BSOD, whea uncorrectable error while play League of Legends

Q: BSOD, whea uncorrectable error while play League of Legends

Hello everyone,

I get the whea uncorrectable error whenever I am playing LoL. I thought it was the video card problem at first, I returned it, got a new card(the same). The 1st 2 nights it was okay, then the 3rd night it BSOD twice during a game. I build this computer with a friend. Not sure if I scratched anything while putting it together.

Any help with be much appreciated,
Thank you all!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey, sometimes at least 1-2 per day it just crashes my pc while I play this game.

I went through ~6 dumps and they were all WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR (124). This is strictly a hardware bugcheck.

All of your dumps display the same error:

I would really love an explanation of the bugreport of 21 october 2014.
There are 5 older reports in the zip, which can be disregarded.

Some explanation on the how/why/when this happens,
I did have an overclock on my pc, it went unstable, i removed the overclock, and now it gets unstable on stock settings....
I have found the probable cause of this, being the VRM's on my motherboard (they get extremely hot).
I found this out, because occt linpack (the stressoftware made my pc reboot in 1-2 minutes) is very VRM heavy.
After putting a casefan on my VRM's it took about 18 minutes to BSOD (not reboot).

I tried to figure it out in the windows debugger, but my knowledge only gets me so far.....

If i forgot anything please do ask!

Thanks in advance for the time and effort taken

The latest memory dump is a STOP 0x124. These are errors that are collected by the CPU and reported to Windows.
As such, the WinDbg results aren't easily understood, and they rarely point to an exact cause.
Then, if you're only dealing with one of them, there's really no significant chance of getting useful info out of it.

Here's the one from your latest memory dump:

Okay so I just got this PC in yesterday and I'm already having issues. At first it was giving me the BSOD for my wireless receiver which apparently just didn't have drivers for 8 yet. But now if I go to watch videos or try to play a game the video gets choppy then BSOD, then half the time it will blue screen again right after restarting. Some times it will give me a WHEA_uncorrectable_error and sometimes it will restart before any error is displayed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well, I think your Atheros wireless card is still giving you issues - looks like this one is likely caused by the driver for it as well:

Been having some issues recently with a recurring BSOD, and would love to get it sorted out. Happens frequently when browsing and using VLC, though that is probably due to probability (that's what I spend most of my time on the PC doing).

A:Windows 8 BSOD (WHEA Uncorrectable Error)

Your BIOS dates from 2011. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

We've seen a number of BSOD issues with SSD's. Here's the information that I've compiled so far:

There's not a whole bunch available to test SSD's. The "easiest" test is to remove the SSD, install a platter-based hard drive, install Windows and test for stability that way.

Here's some suggestions:
- Update the SSD's firmware to the latest available version (VERY IMPORTANT!!!)
- Update the motherboard controllers drivers to the latest available version from the controller manufacturer (NOT the mobo manufacturer unless you can't find any on the controller manufacturer's website)
- Slow the memory (RAM) down to the next slower speed (I've only seen one person who claimed that this worked for them).
- Use any manufacturer's utilities that you may have. If you don't have any, then try this free one (I haven't used it myself): Crystal Dew World
- Update chipset and storage controller drivers to the latest available from the manufacturer of the device (not the manufacturer of the motherboard). Be sure to update ALL controllers on the motherboard!

You have a Realtek RTL8192CU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter:

I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win8/8.1 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 and later - using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win8/8.1 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

Do you have a way to connect to the internet without the USB device? This may be necessary to test and see if the USB device is to blame (by temporarily removing it).

Please uninstall Gigabyte EasyTune6 (and EasySaver if it's also installed). These are known to cause BSOD's in some Windows systems.

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.

Its inconsistent when it happens, the only thing I got so far is that when it comes to using xplit, I had a much greater amount of crashes, maybe its related to the wifi?

Hello everybody,

This is my first time on this forum. I have made this account because I am dealing with an BSOD for a while now and I cannot seem to solve it so I am really hoping someone could help me with this.

I am getting the BSOD WHEA UNCORRECTABLE error message. It is really random for instance I could play GTA V all night without a problem and then when I start something else up a couple minutes later it just crashes. It even crashes sometimes when I am just on Youtube and Word.

With BlueScreenView I saw that two things could have caused this BSOD, it says it has been caused by hal.dll+3627f and ntoskrnl.exe+14a510 and that has not changed since the first time it has happenend. It's bugcheckcode is 0x0000124.

I have looked into this on the internet and they are saying that you have to update drivers and check temperatures but my drivers and my temperatures do not get above 65 degrees. Benchmarks to test my hardware also did not help. I also have done chkdsk in Command Prompt to see if that would work but I am still getting the BSODS.

I put all the files necessary in the attachments and I hope that it is enough information.

With kind regards,

I have had my T440s for about a month and have had zero issues with it. Last night I tried using VirtualBox and found that the virtual machine was BSODing. VirtualBox eventually froze and I had to kill it with task manager, after this the virtualMachine worked but shortly after my laptop locked up with 'WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR'. Googling would suggest a hardware error but it the hope that it is not I was wondering if it would be an issue the virtualbox software that caused the issue? Baz.

I have exactly the same problem. But additionally, I can't even start my T470 now.It is directly going to whea blue screen. Even when I try to boot from a Windows recovery DVD.Does anybody know a solution?

I have a PC I'm servicing that keeps going BSOD at random times.
USing WHOCRASHED, I get the generic 0x124, Hal.dll, WHEA Uncorrectable Error Response.

I managed to get a hold of the Microsoft DART software that has a crash analyzer. It points to mcupdate_authenticamd.dll

This PC is the same exact build as 20 Others at this company. This is the only one behaving this way.

We have updated the BIOS, removed/reinstalled AMD drivers, Chipset, VGA. Yet it continues.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Just bought an Inspiron I3650-1551SLV from Best Buy last week. I keep getting BSOD every day around the same hour.
The last time the BSOD had code WHE UNCORRECTABLE ERROR. Not sure about the other times as I just set it to not restart on BSOD.
The event log has an !ERROR! around the at the time of the BSOD Bugcheck 124. Same error time looking bat at the event logs.
I installed all the Windows updates on first boot, so I have no idea if an update is causing a problem.
I went into the device manager it didn't show any errors. A went down the list and one by one check for new drivers. It found and installed a few new drivers, about 5-8 I lost count. The Dell Support Assistant app that came installed always thinks the same 2 drivers are out of date even though I told it to install them multiple times (Chipset & Network). Support Assistant also found a Bios update but that installed fine.
I ran checkdisk C: without any /flags and it did not find any errors.
I tried to open C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP with notepad put it seems to be binary data.
If I cant fix this I will take it back to Best Buy while I can. Well I bought 2 identical machines, but only the one I use is getting BSOD, well I haven't gotten any complaints about the other machine and I don't see any bugcheck 124 errors on the event manager. Might end up taking both of them back, I don't know.

Help please! I'm not an expert with computer software, but I am comfortable enough to try almost anything.

I've been having this problem which started out with my computer completely stalling/hanging for a while, then continuing with a single toned beep for the past couple of months. I figured since it only happened once in awhile when chrome was loading a new page, it was no big deal.

Then recently in the past week, my computer screen went back and gave a message that said "AMD display driver has stopped working and has successfully recovered". I completely uninstalled all AMD drivers with a reboot and reinstalled only the essential ones.

Now just today, my computer blue screened twice within 12 hours. I couldn't grab the error message of the first one as that was my first blue screen in 10 years, but the second one clearly said 0x0000003b (not too sure how many zeroes there were).

I have tried some other forums but they only responded with some outdated drivers, but there was no solid answer that I was comfortable with other than GPU/PSU/Mobo physical defects.

So I've been having BSOD's for a while now and someone recommended this forum for some assistance.

They usually happen when I play League of Legends, but it will sometimes occur out of the blue (no pun intended). The errors are not always the same, but I frequently see ntoskrnl.exe & dxgmms1.sys.

I bought the APU, MOBO & RAM second hand for a good price. I'm starting to see why that person was trying to get rid of it. I use to have 3-4 a day, I changed my fan to Always On and now they are less frequent but still very annoying.

I ordered a new processor & motherboard, but I'd like to fix these so I can sell them to pay for a new GPU.

Thanks for the help, .zip is attached as mentioned.

Counterfeit installations such as yours contains heavily modified code that causes the installation to behave it unexpected ways. Analysing BSOD's and determining their causes on these sorts of installations is very unreliable.

My recommendation is to start with a clean slate, and install a genuine version of Windows. This will minimise the problems you are experiencing, and make subsequent diagnosis of BSOD's far more reliable. Once you are running a genuine Windows installation, and are still experiencing BSOD's, we will be happy to help you solve them

Hello and welcome to Sevenforums!

The problem is caused by your graphics driver. Run Display Driver Uninstaller(DDU)
When you are done running DDU install your graphics driver again and you should be good to go! This is the guide for DDU: Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling

Also if you can get your computer BSOD-free we can maybe play together sometime.

A stop 0x124 is a hardware error, but which prt of the hardware is failing is difficult to determine other than some tests and trial and error.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Stress test the CPU.
Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95

Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy.

Check if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) supplying adequate power to the computer or not.
eXtreme Power Supply Calculator
At least 30% extra is safe.

Are you overclocking? As you are getting BSODs, you should stop overclocking and run all the hardware components like CPU, GPU and RAM to their default settings. Also set the BIOS to default, too.
How To Clear CMOS (Reset BIOS)

If possible, plan to update the BIOS.

BiosVersion = F11
BiosReleaseDate = 05/17/2010
Get the version F12f, dated 2012/07/27.

I will also suggest to dismantle the computer and clean the inside carefully. Clean specially the air vents and fan grills. While Re-seating, apply thermal paste to the CPU.
Let us know when all are done.

Hi I am experienceing BSOD's everytime I enter a match in League of Legends. The game runs for a bit and then it becomes unresponsive and crashes. Due to the new hard drive I reinstalled everything 5 days ago.

Also I thought it might be important to mention when I first built the computer and installed everything (last December) I was experiencing the same BSOD problems. I thought it was a audio driver failure because I heard strange noises sometimes before it would blue screen. It used to only crash for League of Legends and Skyrim, but other games worked. I began to use a wireless headset and the Blue Screens stopped. Now I do not know if the problem has to do with audio, or what and I hope I can get help. Thanks!

Hello Blasian, welcome to the forums. You have 3 dump files and each one is an 0X124 error, which means you have had a hardware error or you have a bad driver that is causing a component of your computer to act as though it is failing.

If you are overclocking anything, set everything back to defaults. What GPU temp monitoring program are you using? Do you have this problem with any other game you play. LOL is a problem for many people and there are numerous reports. Please let me know the answer to those questions.

I heard my house's wall plugs have bad earthing with some leakage, I wonder if that could be a damaging factor to my computer's hardware.

Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.

Hello there, I recently re-installed my computer due to getting bluescreens really often. This didn't exactly solve to problem though, I still get bluescreens but not as often. Everytime I got a bluescreen (since the re-install) I looked in the Event Viewer, at first the errors were related to WMI. I got this fixed by looking around on the internet though. Anyhow as the title says I get the error 0x000000d1 (BugCheck). And it seems like this would be the cause of the bluescreens that I get.
I have gotten these bluescreens when not playing League of Legends too but it almost only happens when I play that.

If the attachment files are in Swedish - Sorry and if I need to correct that somehow then just tell me how to and I will.

Any help would be appreciated - Razew.
PS. I'm terribly sorry for my English, just can't be bothered with writing as good as possible right now.

So - I just occured another bluescreen with another code, the code this time was 0x0000000a, once again with the source BugCheck.
Note that this didn't happen while playing or even having a game up. If it for some reason would be important to know: I was watching videos on youtube when this happend.

This is what the Event Viewer said -

Help would be really appreciated, feeling quite desperate here. The bluescreens are sadly ruining a lot for me and the friends that I'm playing with.

Hello, I seem to get the black screen constantly when trying to play the game: League of Legends. Things I've tried are drive sweeper and reinstalling the drivers, memtest86, changing the in game settings (graphics) to low whereever possible. I've been checking my gpu temperatures also, but they are around the 50's and dont go above 60. So i suspect the GPU isnt overheating. In my event viewer there are the errors:

Update f-secure.

You appear to have memory issues; run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial.

Do you have any mismatched memory (memory bought at different times/from different manufacturers/at different frequencies)?

If memory passes, run Driver verifier:
1. Backup your system and user files
2. Create a system restore point
3. If you do not have a Windows 7 DVD, Create a system repair disc
4. Run Driver Verifier

If Windows cannot start in normal mode with driver verifier running, start in safe mode. If it cannot start in safe mode or normal mode, restore the system restore point using System Restore OPTION TWO.

Thanks to zigzag3143 for contributing to the above steps.

Hi, and thanks in advance for any help.

While playing League of Legends, after some little time of the game, my computer crashes with the BSOD thread_stuck_in_device_driver.

I have a "Samsung Chronos NP700ZAH", with "AMD Radeon 6600m and 6700m series" and a "Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000".
I recently updated my windows from 7 to 8.1.
I'm using Leshcat (3rd party driver) for the graphical drivers. (But this BSOD also happened with the OEM drivers).
After a lot of search, I found that the problem is problably in the graphic card or driver.
But how can I find and solve it?

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

I was just playing a game of League when suddenly I noticed that all sound was gone except the music. At first I didnt really think much of it, however a few minutes later my game suddenly froze but I was still able to move my mouse around. shortly after that the BSOD appeared. When I tried to restart my pc I got this message: "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key" so I restarted my pc and again this message appeared. Then I turned of my pc and waited for about 10 minutes when starting my pc again I just booted like normal and no weird messages.

I looked if the pc made a dumbfile, but sadly enough it didn't I could only find one from about a year ago.

I searched on the internet to see if I could find a solution, but so far I didn't find anything which helped me.
I have pasted a picture of the BSOD and a Zip file containing some information about my PC.

looking forward to your repsonses and thanks for the efford.

A:BSOD playing League of Legends, error 0x0000007A

There is only one crash dump in the uploaded zip, which is of 26/05/2014. So it will not reflect the present situation.

Anyway, from the screenshot it is a stop 0x7A BSOD. Generally stop 0x7A issues are storage related; and the screen shows the failing driver is NTFS.sys, which is related to the storage discs.

Test your HDD using Seatools. Take both teh short test and the long test. Let us know the results.

So I've gotten the BSOD twice while I have been playing League of Legends (LoL) and surfing the web, mostly while on YouTube. The first BSOD occurred about a week and a half or so ago and the second BSOD occurred just a couple days ago.

I took a picture of the actual message displayed when the BSOD occurred. I have uploaded that and the .zip file as well.

Another thing I have noticed that seems irregular, which I'm not sure it has to do with this, is that recently when I'm quickly shifting from tabs or opening up new tabs to surf the web or anything like that, it lags for a second like as if it was "not responding" but then it goes back to normal as if it was just a laggy hiccup.

It was a custom built computer and here are the computer specs:

Windows 7 OS 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570k
Motherboard: Asus PBZ77-V
BIOS: American Megatrends
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti

Please help as I do not want this to escalate further. I apologize for the massive glare of the picture I uploaded, I did not think of it at the time to turn my camera's flash off, was too worried about the BSOD.

I have been playing the game Rust recently, and it seems to have caused some sort of error with my PC. At first, it couldn't repair itself enough to start up. I was able to get it working again by using the "Launch with last working config" option in the advanced boot menu. It can start up and run, but any gaming causes a BSOD at random intervals. Please help me! PC is custom built, running Windows 7 home edition 64 bit. Dump file is attached, and I am happy to provide any additional info.

This is the first time ive ever seen something like this. Your bugcheck is an unknown one.
Anyways to troubleshooting.
Try run DDU(Display Driver Uninstaller)
Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
After you've done that install your graphics driver again.

Hi guys,

please see my zip file from the SF Diagnostic Tool for details but basically I get the BSOD occuring (randomly?) while playing League of Legends and I cannot for the life of it figure out what exactly the problem is or even better, how to fix it.

Google sent me here and I really hope that anyone can help me a bit with this issue. Every tiny bit of help is deeply appreciated.

If I need to post different or additional information, please let me know (I presume everything important is covered in the SF diag tool). Thank you!

So I recently upgraded my hard drive to a western digital black 3TB and got a new CPU and Motherboard and installed Windows 7 and updated it. I've had a couple of blue screens, I do believe I've solved the one from 03/31/16 but I'm not sure what to do about the one that occurred today. I just got home from work and logged into my computer and shortly after it blue screened. I'm not sure what all I had running, but a few programs that were most likely up would be skype, steam, league of legends client and google chrome. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
