I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I've had this build for over a year and have been playing both CSGO and GTA with no problems for quite a while. The first BSOD came whilst using the shadow play feature that Nvidia offers. I turned shadow play off and did a fresh install of Nvidia Experience and updated the drivers for my GPU (Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 ti). This seemed to work for about a a day or two and then I had another BSOD. Since then I have been experiencing BSOD irregularly. Sometimes I can play any game for hours with no problem, other times I have BSOD as soon as I start the game up. I've checked for memory errors, updated the GPU driver, scanned for malware and I'm still at a loss. Would greatly appreciate any insight. Thank you

I installed a new monitor and problem starts when "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" issue constantly appears. So I updated my AMD Catalyst Control Center and the issue stopped. I tried playing a game (CSGO), then after a few minutes, BSOD occurs. Everytime i start windows normally, after a few minutes, BSOD will happen. I uninstalled my AMD CCC (including the display driver) then BSOD stopped. But when i reinstalled my everything, BSOD happens again and again. Need Help Thanks!

Hi, I'm new to this forum so apologies for not providing all relevant info right away.
The issue I'm having is that my computer will BSOD randomly while playing games such as CSGO, Civilization V and Europa Universalis IV. The time I play before a BSOD occurs seems random, although its usually before 30 minutes of gameplay.
In other instances, my computer simply turns off without warning, and then restarts itself without even presenting a BSOD. Attached is the BSOD file I've been instructed to upload. Any help would be much appreciated

If I need to provide any other details just say the word.

Hey all,

So lately in the past couple weeks outta nowhere I've been not being able to play CSGO because it will just crash and BSOD after a while of playing (like 10-30 minutes). However, while playing any other game like Overwatch or Rust it doesn't crash at all and the BSOD issue doesn't occur. So I just decided "fine, I won't play CSGO", but now it just happened whilst browsing the internet a couple weeks after CSGO bsod became a regular thing. I have the dump files and this is a formal request for help, so thanks to anyone that reads the files and can give me any info on what I can do. Thank you

My PC started crashing suddenly after installing Windows 10. I obviously thought it was fault of the OS so I reinstalled 7 Ultimate x64, yet the crashing kept on happening. I haven't done any changes to my PC and it's been stable for months. Last change was GTX970 in May. i5-3570K is overclocked to 4,4GHz but it's been rock solid so I doubt it's the cause of issues. I'm honestly completely out of explanations.

Setup: i5-3570K (4,4GHz @ 1,32V), MSI GTX970 (Stock, was OC'd before), ASRock Z77 Pro3, 2x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1600MHz, Samsung 840 Evo 250GB, Kingston 60GB SSD cant remember model, 1TB HDD.

From what I can tell, the issue shouldn't be GPU, Memory, PSU or SSD/HDD drives. I doubt my OC'd i5 would suddenly start acting up as it's been stable and temps have been good (I'm running AIO water). I'm pointing the finger towards motherboard as it's been acting up once in a while, but I'm not sure if that makes any sense.

I've tried:
Reinstalling clean Windows a few times - crashes and BSOD here and there keep on happening with nothing installed apart from standard drivers, Steam and CSGO.

Reinstalling Windows to another SSD - no effect.

Downgrading to 3 different Nvidia drivers and been using 353.30 - maybe little bit less crashes, no real effect

Running Memtest86 for 8 hours - 0 errors

Running 3Dmark on loop for 2 hours while overclocking the card - stable as a rock, TDP 110% so PSU should be fine

Taking another memorystick out - no effect

Hello friends.

For more than 6 months now, I've been having BSODs after I quit or alt+tab the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The BSODs don't seem to have any sort of pattern aside from not happening at all unless I have already played the game in the current session. They can happen right when I close the game, some time after I've closed it (5 minutes to 5 hours - feels really random) and also while I'm outside the game, but the game is still running in the background.

I don't know what else to do. I have already bought a new laptop - but it happened in the previous one too. I have formatted the current laptop countless times. I have tried multiple drivers for every single piece of hardware I have. I have plenty of friends who have the same BSOD (with multiple games), and none of us could solve it, but I'm the one who has been facing the problem for the longest time now I believe.

The BSODs are usually "Page_Fault_in_Non_Paged_Area" or "System_Service_Exception". Files always seem to be "win32k.sys" and "cdd.dll". Since I've last reformatted this laptop, I didn't have that many occurrences, but putting all of the BSODs together, I've probably had more than a 100 of them.

My system specs:

Laptop: Avell B155 Max (it's a barebones Brazilian brand - Avell)
Processor: Intel Core i5-4200M Haswell @ 2.50 GHz
Mainboard: no idea. No software recognizes it. CPU-Z lists manufacturer as "Notebook", model as "Titanium B1... Read more

While playing csgo it sometimes just freezes and then csgo isn't working anymore, if i then check the system log file i get WHEA warningslike: A corrected hardware error has occurred. Reported by component: Processor Core.
But sometimes it also freezes my whole pc and then when i check the windows-system logbook i see this error:

And when i Stress test with Prime 95, it will test like 5/10 minutes and my 4 cpu's get to 91 degrees C, and then it will crash. And on the next startup i have this error:

On some forums I have read that this can be RAM related, but I don't know for sure since the BSOD might obviously have many causes.

New fresh install of windows 8 updated to 8.1 with all my motherboard drivers etc up to date. Display drivers are the newest Omega drivers from AMD.

I installed steam and decided to install csgo to my ssd/C: drive since it's my most played game. Now I can play the game fine but after a short amount of time the game and display drivers will crash giving me a black screen and sound loop. I let it sit there for a while so I could get a bsod and crash dump to happen.

Since then I also updated my ssd to the latest firmware and reinstalled my AMD drivers and the problem still persists. I have no other games installed at the moment so if you wan't me to check if the crash happens with other games let me know.

Here is my debug info

Recently uninstalled all video drivers and re installed. The bsods sometimes go away for a week or two but come back. and sometimes when it bsods there is a static noise inside of the computer, and the blue screen becomes distorted

Hi irunebar12 & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

I have analysed your dump files and below has been provided an analysis of the same for informative purposes :-

Code:
Error : DCACHEL0_WR_ERR (Proc 7 Bank 1)
Status : 0xbf80000000000124
Address : 0x0000000101d80bc0
Misc. : 0x0000000000000086

The dumps are consistent with the error that there was a problem in writing to the L0 Cache of the CPU. That is a dead CPU and hence you are getting the errors even after a fresh install.
See if you are getting any errors in Prime95 according to the below (thanks usasma) -

Prime95 download site: GIMPS - Free Prime95 software downloads - PrimeNet
Prime95 Setup:
- extract the contents of the zip file to a location of your choice
- double click on the executable file
- select "Just stress testing"
- select the "Blend" test. If you've already run MemTest overnight please run the "Small FFTs" test instead. (run all 3 if you find a problem and note how long it takes to error out with each)
- "Number of torture test threads to run" should equal the number of CPU's times 2 (if you're using hyperthreading).
The easiest way to figure this out is to go to Task Manager...Performance tab - and see the number of boxes under CPU Usage History
Then run the test for 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors (whichever comes first).
Monitor the CPU temperature and DON'T let it exceed 85?C. If it do... Read more

Hello fellas! It's now like 1 year, that im having troubles with my computer. I had really many patience with it, tried really anything i could but now im done with my nerves and asking you to help.

Problem: Many different BSOD's + sometimes PC just Shutdown as if i took out the power cable. And it freeze sometimes untill i reset it - The picture freezes, sound stopped, nothing changes even with ctrl + alt + del. The Windows System Logs are full with Criticals, Errors and Warnings. They occur randomly, not just while im playing 3d Games but even without any programms running.

Since i bought that custom hardware im having those BSODS, Shutdowns etc sometimes 1x a week, sometimes 10x / day for many days in a row. I guess it's a Hardware failure, because i tried like 20+ Windows reinstalls. Diferent Versions of Win7, with same bad result.

I've bought those parts:

x6 Phenom Processor with silent Cool Fan
500W power supply
ASUS M4A88TD-V
Radeon HD 6900
2x 4GB Ram with passive cooling
2x 1TB WDC SATA

1. What i already tried:
a. After like 1 year i asked the seller to help out. He replaced following hardware: motherboard, power supply, graphic card. It didn't helped.
b. I tried to remove 1x RAM, then tried only with the other one

A:BSOD 0x00000124, A0000001 and random Shutdowns without BSOD

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Also the MSINFO32 you uploaded it corrupt. So upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.
Click on the start button
Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.
BTW, a stop 0x124 is a hardware issue, and you may follow Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try. ATM cannot suggest anything more due to lack of data.

And a stop 0xA0000001 is associated with ATI/AMD display driver; inbuilt and inherent in it. If this error is followed by a driver update, try to Driver Rollback. If it is taking place irrespective of the driver version, change the GPU.

Hi all, I just built this PC recently (~1 week ago) have not encountered any problems until recently when I've been trying to overclock it. My motherboard is the Asrock Z97 Pentium anniversary board, the one that automatically overclocks with the touch of a button (I choose what speed I want and it sets the multiplier and core voltage). It lets you choose if you want to OC it to 3.8ghz, 4.0ghz, 4.2 ghz. I currently have it set at 4.0ghz which seems to be pretty tame compared to other z97+g3258 owners.

I have 2 monitors connected to the PC and it will only bluescreen when i push the cpu to its limit. Ie. when I'm watching Youtube/Twitch.tv at HD and playing League of Legends or Dark Souls 2 on the other screen. When I am doing this, my cpu temp stays between 70-80C while at idle it hovers around 35C and has never BSOD at idle.

I've noticed that before BSOD occur there will be some latency stuttering (internet lag) and I'm hoping the problem is outdated drivers (specifically the realtek ethernet controller).

Stop 0x124 is a hardware error.... if you are overclocking try resetting your processor to standard settings and see if that helps ... if you continue to get BSOD here are some more things you may want to consider ..

Quote:
Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try
Synopsis:

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint. Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.
Generic "Stop 0x124" Troubleshooting Strategy:
1) Ensure that none of the hardware components are overclocked. Hardware that is driven beyond its design specifications - by overclocking - can malfunction in unpredictable ways.

2) Ensure that the machine is adequately cooled. If there is any doubt, open up the side of the PC case (be mindful of any relevant warranty conditions!) and point a mains fan squarely at the motherboard. That will rule out most (lack of) cooling issues.

3) Update all hardware-related drivers: video, sound, RAID (if any), NIC... anything that interacts with a piece of hardware. It is good practice to run the latest drivers anyway.

4) Update the motherboard BIOS according to the manufacturer's instructions. Their website should provide detailed instructions as to the brand and model-specifi... Read more

A friend purchased a Dell XPS 8900 just before Christmas and dropped it off to me for some upgrades (PSU, GTX 770, SSD). After installing the new hardware I did a fresh install of Win10 Home x64 and sent it back. He contacted me recently about lockups he has been having and today was the first chance I've had to look at it. First thing I fired up bluescreenview and had a look. There were 50 BSOD's since Dec 28, all with 0x00000124 and HAL.dll as the culprit. I'm a very experienced system builder and can install/tweak Windows in my sleep but analyzing BSOD's is not my strong suit. I know the video card, hard drives, PSU to be good and am currently testing the RAM. If anybody can have a look at the dump files and offer some advice I'd appreciate it.

I'm not sure where to start so I'll start from the when I got my SSD.

After switching to the SanDisk 240 SSD I noticed I get BSODs when my computer awakes from sleep mode, so I never use sleep mode. I don't like to use sleep mode anyways.

As time passed by I noticed my computer was rebooting randomly. I thought maybe it was overheating from my cpu due to my heatsink being terrible, but then after I upgraded to H80i closed water loop system I'm still getting the random reboots with no BSODs. I've been watching my cpu temps as I'm doing my tasks and the temps don't rise about 45c.

Now that I've installed the new Razer Black Widow Ultimate Mechanical keyboard I've noticed BSODs when it randomly shuts down.

In the Manager under Windows Logs I notice this:
Critical
Event ID = 41 (63)
"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Steps attempted to resolve issue:
1. I've tried updating my drivers for my mobo and when I checked I've already got the latest drivers.
2. Upgrade cpu heatsink to the H80i.
3. Update OS.

I've attached the zip file created from the the SF_Diagnostic_tool.

Any help would be very much appreciated. I don't know how to read dump files.

Hi oddmut.

It appears that the BSODs are appearing during playing Battlefield4; and computer is more or less 3 years old.

Update your display driver to the latest WHQL.

Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: Speccy - Publish Snapshot of your System Specs .

Check if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) supplying adequate power to the computer or not.

Also let us know the wattage of the PSU.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.
If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Hi folks,

The only time I get this particular BSOD is when I have my nvidia video card installed. Could that be the problem, or am I just imagining it? I get another crash with my AMD video card

Do I just need a new motherboard? I hope I followed the instructions correctly.

Thanks!

A:Once a day BSOD 0x00000124 help please?

Please go to Windows update and in the left column select change settings, in the dropdown box select check for drivers but let me decide what to install.
Please go to control panel, category view, uninstall programs and uninstall all display drivers, AMD and Nvidia. follow this tutorial Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling select both AMD and Nvidia then begin with step 9 in this tutorial NVIDIA Drivers - Avoid Problems. See if you have any better luck with youe Nvidia Card.

Hello all,

A friend of mine is having some issues with his computer. I've asked for help on other forums, but they can't seem to help..

I'll try to make it as short as possible, here goes!

My friend bought a computer 2 years ago, with the following specs:
GTX280
Intel Core2Duo E8500
MSI P35 NEO-F
Mushkin DDR2 PC2-800

After 1 year, the computer started doing BSOD's with the errorcode, 0x00000124.
I've read on several forums for a solution (including this one), but it doesn't seem to help.
He had Windows Vista installed, so we figured it would be a good idea to format the computer. No problem occured while formatting, but we haven't been able to install windows again. Every time we try, he gets a 0x00000124 BSOD, and I have no idea what to do now. I've tried to help him for 4 months, no luck.

I've tried switching his rams around, and using only 1 block
I've tried adding new coolingpaste for his CPU.
I've tried clearing CMOS and cleaned his PC for dust etc.
Etc. etc. etc...

I've added this picture for you to look at. It's his PC Health Status.
http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/954/dsc00487ft.jpg

I have no idea if those are the right values for his components.

I hope you guys can help us out, and please ask for any additional info you might require.

Yours sincerely, Thomas

Doing a google search this appears to be almost anything can cause this. Motherboard, CPU, Memory, etc.

If we had the actual PC Manufacturer and Model Number, we can look it up and maybe come up with something more that "the anything" potential.

Looking at the picture I see an option for "Chassis Intrusion" and that is on many Dell commercial line Optiplex models, could this be a Dell? (But not a GX280 with the CPU that is installed).

Hi I just recently got my PC and have had these randomn BSOD's with the same error code and drivers listed. I have tried searching around but solutions and discussions have been a bit unique to other people's problems. I may have missed it somewhere so I do apologise in advance for any duplication. Anyway in summary the error code is 0x00000124 and always says it's related to ntoskrnl.exe and hal.dll.
The latest dump file became different when I switched on Driver verifier and selected only the 2 drivers above and I went into an infinite loop of BSOD's of which I only stopped by loading the last known good settings.

Additionally I have also got the PERFMON and Jcgriff2 files as instructed by the BSOD posting help.

Hope someone can shed some light on this. Generally the BSOD tends to happen as I am gaming and randomnly.

Thanks

Nik

The 2 files that are mentioned are core Windows files.
They are protected by the system file checker also.
As such, if you were having problems with them, you'd have many more issues than just the occasional BSOD.
It's most likely that another, 3rd party driver is causing these Windows files to crash.

A STOP 0x124 error is primarily a hardware error - but it can be caused by compatibility issues, low-level driver problems, or even by malware. Here's some info on it: BSOD Index and here's a link to some suggested troubleshooting procedures: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try - Windows 7 Forums

FWIW - here's a link on how I suggest using Driver Verifier: Driver Verifier Settings But I generally don't recommend using it on STOP 0x124 errors (although it can't hurt if you take precautions).

More to follow when I finish analyzing the dump files.....

Hello guys.
I've been having this problem for quite some time now.
It normally happens when im playing and it's compleatly random, since sometimes I dont get any problems for 2 or 3 days and then it happens 2 ou 3 times in a row. I've already tryed to investigate this issue a few time but without any success. I'll just attach some of the .dmp files. The computer in question is a Asus Laptop G60j with the following specs:
- C2D e6600
-4GB ram
-nVidia Gforce 260m GTX 1Gb

Any other information that might be needed just ask.

Thanks in advance,
Tiago

How old is this Asus laptop? Is Windows fully updated using Windows Update manually, until no more updates are found? All the 7 minidumps are the same... They don't provide much help
