Windows 7 compatibility printer issue

Q: Windows 7 compatibility printer issue

Do you know if Windows 7 is compatible with Dell's 922 AIO printer? I cannot get it to fully install and print, either with the CD that came with the printer or by downloading from the Dell's web site...Please help my Mom!! Thx

Preferred Solution: Windows 7 compatibility printer issue

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Windows 7 compatibility printer issue

Looks like its not compatible. See here -> http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?type=Hardware&s=922%20AIO

You can use the Windows 7 Compatiblility web site to verify software & hardware.

I own a hp deskjet f4288 all in one printer. The software for this is not compatible with the version of windows I use.
I've a windows 7 34 bit premium os.I do not want to download a pirated version so please suggest how to get the appropriate software and use my printer again.

A:Solved: printer software compatibility issue

Here is the support site for the HP Deskjet F4288 All-In-One printer.

It has a full-feature software driver package for Windows 7(32-bit) and Windows 7(64-bit). All you need to do is download and save the file, close all open windows, turn on the printer, double-click the saved file to start the install process, connect the USB cable from the printer to the computer when prompted to, then follow the instructions from there.

If you still have a software driver package installed from an older Windows version, you need to uninstall it and then restart your computer first.

Hi can anyone please help. My mother in law has downloaded windows 10 then has had problems with her printer a Dell Photo All-in-One Printer 924, v. G6, A00. She's had an error to do with the print spooler so I've tried removing the printer, adding it as well as . Is it because windows 10 isn't compatible and we need to basically bin the printer, or is there a work around maybe revert back to windows 8 (if she still has this).? Thanks in advance

A:Windows 10 printer compatibility

That model printer cannot run in windows 10. There are no windows 10 drivers for the old model. Good news is that printers are cheap now. It's the ink that provides the profit.  Buy your mom a new all in one.

Hello, I upgraded my GPU to a GeForce GT 710 about a month ago. Soon after I realized that the rest of my computer needed to be upgraded. Got a new MB, MEM, and CPU to compensate, details listed on profile. Well after all of that, I found out about the offer for a free upgrade to Windows 10, did a system check and it found that my GPU is not up to par for them. So I went to the store and they were puzzled that the current GPU was not compatible, told me to uninstall my drivers and reinstall using ones downloaded from the internet. Check, still no success. So I bought a GT 730, which has Windows 10 all over it and thought no issue. Installed it, current drivers, device manager lists the GT 730 and not the 710. The compatibility manager for the free upgrade is still saying I have a GT 710 installed.

I have literally ran out of ideas other than putting back in the old GPU, uninstall it, put back in the new one and install it all over again.

Any ideas or suggestions? Please let me know.

I tried upgrading an HP Omni 27-1054 from Windows 7 to Windows 10.  Now it cycles through two error messages "WDF volation" and "inaccessible boot device," shuts down and cyces again.  Microsoft techs tell me that the HP is missing necessary drives and that this is not Microsoft's problem.  Does this sound right?  Has anyone else had this problem?  Any known solutions?

A:Windows 10 compatibility issue

Greetings, Have you tried downloading the Media Creation Tool, then run the tool to create Win 10 install media for your PC. Run the USB or DVD boot media created using the tool and try the upgrade again. You should be able to also do a clean install by using the Win 7 product key found on your PC. Make sure you have a Win 7 restoration plan in place such as: data backup, HP Factory recovery discs or a recent system image backup and bootable rescue media as insurance. Win 7 to Win 10 upgrades can be problematic as you have already experienced. I have taken a Win 8.1 HP to Win 7 because I really like Win 7. Was also in the Win 10 Beta tester program since November 2014 and am not a big fan of Win 10. Cheers!

Hello forum, a couple of days ago windows 7 decided, upon no special event what so ever (i just moved AutoCAD window), that AutoCAD needs automatic compatibility forced (worked just fine with no issues what so ever). I got that "program did not work properly and i will apply automatic compatibility on the next use" message. No way of telling it screw you leave everything as it is.

Since then i had some performance issues with AutoCAD. Is there any way to get it out of that damn automatic compatibility?

Hello TheTrooper, and welcome to Seven Forums.

The tutorial below can help show you how to disable the "Program Compatibility Assistant" in Windows to prevent it from happening again in the future.Program Compatibility Assistant - Enable or Disable
Next, check using OPTION THREE in the tutorial below to look in the registry to see if there may be a string value entry for the AutoCAD program in the Layers key at both registry locations. If so, then you can delete (step 5) the string value for the AutoCAD program. You may need to restart the PC to apply afterwards.Compatibility Mode

Try formatting the USB to FAT32 first. I recommend the slow format.

Note: Everything on the USB will be erased. So if you need it, copy it off first.

Equipment used and configurations:

Windows 7 ultimate

Belkin N+ gigabit router

Is this a router related problem or is my Windows 7 not properly configured? It seems connecting the router in between the PC and modems cuts my bandwidth to 1/3. No other programs are running when tests were made.

A:Internet slowing down. Router or compatibility issue with windows 7? H

I've had router problems such as yours and the fix was a new router. You can try reloading the router or if there is a firmware update for the router try that but I would suspect the router is the problem.

I've had a lot of problems (in client's systems) with Belkin products. I use and recomment LinkSys (Cisco) routers. The local cable company tech says they see less problems with LinkSys routers than other brands.

Having procured an on-line download of Windows 8, from the Microsoft web site, I am a little concerned about an incompatibility identified by the Microsoft Upgrade Assistant; namely:-

"Bluetooth Win7 Suite (64) - Atheros Communications"

This incompatibility was identified after restoration of a copy of the Windows 7 operating system, as installed by the manufacturer of my PC! (Recovered from an Acronis image).

That is, the operating system, prior to installation of any personal software, or external hardware, or divers!

Hence, I can only assume, that "Bluetooth Win7 Suite (64)" is a sub component of one of the original components of the computer:

ASUS P8Z68-V LE Motherboard
NVIDIA Quadro 600 1024MB Professional Video Card
Intel i7 2600K Processor (3.4 GHz - no over-clocking)
16GB Corsair PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3 Memory (4x4 GB sticks)
Qty 2 Sony 24x DVD-RW drives
Qty 2 120GB Corsair Force 3 SSD (No Raid)
Qty 1 1000GB 7200 HDD
Onboard High Definition Audio

My plan was to perform a clean installation of Windows 8, but I have no understanding what the implications of this incompatibility will be!

Namely, what the function of Bluetooth Win7 Suite (64), is! And what hardware it is associated with!

Whether a clean installation will work, without Bluetooth Win7 Suite (64)

Whether Windows 8 install will have onboard drivers, for all of the above hardware!

After installation of Windows 8, and installation of the manufactures latest driver... Read more

You can always install Windows 8 to VHD - you will need say 20-30 GB on any internal disk (no separate partition).

Once booted to Windows 8 you will see if all drivers for your hardware were found and installed.
If some driver is missing - go to manifacturer site and look for an updated version of the driver.

VHD installation has only one difference to native installation - disk is virtual.

Once you are happy (found all needed drivers) you can either transfer VHD installation to native disk partition or make a completely new native installation of Windows 8 to disk. I would install Windows 8 to one of the SSD's.

Hi everyone,

Not sure if this thread should be here or in the Intenet / Network area but here goes.
Been using Microsoft Broadband Network Utility MN 500 on my system close to a year now & the network adapter on my laptop and everything was running beautifully.

However since I've installed service pack 2 on both computers, my laptop only stays online for about 5 - 10 minutes and loses connection with the network.

I've uninstalled & reinstalled Microsoft Broadband Network Utility, I've also tried the wireless network wizard service pack 2 offers but still the same results 5 - 10 minutes & lose connection

I know there is compatiblity issues between Microsoft Broadband Network Utility & Service Pack 2 but has anyone heard of any fixes out there ?

I don't want to have to unistall service pack 2, I'm hoping someone knows of some sort of patch ?

Thanks in advance for your help !!

A:Windows XP Service Pack 2 Compatibility Issue with MS Broadband Network Utility

Look for a patch for MBNU and SP2 If you cannot find one go here http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=884130&product=windowsxpsp2 This is a list of programs that conflict with SP2
You can also go here http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;ln;xpsp2getinstall Read over carefully . If you cannot find the trouble you may try uninstalling SP2 at add/remove then reinstalling , following these directions to the letter . Uninstalling should bring your computer back to where it was before you installed SP2

Installed Windows 10 and find my Epson XP 410 printer will not work. Went to Epson and was told it was compatible if I download the drivers, etc. It was their 15730.exe which I downloaded. Went into downloads and found the file double clicking on it to install. It installs up to 82% and quits. I've waited as long as 30 minutes for it to continue with no luck. Followed steps from both Microsoft community and Epson even doing the following:
Follow the steps below on how to install driver in compatibility mode:
1. Download the driver from the manufacturer?s website and save it on your local disk.
2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select ?Properties?.
3. Select ?Compatibility? Tab.
4. Place a check mark next to ?Run this program in Compatibility mode? and select operating system from the drop down list.
5. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

My hp 4200n printer was networked to my office pc, I now have the printer in my house and am looking for advice on how to connect the printer to my pc. My pc is connected to a BT home hub by ethernet cable, my pc has only one ethernet port and no parallel port connection what kit do I need to connect them or is there a way I can connect via the home hub.

A:Printer to Pc compatibility

You have a couple of options.

Since the PC was networked at your office, I'm assuming it still has the HP JetDirect card installed. You could set the printer to an IP address for your home network and plug it into the hub. Check the printer manual for instructions on how to do this (you can probably download the manual from HP).

Even easier, buy a USB to parallel converter. One end of the cable plugs into the USB port on your PC, the other end has a "regular" printer connector that plugs into the 4200.

I have purchased HP Laptop model CQ41 loaded with Windows 7 Premium from one of the authorised outlets of HP.

I have HP Laserjet color Pinter model 3600 with USB connection and was working fine with my desktop with windos XP.

Now when I connct this printer with this Laptop , I get ICN of printer 3600 and thru device manager it also indicates it is working fine.
It indicates unsubscribed and does not print. I am also not able to make it as default printer.

This is serious problem of compatibility.
I tried to load original S/W of printer , but due to some scratch in Cd , it is not getting loaded.
From net site of HP I have tried to load software, but the message is that USB printer driver need not be loaded since computer loads by itself . This happens when I try to add a printer , means I need not add a printer ,but just put it to USB port.
What can be the problem. The USB IEEE port is selected and device manager is indicating device is working OK

Kindly let me know the solution

The printer is an old HP LaserJet P2015 connected to a Windows 7 Pro (32-bit) machine.  Every morning, when the user boots the computer up and logs in, that printer will show as an unknown device under Devices and Printers.  The actual printer
icon for the P2015 will be grayed out.  If you just turn the printer off and back on the unknown device goes away, and the P2015 icon will go back to ready.  I have tried multiple USB cable and ports on the computer and a powered USB hub.  I've
tried multiple drivers, and the only one that really wants to work is the actual HP driver for the P2015 (which took a while to find).  The HP universal print drivers all have their own quirks with it.  I've adjusted power setting for maximum efficiency,
ran sfc /scannow, ran chkdsk /r, and some other things that I cannot remember.  Is there anything I can try that I didn't list?

I can't seem to find anything about my specific problem. I had an HP PSC 2410 all-in-one series printer connected to a Dlink print server. The printer started making terrible noises when it started up, so I disconnected it and reconnected an old deskjet instead. I recently fixed the all-in-one (turned out i just needed to clean the scanning glass and mirrors), but the print server no longer powers up. Now here's the real issue:

I can't get the printer to install locally via USB port. I was finally able to delete the network printer (it kept coming back after reboot, offline), but I can' get Windows to auto-detect and install the drivers. I can't even download the drivers from the HP website because they aren't available (windows update only). I can't manually add the printer either, because the virtual USB port is unavailable. I'd really like to get this printer running again, especially because I brought it back from the dead and I really need to scanner. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Note: If you click the first link and follow it it will take you the the last link, but I provided all three just in case. However, it looks like there are no drivers from HP for your printer for Vista, just instructions on how to install "a basic driver solution" through the Vista operating system, thus you'll need to follow those instuctions to hopefully get your printer to work. Note the introduction:

A full feature software and driver package for Windows Vista is not available for your product. However, the Windows Vista operating system installed on your computer contains a basic driver solution for your product.

Afetr manually deleting the HP folders/files and downloading the relevant full HP driver I now get an installation error when trying to install the printer. I am now at a point that the PC doesn't even recognise the printer on the network and I can't install the driver. Is this something to do with the ADD/REMOVE program not being able to uninstall properly?

A:Solved: Windows XP/Printer Issue

Trying to remove a program manually is always a bad idea. You can never find everything that needs to be removed, especially in the registry. The only thing it will accomplish, is prevent further installation of the software.

If the software is still showing inside "Add or Remove Programs" chances are you might be able to remove leftovers with the free Revo Uninstaller, but I wouldn't bet on it. Still worth a try though.

I have recently upgraded my system from windows vista to windows 7. Everything seems to work fine except the printer - Dell all in one printer 922. To solve the issue, I have followed several solutions from different forums. For e.g., according to one solution (this solution seemed sensible), I have deleted the printer from my system, uninstalled all the printer driver software and have tried to use the vista 32 drivers to get my printer working. But all in vain. I have tried the process almost ten times now and I am tired. That's why I have come to this forum. Please could any one of you help me resolve this issue. Thank you in anticipation.

A:Windows 7 - Dell aio 922 Printer Issue

I had the same problem with my Dell AIO 964... Try downloading the the Patch/Upgrade .Zip file from the Dell website. When it finishes downloading open it and run the DellCleanUpUtility.exe this will delete the driver that Windows 7 automatically installed. When the Utility completes it will ask to reboot, allow it do so, then procede to install the windows vista version of your printer driver from the Dell website. Cho Yung Tea

I have a weird one that I am hoping someone can assist with,

Background Info ? 4 PCs and 3 Printers in office all Windows 7 ? One PC acts as Print Server and shares the TWO of the Three printers using Windows Homegroup. Third Printer is direct connected via USB to Bosses PC.

Problem ? On Bosses PC only ? All Shared Printers will just go offline. It is not a network issue or homegroup issue as she (the boss) can see other homegroup resources such as shared drive and Shared folders. It appears to happen after she prints to her USB printer then tries to go to a shared printer. (This is my guess, Not tested and verified).

Other Info ? No one else in office has this issue, Boss will not give up her USB printer(it is old but reliable for her), A restart of her machine sometimes fixes the problem but not always.

I am truly at a loss any help or work around would be appreciated.

A:Strange Issue with Printer and Windows 7

In an office environment, I would do away with printer sharing and simply place all of the printers on the network. Then you don't have to deal with Windows glitches and conflicts.

Hello all!

I just installed the RP and loving it. The only issue I have is that I cannot set my default printer! The option isnt even available when you right click the printer. I know from experience, if you are logged in as a temp profile, you cannot perform any actions such as this. I think I might BE logging in with a temp profile, but under users it shows my name, and administrator so Im confused. Any ideas??

I recently completed a build using Windows 7 and everything went fine except I am having a fit with my HP 1018 laserjet printer. When I try to send something to the printer it takes at least 30 minutes before it actually prints. I have visited HP's website and downloaded the driver that is supposed to work with this printer and Windows 7 but still no luck. Any words of wisdome would be greatly appreciated.
