I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My experience with the upgrade. First I tried to get smart and get a generic EM7455, error 1802 and shutdown occured, Lenovo whitelists hardware and illegal BIOS mods are not my cuppa Joe. Then I tried to get the EM7455 from IBM Lenovo parts, delays until June, canceled. Ordered from HPP on Amazon, Lenovo original. Main antenna pin on card broke off into the antenna connector, after the stress of two connects, no luck extracting, snapped it off and then soldered the cable into the EM7455 board. It was a dumb MISTAKE, because the cable is actually coaxial. Ordered Lenovo 1AW308 antenna (LAN and WWAN) and took the T460 apart. Carved up the micro-SIM tray (microsurgery with a blade) to accept the SIM card from AT&T. Make four cuts into the LCD bezel trim to access the screws because I was too ;lazy to pry it off, it all works now. Tips: To avoid pin amputation (which will get stuck in antenna connector) lift the WWAN card off the board avoiding contact with the connectors, wear a x10 bino magnifier preferable with a light, and bend the cables to lay flush with board before snappin in using nail, make sure you feel the slight pop when the connectors align before applying pressure. Oh and make sure you are well rested with the kids and wife out of the house Half an hour of work initially, then a five hour session to fix the booboo. Parts for the unfortunate antenna amputees, order here:IBM Lenovo Parts01AW308 Antenna (has both WiFi and WWAN, ... Hi all, I need some assistance in adding LTE/WWAN options to a P52 laptop that wasn't ordered as 'WWAN Ready' The laptop has a SIM Card slot but no M.2 WWAN Module or WWAN Antennas connected to it. I have been back and forth with Lenovo many times and they say it's not possible to upgrade this unit as it wasn't purchased originally as WWAN Ready.. which I think means the laptop would be installed with an M.2 WWAN Module and the WWAN antenna I am able to find the M.2 WWAN Module which is compatible however not finding any WWAN antenna. Hey guys, I've recently purchased a 6th generation Thinkpad X1 Carbon. At the time of my purchase it was only avaliable without WWAN.However I can now see that Lenovo il selling them with built-in WWAN too. I've opened up my laptop and I can see there is a sim-card reader installed, as well as the sim slot on the back. Also there is a free slot where the WWAN card can go. I can see there are no LTE antennas installed however.See picture: https://imgur.com/o5RU96U I have tried getting in touch with the local Lenovo sales phone number but I am always put on hold and the call gets dropped after 15 minutes of waiting each time.I have also tried opening a support ticket regarding this, asking for the part number on the modem and the antenna. However, I was only provided with the part number for the antenna. Do you guys know of any documentation on how I should go ahead for installing the antenna? As far as I understand the antenna is PN 01YR426 . I have tried looking various places but it doesen't seem to be avaliable for sale anywhere?! Could I maybe use a  Sierra wireless AirPrime EM7455, or something else, instead? Hello, I've owned a T480 for a while now, and would like to add a WWAN card to it. I've considered USB modules but can't find any that will accomodate my providor so I am investigating the possibility of adding an internal one. I see that the T480 has the slot for one inside, and a place for the sim card behind the battery, but I don't see any antenna wires, and so I'm wondering if this is actually possible and if anyone knows how to do it, or has done it. There seems to be very little information online about adding mobile broadband cards in general. I had quite a time tracking down the Sierra Wireless AirPrime module that is supposed to fit my thinkpad module. Any information on the subject would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi! I have a new T480 with the factory installed WWAN option. It works on a fresh startup, but when the laptop goes into hibernate mode (not sleep) and then I wake it up, the WWAN stops workding. Windows Device Manager shows it as "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" Why does this factory installed option not work correctly in normal use? I would prefer not to have to disable hibernate or have to restart the laptop every time I want to have working WWAN. Thanks for any advice!

Hi all, I just began ordering T480s devices as the old T470's are gone, and running into an issue on one where every time the computer goes to sleep it simply states "No Connection" in the cellular section.  Prior to going to sleep it works fine, but after waking this happens every time.  A reboot resolves the issue, but this is incredibly aggrvating. I downloaded the drivers that were released for this WWAN from July 23rd and installed them, but even after doing so Windows is showing the installed driver as a generic device and NOT the drivers I installed(In device manager under wireless it does show as the Fibocom L850 though).  I've tried adjusting power settings, removing the card and putting it back in, uninstalling and trying a fresh install of the drivers: nothing seems to work. Has anyone encountered this or know of a potential solution?  Just about at my wits end here.

I currently have T580 with pre-installed WWAN module (Fibocom L850-GL) and trying to get to work it on Linux. It works perfectly fine on Windows. So far I discovered that Windows driver uses PCIe protocol to communicate with WWAN module, but Linux is supported apparently only through USB protocol, and if PCIe is enabled, the module ignores all USB commands according to its hardware specs document (page 26) - https://www.mev-elektronik.com/files/MEV%20Elektronik%20Service/produkt-downloads/rf-microwave-wirel... Fibocom recommendation is to disable PCIe in BIOS, that is not supported by stock ThinkPad. Thus in Linux the device is only displayed as "Wireless controller: [0d40]: Intel Corporation Device 7360 (rev 01)" through lspci , and nothing on lsusb . Any suggestions how to make it work on Linux? As an alternative I'm considering getting another WWAN module, but it's quite likely it will not work due to whitelists. The only other module that is whitelisted for sure is L830-EB, that does not have global coverage and thus doesn't work in the US or China, even so it was reported that it's Linux-compatible (USB-mode only). Maybe there is a patched BIOS that has whitelists removed? Wondering if there are Linux enthusiasts who are also looking for a way of using WWAN.

Until yesterday, the Fibocom L850-GL worked perfectly in my T480. After a restart, the device was gone and instead the error message "Detected unrecognized USB driver" appears permanently three times in the system log. The device manager recognizes a USB-Com device instead of the Fibocom. Detected unrecognized USB driver (\Driver\pci).Detected unrecognized USB driver (\Driver\ACPI).Detected unrecognized USB driver (\Driver\UDE). Even after a clean Windows 10 Pro (1803) installation, the error is repeated. The original installation of Windows 10 Pro (1803) immediately detected and installed the Fibocom.BIOS is up to date. For now I deactivated the device. Any hint?

Hello All, New T480 with the Fibocom L850-GL wwan card. Clean install of Windows 10 Pro x64, Redstone 4 (v. 1803). All Windows Updates applied. All Lenovo updates applied through the Vantage app via the Microsoft Store, and manually checked from the support page of the website (BIOS, WWAN, etc. updates). Following the manual, I pulled the external battery, disabled the internal battery, then inserted my T-Mobile USA sim card, then reassembled everything, then rebooted. Manually installed the latest L580-GL drivers from Lenovo. First off, the L850-GL is being shown as a USB device, as opposed to PCIE, with a hardware device instance path of USB\VID_8087&PID_0AC9&MI_00\7&4FA6012&0&0000, and a hardware location of 0000.0000.0000. in the properties dialogue screen in Device Manager. The Driver tab shows the provider is Microsoft with a date of 4/10/2018 and a version of 10.0.17134.1.... I suspect much of that to be a sign that something isn't right from the get-go... Second, every time I close the lid of the machine or leave it running long enough to enduce the proper level of sleep/hibernation, the card simply stops (with a hardware error 43 warning in Device Manager). At that point, my "T-Mobile LTE" network option no longer appears in the Windows 10 notification/network connections sidebar. My only recourse thus far has been to uninstall the L850 in device manager, "Sca... Just installed Win 7 Home Premium 32 bit. Wanting to upgrade ram to use 64 bit.
Currently have 3Gb dual channel [email protected], PC2 5300.
Can I or should I buy 4Gb DDR2, 800MHz,2x2Gb, PC26400 at Fry's and will my system accept it?
This is all new to me so walk me thru upgrading ram. Can and will provide more info if needed.

Max is 4096 MBytes with 4 slots on a ASUSTEk Motherboard

A:Help in selecting Ram upgrade

I'd just buy another stick identical to what you have now. I'm guessing you have 3 separate 1 gig sticks, with 1 free slot.

No reason to throw out the RAM you now have, which seems to be what you are thinking about with the Fry's purchase.
You don't mention overclocking, so I guess that is not an issue.

I'd go to Crucial.com and enter your HP model number into the configurator. It will kick out the various modules that are guaranteed to work with your PC. Pick the 5300 speed 1 gig DDR 2 choice.

Looks like that would be the 1024 MB choice here, for $31.99:

There are very minor differences when using only 2 sticks rather than 4, but I don't think they are significant enough to cause you to throw out 3 gigs of good RAM.

My 9530 has the 32GB SSD + 1 TB setup.

I'm looking to go all SSD.   But I haven't found any posts specifically addressing whether an NVMe m.2 drive is fully compatible with the 9530.

I'm interested in a Samsung 950 for the speed benefits.   But it seems that they are power hungry and also have issued being recognized on certain XPS models.   Others seem to have gotten the 950 to boot, but aren't seeing the full performance.   Others say that the although the 950 has impressive benchmarks, the real word difference is negligible.
Other posts seems to indicate that the Samsung 951 is more compatible.
Please let me know what the best recommendation would be for optimal performance.
Ideally I could swap the current drives out for a Samsung 950 (256 GB) and a Samsung 850 (1 TB).

Or would I be better off with a Samsung 941, or 951 in place of the 950?

MSI P4MAM2-V Series Mobo
Western Digital Caviar 120GB HDD

Logitech MX5000 Desktop

I am looking to replace my current ATX motherboard with something that will better suit my needs. I've been looking and the best one I found was this.

I want something with:
Socket 478
8x AGP
2DDR Slots, 4 would be a plus
5 or more PCI slots
The rest is pretty much optional, want to spend somewhere around $75 or less. Is the above mobo any good? Do y'all have any suggestions for me, any help is appreciated.

A:Need help selecting an upgrade mobo.

I would suggest an Abit IS7. The E2 version (2 DDR slots, no IEEE1394) goes for only $68 at Newegg. I have one of those running on my son's PC for 3 years now with no problems. But I bought the full version with 4 DDR slots and 1394.

I am not getting well performance in gaming from my newly bought MSI Radeon 9800pro.(Low FPS in games like MOH-PA, BF2)
Many people says my Processor is limiting my 3dcard and i have to change it to get 100% better performance from my 3dcard. Is it true.

My system spec is.

Intel Celeron D 2.4Ghz
MSI Mobo with 4x AGP.
512 MB DDR 400 bus.

I have decided to upgarde my system. Plz help me for selecting me a right option or tell me what to do.

2. Buy pentium 4 3.0Ghz 512 chache 533MHZ FSB and buy 6600gt and plug them into my current MSI 4x AGP mobo or buy 1 with AGP 8x Mobo.

PLZ help me for selecting me right option!

One more thing How much Ht technology supports the gaming?(Is HT tech. is good for gaming?)

A:Help Me For Selecting A Right Option For Me For System Upgrade.

I've heard it said that celerons are the equivalent of a pentium with 70% of the celerons clock speed, so a 2.4 celeron would be like a 1.68 pentium 4, if that % is right. It would slow you down a bit having a slower cpu.

Agp 4x likely isn't a major problem with a 9800pro, but I may be wrong. People say that agp cards barely can use agp 4x's speed let alone 8x.

A 6600gt won't be much faster than your 9800pro, but the 3ghz cpu would make it work faster(less bottleneck).

I think you should just get a new cpu for your current board, depending on what your board can support, or a new cpu and a new board.
So a cpu'd be about $180 us, and a board would be $60-100.
I don't think there's any reason to ditch the 9800, at least not yet, although in bf2, it may not be very fast on high settings even with a new cpu.

Or if your board has the capability, you could overclock your current cpu, and see if it increases your performance.

PSREF for X1C 5th gen shows the following from Specification tab as it related to WWAN: WWAN (optional): Integrated Mobile Broadband 4G LTE-A, Qualcomm? Snapdragon? X7 LTE-A (Sierra Wireless EM7455)SIM CARD (opt): Micro-SIM card slot, opt Verizon LTE (US) or Lenovo? Connect (EMEA) SIM cardThis is different than the X1C 4th gen which also has a "WWAN Upgradable" entry, which means the antennas are pre-installed, and you just need to add the WWAN card itself.  Does this mean that all 5th gens ship with the antennas pre-installed, or does it mean they simply haven't produced WWAN Upgradable SKU's yet? NONE of the "US" models (20HR) in PSREF from pre-installed with the EM7455 card, so I can't even order a SKU that I know has all the components.  At the same time,  It seems highly unlikely to me that  they have no US models that have antennas pre-installed, so you can upgrade them after the fact.

Just for clarity, may someone confirm : Can the currently available P50 that has no option for WWAN be upgraded at a later date, i.e. it is WWAN ready and just needs a card, or that the current P50 will not support WWAN and cannot be upgraded. Also, if upgradable there must already be a slot for the SIMM card, is one there? It has been suggested that the WWAN option will become available in April, can someone confirm this? Many thanksRob

A:P50 and WWAN option - upgrade/availability

So whenever the WWAN-card will be available there should be no problem to upgrade the current models. Cubbi

Hello everyone, I'm considering purchasing a P52 (20M9001NGE; probably not getting the P3200 and settling for the P2000 though) in a couple of weeks. I saw that Lenovo offers the P52 with WWAN capabilities and was wondering if the additional antennas are built into non-WWAN capable models, hence making adding a WWAN card down the line a tremendous amount easier (without having to purchase an antenna kit and essentially ripping the whole thing apart). Unfortunately, information on this seems pretty sparse at the moment. Does anyone here have a P52 and knows whether non-WWAN models contain the required antennas? Thanks!

hi folks, i bought a new X1 Carbon 7th gen (machine code 20QE) with WWAN ready (LTE antenna is build in and i have plugs in the M2 slot for modem). I checked which modems i can use and finally bought a fibocom L850-GL. sadly though, after installing it the bios gave me "1802: unauthorized network card .. (8086/7360/8086/0020). and wont let me do anything.bios is newest. Is there any chance to get it to work? thanks in advice, pilo

A:Lenovo X1 Carbon 7th Gen WWAN Upgrade

Welcome to the CommunityWhat are the BIOS and EC versions on your laptop? Take a look at the 1st tab (Main) of the BIOS Setup. The IDs you've provided belong to Lenovo branded wwan modem L850 which is approved for x1c gen7. So, the issue looks strange.

Hello,Welcome to Lenovo Community.
I'm not sure why that information does not help.  If you have tried this process regarding  how to use your product key, and that does not work, you may have to contact Microsoft.
