Bouncing emails!?!?

Q: Bouncing emails!?!?

I have a problem with my email that I can't figure out and hope that someone here can shed some light for me.

Here's the problem:

A few weeks ago I found that a site that I am subscribed to for daily email notifications to play trivia suddenly stopped. Then, a few days later (June 16th) I received a message from Brink that my email notifications here were bouncing back. (I am subscribed to the Funny You Tube Videos thread.) Funny thing is, I did receive a notification from his PM that my emails were bouncing yet I didn't receive any from those who had posted to the Funny You Tube Video thread just 6 days ago even though I did change my email for this site to an alternate email client on the 16th of June and did receive a notification from Brink at the new email address after I had changed it and I did get a notification from my friend here that I sent a message to a few days ago at that new address yet still, non from those who had posted in the Funny Video thread. Weird huh?!?!

Since I was notified about my emails bouncing, I've realized that I am not getting emails from my daughters school newsletters either. If it were just one domain that this was happening to I'd say it was them. What really confuses me is that I get notifications from PM's here but not from threads!! I'm curious to see if I get one from this thread at the new email client.

So, even if you don't know the solution to this issue would someone please just post to say hi or something so I can see if I get a notification that it has been replied to!

The email client in question is Yahoo!

Any ideas why this is happening?

Donna

Preferred Solution: Bouncing emails!?!?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Welcome
There is one cause, that I think is reasonable. Yahoo has updated its spam list. Addys or domains that they suspect of being spam are not being delivered. .\
I know that Yahoo, just a few days ago updated its Web Email page.

Hi! I'm newly registered her but have been here before and found great information.
I have searched and read previous posts on the AOL issues and luckily I got rid of them many years ago.
My question is this. Has anyone ever heard of having to PAY AOL to keep your server off of their blacklist? I'm on another forum (a local club that I'm a board member of) and the guy that set it up says that he's going to ban aol users because of the bouncing and that they refuse to pay AOL to keep it from happening. Being a club and it being one of the ways we communicate, the board members don't want to ban anyone. I'm pretty much all over the net on different groups and have never heard of this.
Thanks for any info on this!

It's not just AOL that is doing this (from what I've heard). I've read that several internet providers are charging companies to give "priority" to their email, to bypass normal spam filters, etc....

About 3-4 weeks ago people started calling saying their emails to me were bouncing back as undeliverable.

Issues
1. Emails to me are intermittenly bouncing back to the senders. Not good!
2. Pages change slowly in my browsers
3. Delayed mouse clicks, (intemitten)
4. Programs open slowly. Sometimes they do not appear on my screen, so I try to open them again and get a message that that program is open...where is the question. then I go to System manger turn off the program and re-open. that usually works.

I'm running a scan with a fresh download of MBAM right now, it could take a while.

Thanks,
yarlac

We use a third party to host our email publication lists. Previousy, when we would send out a publication, I'd usually see a handful of bounced messages in the bounce report. On March 6th some time between 9:30am and 11:00am about half of our clients (from various different companies) started bouncing our publications sent from the listserver (emails sent from from our exchange server, which has a different IP address, are going through just fine). I checked our domain name on the blacklist lookup through MXtoolbox and we got the all clear. I then looked up the IP address for our listserver and it did return one blacklisting with Sorbs, but that appeared to have been listed some time ago. I got Sorbs to delist the IP address. They confirmed the delisting on Tuesday around 1:00pm. I understand that it can take some time for DNS to refresh and propagate around the internet, but it is now Friday and I'm still seeing the same number of bounces.

In the bounce reports under bounce reasons, I'm seeing either a blank space, "Spam," or "service unavailable."

I have a trouble ticket open with the company that hosts our listserver, but so far they haven't been much help. I'm also talking to a couple of network administrators on the receiving end, but due to the sheer volume of the bounces, I don't know how I could reach out to all of our client's IT folks, but I'm hoping someone could shed some light on what changed on March... Hi folks,

I had bouncing emails which I believe I tracked down to fact I was using a domain forwarder and email forwarder, which added its own server IP address to email headers. Then when about 2 or 3 mths ago every ISP in the land (UK) switched on SPF, my own ISP's SPF blocked out a lot of email that was addressed for me, on the basis that it was spam (my ISP told me this happened if it came from another company that ran SPF, or whose ISP ran SPF, because my ISP's SPF would be able to do a lookup of domain vs. IP address, and lo-and-behold, any email that had been forwarded now looked like spam !).

Very annoying - lost lots of client and candidate emails without knowing...
I was told the problem was that I was using email forwarding - no surprise I suppose - even my untrained eye could tell that email forwarding is a bit of a hack...

Anyhow, what I did was move my domain hosting in-house with my ISP so its properly hosted and I no longer need any domain forwarding or email forwarding, which I'm told should fix the problem.

BUT - how can I be sure it has ? is there any sort of diagnostic I can run or check I can do ?

..would hate to lose another 2 mths email - would probably put me out of bizness

lotsa love
C.

Hi... I'm in help desk in my company. We're having an issue with emails sent to Hotmail, they're being rejected. Microsoft answered, via website:

"Welcome to Microsoft Community. We understand how important for you to be able to send an email to Microsoft accounts from your domain account.

You need to get in touch with the Microsoft Sender Support Team. They have to fill out the e-form that can be found on the following link to solve your issue with the error code 550 SC-002 where your emails sent from your domain to Microsoft Account rejected for policy reasons.

If you are the 3rd party Domain Administrator:

Please review our policies and guidelines at http://postmaster.live.com.
If you are in compliance, submit a support request to our Email and Delivery Filtering Services team by clicking on the link to the e-form under the troubleshooting section in the postmaster site mentioned above.

Let us know if you have further questions.

Thank you. "

... but the problem is that mails sent to Gmail are being rejected too... So I suppose that our servers are being considered as spammers, for the time being, for some reason. Is there a workaround to this without having to contact either Hotmail or Gmail? That's dealing with obnoxious bureaucrats... if you ever can get a hold of them...

I've had the same email address for years and would like to keep it. It's a Yahoo email. I accidentally signed up for something a long time ago which is a 'no no'. I have 2 emails and usually have one for regular and one for spam but I messed up and now have spam coming to my regular email.
With Yahoo everything has been going into the spam folder just fine with the occasional one that ends up in the inbox, But I hate having spam constantly coming to that email because if I get an important email message that accidentally goes into spam I have to search and find it threw the 60+ spam emails I get daily.
I recently downloaded MailWasher and got the pro version on a free trial and I have been using the bounce back feature hoping that if I bounce back enough spam emails they will remove me from the list assuming my email address has been deleted. So far I've had it not even a week but I wanted to ask is using the bounce back feature a good idea? Does it really work? Or is there anything else I can do to remove my email from spam lists or make the spammers believe my email address has been deleted even though it hasn't.

I would really really really want to keep this email address so please don't reply with "delete your email and create a new one" because I really don't want to have to do that. I'll live with having spam than deleting the email address.

A:Bouncing Emails...Good idea?

No, it is not a good idea.
The return address is usually that of an innocent person. You may be sending back mail to someone that considers it spam.

For several months now I receive "bounced" email messages from a variety of people. The problem is, I am NOT sending the emails that are bouncing back to me, but everyone of these people (who I do NOT know) think I am sending them and I am getting back some fairly harsh responses.

The offending sender seems to be someone from a company called "cura heat patch", but when I try to contact them the emails will not go through.

This morning I tried to reply to one of their messages, and unfortunately it seems to have gone to dozens of people instead of them, and now I have alot more people cranking at me to stop sending them messages, when in fact I am not.

What could be causing this? and do you have any suggestions on how to stop it?

Thank you

Hi Aroominyork, it is possible the mail server you use for sending mail has been added to a black list which is now causing you issues.

You need to find the IP of your SMTP server (which you can find probably in the returned emails), if not then copy and paste the contents of one of the returned emails here and we should be able to find it.

When you have the IP, try typing it in here and see what results you get.

It's the tale of providers who don't have an answer. I've been having email bounce back issues in two email accounts through different providers (GoDaddy and Network Solutions). Because it was happening in one account more than the other (mostly because I use that account far more), I contacted that email provider (Network Solutions).

The bounce back seems to be happening when I reply to an email - the bounce will either say no account of that name exists or there was some other fatal error. It's obvious these email accounts exist because I have been having regular communications with them.

Network Solutions did some digging for me and said it was because my IP has been blacklisted and I should contact my ISP (Spectrum formerly TWC). They said it wasn't their issue that it must be from a virus, a setting, or sending spam. After being on the phone with support for nearly an hour it came down to them basically saying there was nothing they could do to help.

NS checked MX Toolbox and found that my IP has been blacklisted 93 times. One of those places say that this is a function of my ISP and I should contact them to help get me removed. Well, I did and they said they couldn't help. So I'm here. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Hello There,

I have an ASUS computer running on windows Vista.
Recently the screen has begun bouncing. By bouncing I mean the top and bottom 1/4 parts of the screen will start jumping, then it will gradually build up until the screen becomes very difficult to read. This only seems to randomly happen, and only with internet access. I have a fully updated version of Norton 360. Every time this bouncing happens I run Norton. It will never find a virus, but will find problem cookies, which it displays as fixed. I will run several scans after each other, it will continue to find problem cookies. This bouncing often stops when the scan is in progress.

An associated issue is my hot mail email address has been sending spam to my friends. I haven't opened any emails or suspect files. This has occurred previously. I changed my password and it disappeared, however now it has rediscover my password, which I have changed again.

In my armature opinion I believe something has downloaded onto my computer reading my passwords, im unsure

I've read previously forums discussing similar issues however none of these have fixed my problem

Cheers
Michael

I ran CCleaner and am hesitant to run anything else without knowing what the problem is.

I have a Dell XPS 15 Z laptop with 6 GB of RAM, 4 x 2.53 GHz processors and 500 GB hard drive which is only about half full. The operating system is Windows 7 Pro/ 64. All updates are current. I have Kaspersky anti-virus, malware bytes, & spybot search and destroy. All of which say the computer is clean.

Regularly my cursor starts jumping around the screen for two or three seconds. Even though the computer does not have a hard drive activity light, I think I can hear the hard drive going when this happens. If I wait a few seconds everything settles down and I have perfect cursor control from the touchpad. I've tried plugging in a mouse and I get the same effect, so I don't think it's the pad itself. The Cyprus touchpad drivers are up to date. I defraged the hard drive regularly. This happens in any program on the machine.

I have seldom seen more than half of the Ram used. The processor load is usually 15 to 25%. I can not detect any relationship between what programs or how many are loaded.

Since the computer seem to be needlessly swapping to the hard drive, I've tried increasing the virtual memory to very large values and decreasing it to a minimum. Makes no difference.
Thanks

Larry

I have a new Vista 64 bit computer. When I try to save an attachment, and get the navigation window, the cursor rapidly switches between a spining circle and an arrow and slightly bounces or vibrates on the screen. I can still make selections, but it is akward and I have to work at it. How can I fix this problem?

A:Bouncing Cursor - How to get rid of it?

Sounds like something is working in the background still with the spinner and cursor changes, but the bouncing is different.
What OEM machine is this if it's an OEM (Dell, HP..etc)?
Too many OEM machines come with a pile of crud programs that load on startup and run in the background, and should be uninstalled. One of these may be causing the system to hang slightly during operations causing that "working in background" circle, and could also cause the cursor to bounce about. If possible, a screenshot of installed programs could help.

Any idea why this is? I asked the support people at Webs.com and they said it was an issue with my ISP and that I should talk to them, but my client has also logged in and tried sending a message from a different IP address and is having the same problem... Read more

Every time I type anything with any program on my PC my cursor moves off the page and my internet connection is interupted forcing me to restart to regain access. I acctually finally decided to write this message in notebook, save it, restart my computer, and Copy Paste it to the forum because everytime I would type I'd get kicked off. Even when I am not connected to the internet this happens. I have scanned with Norton 360 and Malwarebyte. I tried to install AVG Free and Adaware but it said that I have security issues that block the install. Please, help me figure out how to fix this problem. I do data entry from my home PC and need this for my work. BTW I am on Win 7 64bit and tried to use security task manager, but everthing seems to check out.

A:Bouncing Cursor

If it is a laptop you may be causing the cursor problem by inadvertently touching the touchpad with your wrist. But I don't know how you could be impacting your network connection that way.

If you are using Wi-Fi and some type of bluetooth or other wireless mouse or keyboard there may be a conflict.

I hope someone can help. I posted on the software forum and someone suggested it could be a hardware problem.

My screen will bounce up and down at random without even touching the mouse or keyboard. There is no set pattern. It will stop at times and go on for several minutes the next time.

Im using a Dell with Win xp home edition.

My problem is exactly the same as one I've seen here before. My screen jumps up and down without my touching the mouse. It occurs sporadically and with different intensities and sometimes not al all. I can go weeks without it happening and then so intense for days that I can hardly read my screen.

Could just be a faulty mouse, seen it before, and that probably would be where I'd start.

I am running Mailwasher version 2.0.21.3456.

Lately, when I mark spam for bouncing I recieve error messages stating the mail couldn't be bounced either because the sender doesn't exist or the SMTP is incorrect. Is anybody else using this having the same problem? I take it this isn't a mailwasher problem but examples of spammers forging headers or faking sender's addys? (I don't know- I am ignorant of e-mail details)

I can make a ball bounce around the screen by simply adding or subtracting 1 to the x and y coordinates and what not. It's not too difficult. What is difficult for me however is to make a ball bounce at different angles. Because by simply adding or subtracting 1 it's always at a 90 degree angle. This will be worked into a game of pong, but can anyone help me with this please?

Welcome to TSG!!

A quick thought.... Your monitor trying to auto center or adapt to the full screen resolution?

have a look at your monitor settings see if it even has auto adjust.
Or try a lower / higher desktop resolution (in the OS) before launching a game.

As of yesterday, my browsers (IE6/FF) have gone berserk. They start out fine but when you click your mouse on the screen they begin bouncing up and down like some mad Mexican jumping bean. The keyboard is not responsive, if that helps.
I ran mcAfee, with negative results. i can't get to any online virus scanners. I have not been able to find any viruses with these characteristics. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not on the home computer, so i can't give any information other than Windows XP pro SP2, IE6, FF1.1 or whatever the latest was, McAfee firewall and McAfee 9 home AV.

Tach67 - welcome

Is it only Internet Explorer that causes the strange behaviour or does the system act this way with other applications?

I assume that you cannot access the internet on the problem computer - ??

Do you have Adaware and Spybot on the problem computer?? If not download them ( even if you have to transfer from another computer) if you can download to the problem computer- update them and scan the system. delete anything that they find.

Adaware from here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html

Spybot from here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2471.html

Ok, I am not trying to be wordy, but I have read several of the threads, and have tried about everything everyone has suggested, so I have a lot to say! Sorry about that!

My number one issue is that my boyfriends computer, a Sony Vaio, that has Windows Vista, with an Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo CPU, has developed a horribly bouncing/jumping screen. I have tried the refresh rate, scanning for viruses, uninstalling the driver, refreshing the screen, and anything else that I could possibly think of. The screen continues to jump even in safe mode, and at the bottom of the screen, under where the start bar is, the top of the screen shows up again. Also, all of the images have a "shadow", in that it is showing all the screens twice, one just hazier than the other. The jumping is so bad that it makes me sick to look at the screen, and is unusable. Any of the suggestions I have had to make sure I can get to using my computer first, then bracing myself and trying it on his computer.

Now then, things that I have noticed that may or may not be related are:

Upon logging into his user name, it comes up and says that Comrade has quit working. I have tried googling this, and found that a virus can mimic the comrade program and cause problems. They were not specific to the problems, so I am not sure if this could be related. Unfortunately, I am not a very tech savvy person, so I would not know how to go about trying to find a false program, or even where to find the real program to ... Read more

Oh, I also forgot to mention, that every time you restart the computer, it will install updates. Then as soon as it comes back on, it still says it has updates to install. I do not know if that is relevant either, but if nothing else, just frustrating!

Thank you again!!

Hello bleeping computer forum,

I'm looking for some help with my fathers computer. I had previously installed Microsoft security essentials on the machine and this morning he received some sort of error regarding the program being unable to update. Not thinking much of it I advised him to uninstall/reinstall and it should have corrected the problem.

He uninstalled it and when searching in google for the Microsoft site to re-download, his browser gets randomly bounced around multiple (3-6) websites/ip addresses (in a new tab or window) before stopping. I have ran spybot search and destroy and removed two programs and two tracking cookies, but it dosent seem to have solved the problem.

I have attached a hijackthis log for you guys to look at... hopefully you will know more than me!

Many thanks,
Andrew

Everytime I get on the internet (explorer or firefox) my screen bounces up and down! It started yesterday and I do not know what is going on but it is giving me a headache. What could be the problem here?

A:internet screen in bouncing...

I've had this happen on my laptop where the touchpad is stuck in lock and drag mode. I have also seen this happen with my desktop when the autoscroll button is enabled yet it doesn't seem to disable itself.

I'm not sure how you define bouncing though. My symptoms are more of a jiggling effect. But it does drive me crazy when it happens.
