Q: HP Elite x2 Tablet BSOD

Hey all, We have recently began deploying the tablets above with windows 10 OS, plugged into, and charging through, HP USB -C docking stations and have been randomly getting Network connectivity disruptions and BSOD crashes. Looking at the logs i can see these critical errors Event 10111, DriverFrameworks-UserMode'A problem has occurred with one or more user-mode drivers and the hosting process has been terminated. ' then Event 10111, DriverFrameworks-UserMode'The device HP Elite USB-C Docking Station (location 0039.0000.0000.003.002.000.000.000.000) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hello, everyone. I have an HP Elite x2 that I am trying out for work. The IT support team does not have the knowledge yet to help. My question is: With this hybrid, if the screen and keyboard are detached, I cannot enter a password once the screen goes to sleep. Is there a way to bring the tablet's keyboard on screen when the device is in sleep mode? If not, every time it goes to sleep, i have to reconnect it to the keyboard. Thanks for your help in advance.

I have just bought an Elite x2 1010 G1 Tablet and have followed the screen instructions to install and create a user name and logon password to WIN10.  I created a Local user because I have no idea what to do with the "Hello" logon creation - I decided to carry this out later once I was firmly logged on to WIN10.   Everything seemed to work correctly within WIN10, so I downloaded my computer security software from CHECKPOINT,  created my email accounts, that also worked correctly. When I rebooted in order to carryon installing my programmes, I could no longer log on to WIN10 it refused my password. Not having created a  password reset key- simply because I did not know you had to do so at this point, I had no other choice but to reinitialise and reinstall the whole system again - after having spent lots of time trying to find the relevant documentation on how to do this.  Let me specify - I live in France;  the WIN operating system including the instructions is in French although I requested the apps to be in English (as it is my mother tongue). I spent 31/2 hours reinstalling the system and once again I requested the Local User + password - which was accepted by Windows 10.  So as not to waste time, I rebooted to see whether I could logon on again .... and NO, Windows refused yet again to accept my logon, which means that I am going to have to, once again, reinstall the complete  WIN10 operating system!!!  ... This is a new computer purchased in mid January. Specs are as follows;

Hp Elite e9270f
i7 860 2.8 GHz
8.00 Gb Ram
Windows 7 Home

This is a prebuilt unit purchased from Newegg.

Lately i have been receiving more and more BSOD. These usually occur after the computer sets and enters sleep mode. I go to wake up the machine only to find that the system has recovered from an error. I have only witnessed the BSOD once. All the rest seem to happen while the machine sits idle. It shuts down and restarts itself. I'd say that this started occuring about once every 2 days now its almost once a day.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Also is there a way to recover what the error message stated?

Hi, I have just received the HP Elite Thunderbolt 3 65W USB-C Dock. I have plugged it in, and my Elite X2 1012 G1 charges, but that is all. None of the ports are working. Monitor is not recognised either. If I plug my phone in via the USB port, it will charge, but not recognise it as a storage device. I have searched everywhere, and cannot find drivers that will resolve this issue. I have:- Thunderbolt software installed, and running, but still to no avail.- Installed and run "Intel Thunderbolt Firmware Update Utility", but get an error that there is no controller driver. Please help. ps. The machine was reimaged with a corporate SOE. So I am not sure if I am missing drivers.

First of all, thanks for having this forum. So I recently changed my motherboard and I'm assuming that is the problem. I can't seem to figure this out though so I came here because I heard this is where the pro's are. I only get the BSOD screen when playing Elite Dangerous. It's rather random too. For instance yesterday I played for like.. 4 hours straight and it was fine. Today I started up ED.. didn't even get to play for five minutes so I doubt it's my cpu overheating. Here's my zip file with the info there. Thanks again.

I recently (yesterday, 16/08/16) started experiencing the dreaded Blue Screen of Death whenever my laptop is connected to my HP Elite Thunderbolt 3 Dock. The machine is a HP ZBook 15 G3. It has been connected to this dock for over a month without this issue. I'm not sure why the sudden issue as I don't recall any updates or new software prior to this happening. The dock is connected to 2x monitors via HDMI cables, and an ethernet cable. I connect a wireless mouse and keyboard to a USB3 port on the laptop. If the dock is connected to the laptop on startup, it reaches the login screen before BSOD. If I start without it connected, it will BSOD a few seconds after connecting the dock. It never gets to the point where the monitors display anything. It can boot with the dock connected in Safe Mode, as this seems to disable it from working. I have updated all drivers and the BIOS (including downloading the Softpaq Download Manager) but there has been no change. I've also updated the NVIDIA drivers to the latest version without change. What should I do next to solve the issue?

A:BSOD upon connection to HP Elite Thunderbolt 3 Dock

I would personally try isolating the culprit, then go from there: 1) remove 1 monitor from the dock, then test2) remove ethernet from the dock, then test3) remove the last monitor and hook it directly to the laptop, so the dock is attached with nothing to it, then test4) I have my dock set to "Always Connect" in the thunderbolt software, not sure if that helps any.

Unfortunately I still haven't resolved the issue with my laptop. It's rather frustrating because we have an identical laptop and hardware setup with one of my colleagues and his works fine. No combination of BIOS update software uninstall and reinstall has resolved this issue. It's a shame because I have been accustomed to using the docking station for my older Compaq based laptop / Workstation and I really do love the feature.

Hello
I am also experiencing the BSOD when my computer goes idle. But the advice in those threads hasn't fixed my problem. After 10 minutes of no activity or input by myself the BSOD will appear with an error 'Kernel Security Check Failure'.
I have followed the instructions on the thread 'Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions' and attached the relevant zip files (note the file report.zip is from Perfmon.exe - I wasn't sure if I should send all files or just report.html).
Relevant Info:
· Windows 8.1 OEM OS
· 64 Bit
· Original OS: is and was Windows 8.1
· Age = < Year
· Never reinstalled/changed the OS
· Surface Pro 3 Tablet 128gb HD 4gb RAM
· I also ran 'SFC /SCANNOW' (in admin command prompt) and I get the error: 'Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.' I've attached my log file from C:/Windows/Logs/CBS.txt. Its says there are 4 files it could not fix.
· I recently installed Adobe Reader and got annoyed with its auto updater always running in the background. So I went and deleted that .exe. Maybe this has caused the error to occur - conflict with registry entry and non-existant .exe?
· Following advice on another thread; I uninstalled the Windows Update KB3022345 but this didn't stop the problem.

A:BSOD When Tablet Goes Idle

I'm late for work, please try this for starters:

Then please run the following DISM commands to see if there's any problems with the system (from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt).  Press Enter after each one:Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealthDism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealthDism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
FYI - I have repaired systems using the last command even though problems weren't found with the first 2 - so I suggest running them all.
From this article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh824869.aspx
You can also run sfc.exe /scannow from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt to check for further corruption.

Post back with the results and we'll move on to other things if that's not successful.

Hi,

I am getting a BSOD with the error DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and (igdkmd32sys). I am running full Windows 8 on a Dell Latitude 10 tablet. The tablet reboots with no further problems. The requested file is attached. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

A:BSOD-Windows 8 Tablet

Please re-run the data collection app and let it run for at least 15 minutes (or until the app itself says it's done).
Then zip it up and upload it with your next post.

There doesn't seem to be much wrong with the reports here.
I would suggest updating your video drivers from the Dell website (because the igdkmd32.sys driver is for your graphics card)

If the BSOD's don't stop, then I'd suggest running Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

At work we rarely fix tablets - it's much easier to Refresh/Reset them (primarily because there's not a lot of data stored on them and each one has it's own particular drivers). Is there a reason that you don't try this? We can help with backing stuff up should you choose to go that way.

The blue screen appears randomly, but until now just under one user account, not other ones !
I don't know much about these dump files and would be happy about any hint.

I tried installing the Tablet Button Driver II and it will go through the install but the buttons do not work.  This is the download link:http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds027627 The document claims Windows 10 compatability and was Last Updated :08 Jun 2015. On inspection, all the files extracted are dated from 2012 and when trying to manually run the software Windows throws up an error that the software is not supported on this PC.   I removed and reinstalled and noted that the driver information page when running the installer does NOT have Windows 10 listed as a supported system. My assumption is that the driver that they have linked on the download page is NOT the most current driver and is infact the driver for Windows 7 from 2012. Does anyone know how to contact Lenovo to get the correct driver posted to the page, or know of an alternate source to try and find it?

i have lenovo thinkpad 2 tablet it was not running well so i decided to reset it ...
but after 1 hr,it says "WINDOWS INSTALLATION FAILED PLEASE RESTART THE INSTALLATION"
and it keeps on repeating the same thing...
please help me ....

A:PERFORMED TABLET RESET now UNABLE to START TABLET

If it is still under warranty, call Lenovo. IF you tried to reset to factory defaults, and it is still failing, then you have something else that is going bad. My suspicion would be memory as that is what happened to me although it was on a desktop. Something to check...good luck.

Hey so I recently started using Adobe Flash CS5 on my computer with my tablet for drawing. My computer has been randomly crashing even when I'm not using Flash but still have the tablet plugged in. I've lowered down my computers appearance and what not to look more like XP to give me more memory but it stills happens.

A:BSOD Driver Power State Failure (Flash/Tablet?)

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

* A Driver Power State Failure has nothing to do with memory etc. Its a driver issue. Some PnP device drivers fail to react within the designed time during active/inactive power state changes. Most probably it is some driver relating to that tablet, but without seeing the crash dump it is hard to infer any more.

I just this morning installed my drawing tablet on this computer and I got this error about 5 minutes into using it. That's the short story.

The long story, however, is that this is my 13th BSOD since I installed a new HD into this laptop and reinstalled the version of Win7 I had. The difference is that this BSOD is the first one I've got that's not a 7A error and that's actually created a dumpfile. It's something of a revelation for me, but it doesn't appear to be at all related to the BSODs I've been suffering to date. Basically, I don't think this means that my old BSODs will suddenly be making dumpfiles for me too. I am curious whether there might be something in the attached dumpfile zip that tells me more than just the basics of what caused this particular BSOD and might help explain my others. That's for someone who know what they're looking at to determine though. For now, it would be helpful to get a solution to this specific BSOD and then I can work on the BSODs that have been bothering me until now.

Here's a link to my original thread addressing all the BSODs I've suffered previously if that info is of interest to anyone and could perhaps help here...

Well, you seem to be able to create dumps after all,

I downloaded the 'driver' on the gateway website:
http://support.gateway.com/support/d...&uid=263185599

after downloading & Extracting the file. a 'read-me' file pops up.

it reads:

This document describes the steps necessary to install the Tablet PC button drivers for the notebook computer models listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section below.

3. In the left pane, click Device Manager.

4. In Device Manager, click the plus sign (+) next to Human Interface Devices.

5. Click Tablet PC Buttons, and then from the Action menu, click Update Driver Software.

6. The Hardware Update Wizard displays. Click Browse my computer for driver software.

I got 2 BSOD's yesterday while playing Elite Dangerous and streaming on Twitch.tv using OSB to broadcast. Programs that where used when event happened are:
OBS (Open Broadcaster Software)
IE 11 with Twitch.tv and Gmail
Track IR 5
Spotify

I had just installed a new game capture software program and wonder if that may have been the issue. (Game Capture HD from El Gato).

Can you please review the attached logs and let me know what you find so I can prevent this from happening again.

STOP 0x124 (the WHEA Uncorrectable Error) is most frequently a hardware problem - but it can be caused by incompatible software (or even low-level driver problems). We usually suggest running hardware diagnostics to rule out the hardware. Here's my page with links to free diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

You had a bunch of memory dumps from back in April. I did not run the analysis on them as they don't appear to be related to the more recent one's (July 27 and later).

Riva Tuner (along with MSI Afterburner and EVGA Precision) are known to cause BSOD's in some Windows systems (it's driver is usually RTCore64.sys). Please un-install them immediately!

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.

There are 3 memory dumps (all are STOP 0x124) - but there are another 3 listed in MSINFO32, and they aren't STOP 0x124
Most are associated w/Windows drivers, but one is due to your Logitech software. Please update it to the latest, Win8.1 compatible version.

Please uninstall Corsair Link as it is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Dear Lenovo-Community,my Thinkpad S1 Yoga change into tablet modus not only when I fold back the monitor but also when I have closed the lid normaly and than reopened it or sometimes by slightly moving the monitor or a minor percussion of the table. That is very annoying, because than I have no access to keyboard or touchpad while beeing in the laptop-shape. I can revive keyboard/touchpad by folding back the monitor and than back to the normal laptop shape, but this works only one time! After that I have to send the thinkpad in the energy saving mode and wake it up, to get keyboard/touchpad back.I think it is a problem with the sensor, but does there a software setting exist so keyboard/touchpad keep unlocked in tablet-modus? Or a way to switch off the tablet-modus completely? I can live without the tablet-modus and the thinkpad is probably too old to be worth a great repair. My system is fully updated. Any idea out there?

I have been recently getting a lot of BSOD on my Thinkpad "x200" tablet. It may be caused by the fact that I am using a refurbished x201 tablet motherboard with rest of the components from a dead x200 tablet. However, it was working perfectly before I cleaned installed it on last week and I had the Frankenpad working since spring break. I don't know if it started before or after I installed 8gbs of PNY ddr3 ram. I believe it happened after I corrected a Machine code error 2200 on my laptop (lack of serial and model number in bios) and added a Intel 6300 wireless card.

Details:
? 64 bit
? clean installed to Windows 7 Professional upgrade (via usb, used ISO from digital river and made the usb bootable using Universal USB Installer from pendrivelinux.com)
? Age of laptop: unknown, motherboard was a refurbished product I got during Spring break.
? Current OS installed is 4 days old.

Thanks for your help.

The one crash included was caused by a memory exception probably by an unknown driver

Since you added ram recently I would run Memtest

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program.

Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slo... Read more

Hi all, I've noticed that my Yoga 910 is not auto rotatingwhen I set it to tent mode nor to tablet mode. Not only it doesn't auto rotate but it also keep the keyboard active... Not sure if this is a faulty sensor problem or just some bug. I've tried to follow the solutions presented in other topics but without success even tried a system restore but the problem is still here. I can't really identify which update has created this situtation but I know that when a couple of months ago it was still working. I also have the impression that more are affected, so could Lenovo release a patch to troubleshoot and solve such an important issue for a Yoga product (basically there is no Yoga functionality with this problem). Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Tech Guy and Gals,

I have a Gateway CX2618, w/ windows XP tablet edition 2005 version 2002, sp2. And wanted to wipe it clean and reinstall just the things I use. Plus my Tablet side of things hasn't worked in a long time and I was hoping the clean install would fix that.

But my recovery DVD isn't working (could be user error). I DO have apps that I need to keep and I think I've backed them up to my external HD correctly.

Need lots of help, I don't want to get rid of this lappy cause I love its style, but I need it to have better performance.

Thanks in advance
