Preferred Solution: The touchscreen does not function

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello together,

i have been using nice nice device now since a few weeks and starting to get troubles with it.

I have the problem that randomly the touchscreen get without any function, i can touch the screen
however i want but without any reaction.

It just starts without starting any applications or anything before, i just browsing in the web and from one second to another.

If i restart the PC, everything is working normal again, i still using the drivers that were pre-installed and did not any changes to the Drivers so far.

Any suggestions what could cause this issue ?

Kind Regards

A:Satellite U920T-10G - touchscreen without any function

Hi

In my opinion an process which controls the touchscreen hangs or does not response anymore and therefore you cannot get the touchscreen function to work.

Would recommend to reinstall the +Toshiba System Driver+ from Toshiba EU driver page.
If this does not help try the system recovery and test the unit with factory settings.

My touchscreen suddenly stopped functioning.  No known update recently - have been running Windows 10 for months now with no problem.  When I went into my device manager, I noticed that the "HID-compliant touchscreen" under the Human Interface Devices dropdown is hidden. When I find it by showing hidden devices, there are no drivers there for it (the box just says that "no driver files are required or have been loaded for this device"), so something must have removed it. Any idea how to get those drivers back so that my touchscreen will function again?  It's like my PC doesn't recognize that my display should be touchscreen capable.  I don't even have a calibrate

Touchscreen function disappeared over a year ago. My brother fixed the thing and it came back. For a week or so. Then gone for six months. Then it came back on its own.  AND THEN, two updates keep failing. Then it appears they worked because I get an Uptodate message via Assistant, but lo and behold, next boot, they still need to be installed.
After the last FIX of the touchscreen, by removing it and reinstalling it along with another update, it disappeared it seems permanently.  It does not appear in my hardware anywhere, not in hidden either.
I suspect, but I am not a tech person, that the failed updates are failing because the architecture of my system now says I have a mouse and a generic PnP monitor.
Oh, yes, and System detect won't install anymore.  I don't know now whether I am complaining or looking for yet another suggestion on fixing.

So I've had this happen countless times. The touchscreen stops working. The laptop is in perfect conditions. The screen, not even a scratch. I format the laptop, it still doesn' work. So, I've always fixed it by installing the AUO Touchscreen Firmware/ sp63116.exe from:http://support.hp.com/mx-es/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-14-f000-sleekbook/5375393/model/5403360#... My problem atm is that this time, that process isn't working. The installer opens, installs the thing, then the program opens and immediately closes. This prompts windows to ask me if the driver installed correctly or that if it should attempt to install under a compatibility mode. No matter which I choose, it still does the same thing. It won't stay open for more than 1 second.  I've restored my laptop to factory presets a couple times already and the touchscreen isn't working yet because the driver/program/wizard thingy refuses to stay open after it is done installing. Can anybody help me? Perhaps share a different version of the installer? Thank you.

SOme info about the laptop. Product Name: Sleekbook HP Pavilion 14-f004lOperating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit) I've had this problem a couple times already. The touchscreen stops working sporadically and the only way to make it work again is installing the  AUO Touchscreen Firmware/ sp63116.exe driver from this site. however this last time I've run into quite the weird problem. The driver installer CLOSES INMEDIATELY BEFORE I CAN DO ANYTHING A couple months ago I posted this:http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/AUO-Touchscreen-Firmware-installer-doe... Since then due to time constrains and schoolwork, I did not attempt to restore the BIOS until today.Today I restored the BIOS, followed all procedures they gave me, and the installer for the Touchscreen firmware does the following: -Runs-Asks for permission-Install it-Finishes installing-Runs the program's window-Inmediately closes, I can't even click on anything because it flashes for a second and disappears. I've already restored the laptop to factory presets. The installer DOES THE SAME THINGRestored the BIOS. The installer DOES THE SAME THING So please, do not tell me to restore the laptop. I've done it already. Doesn't work. Same thing for the BIOS. Nothing. Can anyone help me? Thank you

I recently acquired a HP Pavilion all in one pc but there seem to be problems with the touchscreen. It registered touches very intermittently, and not always where I touched. First thing I tried was to calibrate it. But it just wouldn't register certain touches in some of the places it wanted me to press. Nest i Reset everything to factory settings, still not working same probs. Installed all the latest drivers and updates, no joy. But one morning I did turn it on and it worked perfectly. For half a day and then it was up to its old tricks.
Took it to a computer shop and they said it needed a new touchscreen card. Basically I want to know, do these touchscreen sort of devices have a piece of hardware, the card, specifically for touchscreen. or is he lying to me and its some software problem he could fix in ten minutes. He's quoting around £40for the card. And another £20-£30 for the labour. Any help would be much appreciated. If there is a card just for the touchscreen then I could believe him. But ive never heard of a card just for that. Any help would be so much appreciated. Had this around 3 weeks for my daughter to use the touchscreen as shes too young for mouse and keyboard, but she'd like a number of touchscreen games as she's very adept at using touchscreen on her tablet. Thanks and sorry for the long post.

Here's the deal - I have a quick shortcut to my C drive on the desktop, so that I can just double-click it and go straight to browsing my files. However, today, the search function decided to make itself the primary function. When I double-click it now, it opens a search window instead of the C: drive.

Can someone tell me how to make it so double-clicking it will, by default, use the "open" function instead of "search?" Thanks in advance!

Just recently, my Windows 8.1 desktop seems to have developed two issues. Not completely sure they are related, but upon doing some research on the internet, it seems that they may be.

First issue I noticed is that I cannot open any of my pictures using the photo app. Normally I open images with Windows Photo Viewer, which still works, but occasionally, I open them using the "open with" function with the photo app (Photo) for quck editing, like cropping, etc. Today, when I tried to open anything in the app, the app comes up, thinks for a second, then goes black and minimizes itself to the tray at the bottom of the screen. If I click on that, it simply goes through the same process. No error messages, just no image and it won't stay up on the screen. So in googling this problem, some mention the Windows Search indexing may not be picking up the photos. I go to the "start" screen as I normally do and simply start typing services.msc to bring up that services window, but nothing happens, and instead of getting a list of search choices as normal, the screen just freezes for a minute. I then clicked on the little magnifying icon to bring up the search box, and again, nothing happens and the screen freezes for a minute.

So I manually went to Services and checked to make sure that the Search service is on, and it is, it is set to "automatic (delayed start)" I tried switching it to just the automatic start, but that did not make any difference. ... Read more

Hi there,
Its been a while since my last post and Im guessing that can only be good news as I must be getting a bit more savvy?

I am however having a bit of an issue with a touchscreen. The model is CR 500 LD from "chinavision" (CVJU -E38) Touchscreen

http://www.chinavasion.com/product_info.php/pName/15-inch-touchscreen-lcd-with-vga/

And I am having problems installing it, when I install the drivers the computer will not restart with the monitor connected. If I try a different monitor the computer starts fine. With the touchscreen it starts to load then resets the computer and just loops the start, never getting to the desktop. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and tried the monitor on a second computer and it does exactly the same.

Im running the monitor on an intel board with a 2.4 processor with 2gb ram and only the OS installed and Im running XP Pro

If I unplug the monitor and do a blind start up I can plug the monitor in after the PC has started and use it normally, but after shutdown it enters the loop again on next start up?

Can anyone advise?

Thankyou

Steve

A:Touchscreen

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode? Press/tap F8 when you turn your computer on, right as the BIOS screen disappears and the Windows plash screen is about to show up. What version of Windows do you have and what exact Gateway laptop do you have? You might also try going into the BIOS and see if there's an option to disable the touchscreen there, but very few laptops have that option. You can also try disassembling the screen or laptop base and see if there is a separate cable for the touch part of the screen, some laptops use two separate cables but others use a single cable for the entire screen.

A:HP Touchscreen Help

Hi hrdrck4ever,
Find the location that the files were unzipped to. In that location is either a setup.exe or install.exe. You would run that.

If you are unable to find the location where the files became unzipped to you might want to install a program like Winzip or Winrar. After ward you right click on the .zip file (driver) you downloaded and there is an option where you can tell it to unzip to a location that you are familiar with like My Documents folder.

Okay, I bought this HP 15-F387wm refurb from walmart.com back a couple months ago. This thing originally came from the warehouse with 10.
Specs:
AMD A8-7410 APU, 2.2 GHz triple core with Radeon R5 graphics integrated
4 GB DDR3 PC-12800 RAM
500 GB (assuming) Hitachi 5400 RPM disk drive
DVD-RW
15" TOUCHSCREEN display

10 was nothing but a headache. Updates wouldn't install. Bloatware wouldn't delete. When the Start menu finally quit working (click and nothing would happen), I decided to downgrade to 7 Ultimate x64, which I have on 2 other PCs here.

Took 3 hours and a lot of headaches with the UEFI junk, but it is running 7. Had a bit of trouble finding the drivers for everything, but I did. No device conflicts, no flags in Device Manager, nothing.

Touchscreen DOES NOT WORK. It worked fine with 10. On System Information page, Pen and Touch lists "Single Touch Input Available". I have reset the settings in Control Panel>Pen and Touch several times. I have uninstalled all of the HID Compliant Devices and even the PnP Generic Monitor and let the system reboot. Still no touchscreen. Can't access touchscreen through hardware diagnostics menu in BIOS, it's not listed. Tried everything I could find about trying to get it to work on the HP site and got nothing. And, of course, being an HP, they don't support downgrades.

A:No touchscreen after downgrade from 10

Hello and welcome maverickh1l no offence but buying a refurb not a good move in my mind because it has been refurb'd for a reason and that could be anything from faulty components, install etc etc

Now it could be that the touch screen driver is only supported in 10 and if the 10 was so bad in operation why didn't you take the machine back - you must have had a warranty which I am guessing they would void now seeing you have got 7 on board.

The other thing that crosses my mind is how important is the touch screen to you. Personally I find them rather grubby (and unhygienic) and I see no advantages over using the KB and mouse - or is it that the touchpad is not working - have I got that right or not??

Another thing is that edition of Windows was Ultimate really necessary, is it an OEM or retail copy, and and did you get it from a legit source - again no offence intended.

Hi - my touchscreen has cracked and the touchscreen isn't working. Would love to get the spec of the replacement part I need to order as I'm worried I won't order the right one - seems to be a load of combinations.

Thanks

I wish to by a software for digital artwork (namely Clip Studio Paint), for which it would obviously be best to use the touchscreen for my illustrations. I have the Pavilion 11-n084sa x360, and I realise that the typical rubber-ended touchscreen pens aren't detected by the screen. I have already asked in a forum of the drawing software if an electronic stylus that may be compatible with my computer is included in their package. Now here, I'd like to ask if there are any fine-tipped styluses compatible with my laptop at all and where i could buy them. I can't do much without one, so please help! Thanks in advance!

I accidently closed my laptop with the usb for a wireless mouse left on the opposite side off the keyboard where the power button is placed. It left a very small crack on the screen. I can?t even feel the crack. But yet the touchscreen does not work. How can such a small crack on the bottom right of the laptop screen, cause the entire screens touch feature to not work? Is there anything I can do to get the touch screen to work without replacing the entire screen?

I bought this laptop a few days ago and I have experienced ghost touches a number of times since purchasing it. On one such occasion, the screen acted like it was being touched over and over again in the bottom left portion of the screen. Nothing could be accomplished while this was happening and I had to shut it down. On other occasions, it will only hit once but it will select something I don't want selected. For instance, if I have mulitple tabs open in a web browser, it will switch between the tabs when I haven't even done anything. It also has a habit of selecting things when I drag my finger across the screen to scroll, or it will zoom in and zoom out when I am simply scrolling on the screen, disrupting what I am working on. Does anyone know of a solution to this or do I need to submit a warranty claim? Thanks.

Hi. My computer has a problem on the touchscreen. The comands on the screen are being frequently activated even if I didn't touch the screen. I used the app HP Support Assistant to open a case to solve the problem (I already a case number). As I am living in Brazil, it gave me a phone number from HP assistant in São Paulo, BR. I called them but they told me they are not supposed to fix it, once the computer was bought in Canada. The only thing they did was to update the touchscreen software, but after that the problem got even worst, the comands are even more frequent now. My warranty is still valid until 07/26/2018. This problem is preventing me to use the computer, once it keeps opening other programs, windows (...) without my comand. So I can't even use it to work.

Hi, i have an issue with my  AIO 700-24ISH All-in-One (ideacentre). Its only about 6 months old and i have started having problems with my touchscreen. Since last week it keep clicking itself in the top left corner. Sometimes so much that even the mouse cant overide it, and i have to use the keyboard to shut down.  It comes and goes, but for now i have simply disabled the touchscreen to get around it. But obviusly i dont see this a permanent solution considering the computer is only 6 months old. I have tried unplugging and holding down the power button to get rid of any static. I tried doing a scan for any updated drivers, but nothing has worked. Any reccomendations?  Thanks

A:Touchscreen going crazy

I cannot be sure without seeing it, but usually this is a hardware problem with a short in the touch digitizer.  Do you have a warranty?
