am using windows xp home on a hp 523n pavilion. Over the last few days
, I have not been able to connect to a specific site, namely www.eloan.com. All other sites are accessible.
I have tried on both firefox and internet explorer, and I get an error
message(Failed to connect--Firefox can't establish a connection to the serv
er at www.eloan.com.), and a similar message on IE.The site is up, I ac
cessed from another computer in a different location. I am using comodo
firewall. There are no blocked sites on it.I reinstalled it, uninstalled it and put on a different firewall(still couldn't access the site) andfinally reinstalled it again. Still no luck. I called my ISP, they said the problem is not with them. I called Eloan, and they told me that the problem is not on their end. I downloaded chrome, and couldn't connect to the eloan site either.
I imagine the problem is with my computer and not a specific browser, since none of the 3 browsers can access that page. All other sites work fine.
Suggestions appreciated..

Hi - Can someone please help me. I got the AV Care virus on my Windows XP PC (Dell) - I think I have it cleared completely - all scan's come up clean. However since then I cannot get on to the Internet - via the Web page name. I have been able to log onto to the router - ping the site e.g. www.google.com - this returns an Ipaddress - when I enter this IP address in the address bar - the google site appears. However if I type www.google.com .. it can't find the page.
When I do ping www.google.com at the cmd prompt - again it doesn't resolve theh name - doesn't give me any IP indormation back.
Yahoo.com does like wise - but when I have the page up - if I hit any links - it just falls over. I have tried EVERYTHING .. but to no avail. Can anyone help - I'm trying to get this fixed for over a week now !!

I have checked DNS setting - all look ok .. Obtain DNS automatically is ticked ..

A:Cannot connect to Internet via site name

Open a command prompt and type "ipconfig /all". That will show all of your IP and config settings, including the DNS servers in use. You can then see if your PC is pulling any DNS server information.

Hi,
I am running Apache2 and Tomcat on my Windows XP pro computer. I am using a D_link wireless rounter, on which I've opened both ports 80 and 8080. I've checked the "virtual server http" box as a service running on my network that internet users can access, in the advanced settings of my internet connection and I have turned off my internet shield on my f-secure virus protection.

I have been able to connect to it from laptops connected to my wireless router but I cannot connect to it from the internet (my LAN). I need it available for a project I am doing at school and I am pretty sure can't use an isp because it includes databse queries and entries (mySQL on my computer).

when I try to ping my ip address from other computers, i get no response. I've had the same ip address for awhile, but I am using dhcp. I'm not too familiar with servers and all the things behind the curtains that make them work so its hard to troubleshoot. My ip address is a class c (beginning with 192. about the only thing i remember from my networks class...). I think that is all the info you might neet to help! But please help!

A:Can connect to my site on LAN but not from internet

When you connect to your Windows XP system from inside your LAN, you use it's router supplied (via DHCP) IP address which would likely be something like 192.168.0.x since you have a D-Link router.

However, when you try to connect to your system from outside your LAN, you need to use the WAN address of your router (since noone outside your network can see your LAN addresses). To find out your router's WAN address, go to:

http://www.ipaddressworld.com/

Depending on how you are trying to communicate with your system, you will need to forward the appropriate ports and protocols on your router to the internal IP address of your Windows XP system. This is the most confusing part and will be your biggest challenge in getting the connectivity to work.

Be aware that by doing this, you are portentially opening up your system to all kinds of problems - viruses, trojans, spyware, etc. - since your router's firewall will no longer be protecting your system from "intruders".

Hey all.

Well, my problem is rather complicated it seems.

My internet connection works 110% fine but I cannot access my own website. Now, the domain is there and works because I've contacted about 10 or so people and everyone can access my site just fine. I've gone to two different friend's houses and, again, everything works fine and I can get on my site AND access my control panel. I've even talked with my host which is http://www.surpasshosting.com and they've also assured me that everything is up and running. They've even told me to check if I could connect to my site via the proxy site anonymouse.org and I was able to see my site!

So, everything is fine on the domain/host side.

I've contacted my ISP and everything works great on their side as well. They've even helped me checked if my computer was blocking the particular site and it wasn't. We even tried disabling my firewall to see if that was the problem and nothing. I still can't connect.

I'm trying to connect to the particular site on the following browsers and it won't work on any of them:

IE - 7.05
Opera - 9.26
Firefox - 2.0.0.12

I get errors that the browser can't connect or access the site but it won't say why.

Whats up with that ? Am I missing some file or is this just another glitch ?
Didn't happen with IE7, and may just go back to it.

A:internet explorer cannot open the internet site...

Did you try other sites ? That is a quick check to see if the problem is your browser. And it would need to be a site that uses similar setup. So if the page that doesn;'t display has lots of javascript, go to another one that has lots of javascript, etc.

On one of my sites, sometimes one particular page wouldn't display. I had to re-edit it, upload, it works fine now. So it may not be your browser. It could be that site.

Hi, perkinshershel, and welcome to the forums.
Have you performed any sort of autotuning disabling on your machine, or else 'tweaked' the TCP/IP settings?

FWIW, Vista doesn't do well with tweaked TCP/IP settings like XP does - it has an autotuning feature that dynamically changes the values for various settings n the TCP/IP stack as needed, thereby making the need for tweaked TCP/IP settings a thing of the past.

Looking for some advice: I am creating a website and need to test the site using IE 6. Does anyone know of a place that I can test my site using IE 6 browser. I currently have IE 7 installed, but when I view my site using IE6 the 3 column template does not fit on the home page.

I don't want to run IE6 on my computer or both versions of IE... Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Do you have a spare computer that you could install IE 6 on and open the website using that. Even better create a virtual machine on your computer then install Windows XP evaluation on it and open the site using your virtual machine.

Microsoft have a free tool to make and run virtual machines called Microsoft Virtual PC.

A:internet explorer freezes on some site need help

Hi defkickjam

Did you build the system, or did someone build it for you? If someone built it for you, and you are experiencing freezes within two weeks, you may want to contact the builder.

If you built this yourself ---

1) Have a look in the EventViewer logs to see if any errors or warnings coincide with the system unresponsiveness. (EventViewer is in the Administrative Tools in Control Panel).
2) Thoroughly scan for malware -- if you have run the PC for any extended period without the firewall or antivirus enabled, malware could be causing the trouble.
3) Try using a different browser (Firefox is fairly good) & see if the problem exists using all browsers, or just one.
4) If you are currently logging into Vista as a "limited" user, try logging on as a user with administrative rights.
5) Have you changed any of the UAC settings recently? If so, try moving them back to their default settings. A security message might be trying to display, & Vista is hanging while waiting for a reply.

Best of luck

My Internet Explorer is not loading one particular site but another browser is.  The site in question was once a part of Kaspersky's Smart Money list and is a bank.  It has been deleted and that software was recently upgraded to a newer product (Total Security).  I do not know if the a/v is the issue or not.  What I do know is that when I try to load the web page, the browser comes back VERY quickly and states that the address is wrong or my connection to the Internet is down.  Neither is true, of course.

I need some assistance to trouble shoot and try to find out a way to fix this.

System is a HP ENVY, Windows 8.1 x64, IE 11. All MS updates are current.
Thanks
shley

My browser is IE8. Window XP Home with SP2 (Sony VAIO Desktop PCV-RS420, Pentium-4, 2.8 Ghz, 512MB Ram). I am now unable to connect to the Internet. The network diagnostic for window XP kept saying to check firewall settings for HTTP(port 80), HTTPS(port 443), and FTP (port 21).  I don't know how to do that. I open the Window firewall settings on the Security Center page (Exception tab), it lists programs and services on the "Exception", ie, to not block incoming network connection from these programs or services, which include "Internet Explorer",on the list, which seems to be appropriate.  But my computer still will not connect to the Internet--very frustrating.  I  have done "System Restore" a few times to an earlier dates, thinking maybe the computer picked up some virus and the System restore function should temporarily resolve that issue.  But still no luck.   Finally, I tried connecting to a secured website with "HTTPS" in the address bar and the computer appeared to be successful to connect to these HTTPS sites, but it continued to refuse to connect to a regular website(i.e. with "HTTP" in its address bar).  Please help me resove these internet connection issues I would vey much appreciate.

May have nothing to do with your problem...but you really need to install SP3 and all critical updates since its issuance...that may take care of your problem, but even if it doesn't...your system will be less vulnerable.

Installing or reinstalling SP3... has been known to overcome various previous system problems.

Sounds to me like corruption affecting non-secure websites, so you may also want to reinstall IE8.

Running Internet Explorer v.8
We have a computer at our office, that as of this morning, IE won't connect to any webpages. We've gone through the diagnostic tool - but the remedies it presents do not affect the problem.
Email (through Outlook 2007) connects fine and is receiving email fine.
All network drives can also be reached with no problems.

There is also no other computer in our office experiencing this problem.

I'd appreciate any suggestions anyone has. thx

Hello,

Well I will try to be descriptive as possible in the issues and how they came to be. Additionally, I have followed all steps in the "pre-post" with the exception of Updating Windows. The reason being, I cannot go to windows update through mozilla and if I open internet explorer ... my computer will be bombarded.

The Issue:

This took some time for him to come clean, but my son evidentally got a game online and didn't have a registration key. He says he tried to find one online and went to a page for serials, clicked on the link and then all this happened.

Unfortunately, being scared that he might've messed up his father's computer , he just walked away and allowed whatever was happening to run its course. The result is repetitive and at this point I am quite lost on what to do.

When I came home from work, I found my computer with all kinds of popups, error messages, etc going and additionally a task manager blocker so I couldnt get to ctrl alt del. I shut down, rebooted in safe mode and ran spy sweeper (my default engine) and then adaware.

There were alot of results, the list I do have if needed. Based on the "severity" indicator ... the top 10 programs were pretty severe. Quarantined and deleted (with system restore off). I should note here that I was told that there was a virus running in the memory (that warning is no longer occurring with the anti-virus/spyware/etc.

After I restarted I got two blocked access dialogs, but ... Read more

High Speed Internet (Videotron.ca)

After repairing my computer by deleting Malware or Trojan with BleepingComputer (www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic389668.html), during the following days I noticed that ONLY at our favorite site (www.cyberpresse.ca) certain parts move as if in a tremor. The main page which contains the titles of all the articles, is ok. But when I click on a detailed article that's when the tremors start. The detailed article contains several boxes for related articles and those boxes move up and down with certain lines of the article that are situated near the bottom of the boxes. This doesn't happen with other sites. I checked the same site with our neighbor computer. The fault is in my computer. Can u help me ? Thank you !

A:Pages jolt at one site in Internet Explorer

I found the answer to my problem. When I click on a detailed article, there is an icon, mostly on top of a box, "F recommended" (F recommender) that causes the tremor. It seems that it is a Facebook problem that they are trying to resolve. I switched off "Compatibility view" in TOOLS of Internet Explorer. Now it moves only once when the icon "F recommended" comes on. Another solution, is to switch from Internet Explorer 8 to Internet Explorer 9.

For example, when I clicked on the link above, Download TSG SysInfo, I get this popup: "SysInfo.exe couldn't be downloaded". I tried to download Adobe Reader and got the same thing. I cannot open a pdf file from an email message. I have tried many solutions from many internet sites, but none worked. I reset IE to default setting, messed around with manage add-ons and other settings, but no luck. I ran full scan with Microsoft security essentials and malware, no threats detected. disabled windows firewall, didn't help. I can surf the internet ok, but sometimes get the pop-up, internet explorer has stopped working. I would ditch IE and use google chrome but can't download it. the problem seems to be with IE.
My computer is a dell i660, intel core i5-3330 with windows 7 home premium 64 bit, about 2 years old and works great otherwise.
any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks krob28

Please help. I cannot access any web site that requires a login, which I guess means any secure site. I get the "page cannot be displayed" page, and have tried all of the options they provide at the bottom with no success. Resetting the security level, deleting files and cookies, and ensuring 128-bit security have all failed. Anyone that has an idea, please post, my PC is pretty much useless to me otherwise. Thanks.

The web server is Apache 1.3. Have tried with IE 8 in 3 different machines and none of them work.
