Trojan horse BackDoor.Ircbot.DME & Trojan horse Downloader.Zlob

Q: Trojan horse BackDoor.Ircbot.DME & Trojan horse Downloader.Zlob

Hello,

This is my first post here. Hopefully, this will resolve my problems.

According to AVG Anti-Virus, I have these Trojan horses, neither of which is not "healable." There is a virus called "Virus identified exploit" that I noticed in the AVG Virus Vault as well. How can I fix these issues? Might it help to mention that the latter has been in the Vault since October 5, 2007 (I only noticed it now, when I was running a scan, but I-or the laptop-run scans often). The first Trojan since March 6, 2008 and the second trojan, since today.

Attached is my HJT Log. I did attempt to complete a Panda ActiveScan but an "Update error" prevents it, saying "Sorry, updating is incomplete due to an error. Please try again." I've tried several times to re-update but my attempts have been futile.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

HELLO, this is my first time posting at your site but has has follow your responses to other while reseaching software and problems on the google search page. Your answers and instructions has been of geat use and help to me.Recently my computer started to run slow and I started seeing pop ups and messages saying my computer was infected. I checked my Avg Anti Virus and found seven items in the quarantine folder. The items were listed as Trojan Horse Generic 4.BO and a Trojan Horse Downloader Zlob.mcq. I ran Ad Aware and it found sever items mostly cookies and Zango, which was removed. I then ran another scan and it came up clean. I ran a Panda Active scan and it found more infections.I have included the report with my HiJack log. I had a problem running a panda scan until I notice a registry cleaner was blocking me from loading active x program needed by Panda. I was able to uninstall the program. I installed Spybot and and it found even more infections such as Hot box, freeze.com and a registry change. At this point I now know I have a serious problem. Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language jre-6-windows-i586.exe and save to your desktop. Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser. Anyone know how to get rid of this? I found it yesterday on my computer with AVG, and it healed it. Now today it detected two more infections even though the original was deleted. It seemed to have infected svchost.exe. What do I do? Here's my HijackThis log:

Note, it doesn't seem to be doing anything physical (popups, slow performance, etc) other than coming up on AVG. My internet provider also suspended my internet yesterday as they were getting attacked from me.

I'd like help ASAP, it seems to be "reproducing" even though I delete the virus.

I've picked up a nasty Trojan horse BackDoor.Ircbot.LWM virus.

I did a search on this forum and found no threads referring to Ircbot.LWM.

My web browsers (IE 7 & Firefox 2) continually get hijacked to random sites; my Norton continually blocks intrusion attempts from unsafe sites, and ID's the location AVG says the attack resulted from "system32\svchost.exe"

I also fear my system restore points are all now corrupted ? I turned that off when I originally found the virus and started trying to get rid of it, but when I installed the Norton software it must have turned my "system restore" back on, and I think they're now all from since this virus was on my system.

And, I regularly have kept my Microsoft updates downloaded ? but now when I go to the site I get:

Error number: 0x80072EFF]
The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.

I had been using AVG free virus software. I had been using AVG free v. 9 when the attack started, & it alerted me to intrusion attempts.

It finds this virus, but cannot remove it, from:

"C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe (240):\memory_00400000";"Trojan horse BackDoor.Ircbot.LWM";"Object is inaccessible."
The # in parentheses changes whenever re-install & use AVG to search for it.

I tried Malware's free software, Spybot, Spymaster (in normal & safe modes... Read more

I am, apparently, infected with the Trojan horse BackDoor.Ircbot.LWMI know there are other threads on this. I tried to use some of their fixes as outlined below, and did not get a solution. If I am supposed to post my stuff here to one of those threads, please let me know. This virus continues to act and hijack my web browsers ? especially when I click on links from any Google search ? and only one software program I've used finds it on my system, AVG free version 9.0, but it can't remove it.AVG finds the file:"C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe (1424):\memory_00400000";"Trojan horse BackDoor.Ircbot.LWM";"Object is inaccessible.""C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe (1424)";"Trojan horse BackDoor.Ircbot.LWM";""& the number in parentheses changes with each running of the AVG.Norton (which I installed after this attack started), however, notes it's blocking intrusion attempts.I don't know if this is related, but I regularly update Microsoft with all patches, etc. (except upgrading to IE 8) ? but at the same time I became aware of this TrojanHorse, I couldn't access the Microsoft Update page ? I only get Error number: 0x80072EFF& " The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view."This happened BEFORE I downloaded Norton Security (see below) & continues. My computer/ops info: Dell Dimension 3000 ? Hello, how many AV's are active on here now?About the infection found.Rootkits, backdoor Trojans, Botnets, and IRC Bots are very dangerous because they compromise system integrity by making changes that allow it to by used by the attacker for malicious purposes. Rootkits are used by Trojans to conceal its presence (hide from view) in order to prevent detection of an attacker's software and make removal more difficult. Many rootkits can hook into the Windows 32-bit kernel, and patch several APIs to hide new registry keys and files they install. They can disable your anti-virus and security tools to prevent detection and removal. Remote attackers use backdoors as a means of accessing and taking control of a computer that bypasses security mechanisms. This type of exploit allows them to steal sensitive information like passwords, personal and financial data which is send back to the hacker. I got a pop-up on a poker site I was playing on saying someone else had logged in under my username, so I did a scan with AVG and it came up with this? AVG healed it, do I have anything still to worry about? It was in a .rar that I downloaded about 5 months ago and I've not had problems up until now. I haven't noticed anything wrong with my system. If it was a keylogger wouldn't something have happened before now? The weird thing was, earlier by mistake I typed my password into the "username" field on the poker site and it appeared on the screen then within an hour someone had tried to use it! Is it possible for someone to see my screen with a trojan like this?

I have performed scans with AVG, AdAware 2007 and Spybot S&D which have found nothing so apologies if I'm worrying about nothing. I had a previous experience with a virus which I thought was gone so I want to make sure this time. I play a lot of poker online so I want to make sure it's gone before I play again so my funds are not compromised. I have also installed SnoopFree should this help?

Thanks in advance. Here is the log with the extra one attached.

Anybody know anything about trojan horse downloader .Zlob.WEN? What kind of information can it steal off a computer? How does it get on somebody's computer? It was detected by AVG free edition 7.5 during a virus check I did recently. It was put into quarantine in the virus vault. I deleted the file it had infected, since it couldn't be repaired, and after running the scan again it came up as not being on my computer any longer. The stupid thing is that even though AVG originally detected the trojan, it couldn't tell me anything about it when I tried to research it with their malware encyclopedia. Thanks for any help anybody can give me.

Trojan horse Patched_c.LXT
Trojan horse BackDoor.Generic15.AXLA
Trojan horse Generic28.ANIC

Hello,

My AVG has found multiple threats on my laptop that cannot be removed. This is what pops up on my screen,

AVG Resident Shield Alert
!Multiple threat detection

c:\Windows\System32\services.exe - Trojan horse Patched_c.LXT - Object is white-listed (critical/system file that should not be removed)

c:\Windows\assembly\GAC_32\Desktop.ini - Trojan horse BackDoor.Generic15.AXLA - Infected

c:\Windows\assembly\GAC_64\Desktop.ini - Trojan horse Generic28.ANIC - Infected

I've tried everything in my knowledge to fix this but have had no success. I've tried researching online but I keep getting redirected to different sites. I followed your NEW INSTRUCTIONS before posting and have included the requested logs in this post (I hope they attached). I do not have access to a Windows Install Disc or Boot CD, I don't know why but my laptop did not come with one when I purchased it last year. I figured I would give you a try first before doing anything else. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me.

Thank you,

Jorge

Firstly, thank you so much for enabling people like us to be able to speak to someone for free! It is really appreciated.

I have been having trouble with my computer for a while now, firstly it displayed anti-spyware scans while on the internet (saying there were harmful files on my comp). Since then when i click a topic on google after searching for something it goes to the same site. I have AVG and it has found the file named in the title of this thread but it doesnt clear the files infected.

I'm new to this site so im hoping the hijack log copies below.

Hello

Like many people at the moment i seem to have the Trojan horse downloader Zlob AHRZ. avg, spybot, zonealarm and ad-aware all stopped updating. Windows updater gets error code 80244019 'unknown error'. a friend gave me ad-aware but it didnt help and i have since deleted it, and also deleted zone alarm. i now just have avg free edition and windows firewall. avg identified the trojan after i got a newer version on a disk from another pc, though it still wont update. i will not be able to back up the whole system until sunday as i have no extra hard drive, until then.

further to this, im sorry but i tried downloading "dds.scr" from the newbies instructions on this site, to produce a log for you, but my pc recognises it as an autocad script file. i deleted autocad, but to no avail. all that happens is that it brings up notepad with a load of gibberish in it. my pc does not give an option to run the file at all. I guess i have two problems ha ha.

I hope you can help, i noticed you have successfully helped remove other people's problems with this same Trojan. i have had every friend who claims to know about pcs round, cooked many pies, and still have a problem. it would be great to stick it all to them with my no training, and if you live near manchester uk theres one helluva chicken pie in it for you...

thanks

Robin J

Today I Installed AVG free 8.0 on my Windows Vista computer(the one I'm using now). It found a trojan horse downloader.zlob.HTML infection. When I try to heal it, AVG says that removing it forcefully could crash my computer. I don't want it to crash! What should I do?Windows defender can't see it, even when it scans the exact place the virus is said to be in by AVG.It also found 725 warnings(all tracker cookies... whatever those are).Do I hit No, then remove it as power user, or what? I'm good with computers(VERY good actually), but I'm kinda Iffy when theres a possibility of it crashing. The virus was found here by the way:C:\Users\AnnMarie\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Inernet Files\Low\Content.IE5\SA5K3DTL\movie1[1].htmUPDATE TO PRIOR INFO:It was removed, so nevermind I guess. I used to think that I knew quite a bit about how to properly maintain a healthy computer. But that was until my laptop became infested with these trojans and whatever else they are. It started out with a couple notifications from my AVG and this was not out of the ordinary. My internet started acting up and booting me offline every 30 minutes or so. Then the websites that I was trying to look at were "redirected" to http://bts.scour.com/index.html?3. I thought I'd be smart and block bts.scour.com in my Internet Options but it simply chose another route. So I blocked that site. Then it sent in another reroute site. These sites remind me of popups or those annoying "scan your computer for faster service" sites. Y'know the ones that would entice you to scan your computer and make you believe there was something wrong with your computer, but there wasn't.(that is until you scanned with their program and it would take control of your computer at the worst of times.) The Trojan Horse Back Door Generic 15 made its entrance right after the "bt.scour" did. AVG 's only option was to ignore it, but I still wasnt worried.Everytime I blocked at redirect, the more intense the attack on my computer became. I gradually lost control of my computer. When I thought I should check Windows firewall, it was to late for any security measures. It was turned off and when I tried to turn it back on, it would give me an error(0x8000ffff). It wou... Hi, I recently found that my laptop is infected with the Trojan horse Downloader.Zlob.AHRZ.This was reported by AVG 8 (free) as being an infection in
C:\Windows\System32\msqpdxxcrdxrei.dll. The symptoms are that when I do online searches I am directed away from the site I want to look at. In addition I seem to be unable to update AVG, Windows, Windows Defender or Spyware Doctor. I downloaded the last one to try and cure the problem but after identifying a Trojan Horse DNS changer, every time it cleans it up the infection comes back. Thanks for your help. Hi Techsuportforum,

My AVG software revealed that I have had two trojan horses (Trojan horse Generic17.CFLH & Trojan horse Downloader Generic9.BXWQ) on my PC since 5/21. Aside from occasionally not being able to properly "shut down", the PC seems to be working fine. Nevertheless, I'd like to get rid of the trojans.

The GMER scan failed with a blue sreen of death twice, but seemed to complete successfully on the third try, albeit quickly. The completed scan took only 2-3 minutes (250GB disk w/ 100GB free)!?

I have access to a Windows XP install disc, and have the WIndows XP Recovery Console available to select at boot-up.

Any help/advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated!

Trojan Horse Downloader.Zlob.QE
Virus identified Worm/VB.CC
Virus identified Java/ByteVerify

I have scanned PC with Ad-Aware, but it hasn’t found anything.
I have switched to firefox and removed IE and MSNE from windows components
Added zonealarm (it blocks intruders. I didn’t realize that there is so many connecting to my pc)

I am still getting system warnings from notification area. And consequently pop up IE adds. How come in IE if it is not installed anymore?

I would be very thankful if you could help.

Hello,

The new Antispyware Strike and Downloader.Zlob has got me.
I thought it was never going to happen to me. I keep getting pop ups on my desktop, I even got my IE with a new toolbar called "Security Tools" or so. I keep getting the annoying balloons appearing on my systray stating that my computer is infected. I get one systray icon that looks like the windows update one, and I also get the other systray icon that looks like the triangle yellow shape.

I ran MS Antispyware, NV, even I got EZFW, but it was useless. I'm running Win XP SP2 latest updates installed from windows update.

Would anybody help me?

Gracias,

Romayn.

I was on an imageboard last night when things went wrong. I close my internet down to discover fake antivirus software running on ym computer. I have quarantined the Zlob in the virus vault of Avg and have run both HJT and Smitfraud. here are both logs. (Note: the smitfraud log is one from a scan in NORMAL mode, not safe mode, if that makes a difference):

Both of these trojans found through AVG. First, Backdoor.Generic11.BBDE a couple of weeks ago, now Crypt.HOS. All moved to Virus Vault except for file c:\windows\system32\drivers\asyncmac.sys; AVG states object is white-listed (critical system file not to be removed). I Goggled to research these and it's made me worried/parnoid about all the banking and bill paying I do online. One site said to change all passwords via another computer. Should I? I've gone through my Add/Remove Programs and do not see anything unusual installed.

I have a Dell Desktop Dimension 2400 40GB hard drive, 1 GB RAM, Windows XP Pro Version 2002 SP3, Intel Pentium 4 2.66 GHz.

I installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled three times Malwarebytes Anti-malware and keep getting "Error 703, 0, 13".

My Hijack This log follows. Any help and advice is much appreciated.
