When i close the lid or turn off the laptop the first time, it is fine, and goes to sleep and i can wake it up again. But the second time i do it, the power light stays on and doesn't blink like it shoud, and when i try to awake it, it doesn't wake up, but i still cannot hear the hard drive, the screen doesn't turn on. I have tried turning on or off Hybrid sleep, resetting the laptop, closing the lid slower, closing the lid faster, every time, it just freezes and i have to hard reset it. The laptop is only 1 day old, and has an almost fresh install of Windows 7, with Minecraft, Firefox, Speedfan and Ultradefrag installed. I tried searching online, but i found apsolutely nothing. And sorry for my bad English in some areas, english is not my main languageRead other answers
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Im new here. So yesterday instead shutting down my laptop what I did is sleep mode it. When I got home I tried turning on it but it didn't so I plugged my charger but my laptop didn't light up (showing that the charger is plugged in the laptop). Please help?
Thanks in advance
this is happening to me too.
Currently I disable bluetooth device, then renable it and it works till next time computer sleeps.
Last update did something to bluetooth.
Every time I closed my laptop and went to the sleep mode, I cannot wake the laptop up no matter which button I pressed. The screen would first vaguely twinkling for several times from a little bright black color to the entire black color, but not easy to obseve, and the laptop screen just never would go to the start page. Thank you for a solution!

Greetings All, My Lenovo Ideapad 100 15IBY running on windows 8 OS won't wake up from sleep mode as it automatically boots into sleep mode when powered on and the screen remains blank. I have tried reseating the ram, power on with ac adapter and also holding on the power button for a while but still no sign of waking up. The screen is perfectly Ok. The only problem is that the heat sinks gets hot than normal. Please kindly provide any fix or solution to this. ThanksRead other answers
Greetings! I recently bought a new laptop, Lenovo IdeaPad Y700 15-ISK, with Windows 10 Home preloaded. I found a minor problem that happens frequently. After the laptop is idled for a period of time, 5 or 10 mins depending on plugged in or not as you know, the laptop first turns off display, then goes into sleep mode after another 5 or 10 mins. The problem is, after I come back and try to turn it back on, the screen stays black. However, I can see that the laptop is indeed responding by pressing NumLock, CapLock, or in my case, Fn-Space to turn on/off the backlight of keyboard. I checked and I have the latest windows updates and latest drivers for everything. So, any brilliant idea on this issue? Thanks in advanced.

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Y700-No-power-no-display/td-p/2228277 Does it goes to normal after reset? If yes turn off hibernate mode as soon as possible!!! you will find a way to do it in the thread above. If it doesn't go back to normal and you are stuck with a brick then the only solution is to send it for a warranty repair. There is a bug in the bios which causes that.Read other 2 answers
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p and it has erratic BSOD behavior, usually after sleep mode, but not always. Would love to get to the bottom of it and appreciate any help you can provide!
I've attached the necessary file as per the BSOD posting instructions.
Only 48 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 60 to 80 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).
Don't worry about the specific number, it's just important that you have checked and installed any updates that were available.
The memory dumps blame usbccgp.sys, but MSINFO32 lists ks.sys (kernel streaming of video driver)
And this seems to happen during a power down event (such as power off/hibernate/sleep/etc)
Finally, what applications do you delay using Startup Delayer?
What USB devices do you have connected?
I'm concerned about your version of Diskkeeper as it dates from Jan 2013 - well before Win8.1 was released.
Can you update it? If not, please uninstall it while we're troubleshooting.
Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Hello all, I am recently having some inconsistent display issues with my Lenovo U410 laptop i7 1TB with a Windows 8 PRO upgrade (came with windows 7). When I press the Power Button on my laptop to put it to sleep, the Screen turns black as if it is off, but the Power & Battery LEDs on the front of the laptop remain on, as well as the LED on the power button. However, when I try to wake my laptop, there is no response on the screen (remaining black as if it is off). The internal fan is running, however I receive no feedback when "blindly" trying to input my password. I've tried to turn the power off and back on to no avail. I've also removed the power source and held the power button for a couple of seconds and that did not solve the issue either. I've tried connecting the laptop to a screen via HDMI (since there is no other AV port on the device), but there was no signal being sent through. This is an inconsistent issue that began yesterday 6/11/2013. When the laptop is left alone for a little and is turned on again, the display works, but after closing the lid (sleep) or pressing the button, the display fails to turn on upon awakening. In most recent circumstances, Today (6/12/2013) I was installing a Windows update that required my computer to restart. When the update configured perfectly BEFORE it was restarting, but AFTER the restart, my internal fan began to work, but the display was not on. Does... Read more

Hello, i received a Lenovo Ideapad 305 computer on 9th of March 2017. Immediately after that day, computer showed signs of weird behaviour. It shut down instead of going to Sleep Mode when attempting to use that command. I swear i checked out the battery settings and it seems that computer shuts down even when manually choosing sleep mode. Last night i also came across a problem when computer restarted instead of shutting down. I tried installing all the possible updates, but it didn't fix the issue. At the very beginning Sleep Mode actually worked fine but something must have corrupted it. Power Troubleshooting didn't provide any results. The big programs i have installed are Comodo Antivirus, Sony Vegas and Adobe Photoshop. I have removed some of Lenovo's own installed minor software because i found them useless. There are still some updates that Windows wants to install but i'm being skeptical if they will fix the issue. Didn't realize the laptop was unplugged and went completely dead sitting there for a month. Went to plug in to power up and nothing. Thought maybe cat chewed on charger cable and tested it and was only pulling 4v vs the 20v it's supposed to but tried new charger that Lenovo sent and still nothing. I've heard battery could be un-chargeable if left to completely die and sit for a while but still don't get why laptop won't boot up when plugged in. Am I dealing with something else internal in addition to a dead battery?Read other answers
So everything has been working fine on my laptop until about 10:30PM EST tonight. I bought it new in August 2011.
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
CPU: Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
HD: 750 GB
It's always been a fine machine with NO problems.
However, last night there were Windows 7 updates that were installed and then restarted my computer. I had not gotten a chance to check exactly what they were though. About 10:30 this evening, flash crashed in Mozilla Firefox which is not that uncommon, and from there Firefox closed, and so did my Microsoft Word and Excel apps that were open. From there, my computer began to shut down and restart. When it went to restart, all it could do was go to the opening Lenovo screen which gives you the F2 (setup option) and F12 (multiboot menu option) as it typically does. Besides a thin strip at the top that appeared after about 30 secs that only displays moving static that eventually will just stick, that is where the boot process ends. No Windows 7 screen, and certainly no opportunity to boot into safe mode to check for any problems. The screen freezes and goes nowhere.
So basically, all I'm getting in terms of boot options are lenovo features, not windows 7 features, meaning it won't boot into windows 7 or windows 7 safe mode no matter what I try. The biggest problem here is that I have no windows 7 disc to even try to boot from my dvd drive.
Anybody have any suggestions on what the probl... Read more
Are you able to get into the advanced boot menu by tapping F8? It might not be listed on the startup screen but it should still be there.
If not you can burn a repair disc from any PC with Windows 7. Theres steps from Microsoft Here.

I decided to invest in a new laptop as my other one had fallen on the ground, and lately for the past two month's all I've been having with it was troubles. Ther first problem I had was with the external microphone I used (Blue Yeti) It wouldn't detect or something and eventually made my speakers and microphone stop working all together. With no clue on how to fix it I ended up factory resetting my product. Everything's been fine with this problem, but if you have a fix to it if it arrises again then that'd be helpful.
Just yesterday I had a problem with my laptop where I was using it and the screen suddenly went black, I restarted it and the LENOVO loading screen came up only to have it stuck on the screen with a loading symbol and my curser. I contacted a live agent who told me to factory reset my laptop which brings me onto what happens when I do that below;
I have also had a problem where It would update from windows 8.1 to windows 10 & "Windows Explorer" would continue to crash and refresh every second thus making the laptop un-useable in this state unless I open a program through "Task Manager". Due to this problem I had to factory reset my laptop about five times as I cannot resolve it and it continues to arrise if I set a background to my laptop - I have tried everything, from updating drivers to much more and have yet to find a fix t... I've had this lenovo ideapad 510 for 2 months and it has been nothing but trouble. I've done too many fixes for it for just 2 months but now the fan noise is really unaccceptable. With just 3 tabs open it sounds like a jet taking off and I cannot use it while watching a movie on TV because it's too loud. I have been here on this forum for over a week trying to get a solution but am getting totally ignored. I guess Lenovo's customer service is as good as their products. Please post a fix that works, otherwise let's arrange for me to return this for 50% refund so I can get a laptop that actaully works. I've read the problem is that Lenovo is not compatible with Windows 10 and that is why it's a nigthmare. Why did you release this product with these confirmed problems?1. Touchpad sometimes goes crazy and can't be used2. Unnacceptable fan noise3. Memory and Disk running at 100%I feel cheated as I'm doing more technical work to rid this laptop of problems than actaully being able to browse the net or watch anything. As mentioned with only 3 tabs open, it sounds like a jet trying to take off. Bought this at the end of OctoberRead other answers
