Cross Network internet?

Q: Cross Network internet?

I have a wireless home network set up but unfortunately the desktop PC I use for most of my CAD work does not have a wireless adapter and it would be more trouble than it is worth to run a wire to my home office. I am wondering if it is possible for me to have my laptop connected to the wireless network and have a second wired network set up in the office through a router and have the laptop feed the connection to the desktop through the second network. I attempted to google the question but couldn't think of a way to word it, or what the setup would even be called.

Anyways, thanks in advanced

Edit: fixed some spelling errors

Preferred Solution: Cross Network internet?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My laptop is connected to a router (DLink DSL 524T) via network cable. Although I could still connect to the net through the router there is a cross shown between the Network and Internet in the Networks and Sharing Center.

This isn't a big deal (since I connect to the internet) but I was wondering why the cross is there? Is there a way I could get it off?

P.S. - I've attached a screenshot of the networkd and sharing center in case my explanation was a bit confusing

Hello, recently here at work we've been having more and more trouble with the "Could not reconnect all network drives" popup when users log on to their computer. All network drives have a red cross on their icon in explorer. It's a wired network.
I've tried enabling the "Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon" policy under Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/Logon in the Group Policy Editor, but this didn't help. Updating the driver for the network card also
didn't help.
Once a user clicks on a network drive it instantly becomes available and stays available until the next reboot. The problem is that users have got programs which rely on having connection to certain network folders. So now they first need to open windows
explorer and click on each network folder to get it connect before they can open their program.
I've noticed users getting this error more and more after changing from 3com switches to cisco 2960 switches.
Anyone any ideas? (Switching back to 3com switches isn't an option)

A:Red X (cross) over network drive on startup, Could not reconnect all network drives.

Hello, thanks for your help. I seem to have found the problem. The switches are configured for spanning tree, now after changing the port where I'm connected on to use spanning-tree portfast instead of normal spanning-tree the problem disappeared. It
seems the spanning-tree protocol causes a bit of a delay which explains why the network folders don't connect. But it also seems that the GPO
Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon\Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon.
Doesn't wait for a logical signal because if you read the GPO description I would expect it to wait for a network connection to our domain but it seems it only waits for a signal and not a domain signal, if you know what I mean.
Thanks again for your help.

I am connected to a network and have internet access.

However, the network status icon has a red cross on it as if i am not connected. Even more strange is if i hover over the icon its read "Network Internet access"

I don't use any third party connection software and don't have any third party firewalls running.

I am plugged in direct to the router with an ethernet cable.

This isn't a massive problem but i'd prefer the icon not to have the red cross on it.

A:Network status icon has red cross

Hi and welcome toTSF If in fact you are connected but you see the "not connected" icon and
status you describe, you may have two wireless configuration utilities
running simultaneously, and you should disable one of them it may have been installed accidentally

Hey guys.

I'm having a problem seeing a shared printer over my LAN. It's shared on a box running XP Pro. Sharing is turned on, and the printer has been "shared." Still no luck looking for it from the other PCs in the office. Any advice?

Part two: I've been trying to see the printer from a Mac as well, with no success. I can see the PC workgroup, and the computer sharing the printer, but I can't log in to it. I can log in to the other PCs on the network by entering the "computer name" as the username, and the administrator password. This particular machine, however, won't let me do that. Any ideas?

Although you likely have a lot of this working, the basics for troubleshooting are:

1. Make sure you have the same IP scheme (e.g. 192.168.0.x).

2. Make sure you have the same Subnet Mask, Gateway, and DNS IP addresses.

3. Make sure you can ping the other computer's IP address. If this fails, just for testing, make sure you turn off XP's as well as any other firewall.

4. Make sure you can ping the other computers by name.

5. Make sure you have the same workgroup name (watch for trailing spaces)

6. For troubleshooting purposes, turn off XP's and completely uninstall any other firewall software. You can always add more complexity after you get it working.

7. With XP, make sure you have the same username and password as the person logging onto the other computers. The default setting for XP Pro is to require a password for network access.

8. More details about how to network XP can be found at:

9. More details about how to troubleshoot TCP/IP networks can be found at:

10. Apply the registry edit to fix the browsing delay from XP to Win9x computers

There continues to be a lot of misinformation about needing NetBEUI or to changing the NetBIOS setting. You can ignore both. Installing NetBEUI to solve a networking problem will just mask a some underlying and potentially important misc... Read more

This happens after I tried to install a bluetooth software. It failed to work as described so I uninstalled it. Now my network notification icon is always a red cross. But when I hover my mouse over it, it says I have internet access. And of course I do.

Thank you.

A:Network notification is a red cross when I'm connected to wifi

Some progress...

I followed an instruction of sb who had similar problem (not exactly the same), so I uninstalled all my network card (but drivers), I restarted my computer. Now the red cross becomes a "Network available" status (signal bar with a yellow flower) when I have already connected to my wifi, when it should have been white signal bars (connected status).

I dont know if it is some progress or what?

Im about to leap in combining our macos and windows networks but before i jump in and muff things up, is there anything i should know? The macos network has all 9.2 clients and the windows network is just a server back-bone built up of many windows 2000 servers. All the macos clients need to do is connect to the one domain controller, and use the file-server faciliries.

A:Windows 2000 in cross-band network

Excuse our ignorance, but what is a Macos network. Is that a proprietary NOS, UNIX LINUX, DOS? With a little more info, there are many experienced gurus in this site that can be of help.

I have a small multi platform home network that I am trying to expand by the addition of a NAS server. I have an iMac 1TB running OS 10.8, a Windows 7 laptop 500 GB and 2 iPads operating over a wireless network with a Netgear DNG2000v2 router, currently using an Iomega 1TB Media Drive for back up. The new NAS is a LG N2A2 2TB which I have initially set up with RAID 0. My aim was to use the NAS as a central cross platform file server while synchronising files with the iMac as back up, allowing cross platform and remote access to files. I generally use iTunes for Media and Picasa for my Photos.

This is probably a straightforward bread and butter problem for network designers but my Internet research seems to be getting me more confused than illuminated.

Is there a way to backup the computers to the NAS while also allowing cross platform synchronisation, file sharing and remote access.

From what I have discovered Time Machine should be avoided because of its expansion to file the external disk size. Synctoy is not OS X compatible.

As the Windows and Mac file structures are fundamentally different what is the solution to this anomaly. Does the solution require proprietary software.

As I have 1TB of data to transfer I would like to get it right from the outset, I would be grateful for some experienced guidance or direction to a suitable source.

I successfully configured a two-PC Ethernet network linking a Win98 system with a WinXP system via a cross-over cable. Then I somehow configured the Win98 system to access the WinXP's dial-up internet connection. The Win98 shared the WinXP's dial-up connection fine and the network worked great.

Now I have broadband (DSL) on the WinXP which utilizes a Zoom ADSL X4 5651 unit and is attached via USB. The back panel of the 5651 also has an Ethernet port.

So I attempted to configure the Win98 system to access the WinXP's broadband connection and no soap; didn't work. I tried BOTH the existing network setup and then a direct connection linking the Win98 from its Ethernet port to the Ethernet port of the 5651 with the cross-over cable, and neither worked.

The 5651 instructions claim a second computer CAN share the internet connection via Ethernet if the main system uses the USB port. And like I said, the main system (WinXP) does use the 5651's USB port. So I'm thinking that my problem stems from the fact that a cross-over cable is different from a regular Ethernet cable.

So, two questions:
1) do cross-over Ethernet cables differ from "regular" Ethernet cables, and more importantly
2) can I configure broadband sharing via the cross-over network I've created like I had with my dial-up connection?

Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to do that ? I knew it might be possible but I found some saying that if the ADSL modem is connected using LAN then it will not work.

So here's my setup:
PC A and PC B (Both using W7 64)
> PC A got two LAN port (LAN C and D)
> PC B got one LAN port
Cross Over cable
ADSL Modem - Connected to PC A via LAN C

What I want to do is connect the crossover via my PC A's LAN C to PC B's LAN to share the internet connection. Is it possible ? I had managed to make the PC B joined my PC A in homegroup, which mean file sharing has no problem at all. I just doesn't know how to set the IP, DNS, gateway to make my PC B access my PC A internet. Any help ? Please let me know it is possible.

A:Share internet connection via cross over cable ?

Yes it is possible. And since you are using x64 I'm assuming you have a modern PC with a gigabit network card. With gigabit cards you do NOT need a cross-over card, part of the gigabit spec includes auto-sense ethernet ports so any cable should work fine.

What you'll have to do is on PC A go to your network card adapter -> Properties and there should be a Sharing tab. Enable it and then setup your PC B to use DHCP.

Are you certain that you are giving the proper model number of your computer?  Please check the bottom of your computer and the product number should be listed on a white sticker by a bar code.

It just occurred to me that there are many of us that work on one platform on our desktop, but different on our phones or tablets.

Does anyone know of any source for lists of applications that can utilize the same data on each environment? I am thinking that a good cross reference would be good to help us select applications on each environment and if some resource became popular enough, it could lead software vendors to support a variety of data formats in each environment they support, or provide import/export capabilities to support those of us who use multiple platforms.

My personal preference is to use open source or free/inexpensive software, but the need becomes greater when tools in those realms don't exist.

If nobody knows of an existing source, I think I might start something... A listing of programs that can share files for two or more of the following platforms would be a start:

Windows Desktop
Windows Metro (or whatever they are calling it)

In my mind, a program would be included if any of the following applied:

a) Versions exist for multiple platforms
b) Works via web
c) Works directly with files from an app on a different platform
d) Exports files to standard formats for use by others (comma delimited, xml, JSON etc)

My personal ideal would be to have an app in each environment I use that exploits the interface of that environment well, and shares data transparently with an app on one of my other devices. For me, I also want apps that ... Read more

Hi: The only suggestion I can offer would be to try updating the ethernet driver directly from Realtek. You want the 2nd file listed on the webpage. http://www.realtek.com.tw/DOWNLOADS/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTy... If that doesn't resolve the issue, I would agree that the ethernet chip on the motherboard has died.

Respected Sir,

HARDWARE- I have Win 7,Home Premium,64bit,Dell Inspiron 15R N5010.
My network adapters are: Realtek PCIe FE Family controller & DW1501 Wireless-N WLAN Half miniport adapter.
My ADSL modem + WIFI router is Netgear DGN2200v3 latest version of firmware v1.1.00.10_1.001.

PROBLEM- My network connection icon in task bar shows Red cross disconnected or revolving Blue Busy circle network on wired and wireless connection. But my internet connection works perfectly fine. Please suggest solution to enable network notification correctly. I will carry out every possible advise to enable correct network notification. Problem arise when I personally fiddled with router's security option like changing WPA2-PSK[AES] to WPA-PSK[TKIP] + WPA2-PSK[AES] and again back.
Right now is WPA-PSK[TKIP] + WPA2-PSK[AES]. I have connected my laptop to internet via LAN cable.

My Netgear DGN2200v3 provides WEP, WPA-PSK[TKIP], WPA2-PSK[AES], WPA-PSK[TKIP] + WPA2-PSK[AES], WPA/WPA2 Enterprise. Also please tell which type of network security option should I keep to avoid further conflict. So which should I choose?

I also have posted this issue in Microsoft community but didn't got expected reply nor solution, Please check this link about what Microsoft community answered:
Red X or Blue busy circle symbol on system tray connection icon even - Microsoft Community

I request Sevenforums to please clear my doubts and guide me till problem solves.
Thank you.

Today morning when I ran sfc/scannow program again I got following message-
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.logs

But again same problem arised that after typing findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt" I got 0 bytes file on desktop and original CBS.log file was of 4.42 mb .

From my layman point of view their is some thing wrong with my Windows OS and I want to repair it without crashing my system or re-installing Win7. Also I want to tell that recently before getting wifi broadband connection I had deleted my old restore points, disabled hibernation, disable pagefile.sys because on C drive had only 2 gb free space. After deleting them, I ran CCleaner & removed junk files, many unused programs, update my old software with 2013 versions. Then I ran disc check, defragmentation, completing this I installed Netgear genie software to control my newly establish wifi broadband connection. Then I created system restore point, at that time this Red cross or Busy blue circle was not issue. The XPS One 20. An attractive, nicely featured and versatile all-in-one desktop PC now around 8 years old. And it looked like it might be a good choice for setting up my mother with her very first PC now that we've finally found a reasonable means for providing internet access to our very remote farm property. Thinking ahead to the many times I would need to both walk her through issues by phone, as well as utilize remote connection tools to directly access/maintain/resolve issues, when I stumbled onto a 2nd top notch XPS One 20 a couple days after buying hers, I grabbed it as well with the plan of "synch-ing" the pair to be identical twins to further simplify "support" by having one at my desk, too. As purchased, there was two primary differences between them, which were going to be resolved first thing: #1 had been subjected to the flawed and fairly well documented 2.05 bios update which caused machines to start reporting fan failures while actually causing fans to run at top speed with no temp/system governed control, and been loaded with the Win 10 64bit OS, while Win 7 Pro 64bit (the OS I intended for both to be using) was installed on #2. From what I'd read, the bios fix was just a matter of flashing with the 2.06 release created in large part specifically to address and mend the fan fluke left by 2.05. However in practice, it's looking like there's more to it than that, and at minimum I don't think the 2.06 flash is actually inst... Read more

Initially the network icon and sharing center were correctly indicating network connection status.  After the third windows update session in 4 days it now is constantly stating that I do not have network or internet access.  This is not the case as IE and Firefox, Outlook 07 and Thunderbird all can get online without issues.  Also network commands (ping, tracert, ipconfig) work from the command line and show positive connections and even IP addresses. If anyone has suggestions on what is wrong or better yet can help me solve this please say so.CB

A:Network and Sharing Center falsely reports no network or internet access

No I do not have two network cards - only the on board LAN connector.  This network device works fine without issues in Device Manager (no bangs or red stop icons) and shows that the correct 'signed' driver is present.Right now I have re-installed the card from device manager (right click on network card listed, choose uninstall) then re-scan for new hardware and it is up and running again.  Same driver (latest) installed and the Network Places icon is showing correct information as well as the sharing center.  As soon as the computer enters standby, sleep or hibernate or I have to restart (warm or cold boot) this will change back to 'No Internet Access' in both the icon on the taskbar and in network sharing center.Again this appears to be an issue with Rhine PHY and Windows 7.
Hi CBThis may be associated with a known bug in Windows 7 with the Sleep/Hibernate components.
The bug appears when a hardware/software component fails to re-initialize when the system resumes from Sleep or Hibernation or will not enter the suspend state.
These bugs have only been seen on specific systems that have combinations of certain hardware/software installed. The only way we have to deal with these issues in the RC build is to try and avoid using the Sleep/Hibernate functions as much as possible. If you experience this bug and still need to use the Sleep or Hibernate functions be aware that you could possibly lose any unsaved information in applications. The latest information we have is ... Ok, I have 5 computers on a home network, 4 Windows XP and one Redhat Linux Fedora Core 4. About a month ago, one of the windows boxes suddenly went from about 550Kb/s download to 100Kb/s download from various newsgroups. Also, when trying to pull AND push files to that same box, it is a very slow file transfer.

I didn't load any new software in that time and I waited so long because at the time, the newsgroup server that I am using reported problems associated with Hurricane Rita. This of course doesn't explain the network speed.

I've run speed tests on all the other computers, and they all report download speeds of about 550Kb/s and upload speeds of about 45Kb/s except the one, and it has download speeds of about 100Kb/s and upload speeds the same, about 45Kb/s.

After I noticed the speed reduction, I loaded a firewall, ** Protowall ** and I downloaded the latest beta of Microsoft Anti-Spyware and ran it. Also, I have Norton with the latest updates and it reports no problems.

Please, let me know if you need more info or if someone had any general tips to try. I am about at the end of my rope and reformatting looks like the only other option to me.

Mike in Ohio

Edit: Forgot to say, I went to 3 differnt speed testing web sites, and they all report the download speed the same on that one box, about 100Kb/s and the others are around 500Kb/s

A:1 computer on a network suddenly now has slow file transfer on internet and network

Are all the computers wired similarly? All run to the same router/switch?

You should check the cable of the problematic machine, try using ping to the router with 1400 byte packets. Also, boot up some CD Linux or equivalent and see what speeds you get from there - helps to rule out any problems with the operating system.

Have you tried any other browsers? SeaMonkey is a good one to try if you don't have another. You can still keep IE as default and have SeaMonkey for backup for web pages that may not display correctly in IE or when you have access problems like you are having now. Being Mozilla-based, it uses a different rendering engine. For those web sites that support pipelining, you may also find that it is considerably faster.

Check your connection settings under Internet Options. In the LAN section, try toggling the "Automatically Detect Settings" option.

I then went to to Network COnnections folder, There are 3 icons, one says Incomming, the other 2 in the LAN or HighSpeed Internet section says 1394 Connection, and Wireless Network Connection Enabled. On the far left column, i clicked on Create a New Connection. I clicked the option of " Connect to the internet" , then "Setup my Connection Manually.". Then " Connect Using a broadband connection that is always on." .. because I dont need a login name and password. After clicking NEXT and Finished, ..nothing happened.. i clicked on IE again, and same thing pops up. I tried doing the 2nd option to let u enter the ID and password BUT disable the prompt to log in with a username and pw.. still dont work.
What gives? How do i fix this problem? Any help is appreciated. thnx.

I have to plan this project, would need some help how to do it!

The organisation would like all their users to have access to the internet. The business has requested that you configure an internet gateway for their users in the office.

The meeting identifies it needs to incorporate the following requirements:

1. Internet service via a reputable service provider
2. Ensure minimal disruption to current LAN services when implementing
3. Enable required security measure

Part 1. Assess the client's hardware requirements with consideration to their requirements for an internet gateway.

Part 2. contact vendors and obtain technical specifications in obtaining any hardware, software and configuration the existing LAN with internet access

Part 3. In the form of a presentation provide a recommendation to the management of the business for configuration of internet access that includes a plan for implementation. The presentation also should incorporate the specific of hardware, software and ISP that will be required to detailing any costs that may be involved.

I am connected to the internet, but there is a red x on my network icon (yet when you hover over it, it says internet access.) I tried to go into the network and sharing > change adapter settings, yet the Network connections folder is COMPLETELY blank.

I tried reinstalling the driver. Initially, I get a message that says "the parameter is incorrect" Although, I tried to do it a second time, it said that the driver is up to date.

I dunno what else to do. I'd like to have access to my LAN connection. I'm running Win 7 Ultimate x64.

Well, after 3 hours of trying to find a solution, I immediately found it after creating this thread. Sorry!!!

Anyway, the solution was to open the registry editor, go to: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network" and delete the “Config” value. I restarted my computer, and all was well.

Still wondering: why did this happen in the first place?

I am currently living in a college dorm and my only source of internet is their registration-protected wifi. The problem is that I cannot install my printer on their wi-fi network and share information between all of my devices.

So, what I would like to be able to do is connect my mac desktop to their wi-fi (I've got that done), and then share the mac desktop's internet connection with my Airport Express router via ethernet. The Airport Express would then broadcast the internet connection to my other devices. I understand how to activate internet sharing on my mac, but I really need help configuring the ethernet port's IP, the Airport Express' settings, DHCP and DNS stuff, etc.

Thank you so much in advance!

I have an xp 2400 using xp with a D-link DGL 4300 wireless router connecting wirelessly to a Thinkpad T42 (2 floors above). The signal strength reads good or very good, internet is great, but My Network Places wont generally let me in to the folders. When it does, I can't stream media files for longer than 20secs and file transfers fail, causing a not-responding situation.

all firewalls are off

I've just about given up on this but maybe someone can help.

I have Windows 7, my wife's computer has Windows Vista

There are also other computers on the network in the backroom using 7 and XP I believe but they are not involved in this problem directly.

My wife uses the Linksys version 2 USB Wireless Adapter. My HP is a wireless adapter that is built in and I can't check from here but I believe the problem is being caused by her computer(or some kind of incompatibility between hers and the router which is a Linksys wrt54g)

Anyways, the problem occurs when trying to transfer files between the two computers(normally mine to hers). It's fairly slow at only 1 meg per minute as displayed by the dialog box and it crashes the internet completely. As soon as we transfer anything it seems to just kill the network. We can both download and surf from the internet but computer to computer it just seems to die. Now I believe I've transfered to other computers(when my mom was visiting with her laptop) without issue but with my wife's vista computer, it just dies.

Any clues as to why this might happen

I have done an awful thing, I am a user, and not really technical. I have a new PC that has XP home as the OS. I tried installing my old hardware, and discovered that there are no XP drivers for it-stupid scanner!- so I uninstalled it. First, I tried to just unplug the scanner, but that didn't work, so then I tried to unistall the software from Add/Remove programs, that didn't work, so then I used Norton uninstall utilities. Well that was a big mistake, I can no longer access the internet, somehow when I unistalled the Umax/Vsita scan/page manager etc, it screwed up my network settings.
The irony is not all of the software deinstalled. Finally, a freind walked me through the deinstallation, so the stupid scanner is gone, and he advised to uninstal Norton utilities too. So I did, now all I have is the firewall.
I still have a problem, I tried to use the Network wizard, but I get lost when it opens my C: drive. What do I do next? I tried to do a recover, but it says that it can't safely recover and to shut down and restart.

I really, really love my DSL connection and want to be able to access the internet from home again.

Please take pity on a stupid user and in very simple language help me.

Hello, I am new to this forum. I need some help configuring a network for a future hotspot plan. Pardon my verbose, as my exact situation needs a lot of description and some explanation.

I plan to get a Samsung SCH-LC11 via USCellular for Internet service, for both my daily on-site use of my computer, and at home for gaming, etc. Presently we have Wildblue (ViaSat) satellite Internet, connected to a D-Link DGL-4100 Gigabit Ethernet LAN modem. Unfortunately, satellite Internet has a lot of "lag" (ping time near 1000ms) so it can not be used for (multiplayer) gaming, and there is always a second or more delay when we click on stuff in web browsers. Some particular web sites take an excruciating amount of time to load a page, especially https, and all those sites that require access to multiple sites in order to load; and it is getting worse as the pages get more complicated. Whats more, when I upload things to my company website (that I administrate myself), it is also excruciatingly slow, as our upload speed is much less than download. We have a plan that allows for 17GB/mo. download and we currently are at 15 used. Big files download pretty fast, getting almost 200KB/sec; but uploads are <20KB/sec.

The US Cellular hotspot offers 2, 5, and 10GB/mo. download limits, and 5 is the max. affordable for me (overages are nearly the same price/GB anyway). It uses the Samsung SCH-LC11 unit. I have 2 network printers, a Tivo, 2 continuously wired computers, one Asus Zenbo... Read more

I am connected wirelessly with internet access according to my computer, but my internet sporadically stops working. Usually happens every 5 minutes or so. However, my Skype always works, even when my browsers and games don't. This has only happened within the last 3 days. Before that, my internet worked perfectly. Please help!

I am assuming something extra is running in the background when you have a browser open, or you play games (I am sure on line games use browsers to operate) have you checked for tool bars? or small programs that where not there before?

Hello, My computer is Lenovo ThinkPad X250, working with Windows 10. I have a problem since a few days: the computer seems to work fine, except that no program needing to access internet, such as Windows Live Mail, Skype or Internet Explorer can launch. It is not as if they launch and can?t connect to internet, they simply show their loading screen forever upon activation. The only way I?ve found to interact with them is to close them via the Task Manager. Other programs such as Powepoint or Illustrator launch and run without problem. This problem started recently, and may or may not have been cause by another issue that I had a few days prior. I will sum it up here for clarity?s sake:-The first problem that I had was a sudden eternal starting loop with blue screen from Windows itself upon starting the computer.-I rebooted in safe mode, restored the system to a previous version, and the computer worked fine for about a week.-Then I had the same problem again, except this time restore system didn?t work. On the blue screen I noticed that the error was caused by ?SPUVCbv.exe?, which after an internet search proved to be related to the integrated camera driver.-I launched the computer in safe mode, uninstalled the camera driver, and the problem of Windows rebooting endlessly stopped. However since then, I have the problem, for which I now require assistance, of the internet-related programs failure to launch. Up to now, I verified/tried ... Okay I just got a new laptop, running Windows vista, Business Downgrade sp2. for college about a week ago. It was working fine. It came with Dell Connect program that organized connections and worked along side windows connections.

After about a day, I was surfing the internet and I realized that Firefox and IE would just stop connecting to any website at all and would end up timing out. So then I decided to delete Dell Connect via Add/Remove Prog. and it seemed to work for the time being. everything was peachy through Windows Connections.

Then it happened again. I looked into my windows connections and realized that although I was connected to my network but the Internet Connections symbol was gone and there was no Internet Gateway area. I found that disabling and re-enabling the network connection worked but I'm still trying to find a way or a reason why the internet decides to leave.

Hi !

First of all thank you every helper and tutorial maker for the awesome work that helped me to find solutions !

I'm on Windows 10 x64 and my network device is a Intel GbE LAN chip (10/100/1000 Mbit).

My issue is :
I have a yellow triangle over the network icon in the notification area and it says me "Network : No Internet" even if i can access to internet and my network works perfectly.

That's not very serious issue but that's disturbing to know if i'm connected or not (real disconnections can happen).
After trying to reboot my rooter and uninstalling/reinstalling Intel's newest drivers i don't know what to do.

If anyone has an idea because Windows fixes and solutions wasn't useful for me.

A:Yellow triangle over internet network even if internet works

Well you rebooted your router, but you also need to reboot your modem too. Or unplug both, wait a min, then plug modem in 1st, then router. may also have to reboot your computer.

Instead of showing images, both in web pages and in emails sent to me, I often see a wee red cross in the top left corner. Can anyone suggest a remedy?

A:Wee red cross......

The red cross for images in emails...is very common, occurring often when emails are forwarded to users. The problem is that the links/references to the graphics on one system...cannot be forwarded, so the result is a red x in place of the graphic. The links to the graphics have become broken and the result is the red X.Typical way to overcome this...don't try to forward content with graphics. Graphics can be actually inserted into body of email or a link to an actual webpage can be sent.http://www.worldstart.com/tips/tips.php/543Worth reading, IMO: http://www.pcdon.com/deRedXInsteadOfPicture.htmlLouis
