Driver problem for Intel graphics card

Q: Driver problem for Intel graphics card

I am having a problem with my Intel 82852/82855 graphics card drivers. this started when I tried to update the driver. I downloaded the driver, and tried to update it by unzipping the file, and going to device manager, selecting the device, selecting update driver, and specifying the location. it worked pretty well, but right at the end of the proccess, where the bar was almos full, it stopped. the wizard told me that there had been an error while installing my hardware; "the specified file could not be found." however, I didn't see a file specified anywhere! also, after this, my video card, (or cards, I'm not sure; device manager shows two had the little yellow circle with and exclamation mark near it. I tried this several times, completely unninstalling the drivers from the add/remove program lists. I've even tried it with an older driver, but I get the same message. Please help me: I'm pretty desperate!

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

This keeps coming up when I use the Intel(R) Driver Update Utility 2.5

"A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer.
The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver
instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues.
Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer."

Should I change from "Customized computer manufacturer driver" to the latest one from here (a "generic Intel driver) - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

I am looking for the option which gives better fps

Hi,

I've completed a new custom build, but have had problems with BSOD from the beginning with any installation of Intel Graphics drivers or the installation of any graphics card.

When I first completed the build, the XFX-7950 Black was installed. I booted to BIOS without issue, but when I inserted the Windows 7 (64 bit) it would boot through the windows logo screen but immediately BSOD right after going to the first install screen.

I removed the graphics card, and was able to complete the full Windows install without issue. I updated Windows and the drivers on the system but as soon as I installed the Intel 3000 Graphics driver, it would BSOD on every restart. I recovered back prior to the Graphics driver install and installed all other drivers. I updated the BIOS to the latest version.

I have reattempted the XFX 7950 multiple times in different slots, but with the same results. I also attempted my Radeon HD 4550 from my old computer but it gave the same results. It always boots through the Windows logo screen, but BSOD within a few seconds of reaching the password screen.

I broke down and installed Driver Whiz, which did detect multiple outdated drivers that I had not caught, but none of these fix the issues.

I've attached the requested zip. I don't think all BSOD's are showing up, as I've had to use recovery points after installed drivers didn't work. The last .dmp on 19 JUL was a Intel Graphics driver install attempt that I pulled off in safe mod... Read more

A:BSOD with install of Intel Graphics driver or install of graphics card

I recommend for future reference never to use driver discovery software like Driver Whiz. They have a propensity to install erroneous, buggy and/or outdated drivers. Finding drivers for your hardware should always be done manually.

Anyways, while I don't see any specific pattern for the crashes, I do see at least some of them are during disk I/O. That's when I immediately got suspicious of your Crucial SSD. If you have not already, the very first thing you should do when installing an SSD into a PC is to update your SSD's firmware, followed by your BIOS and any chipset/disk controller drivers. This is necessary as initial SSD firmware often has a habit of causing issues, which frequently is resolved when updating it.

If that all doesn't work, then it's time for some other hardware tests. Start with 7 passes of Memtest86+, followed by Torture Test on Blend for 9+ hours with Prime95. If those don't turn up anything, then replace either your motherboard (most likely culprit) or your SSD drive.

Hey guys, I'm running the x64 developer preview on an Acer Aspire 5740 running an older Intel GMA HD, and the current driver for it is Intel? Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows 7* 64, Windows Vista* 64 (zip)v15.22.54.64.2622Download Link: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...=3231&lang=eng
My current Driver is WDDM 1.1. I've tried following the procedure here http://www.eightforums.com/hardware-...00-3000-a.html, but after running the setup executable, the only thing that is installed is the uninstall files, then nothing happens, and when I restart, there's no intel updates when i check updates. I'm guessing it's just the difference in the two drivers that doesn't let it work with this one, so has anybody figured out how to get that particular driver working in Windows 8 or have any idea how to?

Hi, You can get around the restriction imposed by the oem graphics package by manually installing the Intel Graphics driver as follows. First, download the latest Intel HD4600 driver for your notebook from the link below and save it to your Downloads folder - you need the first option ( ie win64_154025.4463.zip ).  Note:  If you wish to install a different driver version from Intel, the method is still the same. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26079/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen-?... When done, download and install the .64bit version of 7-Zip on the link below. http://www.7-zip.org/ When you've installed 7-Zip, open your Downloads folder, right click on the win64_154025.4463.zip package, select 7-Zip, select extract files and then click Ok. Cut this newly extracted folder and paste it on your Desktop so it's easy to find. When done, hold down the Windows key and press R Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter. In Device Manager, expand Display adapters, right click the Intel 4600 device and select 'Update Driver Software'. In the following window, select 'Browser my computer for driver software' and then select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'. In the next window, click the 'Have Disk' button and then browse to the extracted Intel win64_154025.4463 folder you pasted on your Desktop. Browse into the sub-folder Graphics, left click on t... So I updated my driver the other day, fix the color like I usually do, but when I start any full screen game, the color scheme reverts back to the default which as I said is way to dark.

Is there any way to fix this without having to revert back to outdated drivers?

Hi,
I have problem with my Intel HD graphics 5500 driver.
Some days ago my display started to show distorted objects when I scrolled down, so I updated my driver to the latest Intel's one. The updated drive caused problem with starting my Windows 7 64 bit. The Windows did not start at all.
So I uninstalled the Intel's driver and install this one from your site, which is recommended for my device. My Intel HD graphics 5500 driver does not recognize your driver at all.
How can I resolve this issues?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525.
I seem to have broken my display when I was trying out the Intel GMA Driver's feature 'Flip 180' which supposedly flips the monitor's display. Instead it exhibited what would happen if you change your resolution to 640x480, with really large icons. I tried to restart the computer but when I checked in my display settings it says something like:

"The currently selected driver cannot be used. It was written for a previous version of Windows and is no longer compatible with this version.

The system has started using the default VGA driver."

And in my screen saver settings:
"The screen saver can't run because it requires a newer video card or one that's compatible with Direct3D."

Aside from that, the computer works perfectly fine, but I don't want this to be a problem in the future. What happened here? Is there any way I could fix this?

If the specs move with the models and their textures, it just looks like anomalies that the graphics card for whatever reason can't display right. If this doesn't do it on new games, I wouldn't be worried.

This is NOT official HP Customer Support and I, as most other persons on this forum, do not work for HP. This is a peer-to-peer user supported forum for HP products. HP maintains no official presence on this forum and it is unlikely that HP will respond in an official capacity. Any reply from a HP employee represents their own opinion and not that of HP's. It appears you have the latest production release of the Intel Graphics Driver for Windows 10. The only other driver listed on Intel's support website is 14.40.26.4474 which is a BETA version. This BETA driver doesn't appear to address the issue you are having. HP hasn't made it difficult to update the driver. The Intel driver installer is what is telling you it can't install the driver. This is because there is a customized version of the driver on the computer and replacing it with a generic driver may cause issues or loss of functionality of the hardware. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Please click the White KUDOS "Thumbs Up" to show your appreciation

Determine the chipset of your motherboard or contact your friend. You need to install the 'chipset' drivers for the motherboard. This includes the AGP driver. After this is done remove any existing graphics card drivers from the add/remove programs section. reboot. Install new drivers. reboot.

i've been in the bios and disabled the HD audio controller in the integrated peripherals, is this the right thing to do and i am not using an original copy of XP, will this be causing the problem.

nice one

Hi everyone,

Right, i installed XP pro (but going the long round by installing win98 then upgrading to xp pro... only way i could do it!) now i am having bad issues with my graphics card driver.

Windows thinks my graphics card is a different model to what it is really is.
I have the driver i want it to use, but it keeps crashing before it finishes installing the correct driver.

Any suggestions?

Oh, something weird i've also noticed that may or may not have anything to do with my problem is for some reason my OS HDD is still FAT32 from my win98 install, rather than the usual NTFS... Could this be a problem?

Matt.

I'm running a dell inspiron 1545 (vista 32).

When trying to open the intel graphics driver properties it won't open (no error message)
When I try to change the display settings I get the error message "the currently selected graphics driver can not be used (written for a older version of windows)
When I run dixdiag I get the error that direct input isn't responding.
I tried to download drivers from intel but I got the error message that my machine doesen't meet the system requirements (I'm not entirly sure I picked the right software)

All the drivers from the dell site appear to do nothing and I've updated from direct 9 to 11.

Still no fix

If anyone can help me fix it give me your email and I'll gift you a itunes voucher or something, this problem is causing huge problems for me.

Much appreciated

I was playing Crysis a little bit ago, like I've done for a long time so the game isnt the problem, and it froze up and I had to restart. After that the computer started freezing up a LOT more like 3 times in an hour. The last time it froze, I restarted and there was no signal going to the monitor. The graphics card is an nvidia 8800 gt. After a while I plugged the moniter into the onboard graphics card which is an nvidia 8200 and it booted fine. I've used this card for about a year and havent had one problem with it at all. I think it may be a driver because I had recently used a program to backup my drivers and Im thinking that might have done something. If it is just a driver problem, then how do I re-install the driver when I can't even see anything when Im plugged into the card. Can I update the driver to the other while Im on this one? Because it doesn't show the other graphics card in the devices panel.
Also, I just noticed, that when I clicked my computer properties its showing I have 1.75 gb of ram when until now it has always showed 3. Could it be a ram problem?

I recently purchased an Acer Veriton (M498G) desktop which has an i5-650 processor, Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) and Intel HD Graphics listed as the video card. I also purchased a PNY nVIDIA Quadro FX 380 PCI-E card for improved picture editing and home video viewing and editing. I have already replaced the original 300 wattt power supply to a 430 watt Antec Truepower I had on hand and boosted the RAM to 8 gigs from the original 4.

Question 1) Am I getting any improvement in visual quality or system speed with the Quadro or is it a waste of money and I should just save up to buy a bigger video card? This card was on sale for $115.

If I am getting improvement then I need to ask another question.

Question 2) Instructions for the Quadro installation are as follows...

1--Uninstall the existing VGA driver.
-Remove the existing Display Driver via "Add or Remove Porgrams".
-Shut down your computer.

2--Remove your Existing Graphics Board (or Disable Integrated 3D Graphics Controller).

skipping instructions on how to remove existing graphics board

-Systems with integrated (also know as on-board) 3D graphics may require you to disable the integrated 3D graphics system. Consult the owners or vendor manual that came with your PC on how to properly do this.

So how do I disable the onboard? just uninstall the driver? The only driver I can find on the uninstall menu is "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver" does this sound correct? I did find the option in BIOS and ... Read more

A:how to disable Intel HD Graphics to install PCI-E graphics card

It's likely to be an improvement, but check it and see.
Onboard graphics are disabled in the BIOS (Try looking under "Integrated Peripherals" or something similar.
You probably don't need to do this, but it's nice to know how.

I am not sure if this is where it belongs, or if it is a Graphics Card issue. I have an Acer Aspire 7741z-4433 with an Intel(R) Pentium(R) p6200 (2.13 GHz, 3MB 1.3 cache). This only happens to me while I am playing The Sims 3. I have the game set on the lowest quality settings, even though my laptop "claims" to be HD LED, etc. This issue still happens. As you may know I cannot replace the graphics card as it is apart of the motherboard, and to buy a new motherboard with a better graphics card would cost more than a new computer. I have been the my manufacture's website and tried installing an update of the graphics card, and that didn't do the trick either. I am at my wits end, and I just want to play the game without it shutting down and freezing my computer. The reason I know the error is because I do Alt + Tab to get back to the desktop. The way it acts up while I am in game is the screen blacks out but I can still see the software's mouse, and then it blinks a couple times and then freezes completely, causing me to do a hard shut down. What can I do to resolve this issue?

Hello,

I have a farily low end computer that has

Motherboard: Winfast (not sure of model number)
CPU: 2.6GHz AMD Athlon 64 x2

I have fitted a 7200 card into the motherboard and uninstalled the motherboard graphics driver. Then when I got to install the card driver which I got off the internet it re-installs the motherboard graphics drive and says that it has Nvidia 6200 or Nvidia 6100B or something like that as a graphics card.

It is starting to anoy me now because I can't play even old games on it at the moment.

Any ideas would be great

hi. i am currently having this monitor driver/graphics card problem which i really cant figure out whether it's the monitor driver or the graphics card problem.

my display is set to 1920x1080 but it isn't displaying correctly: it has a 'bigger screen' than what it displays and i had to point my cursor to one side of the screen to "scroll the screen".

so is this problem got something to do with my graphics card or the display driver?
or i was thinking maybe some viruses/worms screwed up some system files.

sorry i'm kinda bad with my english, doesnt really know how to explain.

edit: oh yea i forgot to mention. sometimes when i start up my com it loads normal, otherwise it loads up in this eff-ed up resolution.

Hi there,
i recently installed a nVidia quadro fx 1700 in my dell optiplex760 MT, i have installed windows 8.1 on it
but the correct drivers were not available on the windows so i downloaded the drivers from official website, when i installed the driver, some green and red lined blocks appeared on the screen. When i roll back the drivers the blocks disappear.
can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance.

A:Video Graphics Card driver problem Optiplex760 MT

It appears that you have solved the issue through your own troubleshooting. You tested the newest Nvidia driver which showed the issue while an older driver did not, so the fault is with the newer driver, not the video card or the operating system. All you can do is wait for Nvidia to come out with another driver to test.

Hi

my son formatted my laptop last night because been having problems due to being slow etc.. He has put me on windows 7 ultimate . However i tried to alter the screen resoulution size because it was to big and looked stretched and found i couldn't. So i updated the graphics card driver via the properties tab on the display settings (forgive me if i going on but wanted to explain what i done i know not a l;ot about computers) then it came up laptop needed to restart to implement the settings .
When it restarted it came on the windows is starting then went to a blank screen and would not start.
So eventually after switching off i started in safe mode with networking and went to system restore , it now works but my screen problem is same (stretched and can only go up to 1080 by 860)
My son is now on his way to tenerife lol leaving me with a laptop doing my head in .
Can someone tell me in ways i can understand to try and resolve this?
many thanks for anyone reading this and try to help me .
