Preferred Solution: AdwCleaner keeps finding delta homepage

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: AdwCleaner keeps finding delta homepage

Check if the link to Chrome is not corrupt ( roght-click>propreties then is the path to the program : c:/Program file (x86)/Google/Chrome/Chrome.exe" <= verify that is blanc after chrome.exe (the patch to chrome may be different.)

The same homepage [http://www.delta-homes.com] on all browsers - IE, Firefox and Chrome. This issue appeared few hours ago, just like that. I've been trying to do something with it since then. It's not a matter of changing the homepage; nor simple add-ons to browsers, nor programs visible (and removable) in Control Panel. It's much more persistent and hard to remove or even find. It's not the same as "Delta Search" or "Delta Search Toolbar", it's much worse. No anti-malware or anti-virus program seem to be able to detect it. Since I've really run out of ideas, I believe You are my last chance to get rid of that annoying malware.

Thanks in advance!

I scanned my PC (Windows 8.1) with AdwCleaner and it found this stuff in my browsers:

-\\ Mozilla Firefox v30.0 (en-US)

[ Plik : C:\Users\zzz\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ulybqgjj.default\prefs.js ]

-\\ Google Chrome v36.0.1985.125

[ Plik : C:\Users\zzz\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\preferences ]

When I try to delete them, AdwCleaner removes them successfully but then they show up again in the next scan. Is this something to worry about? I'm not very tech savvy and wanted to be sure.

A:AdwCleaner keeps finding these two

Those two are not files that are removed. They are the locations in your 2 browsers that AdwCleaner scanned for adware.

Are you having a problem with adware....browser/ search engine redirects/ hijacking....popups?

Hi- I'm hoping you can help me.... I run Adwcleaner and keep getting the following result, even after cleaning and rebooting.  I have tried running combofix, norton power eraser, junkware removal tool, combo fix, Norton full system scan, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware with "rootkit scan" option checked, Sophos virus removal tool, Emsisoft Emergency Kit, Emsisoft online scanner,  Eset... .... and I'm sure more!!  Pretty much everything I could find on these forums.  The only software that detects this issue is Adwcleaner. All the other programs display "no viruses found."  Is it an issue?  Help!! Thank so much in advance.

A computer at my job has several pieces of adware on it, most notably the Premier Opinion adware. I ran Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner and BitDefender Free twice, but the adware seems to still be present. I am currently running Eset Online Scanner but it seems to crash at about 60%. Resource Monitor says Eset is running normally, but it does not respond and it's GUI elements get a black border around most of them, similar to when a program crashes and the GUI does not respond. When Eset "crashes" it reports 10 infections found. I turned off BitDefender free while Eset was running, since Eset warns of a conflict with it, but that may have caused the problem. I noticed something was wrong when I saw that the search engines AdwC deleted from Chrome were there again at the next scan. Same thing with Mbam, it found more after it had done its Threat Scan. I have every log AdwC and Mbam created.

I have PeoplePC as my dial-up ISP and as of late there have been problems that have been happening more and more frequently that have made my surfing experience very unfriendly.

Half the time I go to send an email using my Outlook Express there will be a delay of anywhere from 15 to 30 or more seconds while it says something about CONNECTING or FINDING host. Eventually... It will send the email.

Same thing when surfing. Sometimes I will click on a link and NOTHING will happen. No hourglass... absolutely nothing and then finally, the page will start to load in.

Now... It's not a case where the page is slow to load after it is found. It seems like my PC has all this damn searching to do to find the damn site. I am very frustrated over this.

Some would suggest that this is part of the reality of having a dial-up connection but I have had dial-up for over 7 years and have had nothing like this occur nor as often.

Does this sound like it's an ISP issue? Or my PC? especially the email issue where it waits for sometimes up to 45 seconds while it looks for the host.

Just wondering if changing my ISP will fix this?

Thanks in advance

DAVID

Most likely changing your ISP will be the best solution. Is Broadband available in your area??

Using Google Chrome I thought Delta Search was some sort
of update (silly old silver surfer!) Read about deleting this in
Computeractive Magazine wouldnt delete so deleted Chrome
altogether. My query is what is Delta Search as I experienced
no problems while using this. Gone back to IE but oh so slow !
My laptop runs Google Chrome with no sign of Delta Search so
I presume I was at fault for its presence on my desktop !

Click on this link to download : ADWCleaner Click on the Download Now button and save it to your desktop.

NOTE: If using Internet Explorer and you get an alert that stops the program downloading click on Tools > Smartscreen Filter > Turn off Smartscreen Filter then click on OK in the box that opens. Then click on the link again.

Close your browser and double click on this icon on your desktop:

You will then see the screen below, click on the Scan button (as indicated), accept any prompts that appear and allow it to run, it may take several minutes to complete, when it is done click on the Clean button, accept any prompts that appear and allow the system to reboot. You will then be presented with the report, Copy & Paste it into your next post.

thanks,

A:msi k7n2 delta

Check your cooling and temperatures. At 166Mhz, the CPU will be running hotter and may be crashing. Also, if have more than one stick of RAM, then try one stick at a time - one could be faulty.

Is the RAM Kingston by chance? You may need a BIOS update.

Ok, I have a K7N2 Delta-L mobo and love msi. I was checking on kingston memory for this board and didn't find any listing on their web site so I called those fine folks.
They stated that they don't support that board with their memory because the Nforce chipset is not stable. Has anyone had any troubles with that? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks...

The Nforce2 boards are a little rough on memory at default settings in dual channel mode, the fix for this is just to bump the vdimm voltage up one notch.

As far as being unstable, the tech who told you this is out of his gourd.

Hello TSF,

I am having this irritating problem that didn't even get fixed after reinstalling windows, well it simply reappeared immediately, I am not sure which program is possibly causing this since I didn't notice the problem after installing any specific program.
The browsers keep on changing its homepage to this site:-

removed link

I uninstalled some programs that I couldn't identify also the shortcuts keep on changing targets to:-

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" removed link

And for firefox:-

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" removed link

It happens a lot (I keep changing the homepage back and removing the link from the target) I use firefox all the time and sometimes the browser simply closes and changes the homepage to delta-homes.

I even typed this thread twice o.o

I hope you could find a permanent solution and a way to prevent this.

It will let me for about 15 minutes, but then will crash both computers off the server. I have tried DMZ'ing one of the computers and have also tried port triggering and forwarding using 17478. Do you have two copies of the game? If not it could be that Novalogic sees two PCs using the same copy of the game and therefor boots you.

@thegeekaid: You want to be infected? Well go to the third party download repository like CNET, Brothersoft and others where installer contains numerous bundled toolbars or possible PUP.

A:Can't get rid of this Delta toolbar.

I ran a program that said I had 533 errorsOK -First question, What is the name of this program ?? Now -Please download Rkill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) to your desktop. There are 2 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.You only need to get one of these to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.rKill.exe: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/10/iExplore.exe (renamed rKill.exe): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/11/* Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.* A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.* If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.* Do not reboot until instructed.*  Do not reboot your computer after running RKill as the malware programs will start again.* If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.If normal mode still doesn't work, run the tool from safe mode. When the scan is done Notepad will open with rKill log.Post it in your next reply.NOTE. rKill.txt log will also be present on your desktop.  Now -Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free (aka MBAM)* Double-click MBAM -setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.* At the end, be sure to Check for Updates to be so it is current* If an update is found, it will do... Hi soule2souleSorry for the delay in response to your thread. Please take note of the following:1. Please do not run any other tools unless instructed.2. The cleaning process is not instant. Please continue to review my answers until I tell you that your computer is clean.3. If there's anything that you don't understand, please ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.4. Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.I see from your other thread that it was suggested that you may have a 'Zero Access' infection..... let's check for that.Step 1Please disable Windows Defender... it is known to interfere with our fixes.Normally Avast would have disabled this when installed as it may conflict.Click Start >> Programs >> Windows Defender or launch from the system tray icon.Click on Tools & Settings >> Options.Under Real-time protection options, uncheck the "Real-time protection" check box.Click Save.Go to Start >> Control Panel >> Security >> Windows Defender, at the bottom of the Window Defenders page uncheck under Administrator Options "use Windows Defender" and then Save.RecommendationI am reading some unfavourable things about Anvi Smart Defender plus it may well conflict with the rest of your security.I recommend this is uninstalled.Step 2For x32 bit systems download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop. <<<< ImportantDouble-click the downloaded icon to run the tool. When the tool opens click... Let me begin by saying that I am NOT experienced with computers, and that I have been blessed with two preteens that love to play games on the internet and download random crap that has led me here. I was having problemswith Google Chrome, and wanted to switch to Firefox. I uninstalled Chrome but when attempting to download Firefox, I was "told" that my computer was incompatable. (It's an old Vista piece of crap) so I reinstalled Chrome. When it was finished, I realized that when I got online, three tabs opened, one for Chrome, one a new tab, and the third was Delta Search. I'm always careful to read everything before downloading anything, because theres always a hidden toolbar or something else that I don't want. Now, I've gone into the control panel, don't see anything related to Delta or Yontoo, went to Internet Explorer to manage add ons, that didn't work...it just won't go away! what to do, what to do? Any advice will be helpful!!!

It appears you didn't attach the second dds log, Attach.txt, to your initial post.

Press the Windows "logo" key and "R" key then copy/paste the following into the Run box and click OK:

%temp%\attach.txt

A text file should open. Save it to your desktop then attach that file to your next reply.

It also appears you didn't attach the gmer log.

Please delete any existing copies of gmer. Please run this renamed version of gmer:

Download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here and Save it to your Desktop. Double-click gmer.exe to run it. If asked to allow gmer.sys driver to load, please consent.
First, gmer will run a short, initial scan.
If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run scan...click on NO.
