"clearance delay" w/ shipping

Q: "clearance delay" w/ shipping

The laptop I ordered is now in "clearance delay" in Alaska. Anyone else ever experience this? How long will it take

Preferred Solution: "clearance delay" w/ shipping

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: "clearance delay" w/ shipping

Apparently this is a huge issue that have 1000s of issues with every single month that I've dated back for over 7 years. I will never order from HP again. It's happened both times and last time it took an extra week and a half and then I had to send it back due to software issues! Of course they won't let you post anything about it or say anything about it when you place an order!

Hi, My p50 has been delayed by over a month!! Is this common? The Rep on phone tells me exactly what's on the Order Visibility Portal and doesn't seem to know anything more.  I hope someone from Lenovo could get in touch me over this. Cheers,Nate

HiMy p71 has been delayed by over a month! Really? I order it at Sept 1st, Lenovo first tells me it will be shipped at 12th. However, Lenovo delayed the estimated shipping to 14th, then 15, then 16th. Finally, Lenovo delayed the estimated shipping day at 26th!!!!!  I ordered the computer on September first and it will arrive on October 4th! I won't  buy Lenovo anymore! Shipping system sucks! Nobody gives me an apology.

Hi,   I am not sure if I should have posted this in any existing appropriate thread. I have ordered a P50 (config includes 2 X 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSDs, 1 X 1TB HD). I placed the order on 12th April and was informed there could be 3-4 weeks of delay (because of PCIe SSDs availability) with estimated shipping date 12th May. In between (a week back or so), I called and I was told that estimated shipping date is 11th Of May and there is no change or surprise in the shipping date. When I didn't get any shipping notification yesterday or today, I called back and the rep was not sure about the status of my order and hence she promised to update me by end of today. Just now, I got her email saying the shipping is delayed further caused by "hard drive". I am not sure if this further delay is due to hard drive of 1TB PCIe NVMe SSDs. Do any of you, who may have ordered P50 with 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD(s), got P50 delivered? How long it took? If its really about the hard drive, I may even consider dropping this from the config (should have done at the first place).

On January 23rd, 2018, I a laptop from Lenovo Inc for a total of $1,630.84 under the impression of receiving the purchased laptop within 7-9 business days. This time frame was advertised in large font in two above the fold areas (see below) immediately before I clicked a button that gave your company permission to withdraw funds from my account. Within a few hours of debiting my bank account, I logged in to find your company changed the time frame from 7-9 business days to almost two months (shipping date of March 14th) Upon contacting Lenovo I was repeatedly instructed that: "For custom built devices, expect a delay in the delivery date(subject to change) since we will be building your preferred specs from scratch" Let me be clear: I have no issue with delays. I?m a reasonable person. But that is the key here; reasonable. The delay represents almost 400% of the original estimate, and given the fact that within hours of purchase the delivery date was extended, it would be reasonable to believe that Lenovo.com should have done one of the following:1- At the least; update me, I shouldn?t have to log in to find out my order is delayed 2 months2- Inform me before I purchase. Given that there are many complaints on your support forum I found after purchasing, I?m shocked you would advertise a time frame that seems totally out of sync with the reality your users are experiencing.3- Implement customer inconvenience minimization strategies: i.e. no... Same thing happened to me on my P71. Went from 12 days to over a month. However, my credit card was not charged until actual shipment. Calling and complaining did nothing. The biggest variable seems to be availibility of specific memory modules.

A:Shipping Delay for Lenovo Yoga!!!

All computer makers are at the mercy of their suppliers.  The makers get disks, LCD panels, memory, etc. from suppliers.  In most cases, they have multiple suppliers for an item to ledden the chances of problems, but occasionally, parts availability is delayed.  It is always frustrating when you're the one at the bottom of the chain.

I ordered a Thinkpad OLED Yoga, 16GB ram and 1TB SSD, on 6/17/2016. This order has been delayed many times due to parts back order, first the drive, then the screen, at least that's what I'm told, but frankly I've lost respect for customer support as they cannot provide any concrete details about my order. The latest estimate indicates that it will ship 9/12/2016, almost 3 months after the order.  I do want this machine and I see others on this forum have recieved a similar configuration. So, what is the deal here? Is Lenovo the most incompetent company on earth? Why offer a configuration they cannot fullfill? The current shipping window for this configuration is 3 weeks.  Can anyone shed any light here? Thanks,Kevin

Hi all, I have a question for the community where maybe someone can help. Due the way my desk is built the PC case is close 2.5 cm on the ventilation side to the wood of the desk. I've read that the minimum clearance should be around 15cm so I wondered if I can leave with my 2.5 cm.Then I thought something stupid; the CD reader is vertical so in theory the PC could be placed upside-down and the ventilation would be then on the free side. Is there any specific reason why the PC could not work efficiently and without any impact on the reliability? The obvious answer...to buy a new desk is not under consideration at the moment Spoiler (Highlight to read)  Thank you for the help

A:Lateral clearance for ventilation

@fogarty01?, welcome to the forum. My advice is to find another way to place your computer.  I would not be comfortable with that small amount of clearance; especially on the vent side.  I always try to have at least 12 inches clearance in all directions.  In fact, I have my desktop sitting on top of a low file cabinet to allow it to get plenty of fresh air.  Airflow is the best way to keep the heat under control.  HEAT is your enemy!!  Also, you should give the computer a thorough cleaning to keep the heat down. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

DON'T know how to make this simple and I'm throwing out facts I know, but don't assume for a second that I know what it all means! LOL And before you suggest it -- too late to send the computer back for refund!!!

Bottom line, Windows Media Player 12 seems to be malfunctioning and/or blocking interface with two (so far) other 3rd-party softwares. All attempts to resolve this have so far failed -- both on my part and many Dell support techs.

The Computer is a brand new Dell Inspiron 570, 64-bit, Windows 7 Home Premium, utilizing Windows Media Player 12. So far, OverDrive Media Console (public library software allowing the borrowing of digital media), and BBC iPlayer (catch-up TV shows) have malfuctioned preventing downloading of the media in each case.

In the case of OverDrive Media Console, it asks for a security upgrade, error message provides two different methods of accomplishing that ... the first from a link within the software itself. FAILED!!! The second is a link to a a Microsoft website - FAILED!!!

With BBC iPlayer, the installation of Desktop Player appeared to be working normally from their website, but when it got to a required installation of component named Adobe Air, it failed to complete. No reason give, except failure of the component to install.

Am not that savvy about technical issues to begin with, though I can muddle my way through most things. However, this 64-bit Dell is only 5 days old (to me) -- O.S., methods, all different to ... Read more

I think I've tamed my new beast of an ATI Radeon 4870 x 2. Not sure WHY I absolutely had to have it, but hey. The top card for a few weeks anyway....even though at stock fan speeds the CORE temps can reach 100 Celcius !! (what about fragile parts on the mobo nearby this little heatbox??)

FYI - Running XP Pro V2002 SP3

Anyway, Riva Tuner seems to work at comandeering the GPU fan speeds back up to reasonable - if a tad noisy - levels. Its a little Klugey: occaisionally stops working or seems to only want to work from either the startup folder or as from a registry key.

The main problem I have is that I have a 'Visitor' account setup (I sublet my place occasionally) for non-ME users to limit the amount of havoc they can do. HOWEVER, Riva tuner will not start or operate properly with anything but administrator privileges. This is a non-starter. So I can either grant guests full dominion over my PC...or have my 4870 cooks itself into complete failure while restricting the access of my guests.

Is there a better mousetrap for RivaTuner??

(Note that starting up as an admin and then logging on/off is NOT an option, as 95% of the time, the scenario will be a guest starting up without me around.).

Many thanks to all who opine....

As a newbie and using EasyBCD, I had problem-free success creating dual boot unit four months ago. But I never much used Mint 16 and wish to do clean install of LTS Qiana 17.

There is no findable guidance for folks that want to do a Clean REinstall of Linux (Mint) in a Windows 7 dual-boot situation...especially for those who have the Grub2 boatloader placed in Linux Root.

GOAL: Clean dual boot install of Linux (Mint 17) in place of never-modified Mint 16 (no data or mods to care about or preserve)

- Non-UEFI laptop with Windows 7
- Current partitions: Win7 / Data [NTFS] / Small Fat32 / Linux LOGICALS (3): ROOT + SWAP + HOME
- Bootloader is currently in Linux Root (wish to keep it that way)

Much of the following is newbie presumption based on common sense. Please correct or clarify at any point, thanks!

I think #1.) concerning EasyBCD might be a non-issue. My key interest is getting guidance and help on 2.) farther below...

1.) Preferred sequence of the following 2 actions. Does in matter?

a.) Wipe Linux partitions via "Delete Volume" in Windows Disk Management.
b.) Use EasyBCD to clear the Linux boatloader entry **

** I am blindly presuming b.) is required (common sense without experience) but for a while I was wondering if clearing the Linux bootloader entry could be skipped, meaning:

Title I wanted to use: Windows XP SP3: Slow Startup / Boot: Black Screen Delay & Delay after logging in

For some reason I can't preview my post when I use this title: I have tried removing all the punctuation, including the &, which doesn't work and have tried other titles with the same character length, which does work.

Problem Begins Here:

When I turn on or restart my computer, the boot up time from the time I press the power button to the time the final icon on my desktop loads is slow. I am not too concerned about the time after my desktop is shown since I have several items to run at startup.

The two areas of concern are:

1) After the XP logo is shown, my screen goes black. This lasts for about 17 to 19 seconds. I don't know when this started as I rarely restart my computer. The problem is worse if I startup in Safe Mode. It's about 1 minute and 10 seconds before I see anything on the screen, and another 40 seconds before something else is shown on screen. Note: In order to not to have to waste time pressing F8 and choosing Safe Mode, I enter safe mode by specifying so in msconfig. The options I chose were /SAFEBOOT and Minimal.

2) After I login, there is a delay of about 30 to 45 seconds before the desktop is shown. Windows stays at the login confirmation screen during that time. This I feel has happened recently.

Boot Time Results tested using a stopwatch:

Normal Boot (i.e. Not Safe Mode):

After the Windows 10 April 2018 update, my Lenovo Yoga 3 14 laptop is not starting immediately. It's not boot-up delay, it's a device start-up delay like after pressing the power button, just keyboard back light blinks once and nothing will happen and it's taking 35 to 40 seconds (earlier it's 1 to 3 seconds) after pressing the power button to show Lenovo UEFI screen along with Windows loading animation (this boot-up is quick like earlier versions about 5 to 7 seconds). Re-installed the complete OS (clean install) and re-installed the BIOS (Version BACNA0WW and BIOS date 07/15/2016). But nothing helps. Changed to earlier version of windows with clean install (the one with creators update, but issue not resolved.) Formatted complete drive and cleared all partitions (including OEM) and installed on a fresh partition, re-flashed BIOS, but nothing helps. Later I thought about hardware issue. Opened laptop, removed display connector, cleaned and attached, but issue not resolved. So, it's not a new Windows issue and It might be a problem with BIOS and it needs to be updated. Since my laptop is mote than 3 years old, Lenovo probably don't bother about updating this BIOS. Any solution that I missed? Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
Very strange problem with my IE7 on Win XP system (Fujitsu Siemens laptop Xi1546 btw).

Basically, so far ive only noticed it on those 2 sites but essentially the problem is, certain links on the site, when clicked, do nothing.
Youtube for e.g. the videos always have a 10 minute delay before they load. Regardless of time of day, whether im using GB youtube servers, or the kind of video, OR even if i change go home and use my home internet, same problem: 10 minute delay before the video loads. This must mean a setting which has gone awry? Metacafe works fine and it also uses Shockwave so why does my laptop hate youtube?
Also if i click to change servers on youtube, e.g. choose youtube UK, IE just 'loads' the page but stays stuck. Other websites work fine so its not a temporary lack of internet thats causing this.

Facebook is really bad and has the same 'loading but stuck problem.' I post messages on walls and it stays stuck but if i click profile, that loads instantly and it says ive posted..? I cant goto the groups page, or events, it just stays stuck and wont load. ive had this problem for about a couple of months..

overall i think its a setting for my IE, but what do you think? really appreciate help, really fed up.

I have tried to fix this but to no avail. This is a list of what I have tried (I probably forgot a few things):

- run IE9 with no add-ons
- run IE9 in 64bit mode
- tried the above 2 in safe mode
- deleted the registry keys corresponding to Spybot, even though it's not installed
- uninstalled and reinstalled IE9
- "regsvr32 actxprxy.dll" in an admin cmd
- reset to default settings in the advanced tab
- tried with GPU rendering on and off
- ran Malwarebytes and found nothing

I have a Q9400, 8GB RAM, Radeon 6850, and a SSD for my W7x64 Ultimate; so my computer is blistering fast. Any more ideas? Thanks

I am building a new Haswell PC here on the right coast of the US, and need to ship it to the owner on the left coast - built, tested, and loaded.

Has anyone done this and have any tips to try and get it to it's destination in working condition?

The owner is fairly mechanically inclined, but has never worked inside a PC before, so I am wary of what I can ask her to do.
My main concern is we are considering a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO, and I am concerned about the height of this thing creating enough leverage to tear the socket out if there was a jolt. I've considered removing it and then trying to walk her through installing it at her end but I'm not sure this is the best plan.
Or we could just stick with the stock heatsink and fan and not deal with the EVO.

Any experiences and tips would be appreciated!

Well if it was me I would get bunch of static free bubble wrap and stuff the inside of case so things don't move then wrap outside of case put in box then get bigger box and put more wrap between the two boxes. That should protect everything then make sure you put insurance on it for a value twice the amount of the package. Forgot to say to mark the box this side up so motherboard is on bottom of box.

I've had good luck with HP computers, and recently ordered a new EliteDesk. The problem is, I paid a premium for next-day delivery. The unit was shipped from Texas (to Northern California) on May 25th. It is now May 31st, and I don't have it yet. FedEx dropped the ball and failed to deliver it today, and they say I'll have it tomorrow -- but in the course of my discussion with them, they said it was shipped GROUND. Because it was shipped ground, I am certainly entitled to a refund on the premium shipping charge that was billed to my credit card. But here's the real problem: As far as I can tell, there is NO page on the HP website that provides a phone number I can use to call and complain about this. I have looked and looked and looked. I would love it if some kind person would provide a customer support phone number so I can call and explain the problem to them. Or even a URL of the web page that has a phone number. I do quite understand that large corporations don't want to hear from customers after they have made a sale ... but in this case, if I don't get a commitment from HP to rescind the charge for next-day shipping, I'll have to have my Visa cancel the entire payment for the computer, and then where will we be? It will be a headache for everybody. So how about a phone number, eh?

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details). If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forum.

A:shipping time

@Jm567? Typical time to build a "CTO"  Custom-to-Order system is two weeks. Even the "two week" time frame is dependent on the type of system being built.  For example, if the parts for your particular system are not available at the time your order is processed, there may be a delay. Although we at the Community forum cannot help you with the details on your order, you can certainly contact HP if you have concerns. Open the email titled "Your HP Order H### has been received" (replace the ### with your order number). Scroll to the bottom > look for and click "My Order Status". If you do not have the email described, or if your email lacks the contact link, you can contact HP through one of the links that are available in your email (there should be at least one). When you see a Post that helps you,Inspires you, provides fresh insight,Or teaches you something new,Click the "Thumbs Up" on that Post. Click my Answer Accept as Solution to help others find Answers.

As we dont know which method you selected, or what your zip code is its hard to confirm if you are correct.

But Ebay say "Shipping services and rates available for shipping to United States.
All prices include any packaging and handling fees charged by the seller.", so if you selected correctly, the answer is no, ask for an explanation.

Hello everyone. I have searched far and wide on the internet for a solution to this problem, but have yet to find anything. I know about the problems at Digital River with the downloadable student editions. I am more concerned with the Discs I paid $13 extra to have shipped to me.

I was supposed to receive a confirmation e-mail when they shipped. That was exactly two weeks ago, which to me means they still have not shipped. I have tried contacting Digital River (twice) by their customer support form, but have not had any luck with that.

I'm frustrated beyond belief and have no idea what to do. I guess I could just download the .ISO, but the problem with that is then I still lose $13.

Does anyone have any idea what I should do, other than wait some more and eventually give up?
