I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi Deshazzz,

Welcome to the Forums

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with fan noise from your Lenovo Z50-70 laptop.

Try to remove the dust through the energy management, go to energy management select maintainence guide and select dust removal option and check for the issue.

Try to update the graphic driver and check for the issue, if the system was shipped with the graphic card? Is the system overheating while using any application?

Click here for the graphic driver for windows 7(32 bit).

Click here for the graphic driver for windows 7 (64 bit).

Click here for the graphic driver for windows 8.1.

Hope this helps. Do post back if the issue persists!

I have bought a samsung evo 250gb ssd to install my os partition to it from my HDD. I have created a recovery usb drive from my present HDD(controlpanel->recovery->create usb recovery). Then removed the HDD from the slot & replaced it with SSD & boot the system. While booting up i have selected boot from my USB drive which have the recovery, & continue the steps & finally submit the reset button.System shows "Resetting the PC" & after 10 seconds it shows a screen saying 'There was a problem resetting the PC, no changes were made'. I have tried several times but the same message came. Can any one please help whether the steps followed by me are correct , else please help me. Because i'm facing very much slowness with my present HDD(WD 5400 rpm), that's what i'm planned to move the os partition to SSD & keep the HDD in place of optical drive bay using a caddy. I don't want to loose my Genuine Windows 10 with my present system. So please help me with a resolution.

Hi all, I just purchased a aio 700 - 24ISH, and I am a bit concerned with the fan noise. From start up the fan is on at probably pretty high speed according to the noise it produces (40dB), which is quite annoying. when computer is Iddle or under stress (OCCT), the noise is always exactly the same like if the fan was always running full speed... Temperatures are low with CPU under 40C. It is almost like the fan speed was not controlled and constantly at max. Could other user confirm this is a normal behavior? Any idea if it is possible to regulate the fan speed (I found nothing in BIOS and Speedfan does't detect the fan). Thanks in advance.

A:Lenovo aio 700 - fan noise

Nobody? Actually, it would be helpful to get feedback from other aio 700 owners to understand if this issue is coming from my unit or is a general thing. It really seems there is no fan regulation. the fan is very noisy when idle and does exactly the same during heavy use (bench, OCCT).

I've tried checking the activity monitor, but just some windows 10 process increases the CPU usage( to more or less 20%).. the Temperatures of the Intel Core are unstable, they can instantly reach 60C (just for few seconds) even if no one program is running, ant that's really annoying.. I also tried cleaning the fans, updating the BIOS,reinstalling all the drivers, but nothing has changed.. what should I do? It's still in warranty but I need it for work, I can't afford to give it away some months..Sorry for my english, I hope to have explained it well.

Hi everybody! I'm an owner of B50-70 laptop model with core i3 4005u configuration and I'm having a little issue with the noise produced by the fan. It seems it is always on, even at idle states doesn't deactivate itself when no application is running like I was used with my previous laptops Dell Vostro and HP Compaq.  It is a bios issue? or it's just a cheap laptop with no option to deactivate it? If the answer is the second one, then this is not a laptop recommended for business use, every business man expects quietness when writing a document, calculating various spreadsheets and so on. The power plan is set on balanced mode, and cpu stays mostly of the time at 800 mhz. I had attached a picture with the temps, those seem ok, they are below 50C, the fan should deactivates when temps reach below 50C like I said I had experienced with models from competition.

A:Fan noise Lenovo B50-70

You can check BIOS settings, make sure any "Cool and Quiet" settings are enabled. Also - a quick way to check the actual temperature of the machine is by feeling the exhaust output on your wrist or the back of your hand. If it feels warm, even when the CPU is at idle then you can safely lower the fan in the settings. If it still is more than warm, then you may have some cooling issues that need to be looked at.Also - if you have not removed dust from the notebook, I would suggest doing so by blowing clean (canned computer air) air thru the computer vents to dislodge and remove buildup.Good luck.CB

I noticed my fan is always running.  Its not too loud but its constant and can be irrating at times..It does increase when under load and fluctuates for a bit...then it goes down to its normal speed.  Should the fan always be running?  I ordered a new because maybe its just getting old.  What are your opions with yours.  I would say mine isnt quite like some reviews have posted.

A:Lenovo A730 AIO fan noise

hi kjasey,

The fan noise that's you're hearing, is it a:

A wind noise? --> If it is, this is normal as faster fan speed causes wind noise on the vents (this usually happens if you're getting unusual heat and the fan spins at a faster RPM to cool down the CPU)..

A grinding / rattling noise? --> this indicates that the fan is struggling - (it's possible that the fan is dirty or is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced).

If this is the sound that you're hearing, you will need to contact the lenovo helpdesk for service (they usually send somebody over to repair the unit).

Let me know your findings.

My Laptop's fan has been making a lot of noise the last few days, i already checked a lot of forum's, so i've already checked the easier solutions. I have removed the dust from my fan (there was almost no dust!) I checked my laptops CPU usage, it was at about 3%, so it's not because the CPU is overheated. It just starts making a lot of noise for no apparant reason i think. What can i do? should i just install a new fan? according to me, my fan is in good condition, as far as i can tell. The only reason that my laptop is getting hot is because of the fan turning all the time.  My computer doesn't detect any problems. But the noise is really irritating.  Thanks for support.

A:Lenovo G780 Fan noise

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Sorry to hear of the noise problem.  Is the fan making a grinding or chatter sound?   If so, that would be a indication that the bearings in the fan are failing.  If the noise is nothing more than rushing air, that maybe caused by the fan ramping up to full speed to cool the laptop down.  Previously the laptop may have not gotten that hot so the rush of air was less noticeable.

As for temperature, I would recommend you download and use a free utility called HWMonitor.  It will report the internal temperatures of the laptop and give a better indication if it is over heating.  If it is over heating, the solution maybe a quick fix by re-applying the thermal paste on the heat sink.  Here is a link to that utility.  It comes in two versions. First, a portable one that can run from a flash drive of folder on your laptop.  The second version installs on the hard drive.

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

Your model's Hardware Maintenance Manual will explain how to disassemble the laptop for fan replacement or thermal paste application.  Here is a link to the manual.....

I downloaded the new lenovo y50 bios version: 9ECN43WW released 10/22/2015.

However, whenever I turn the laptop on, it makes the fan whir up really loudly for a few seconds and then goes into the windows login screen.
The same thing happens when I turn it off: the fans accelerate and spin loudly for a few seconds then shuts down.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening or to revert to an older bios version? There is only the 9ECN43WW bios in my C:/ bios folder.

Thanks in advanced.

I have just purchased today a Lenovo B50-30 i7 all in one desktop. Along the bottom of the screen is a black strip which houses the JBL speakers I assume. Upon plugging in and turning on the PC there is a loud humming noise and vibrating noise emanating from the PC. When you put your hands on the black strip, the humming ceases when you release, the humming returns. When you feel the PC you can feel it vibrating. Does anyone else have this PC and notice this issue?

A:Lenovo B50 all in one desktop noise

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

About the only moving parts in your system that runs the major of the time would be the hard drive and a cooling fan.  If either wasn't properly mounted during manufacture then it could be the source of the vibration.  Then again, one just might be defective.  The hum I suspect is the result of the vibration which is resonating through the other parts in the computer.

Since the machine is brand new, I would either return it to the place of purchase and exchange it for another one or contact Lenovo Support for warranty service.

If you decide to contact Lenovo, here is link to the support phone number.......

Hi All - my laptop is approximately a year old and in relatively good condition. However, a few days ago a loud mechanical sound began coming from the right side of the laptop which I think must be coming from the fan but I'm really unsure. Hi all, I bought this bad boy back in July and have been thoroughly enjoying my experience with it (save for the screen issue discussed in another thread). I was fine with it since it seems to have gone away on its own and I couldn't afford to be without the machine for as long as it would take for them to fix it. The last few days I've been noticing near-constant fan noise. It picks up when I'm on Chrome or running some statistical computing software (R and Stata), but even without these applications running there is a noticeable amount of fan noise. Has anyone else experienced this issue? What have you done to remedy this? Thanks!

I never had this problem before until recently I noticed that my fan was making this loud buzzing noise. It was bearable at first. I thought that the fan might be dusty inside because I haven't cleaned it ever since I bought it. Last week, I tried to open the laptop so I can check why it is making that loud noise. I saw that the fan was dirty. I tried cleaning it. When I turned on my laptop, it was still making that loud buzzing noise. So I just ignored it. After a week, It suddenly got louder. It didn't sound normal anymore. I tried restarting the laptop but it still makes that noise. Its annoying. I took a video so you can hear what my fan is making.  It just keeps doing like this even if my laptop is just on stanby, like I'm not doing anything with it. This is what it sounds like when I did the Dust Removal tool on Energy Management.   Since I kept using the Dust Removal tool.. Now its making this weird noise, like the fan is getting stuck on something. I don't know what to do anymore. Its been 2 years since I bought this laptop so I don't have anymore warranty and I never had problems with my laptop except for today. I have never dropped it so I don't know why this is happening to my laptop. Please help me.

I used the dust removal but it made no difference and when i shut it down it stopped. using it now it hasnt been making the loud sound so i think it mightve been a one off  I always keep it flat on a table so that might have something to do with it and the laptop is out of warranty. I have been thinking about opening the back and cleaning but i dont have the right screwdriver so that will have to wait.another thing - fan dust removal doesnt seem to reduce noise at all.what it usually sounds like

Hi Nstant,  Most probably a program or App is running at the background cause fast spinning fan to cool down CPU temp.  To figure it out, right click in your taskbar and from the opened menu click on task manager.  -From top menu click on performance tab then click on resource monitor ==> from top menu click on CPU tab and look at to the Average CPU usage and see which App or Program is using a high percentage of your CPU capacity==> right click on it and end the process.  .Regards,  **If the issue has been resolved please, mark me as solution provided to help others find the solution easily and click the Kudos.**

Hey guys, I've recently bought a Lenovo ideapad 320 (320-15IKB (Type 80XL, 80YE) Laptop (ideapad)) and I hear something like a fan noise, it's not really a noise, but it's more of an oscillation, and it's low but if I'm in a quiet room I hear it well and it really bothers me since it's a brand new laptop.I searched the forum here and found something very useful but want to know first if this is for my laptop or not as I don't want to break something!the link is: https://support.lenovo.com/eg/en/solutions/ht117149 If this is not for me, any help would be great. P.S : I've replaced another one a week ago because of a screen issue, but the fan oscillation issue was on it too!
