ThinkCentre M800Z Touch Screen problems

Q: ThinkCentre M800Z Touch Screen problems

Hi, we have currently a lot of problems with touch screen Windows 10 pro 64bit. ThinkCentre M800zModel# 10ETCT01WW1. Cold start: touch screen mostly working or sometimes only for a short time. 2. Warm start: 2 - 10 rings are appearing on the screen, always some in the corners, and some spread over the middle area. Afterwards mouse cursor is jumping to the left upper corner and during movement always jumping betweencurrent position and upper left corner. Working with mouse is getting impossible after the rings are appearing. Programs are starting from ghost hand, taskbar is also not hiding even if there is no app in focus, ghost events were executed and others made won't be executed. It seems like the calibration programs keeps hanging and is not able to be started .... 3. Also the graphic driver is making troubles and showing the old Vista error, "graphic driver is not working and will be restored ..." I'm clueless right now what else we can do to solve these issues. We currently disabled touch screen, but it's really not helping a lot, because we want to use the touch screen when it's included. Has somebody an idea what we can change except all driver and tools updates ?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

We have taken delivery of six ThinkCentre M800z All-in-OnesSystem: 10ET-CTO1WWModel: M800zBios: FVKT43AUSOperating System: Win10 64-bit 10.0.10586 I have unpacked three of the six so far and I am experiencing the same issues with all three.  The touchscreen works for a short time, then the touch screen "cursor" jumps to to the top left (sometimes bottom left) and renders the touchscreen inoperable. I have tried all the usual troubleshooting steps including: driver updates, BIOS update, disabling "fast boot", disabling "hide pointer while typing" in mouse, running sfc.exe, and a number of other possible solutions from this (and other) forums.  Nothing has helped! Is this possibly a driver issue or a BIOS/firmware issue?  Is there an updated driver required for the HID touchscreen? We need the touchscreen functionality for the software package we are intending to run on these machines, so disabling it is not an option. I am becoming very frustrated now and would really appreciate a solution!  Many thanks.

Just replaced 2 clients old desktops with 2 shiny new ThinkCentre M800z All-IN-One complete with TouchScreen. The problem I am having is, the Touch screen cursor will jump to one of the upper corners and if you take your finger and try to drag elsewhere and release ..it will go right back to that corner.. I have dealt with ELO touchscreens with other clients and I know sometimes the Touch gets out of whack and you need to run a Touch screen alignment tool to get the touch back to normal. Any insight or tips I can try to fix would be greatly appreciated?

I am having strange "flashing, ghostly bubbles" on the screen. The mouse and the cursor are bouncing around and become almost inoperable.Sometimes there is only one bubble, sometimes there are more.Sometimes bubbles disapear and instead of bubbles there is a white square in the middle of the screen (bottom)Touch screen is not working anymore.I tried recovery ... restore point - it doesn't work.I uninstalled all apps that are from Lenovo and reinstalled them - it doesn't work.I made the system boot with only important drvs - it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

After a Win 10 update my hid compliant touch screen driver is missing from device manager and getting an error 45 not connected when it was there. Now I can't find it in hidden or visible Human Interface Devices at all. Lenovo update and Windows scan can't find it or update it and say I have all the drivers but I clearly don't. Where do I download it and get the Touch interface and functionality back? I've tried many things but no system restore won't even get me back there...

I recently changed the screen of my HP ENVY x360 [model: 15t-aq100] with this exact screen I got from eBay. I took out three cables and the little chipboard thingy, put back the little chipboard thingy and three cables and--voilą! The screen turns on and I get an image and, besides my little issue, it works fine.

My issue is that the touch screen function doesn't work at all--the computer recognizes that there is a "HID-compliant touch screen" when I open up my device manager and that it is enabled--but even after updating whatever software it wants me to update--even going so far as updating Windows 10 *shudder*--I don't get a response when my greasy little fingers caress the screen. The touch capability was working before and after the fall--I don't think any other cables or sensors got damaged, just the screen.

So my question becomes this: the screen I bought was touchscreen capable, right? It looks exactly like the old cracked one. How can I tell whether or not the screen itself is touch screen capable? If you don't think it's the screen I bought that's the problem, but something I did, what should I do? I tried inserting and reinserting cables and restarting the computer. I haven't tried searching for drivers for the screen, but I don't know where or how to find those. I'm honestly at a loss of ideas as of how to resolve this, so please...help?

Here is a link to the computer maintenance and service guide if that... Read more

I have just installed windows 8 on to my touch screen media pc. The problem is that it firstly has a 20px non touch screen boarder so i can't do the swipes required to navigate the o/s and secondly it isn't setup for a touch screen (when i click on a text box the keyboard does not come up). I am using windows 8 on my tablet so I know how it should work with a touch screen.

Asus Laptop, Windows 10 - touch screen works only on one side. I don't know what happens and it isn't the first time it has done this. there was no update installed. when I got back on the computer and restarted it the touch did not work on the left side
of screen but the right side of the touch works. how do I go about correcting this?
i went into device mgr and disabled the driver and I have searched for another driver for the touch screen but nothing helps. It shows HID compliant touch screen and the event view has same and also touch screen 1 & 2 as well. I didnt know if maybe that
is why it only works on one side.
It tells me device is working properly and it also says when you click on driver details that there are no files downloaded or installed for this driver (input.inf).
This problem has occurred several times and I don't know if something I've tried has corrected it or if it has managed to correct itself.  I wasn't sure which category or forum to ask this in. Would appreciate any help.

The touch on this All-in-One just quit working. This is my 87 year old mothers computer. She uses it VERY sparingly. It's a Pavilion 21-h013w. We gave it to her for Christmas in 2014. It came with Windows 8.1 and I upgraded it to Windows 10. It still worked after the upgrade. In system it shows Touch Support with 5 touch points. I am disabled and fix computers and phones etc to supplement my (sic) income. My mother hates to bother me when I have business so this problem went unknown to me for several months. She just recently told me because it's hard for her to use the mouse. I've been messing with it for a couple of days and still can't get it to work. F2 I've hit F2 and ran the tests. The touch will not work. No errors or anything. It will not respond. All the other components passed. DEVICE MANAGER I went into Device Manager and under "Human Interface Devices" it shows:HID-complient mouseHID-complient mouse I was expecting to find one mouse and...something else. Such as TouchSmart or whatever. I uninstalled the first one and the mouse stopped working. I had to force off the computer to get the mouse reinsatlled. The I uninstalled the second 'mouse' and nothing happened. I rebooted and everything was still the same. I searched and entered "Tablet PC Settings". HP said to click "Setup". I did that and in the next step you're supposed to select either Pen or Touch Input. That page didn't appear. It went straight to a full white page and sai... Read more

Hi. I'm hoping you can tell us, after we installed a new screen bezel on our Lenovo Laptop, why our touch screen keeps making 'beeping?' noises. Sometimes it makes the noise when we touch it and other times just out of the blue. It says there is interference in the air, no matter where we put it. It also constantly wants to perform touch tuning.
I am worried that we somehow put the bezel in wrong and it may burn out the touch screen. I know we are asking the impossible, but could you give us some sort of idea as to what it could be. Also, should we be using it like this? (It's our only computer.) Thank you.

When I turned my Inspiron 11 3168 on today, the touch screen and the two USB ports (USB 2.0) on the right side weren't working. Multiple resets did nothing. when i ran the diagnostics tool on dell's support page, it showed that my mouse and USB key were plugged in to the two USB ports on the right. However, neither devices would actually work unless they were plugged into the left USB port (USB 3.0). i tried a couple different mice and USB keys and encountered the same problem. Also, since the touch screen didn't work, i was forced to fail the tests in the diagnostics tool.

Thanks, N

So I have a small 10" touch screen  as a secondary screen and it is recognized and installed when I plug it in the computer. My problem is that the actual touching is severly misplaced and I can not use the calibration tool (Tablet PC Settings in control panel) to correct this problem. It is as if the vertical and horisontal inputs of the screen has been swapped. If I touch the right side on the screen and drag my finger to the left I can see the cursor go from the top to the bottom and if I touch the top and drag down the cursor goes from the left side of the screen to the right side of the screen.Installing the drivers from the manufacturer of the touch controller, http://www.eeti.com, did not help at all. It just says there are no touch controllers connected to my computer. Is there a way I can correct this problem?

If you are using Windows 10 have you tried using the Companion 3 app to see if it locates the driver for you?

Otherwise you can do a manual search for newer drivers by visiting the link below.  The download list can be sorted by the most recent date, but it is still a good idea to check version numbers.

Until recently I managed to disable the driver for only the touch driver (not the screen) through device manager, but then a lately update for windows 10 activated the driver again. So now the 5-6 points is constant active, and I cannot login because the screen will not focus on the login field.  This means I cannot login to windows 10. I have also tried to start safe mode (turning off computer repeatly, so it starts up in safe mode), but here the touch screen driver is also active.  How can I disable the touch screen driver without login into windows 10?

My Lenovo U410 Touch recently got damaged - the hinge broke causing the touch screen to **bleep**.I was told that a repair was not feasible as none of the repair shops near me were able to source the parts needed.I therefore bought a new laptop. However, there is a lot of data on the old laptop that I want to access, including sorting out the licensing of MS Office (by uninstalling from the old one).I cannot do anything about it as the old machine is completely unusable as due to the touch screen being cracked, it seems to think it is constantly being touched in multiple places on the screen. This means that I cannot access the laptop to copy the data or uninstall Office. Anyone know any way around this that doesn't involve taking it to a repair shop to "recover" my data. Cheers

hi Hersh,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

First do a Power Drain
     (If the battery is removable)
Remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec.
Turn the computer back on and see if the Touch capability is now detected under System Properties,
                  If not
I suggest you contact Lenovo Technical Team about the Issue as this may be a device detection issue.

The laptop has vertical lines of dead pixels running across the screen and I want to get the LCD replaced. Now the non touch screen model of this laptop has a Full HD variant (1920x1080) as opposed to the standard 1366x768 WXGA HD display while the touch models only come with the WXGA HD LCDs. Can I replace the LCD of my touch screen model with the FHD one? I have been able to detach the digitiser from the LCD itself and have the hinges and screws so I would assume it would be a simple case of changing one LCD with the other. The replacement touch screen models all come with the digitizer and hinges attached which is not something I require so it would be easier (and cheaper!) if I only got the LCD replaced. Lastly, if this is possible, do I need to purchase any additional cables? If so, which one? Thanks in advance.

A:Replacing Dell 15R 5537 Touch screen LCD with FHD non touch LCD

You're going to need at least the FHD wiring harness:
www.parts-people.com/index.php
the screen
www.parts-people.com/index.php
and the bezel
www.ebay.com/.../302211389965
You may or may not be able to re-use the back cover/hinge assembly - usually these are different between non-touch and touch versions.

Hello, My Thinkpad Yoga is connected to a large display through ThenkPad docking station.  Its lid is closed.   During my work, from time to time I see random touch clicks on my screen, and random opening of menus.  It is clear that the touch screen is active although the lid is closed.  When I open the lid, and still connected just to the 2nd display (large screen) display the phenomena stops.  Worth noting is that although only the 2nd display shows an image, the laptop touch screen is still sensetive to touch.  This is I guess why the random touches show up on the screen -- it feels the keyboard not fingers. I expect the touch screen to be disabled while the lid is closed or when projecting only to the 2nd screen.  The solution of opening the lid while connected to the docking station is not acceptable.  Lenovo's local support suggestion to disable touch for the Yoga is also not acceptable -- people purchase Yoga to get Touch.   A solution please! Yaron

Hi there, sorry to be a bother.Like the title says, my touch screen stopped working. I went on to my computer one afternoon and found my mouse stuck in the top left corner, fidgeting. This was what I was expiriencing. (My touch-screen still worked fine at the time, but I still couldn't do anything or control the mouse, but I could tell that it was still working and it still responded.) After a bit of time and a few restarts later, it went back to normal, but my touch-screen then stopped working. I'm used to the touch-screen working incorrectly occasionally, and much like the mouse thing, a restart or two helps. It has now been three days and my touchs-creen still does not work. I've tried many of the solutions found in these forums, but to no avail. I am running Windows 10 and have had this computer for 2+ years.  Thanks.

Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40°. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. I already tried to manually install another Wacom driver mentioned at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Wacom-Tablet-Service-for-ISD-Driver-Win... and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P40-Yoga-issues/td-p/3293985. I had no luck trying driver versions 7.3.3.12, 7.3.4.8 and 7.3.4.13. I would really appreciate your help since this issue makes working in the tablet position... Read more

Hi Magnutus, welcome to the forums.

Please check if you Lenovo S210 is on warranty under with this tool.
After that you can open a ticket with Lenovo for the screen to be fixed, if it is not under warranty it will have a cost.

If you are the guys that like to fix it yourself (and it is not under warranty) I can recommend you to check the support site for your model, read the Hardware Maintenance Manual (on the documents area) and check how the machine is organized on the inside. On the parts lookup page you can find the parts number so you can find a replacements for the component that is giving you issues.

I hope this links helps you.

The touchscreen stopped working suddenly on my Envy TouchSmart Sleekbook 4-1115dx. At first i though it was like a normal failure and that will get fixed by turning the pc off or restarting so I did not pay attention to it until now that I had restart my pc multiple times. Currently running win10. I started to believe it was because of an update a few days ago since it was when the problem started but all drivers and everything is up to date. I have checked for the HID-compliant Touch Screen driver and had to  show hidden divices in order to find it. I cannot enable it and when i check in the properties the following message displays: "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. The trackpad (from how it seems) causes Windows to switch to touch mode on the W541. What triggers touch mode?- Using the trackpad;- Unlocking the laptop. So why care if the W541 does not have any touch capabilities anyway?- Apps switch to touch mode which enlarges elements and makes work inefficient;- Websites switch to touch mode which makes certain web elements unusable;- The notifications button is moved off the screen for a while (see attachment);- The famous touch keyboard button shows up in the taskbar. What we have tried so far:- Updating all drivers provided by Lenovo;- Disabling tablet mode from Settings ? Tablet mode;- Disabling the Synaptics Pointing Device from Device Manager;- Disabling Human Interface Devices (even though nothing with ?touch? is listed here) from Device Manager;- Disabling all trackpad features from Synaptics. The way to work from the W541 is to use a mouse without ever touching the trackpad and to never lock the laptop which is ridiculous. Operating system: Windows 10 Enterprise (issue also confirmed on Windows 8)

A:Logitech Touch Mouse 400 for a Laptop with no touch screen

Sorry I can't answer your question, but this post piqued my interest. I use the Logitech 620 touch mouse on a Windows 7 box at work. I find a little touchy and has to tweaked. But I haven't tried the 620 on Windows 8. Because I'm always looking for the perfect mouse, I think I might just pick up the 400 tonight and let you know.

I'm on the Driver Download page for the S400 Touch, but I have no idea which driver is for my touch screen.  There are display drivers and mouse/touchpad drivers, but neither of them say anything (at least I don't see it) about the HID touch screen.  Running Windows 7 64bit.  Any ideas?

Hi everyone,  I am currently using a Lenovo T450s with the default screen option when checking out. I would like to upgrade to a touch screen. I would like to ask if:- the upgrade from non-touch to touch screen is possible?-where could I buy the touch screen for the laptop? would this one work? https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-T450S-Touch-Screen-04X5911/dp/B01H0NKM5W/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=147986... - where could i the basic guide to do it by myself? The most important question that I think is the first one: whether it is possible to upgrade from a non-touch to touch screen on T450s. I look forward to hearing all the suggestions.Thank you.
