Lenovo 930 Power Bank Suggestions?

Q: Lenovo 930 Power Bank Suggestions?

Anyone have any suggestions for a power bank to use with the C930? This is the one I was taking a look at on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Power-Delivery-Charger-20000-Output/dp/B078RTGL35/ref=sr_1_3?rps=1&ie=UTF8&qi... The power bank is 45W. However, the C930 charge is 65W. According to the seller, it will work with the C930 but not charge as quickly as the older generation C920, which is 45W. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

You can find a huge collection by searching ?power banks for laptops? on a search engine. You just need to compare things like capacity, weight, and price.  The power bank should have a USB standard charging port and a DC output port as well. I have bougth a power bank in Pakistan for my laptop last year from Doortodoor.pk an online shopping store, ask their support team to guide you which is better for your laptop

Hi all, I just started a grad school program that requires me to be in class for a number of hours each day. Unfortunately, the class has limited power outlets so I won't always be guaranteed one. I'm looking into a power bank/external battery charger for the Y500 but can't seem to find one that is compatible. I was told the power specs of my laptop are 19.5v 6.15A, but the issue is that most of the ones I've found online have a max output of 5A. Does anyone have a recommended item? Thanks for your help!

Hello Everyone, I am considering the purchase of a specific power bank for my L540 laptop. The product is the Vinsic 30000mah. I can't seem to get clarification on whether my Lenovo laptop will successfully hook up with the PB and take the charge. As far as I can tell, the PB has a lot of muscle and is well-recommended. The PB comes with 8 adaptors; for Lenovo products it lists a  7.9*10 mm adaptor. It says it has 3 output ports: 1 DC output up to 19V 3.5A, with a max output current of 4.5A; and 2 Smart USB outputs, with output up to 5V 2.4A.  It also says it has 2 Input ports: 1 DC input and 1 Micro USB input. I am uncertain if the specs on my L540 make it compatible with the features listed shown above. Can someone with expertise advise me if I'm Ok to go ahead with the purchase based on the features? Many thanks!

Good day and welcome to the community.

The Yoga 3 Pro looks for 20V input, 4x what that power bank can output. Also, the proprietary cable has extra contacts.

There may be power banks that can supply the proper voltage, but I think it unlikely that one has the proprietary receptacle configuration to match the cable.

Has anyone tried this or have a story to tell about power banks? My relatively new X1C does quite poorly on battery if I'm doing real work, e.g. compiling and running apps with Visual Studio & SQL Server.  Fiddling with the battery settings doesn't make that much of a difference so I thought why not carry a brick with me when on the road? I'm just starting to look into it but real stories from real users are just so much better than generic 'reviews' or hidden adverts that have become all too commonplace in the last few years.

Hello,

This problem is from a friend of mine but he doesn't has a computer now. Yesterday he was charging his powerbank through his Laptop (Asus bought 3 months ago) USB port. After a while the computer was shutdown and won't turn on, even when it's plugged through its power adapter.

Is there any solution to this?
Thanks!

A:Laptop wont turn on after charging power bank

Hi and welcome to TSG.

As annoying as it can be to have to do it, your best option if it appears totally dead is to RMA the laptop if it is only 3 months old. Fiddling about with it too much trying to diagnose the problem could end up invalidating any warranty your friend has.

The only simple checks I would do are to try and power it up with and without the power cord connected.
Then remove the battery (assuming it is a removable one) and try it again with the power adapter attached.

It could be a problem with the laptop or that the power brick has just failed, it happens occasionally.

Hi all, got this power bank (40AL140CWW) for my P1. It is listed as acceptable for the system on the Option Compatibility Matrix (January, 2019). Got it a while back, tested it, worked fine: https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/9uyew4/fieldtesting_the_lenovo_usbc_14000mah_power_bank/ Using it today (charged yesterday) ... all four lights on the bank come on when I plug it into my P1, but, the system is behaving differently ... previously, the bank powered the unit and its LEDs went off one by one as the charge decreased; the main battery indicator on the bottom did not move off 95%. This time, the main battery indicator shows a decreasing level of charge, and so far, the bank still has four LEDs illuminated. Even weirder, the "remaining time" at one point seemed to indicate the battery was present (showing 8+ hours remaining) but now, even that has changed, and the system is acting like there is no power bank installed at all (shows 3 hours and 33 min [77%] remaining.) I am using the USB-C power cord that came with the bank. Is it defective? TIA, -kj-

The current power supply I have is a 450 Watt that came with the tower, however i'm looking to upgrade to a minimum of 750 Watts.

On a side note; i'm willing to go as high as a 850 Watt power supply.

Ideal PSU: 700-750 Watt Moduler 80-Plus Gold/Platinum reliable, silent and efficient power supply for my computer (Check my spec's!). If not, somewhere around that area.
Another thing I wanted to ask, is the XFX ProSeries going to be branching out to 700-750W soon? Apart from it's great performance, I'm interested in the Hybrid Fan feature.
Looking forward to the suggestions!

I've (finally) decided to upgrade my graphics card, and would like external opinions on which options are best. I would prefer to spend within a $240 budget, which would have to suffice for the costs of both a graphics card and power supply, as my current PSU is a stock model with a measly 300W output. I would greatly appreciate any ideas, suggestions, or insight. Thanks in advance.

*Also, I don't make online purchases, so retailer available items would be helpful.

A:Suggestions for New GFX Card and Power Supply

Here is the new CX500 model, the CX500M. It is semi-modular and an all around great PSU.

As for a video card.....what are your expectations? After that PSU, that leaves $160-170 left for a graphics card. Is the $240 firm, or can you add a few more dollars to it?

I just saw the part about not buying online........I have no idea what is local to you, but expect to pay a little more for it, or stay within the $240 budget and get less for your money.

Just to add: If you DO decide to do some online shopping, NCIX is the place to do it since you are in Canada.

A:Power supply suggestions for my XPS 8700

en.community.dell.com/.../19611037 has many examples.
Sasonic X-650 is my go-to standard, and is more than enough for any single graphics card.
Do you already have the GTX 780? If not you might consider a GTX 1060 6GB gaming edition. The newer cards are more power efficient and I think a GTX 1060 is roughly equal to a GTX 780.
A GTX 1060 will work with the OEM power supply. Some GTX 1060 cards need a single 8 pin and if the card does not come with a dual 6 pin to single 8 pin reverse Y adapter, they can be found on eBay for about $7.00 USD shipped.
The other downside of a GTX 780 is the heat from the card. I ran an overclocked GTX 770 in an xps 8700 and it got hot. I cut the front of the case and added an intake fan and it helped, however after upgraded to a GTX 970 it ran much cooler.
The GTX 1060 is slightly faster/more powerful than the 970 and it produces even less heat than the 970 so it should do fine with the stock 8700 case.
good luck. post pics on the thread above when you do the upgrade.

So I have been having some pc problems and I can't really pinpoint the source. Last week my pc broke down. It would't turn on. When I tried this message appeared: "Reboot and select proper boot device.". I thought to myself, it's probably the hard drive. I took to a local store that I always go to get my pc fixed. They run the tests and told me it was really the hard drive. So I bought a new one.

PC works fine for 2 days then problems start to show up again. Whenever a I try to run some high end games like Fallout 4 or Witcher, problems start to appear. I play the game fine, no fps drop or anything, then outta of nowhere trees or whatever it is on the eviroment stops loading and the game freezes for awhile, then it comes back later. I can tell the game will freeze, normally because the background music in the game stops. However, I did not have any problems playing some other not demanding pc games, like LoL, or using the internet. Problems seem to start to show up after I play those high end games.

I don't know if the problem is on the new HD that I bought, maybe my i5, the motherboard or just some cables. I cleaned my machine and unplugged the cables to see if it could get any better but it didin't.

Hello - I'll try to be succinct and cover everything I have tried. I have a T410 i7 with Win 7 installed along with all the drivers.  It has been working fine but I seem to be experiencing a power issue.  This first manifested itself as the screen going blank and refusing to come back on.  Thinking it was overheating my partner opened it up and cleaned out the fan (my partner fixes Lenovos as a field engineer) and applied thermal paste to the processor.  All seemed well.I was working on it, plugged in, when suddenly it shut down.  I tried to restart it but without success so I left it plugged in (with the orange light flashing) and went off to have supper.  When I came back, the orange light was still flashing so I decided to leave it to charge overnight.Next morning - orange light still flashing and although it would power up there were odd things going on when I looked in Power Manager.  It showed the battery as being good for 35 hours (although I knew that if I took the AC adapter out it would close down).  So I tried a different known good battery - same thing.  Then a different PSU - same thing.  On the desktop, it shows as charging for half a dozen animations then goes static - Power Manager says it's charging but doesn't display the 'time left to fully charge' and isn't actually charging at all. So - here are the things I've changed and tested at each step:1)  The battery2)  The PSU (trying both 90w ... A:Suggestions On Graphics Card/Power Supply

Go here, then click the "Download Program" button and allow the HardwareProfiler.exe file to run.

Once the scan and analysis is finished, a new window will appear.

Click the "Power Analysis" button. It'll show you the minimum power supply rating, based on your current hardware.

When you consider the additional load of a more powerful graphics card and hard-core gaming, you'll see that the current 250 watt power supply won't do it.
