Active Touch pen no longer works with Yoga 720

Q: Active Touch pen no longer works with Yoga 720

I got the Active Touch pen (the first one) when I got my laptop. I just changed the battery in the pen and now it isn't working. It worked up until now. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers but there's still nothing. What should I do?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I've just reinstalled Windows 10 on this laptop and the touchscreen no longer works or is recognized. The device manager does not even list a touch-device under human interface devices, and the settings app reports that Pen & Touch is unavailable. I manually installed the intel chipset and display drivers from the support pages, but it has not made any differences. Does anyone have some insight as to why this might be happening?

Hi all, I got this machine new and the symptom happened about 2 months ago. I tried disable/enable, reinstall driver, without change. Besides hardware scan shows nothing out of order. I checked here and found two relevant posts, whose solutions all point to hardware problem (Replacing screen and "LCD CROSS LINE SHORT"). So, before convincing myself that I also get a faulty device and need to have it repaired (I still have warranty), is there anything else I can/should check? Thanks!

A:X1 Yoga 3rd gen, LD20CTO, touch screen not working, active pen works. What to check?

There are 2 separate digitizers and it is certainly possible that one (static discharge digitizer for finger touch) has failed and that the Wacom device for the pen is still fine. Get it serviced.

After a month of use, the touch screen of my Inspiron 13 5000 series no longer works.
Initially, when I restarted the computer it would work again. But now this doesn't help anymore.
I went to settings > connected devices >device manager > human interface devices > HID compliant touch screen and it says "This device is working properly." I disabled and then enabled again the device but nothing changed.
Is there anything else I should do?

A:Touch screen no longer works

I'd suggest you uninstall and reinstall touch screen driver:
1. Go to device Manager, right click touch screen driver, and then uninstall. To reinstall touch screen driver, click 'Action' at the device manager taskbar, and then click "Scan For Hardware Changes".

I ran into an issue with my Yoga 720 where the screen brightness wouldn't change after a recent Windows update. I fixed the issue by changing the driver to Intel(R) HD Graphics 620 but now the pen input on my Active Pen no longer works. I tried to change the BIOS to the latest version but it seems to already be the latest version. I'm Not sure what else to try other than reverting the BIOS to an older version but I can't find any old BIOS versions. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi there, I recently purchased an HP Active Stylus to use with my HP Spectre x360 (HP Pavilion x360 - 13-u151tu). Hi,
I have Dell E2014T monitor attached to Intel NUC. Originally, the base install was Windows 7 64-bit, but due to the automatic updates it was updated to Windows 10. Obviously, it is not possible to revert operating system to Windows 7.
Nevertheless, everything worked correctly until recently, when new updates from Microsoft were automatically installed in Windows 10. Monitor works correctly, but the "click" on the touch screen does not work. Simply saying - I can move windows but cannot press any buttons.
For 100% it is not hardware fault - when attaching monitor to older laptop with Windows 8 both monitor and touch screen works properly.
I learned on the other threads that Dell states that Windows 10 is "not supported" for this monitor and recommends revert to Windows 7.
The question is - is how it can be? As Microsoft no longer supports Windows 7, and Windows 8/8.1 will be no longer supported in a year and 3 months from now, how it can be that Dell has not released any driver for MS Windows 10?
Does it mean that Dell is dropping now all users who bought this monitor?
I can understand that Dell may be dropping old and unsupported operating systems but in this case Microsoft forces all users to migrate to Windows 10, so users have no other choice than to migrate.
Can anyone in Dell take a look at this issue and release new driver for Windows 10?
Obviously, the problem is going to affect ALL USERS OF DELL E2014T MONITOR, on January 2018 the latest, as ... Read more

A:E2014T Touch Screen no longer works properly in Windows 10 after updates

Try installing the Win 8.1 drivers available Here--
www.dell.com/.../drivers
Dell is not abandoning those upgrading to 10, just cannot make new drivers for 10. Win 10 has compatible win 10 drivers for almost all hardware.
Before installing Dell drivers, try updating the ones you have by opening Device Manager and see if windows 10 has a better update.

I have a really weird but unpleasant problem with my Yoga 2 Pro. Recently the fan of my yoga 2 pro no longer starts (I do not hear the noise of running fan anymore). As a result the back of my yoga 2 pro gets very unplesantly hot and soon thereafter the windows 10 crashes with critical_process_died. I am not sure if this has anything to do with Windows 10 upgrade, since overheating became serious only afterwards, but this could be a coincidence. I downloaded the Lenovo diagnostic tools and the Yoga 2 Pro passes the memory, hdd and CPU test. There is a fan test wich states 'No fan detected'. Could someone with a Yoga 2 Pro let me know if they have a fan detected and can run a fan diagnostic test? I opened the Yoga 2 Pro and inspected the fans, the connections, everything seems fine. The fans are clean and they can spin freely. I am not sure what troubleshooting I can do next. I reduced the CPU speed in the power setting to 50 % and I can use the yoga 2 Pro without crashing for now. Any advice will be most appreciated. Thanks!

A:yoga 2 pro fan no longer works

Hey, did you get this fixed? I'm having the same problem but nothing I read seems to help. I have taken the laptop into a computer shop who mucked about and couldn't help, said the fans themselves are OK.Interestingly the fans started for a few minutes a week ago before going back to sleep so I'm almost certain it is a software issue.Any help would be sweet!

My Lenovo Yoga 920-13IKB is a 2 in 1 laptop running Windows 10 Home.  Meaning full Active S Pen and Touch screen.  After installing the Version  1909 update, it's Device Specifications (via Windows Settings) Pen and touch:  No pen or touch input is available for this display.    In Device Manager/Human Interface Devices, no HID Touch screen device or driver is available.  The Wacom Device cannot start.  I'm assuming because Version 1909 eliminated the pen and touch support. I ran a full restore of Win 10 Home (no pen or touch support found), ran a driver update scan via Lenovo.  It identified a "Touch Panel Pen Driver - 10" driver to be updated.  Update the driver and reboot and nothing has changed.  Start the Lenovo Pen Settings App and get a message that the Wacom Pen Driver is required.  Odd, since the Wacom Device won't start as stated above.  Follow the Lenovo Pen Settings link to download the Wacom Pen driver, install it, no change in functionality.  Same process before and after v1909 update with no Pen or Touch support.  It's barebones, no antivirus, firewall, anti-malware to get in the way. The machine came with a HDD partition of drivers but nothing identified as an HID touch screen.   Brett

ThinkPad Yoga 12 running windows 7.
The touch pad stops working shortly after I log on. Especially after waking from Sleep. I'll get to the login screen but I have to use my stylus to get to the username field. I can type my password with no problems, but the touch pad won't move at all.
The only fix is a reboot, but it doesn't fix it permanently.
I've updated the BIOS, downloaded the latest syaptics pointer drivers, and chipset drivers. I ran a virus scan, which came up empty.
We have several users who all got their Yoga 12's brand new in September.
Now, many of them are having this trouble with the touch pad.
Any ideas? Suggestions?

My wife got a refurbished Yoga 2 not too long ago, and it had some quirks, but I was able to get them ironed out. Now I've encountered an issue I can't seem to figure out.

The machine fires up, but the screen does not come on at all. I hooked up the mini HDMI to the TV, and am currently able to use it as a monitor.

The touch on the screen works, as I can move around the mouse using my fingers on the screen.

I've tried changing settings, check hardware manager (says functioning properly), checked for new drivers, etc.
To my knowledge there are no new things installed or anything of the sort.

Any suggestions on what to try?

Thanks in advance!

I purchased a Lenovo Yoga 730 15" i7 in early August.  For the past couple weeks the screen has started to flicker / go all gray/beige for a few seconds at a time before returning to normal.  On Sunday, the screen went gray/beige for several seconds (longest that I've seen thus far) then went black.  I tried rebooting several times, powering on/off, moving the angle of the screen - nothing worked to bring back the display.  I plugged the laptop into a 4K television via HDMI and the picture displayed perfectly.  It doesn't appear to be an issue with the GPU, at least not that I can tell. Additionally, I updated the drivers to the latest recommended and updated the BIOS to the latest version found on Lenovo's support website.  Important to note, in one of the many restarts that I did after these updates the Lenovo's loading image displayed for a brief second before Windows loaded before going back to black.  This only happened once and I couldn't reproduce it. Any ideas or thoughts as to what happened and how the situation can be remedied?  Thanks!

Today my digitizer stopped working for the first time since I purchased my Thinkpad Yoga several years ago. Touch screen still works as normal. I don't think it's software related because I dual boot Windows and Ubuntu and it doesn't work in either operating system. Before it would work in both operating systems, and I haven't had any updates since it was last working. Is it possible for the digitizer itself to be broken somehow? I haven't dropped the device or spilled any liquid on it. I've read elsewhere on the forum that the digitizer is powered by a capacitor that is charged within the laptop. Is this still true for Thinkpad Yogas? Are there steps I can take to diagnose the issue?

Long list of items that have crept up on this laptop after using it for several months. . . . The touchscreen no longer works.   I have reinstalled drivers over and over again, deleted and let windows choose the driver, and have tried everything I can think of to get it working. Yet it no longer recognizes touch at all. Bamboo Ink styles works just fine, uninstalling the associated drivers did not change anything. It slowly started to work intermittently and then just quit all together. Keyboard keys just stop working  So far some seemingly random LOWERCASE letters stop working, if I hold shift I get an uppercase just fine, or if I hit capslock it will give me the uppercase of whatever letter is not working for that day, so the button itself is fine. This has happened on several different keys completely randomly for no apparent reason what so ever. The only way to fix the issue once it occurs is to stop what you are doing and restart the computer. . . Doing so might fix it for a week or an hour. In the middle of typing or clicking, or doing anything at all it decides to "sleep"    I can be in the middle of typing something, moving the mouse to click on something, or using the stylus to take notes and without warning it will enter sleep/hibernation mode. . .  I have updated the drivers to the latest that are available, I also updated the BIOS to the latest recommended to see if that might help solve some of the issues. ISSUEThe 720 touchpad and touchscreen are the worst.  This issue started out of the box before I had even gone on line.  When the touchpad does work, the right click/left click distinction doesn't work and I have to use the screen, when it's working, for the long hold until the right click options appear. When the screen is working, the ability to close a window and touching it just the right way is dubious at best.  I've tried modifying sensitivity, etc, in the control panel, but there is no difference.   When both window and touchpad stop functioning, I plug in an old HP mouse I have, but when I'm mobile, this means running the mouse down my leg if I don't have a surface to place my laptop upon.  And it also means carrying a mouse with me everywhere I go.  My line of work is often standing and walking with clients so  not really possible in my line of work.   RETURN/REPAIR OPTIONS AREN'T OFFERED OR ARE NOT PRACTICALTo back up a bit, I attempted to return this to BestBuy, but was four days beyond the allowable return date.  I contacted Lenovo, but it's all about mailing it in or turning the laptop over and being without anything for a few days.  Hard to find those few days.  I've tried to live it, but it's been an enormous killer of productivity, not to mention incredible frustration and some embarrsassing typos.    PAST YOGA BUILD WAS GREAT - WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE 720?My last Yoga 710 wa... Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. I already tried to manually install another Wacom driver mentioned at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Wacom-Tablet-Service-for-ISD-Driver-Win... and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P40-Yoga-issues/td-p/3293985. Hello, My Thinkpad Yoga is connected to a large display through ThenkPad docking station.  Its lid is closed.   During my work, from time to time I see random touch clicks on my screen, and random opening of menus.  It is clear that the touch screen is active although the lid is closed.  When I open the lid, and still connected just to the 2nd display (large screen) display the phenomena stops.  Worth noting is that although only the 2nd display shows an image, the laptop touch screen is still sensetive to touch.  This is I guess why the random touches show up on the screen -- it feels the keyboard not fingers. I expect the touch screen to be disabled while the lid is closed or when projecting only to the 2nd screen.  The solution of opening the lid while connected to the docking station is not acceptable.  Lenovo's local support suggestion to disable touch for the Yoga is also not acceptable -- people purchase Yoga to get Touch.   A solution please! Yaron

I am experiencing the very same thing.A driver/BIOS update would be very much appreciated, dear Lenovo.

So out of the box, my Yoga 920 was missing the batteries and tips for the Active Pen 2 but I got an empty pen.  So Lenovo ships me a new pen but this one is a Lenovo Active Pen although it does list 4096 levels of pressure.  What's the difference between the pens and is the original compatible with the Yoga 920?I have it still in the box... Thanks.

Hi,      I bought my Lenovo YOGA 530-14IKB 3 months back, it worked fine, but I started to notice that bottom right quarter of the touch screen is not working, It is working when screen is at exact 90 degrees in laptop mode but when I tilt the screen back by some 10-15 degrees the bottom right part of the touch screen is not working. The lenovo pen is working fine on this section of screen. Facing same issue in tablet mode also. I don't think this is software issue, maybe the connection at the  hinge got screwed up. The laptop is still under warranty. All the Drivers are up to date. Can I get a replacement if I go to service center or is this a software issue which can be solved ?
