I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi there, I have a spectre x360 which I am using with 2 monitors: 1 x 24in monitor plugged via HDMI - HDMI lead1 x 27in monitor pluged via mini DP - full size DP lead I have the laptop screen and the 2 monitor screens on at the same time - so effectivily im using a total of 3 screens. Everything works fine until the laptop goes to sleep. When I wake up the laptop, the laptop screen and the monitor plugged in via HDMI turn on. The monitor plugged in via display port doesnt wake up. The only fix is to unplug the mini displayport cable and plug it back in to the laptop - this wakes up the monitor. The issue with unplugging and plugging the cable back in is all the windows that I had opened get moved about and its very frustrating. Please advise how I can get the laptop to wake up both monitors. thanks

Hallo Community, I am using my X1 Carbon gen 4th with an external Monitor via HDMI cable. Now i would like to try to add another external Monitor on it. Without any docking station would be perfect. I notice that there is also a mini display port on my device. I suppose I can connect one monitor via HDMI and the other with mini Displayport? Will these two monitors work together at the same time? I would like to ask, if anyone has experience about that?   Thanks for the  inputs in advance!

Just found a very interesting problem.  I just purchased a new 27" monitor and connected to my Dell XPS (9343) using a mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable.  The laptop was on and running when I connected everything and closed the lid.  Everything was working beautifully, until I ran WIndows update and had to reboot.  Then all *** broke loose.  The machine started beeping like crazy and the battery charge light started blinking orange then white and then it shut down.  After I recovered from my almost heart attack (I thought my laptop had died)...I opened the lid and hit the power button and it started up fine.  I closed the lid after it rebooted, and continued to work fine.  So as a test, I restarted the laptop again with the lid closed while the external monitor was connected and again the beeping and the orange light blinking.  Proceeded to turn it back on with the lid open...everything fine.  I checked the BIOS settings and everything seems to be normal.   It seems there's a problem with this laptop not being able to be restarted in the closed lid position when an external monitor is connected (something I do ALL THE TIME with my Lenovo work laptop that is also connected to an external monitor).   Has anyone else had this problem?  Is Dell aware of this issue??

Well, running w7 ultimate on a Dell xps m1330 laptop. Everything looks good, but at work I am connected to a matrox triple-head-to-go device which is connected to (3) 22' monitors (3840x1280 resolution). Now when I connected it, ran the nvidia app, it found it and worked great.

Problem is I get home, no external connected, so running off the laptop with the basic resolution, I am trying to start apps (firefox, stickies, etc.) and I guess they were in other spots at work as I don't see them. I forced a close on FF, then re-started, rt clicking and maximizing which worked, but then other apps like stickies don't have that option. An alt-tab shows it running in the lower right (see screenshot), but there is absolutely no way of getting to the app! I did close the app completely and restarted, but it does restart in a location not on the screen.

Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

My HP Compaq Notebook runs on Windows 7. The Device Manager shows two network adapters, one being Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n and the other being a Microsoft virtual WiFi miniport adapter.
When I look at HP Support Assistant it indicates that the Microsoft adapter is not connected. I do not know if this information is or is not correct, but if it is could somebody kindly tell me :
a) Can two network adapters be operative at the same time and if they can would the Notebook work any better?
b) If the answers to (a) is yes how do I go about connecting the miniport adapter?
c) If the answer to (a) is no does it matter which of the adapters is connected?
Thank you.

Greetings! I'm experiencing a problem on what appears to be HP Prodesk 600 G2 computers exclusively.  Intermittently, when the computer wakes from sleep or standby, the computer loses its monitor drivers. When the computer wakes the monitor is now in 640x480 resolution and if you look in the Screen Resolution window it shows the current driver is the "Generic Non-PnP Monitor".  These computers are hooked up with dual HP displays of like model and when it happens the fix seems to be to simply restart the computer. While this is easy enough it is extremely disruptive to the work of our users and so I've been tasked with finding a real fix to this problem. To that end I have updated the computer with the latest BIOS from HP as well as the latest Intel graphics drivers from HP's website (Intel Graphics 530 chipset) but to no avail. We have also tried using different monitors and it continues to occur intermittently. Also, we have many HP Prodesk G1's in the building and none of these have this problem. This leads me to suspect that this is a problem exclusive to the Prodesk G2's and not with Windows or the monitors we are using. It should also be noted that both monitors are connected using the on-board display ports. My hunch is that it is the Intel Graphics 530 (onboard) graphics chipset that that's the problem but I don't think we should have to buy a seperate graphics card to get two displays to work on these computers especially when it's so clear th... On Amazon they have Mini-display port converters for Mac, they all seem to be Mac related, would a mac one work on my Windows PC? since it is just a converter? If not, then where could i buy one for PC for cheap?

I'm using a T430s and a mini dock plus series 3. This is the dock with the dual DVI, dual DisplayPort, 1x VGA. I do not use the laptop's built-in screen; just the 2 external monitors. Intel HD4000 graphic chip and Nvidia Optimus/ I previously had 2 20" monitors with a 1680x1050 resolution using DVI-to-DVI. They both worked fine. I upgraded to 2 24" monitors with a 1920x1200 resolution. The laptop is not recognizing the second monitor. I have tried:dual display port (dock side) to mini display port (monitor side): only 1 monitor recognizeddual dvi (dock side) to HDMI (monitor side): only 1 monitor recognizedI ruled out monitor and cable problems by swapping...each by itself works fine. Looking up specs, I believe this resolution should be supported by DP or DVI. Can anybody confirm that this is a supported config? Any ideas what is wrong? UPDATE - I did try 1 DP/mDP and 1 DVI/HDMI: this does work. However, its not an ideal solution because it would interfere with the monitors ports which I want to use for a second PC. UPDATE 2 - OK, now I am beyond aggrivated. I also have a support ticket w/ Lenovo where they suggested switching to Integrated Graphics only in the BIOS. I tried that, no luck. After changing that setting back, i tried to get my 1 DP / 1 DVI working, but now it would not recognize dual monitors. ??? After some testing, I'm finding that the -only- setup that works is the following: Dock DVI port 1 to Moni... A:Second monitor not detected: T430s with Mini Dock Plus Series 3 dual external monitor

Fixed; was a driver issue. Problem seems exclusive to a Dell u2415 on DP port 1 only of the dock or to the laptop's DP port (at least for the couple monitors I tried). It's possible it could affect other monitors. My starting point: 9.18.13.4535 / 9.17.10.2843 (Nvidia /  Intel) The latest driver from Lenovo is 9.18.13.4535 / 8.15.10.2725. I'm not sure how i have a slightly newer Intel, but that's what it was. I couldn't install the Lenovo driver. I also couldn't install a newer driver from Intel (10.18.10.4276). In both cases Windows or the Intel installer stopped me saying the mfr provided the drivers and that the installed version was up to date. I worked around by first rolling back the Intel driver. The manual (.zip) install of the latest intel driver worked. This immediately fixed the Dell u2415 on DP port 1 and laptop's built-in DP port.

I have an odd issue with my mini port that connects to monitors and big screen TVs: It won't work. Sometimes it works fine. I turn on the monitor or TV and connect the mini port adaptor (I have one for HDMI and one for Display Port) and the screen appears on the monitor or TV. Other times it simply DOES NOT WORK. Then, several days later, I boot up and connect to the port and it works as if nothing was ever wrong. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why this happens. When it does not work, I have tried everything and it refuses to recongize and identify the external display, which does not show in Display Properties. I have rebooted. I have tried connecting to the port in every order there is, before I turn on the Y 900, after. I have tried turning on the monitor before and after, or connecting the adatptor the monitor before and after booting up, etc. NOTHING WORKS. And it happens with all monitors and various cables and adaptors. There are times when I need it to be able to see my work (video editing, audio editing, Photoshop) because the native screen on the Y 900 is just too small. Why does this happen?  How can I get it work when I need it to work but it isn't working? Thank you.

A:Precision 7720 mini display port disabled

To my knowledge there's no way to disable the Mini DisplayPort output by design, so if it's not working, I don't think it could be a configuration issue.  If you haven't already tried toggling the "Graphics special mode" option, you may get different results by changing that setting, but the output is supposed to work either way, so that would just be some experimentation.  Otherwise, if you've already tried things like changing the cable and/or display (or you've validated that display and cable elsewhere), my guess is that this is a hardware issue that will require a motherboard replacement to resolve.

Hi,I have a ZBook 17 G2 and  its plugged into a docking station. Its been fantastic, however, seems wth the last update it installed on 9/25 (Intell Wireless LAN) my mini-display port no longer functions when plugged into the station. I had been working totally fine- being able to see an extended desktop on both the two regular monitors )plugged into dvi output on the dock) and the larger one plugged into the mini-display. If i remove the laptop from the dock, the mini-display port functions again, so I know its nothing wrong with either the external display, the cables or the the mini-display->HDMI adapter. Any idea how i can roll back that update? I think its the culprit, as it was functioning totally fine until it was installed. Thanks for your help,-Dan

i know you all work so hard, i'm sorry to bother you, but i'm hoping someone will be able to help me...

my 3mo. old used simpletech 320gb ext hd w/ replacement mini b to dual male usb cable ...i have committed some sins like, leaving it plugged in for long periods of time or accidentally pulling out the cord (and i want to mention that the other day after that happened, i could hear, very faintly, like the drive was skipping a little ...and i could not internally stop the drive and had to disconnect it once more to make its blue light go off) - but after that i plugged it in and it seemed to work okay still...) and, now the mini b connection (which i think stayed in place before) is now so fragile that, literally if i barely breathe while resting the drive on my lap (w/ my laptop) the drive will no longer be recognized by my computer... i have to be PERFECTLY still, i can barely get in to look at my files before it happens again...

do you think i should try a new cable, or duct taping the mini b (not too firmly though, because pushing the plug also makes it disconnect) in place ...or do you think i physically damaged the mini b port when the cord accidentally pulled out? ...do you think my files are toast?

i know you all work so hard and might not have time to help me but, thank you so much to anyone who took the time to read this...........................

I have a Dell Latitude 7280 Laptop with two Dell SE2417HG monitors.
The contrast on the monitor connected via VGA through an adaptor to the USB-C port is fine. The colour  on the Monitor connected via HDMI looks grey instead of black.
I tried swapping the connections, the result is that the monitor connected via HDMI the colour seems "washed out" while the monitor connected tot he USB-C is fine. It is therefore NOT the cables or the monitor. I did a further test with an USB-C to VGA & HDMI adaptor. Connected both monitors via the USB-C port one via HDMI cable and one via VGA. Contrast on both were the same and sharp!
This would therefore seem to be the solution, however, this configuration (having both monitors connected via USB-C) only allows one monitor to extend the desktop and not both and I need all three screens to work individually.
Id there a way to set the contrast on the HDMI port? - Changing the settings on the monitor does not work!
Thanks

I have a seriuos problem with my new T570 with Windows 10.  The T570 is connected to a monitor LG 24MB35PY-B with a cable HDMI to DVI. The T570 is up to date for his drivers and for Windows 10. But now the external display blank for about 1 second every 10-30 seconds (the interval is not stable). And I cannot work in this way. May be a recent driver update can be create the problem, because there isn't in the first days I connected the external monitor with HDMI to DVI. I installed also the Windows 10 driver for the LG monitor, but situation doesn't change. Can anyone help me? RegardsFabrizio P.S. I've been forced to choice the cable HDMI to DVI because the old W530 had only Display Port, so I buyed a monitor with Display Port, DVI and VGA, but the new Thinkpad T model have done downgrade from DP to HDMI. But why?

I have been using an HP Z display as an ext monitor, connected to my Pavilion 15 notebook using the hdmi port.  Following an update 2 days ago, the monitor no longer receives a signal from the hdmi port.  (I know the monitor and cable are ok as they work on another laptop). Any help or suggestions how to resolve this issue will be great!

Hi, I have a Carbon X1 Gen 6. When connected to an external display the laptop reboots at random times during operation. When the display is connected, but the laptop is not being used, it seems to remain on. The event viewer shows a few errors before the Critical Kernal-Power error. (events file is attached) All updates, including bios firmware are always up to date. I am posting here because this issue has been since I have owned the laptop. Any help would be apprecitied. Thanks

Hey guys, so i'm running B10074 on my laptop , and I connected my external display to it as well as my external keyboard and mouse at my desk so I could sit there and do the setup etc without moving all of that out of the way. I had the laptop lid shut and off to the side while I was doing this. Then, I shut the laptop down, unplugged all the external peripherals, and turned it on again. It went through the windows boot sequence with the spinning circles, then black screen. After 20 minutes of frustration, I realised that the laptop would show a login prompt only when I plug in the external monitor BEFORE i start it, and only if the laptop is closed while it is booting (when the lid is closed during boot, the Dell logo and spinning circles come up on the external display)

I further figured out that in Control Panel, it only displays the external display, its like the computer doesn't even recognise the internal display anymore. I dont know why that would be since when I first booted it up and installed drivers, I was using the internal display and everything was working fine.
Any help appreciated as well as pointers on not running into this again

A:I connected an external display to my laptop now no internal

Control Panel screenshot (normally this would have display '1' and '2')
