I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just bought this flex 5,(80XB0001US) Windows 10, when it first starts up the touch screen workes, after the windows updates, it no longer works. Any ideas, Tech support has not been able to help. This is the second computer in 3 days that has done this. I was told by support to return the first one, and the second did the same thing. I have reloaded drivers, and reset BIOS to default, and also updated them.

My Ideapad Flex 15 had a Windows 10 update a couple of weeks ago. A week to 10 days later, I discovered that my touch screen was no longer working.

I've checked the Device Manager control panels and drivers and everything is up to date.
I did the uninstall of the HID-Compliant Touch Screen Device & Reboot that is noted elsewhere on the Lenovo Search Results and that simply re-installed the device which still didn't work.

At one point I was able to access an update log, which said that the Windows update was done, but below this showed that the update had deleted 2 Lenovo Systems Driver Packages.  Should Windows remove stuff that the MFR included to run the computer??  (Of course once this info window closed, I haven't been able to get it back again either.)

Has anyone else had a similar issue or have a solution??
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jim

Hello,

we are interested for a touch screen laptop, but this is more for my wife who is a teacher.
She likes the way our Samsung Note handles the S-pen and she would want to use a simialr pen with the laptop at classes.

Is there such a facility for pens with sharp edges to be used with a Flex for example?
Or we should jsut get those black, rubber, thick capacitive pens?

thanks

A:Flex - touch screen Pen/Stylus?

Here is a pen great for writing: http://www.adonit.net/jot/pro/Just search for 'best capacitive stylus' on Google. Pick the one you like mostAre you interested in the ThinkPad 10 perhaps? It has a digitizer pen, it will also disable touch input while the pen is being used. Which is quite useful. It is a small step up to 700 EUR. Also get the keyboard dock.http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/tablets/thinkpad/thinkpad-10/I can say with 100% certainty your wife will love it. I got its more expensive brother the ThinkPad Helix. If a student can love it, so can the teacher right ;-) ?The ThinkPad 10 has many flexible options she might be interested in. You won't find anything better for that price.

Hi, i had my motherboard replaced due some manufacturing fault. When i got my laptop back it wasnīt working quite well so i decided to reinstal operating system. I used Backup button and restored my laptop to initial settings. This got me properly working laptop with win 8.1. Afrer i upgraded to win 10 my touch screen stoped working so i did a little research and found some topics with similar problems but any of those  didnīt solve my problem. ? This is screenshot of my deice manager, that unknown USB is my touch screen ( it says: unknown USB device (descriptor request failed)). I tried uninstal this driver, when i do that my touch screen starts working for like 3 seconds and than it stops working again. By the way this is rare to see box called HID in my device manager usually it doesnīt even show up. I tried update drivers through windows update. That didnīt change a thing so i update almost every driver manually (i download all of them from official lenovo support site) . And guess what, that did not worked eather. I am not sure which other solution i tried, because am trying to solve this problem for quite long time, but i feel like i tried everything (even reinstaling win 10) and didnīt even get close to solving this issue.Do you have some idea how to solve this problem?Sorry for grammar mistakes.

Hi all, I've owned my Flex 5 for a little under a month now. Truh be told, so far I haven't really used the touch screen, save for on the first day when I was doodling a bit using the pen. Today, I touched the screen quite by accident, and then realised I didn't get any response, so I tried again, only to realize, the touch screen is fully unresponsive. I checked the device manager. it says it's functioning properly.. I checked the website and everything is up to date driver wise. I disabled/enabled/uninstalled, restarted the HID complient touch screen, all to no avail. I'ts true I rarely use the touch screen feature so far, but it sucks to know that in a little under a month, I'm having issues with this feature already. I even went so far as to reset my computer, on the off chance there was some issue/bug. No change. Has anyone had such an issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

A:Flex 5 Touch screen not working

I've had this issue as well. It's not an isolated incident. There are hundreds of posts online related to Lenovo Flex 5-1750 (80XB) talking about how the touch screen has stopped working. It happened to me after I had this device for less than a month. I was unable to update the driver. Even with a tech support person from Lenove we could not solve the issue. So I was told to return the laptop because it's a hardware issue that they need to fix. Yesterday I wrote in another post and said that Lenovo needs to make a driver available so that people can re-install it. Well, it seems like that's just what they did because this morning I've been able to update the driver and the touch screen is back. Windows 10 was able to troubleshoot and apply a driver update. This may or may not work for your situation but the problem is real.

Hi, I have a Flex 14-2 with a FHD (1920x1080) touch screen.  The screen has cracked - the glass is cracked and the screen is dead (black). I can get signal through the HDMI output on an external screen which makes me think the issue is with the screen and not with the GPU, so I'm looking to replace my screen. My question is whether I can replace the LCD screen but get a regular glass on top instead of a digitizer, as I don't really use touch functionality.  If so, where can I get a simple glass to go on top of the LCD? Thank you!

Hello, I need help fixing the Touch Screen on my Flex15D Ideapad. I did a fresh install to Windows 10 and the Touch Screen stopped working. I tried every solution on these forums by going into Device Manager and disabling/uninstalling the HID compliant touch screen driver along with the HID Usb driver in that same section.  I also checked the Mice and Other Pointing Devices>USB Touchscreen Controller(A111) and that doesn't exist there. I checked to make sure the USB Hub is enabled and not disabled under Universal Serial Bus controllers section. I tried installing every Driver in the book from the Support section. I even tried reverting back to Windows 8.1 and STILL NOTHING and I went through all the same steps as I did on Windows 10. And apparently this is a rampant problem with Lenovo Touch Screen laptops with no real solution. Is there anything that works? Thanks.

Hello; I purchased 2 Flex 3 laptops a few weeks ago.  One of them had an intermittent touchscreen problem.  It boiled down to a USB driver issue.  In the Device Manager under USB Controllers I got a yellow Triangle with an exclamation next to "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)".  If I disabled and then enabled that driver the touchscreen would start working.  I ended up returning that laptop thinking it was just a faulty unit, but today my 2nd Flex 3 did the same thing.  As far as I know all my drivers are updated an I'm running Windows 10. I don't really want to have to disable and enable drivers every other day so I'm wondering if anyone has come across this issue and if so if there is a fix. Attached is a screenshot of the Device Manager.

After consultation with Lenovo Turkey, which was insisting on recovery, I recovered my ideapad turning back to an image taken by Win10 two months ago. This step did not help. Some how next day after recovery in the morning it worked only for a few hours then stopped working again. I tried to disable and enable the "HID-compliant device" or other relaten USB items and reinstalled/activated, it did not help.I hope it is a software/driver failure and this problem will be solved soon by Lenovo.

So last night I came home from dinner and my laptop was on the floor. It's fallen off my bed before so I didn't think much of it until I turned it on and it didn't respond to my touch. After some investigation, everything that has to do with the touch screen is gone. There are no setting on the laptop for the touch screen and there is no way to calibrate the screen. I'd like to try and avoid factory resetting the laptop as I do not have a way to backup my system right now. (My family member who helped me with this in the past lives in another state now) I also noticed that the computer itself didn't pick up the serial number... I'm not sure if this has anything to do with my problem but it was very off that the setting said the serial number was invalid. I called the support line (the only one I could find was the premium line, what happened to the old one???) and they wont do anything unless I sign up for their monthly package or pay $130 (plus tax I'm sure) to let them remote control my laptop. I've had bad experienced with this and so I'm not going to allow them to do this. Is there any way to download a driver or something that would fix this problem? I have full access to my computer (besides what lenovo has blocked me out of automatically) so let me know if there is something I could look at and show you for more information. I've tried to search for this topic and couldn't find anything related to this. Thanks for the help.Kass.

Hello everyone. I must say that it is a lovely laptop but the touch screen issue is making me very upset. I called  Lenovo and Microsoft support and those people doesn't even have a bit of knowledge. Many incertain process and lot of doubts in them. But it can't be a hardware problem. I bought it 1 week ago and when I opened the factory sealed box the touch screen worked perfectly! And a few hours later would stop working. No pen and touch input available, no hid compliant touch screen in device manager. I read almost every thread about this complain in this forum. Tried everything without success. The laptop is 99% good.. But without the touch screen is like trash. Hope someone can understand and if there's a solution, please tell me and I beg you send me specifics links or specifics procedures, please don't tell me "go to support.lenovo.com"  or "do a system recovery or windows 10 update", etc. Thank you.

I downgraded a Flex 3-1130 from Windows 10 to Windows 7 32 bit. I was able to get all the devices working except the touch screen. It worked in Win10, but cant get it going in Win7. There are zero 32 bit Win7 drivers on the support page for this product, I had to get each and every device working by searching the internet, a tiresome task. In the device manager, there are no HID pointing devices to enable. I tried installing the touch pack for windows 7 from Microsoft, and it failed, and tells me that I need a computer with a touch screen. There are however (3) unknown devices in the device manager, all with the same hardware ID.... ACPI\808622C1 When I search google for the hardware ID above I get that this ID may be associated with Intel(R) Serial IO I2C ES Controller driver, however when I look that up, it seems the closest thing to that is the IntelŪ Processor I/O Controller Driver for Windows 7. When I install that, it does not do the trick. I also use the unhide feature in device manager, and there are no HID pointing devices. I dont think it is a BIOS issue, because the touch screen works in Windows 10. I also tried the intel driver update utility and some driver support software, nothing found it. Nor did windows update. I would appreciate any ideas how I can get this working.

The touchscreen on my Flex 15 stopped working. I am not sure exactly when, but in the last few months.  I am already on Win10, and it has worked fine since the Win10 upgrade over a year ago.  In Device Manager, I can see the HID Touch Screen entry.  I tried uninstalling and deleting it, followed by a restart.  Reinstalled itself on start-up, but no joy.  It claims to be working.   I have seen other similar posts saying to delete entries under Mice... but I don't see any Touch Screen entries there.Interestingly, I see most of the drivers have Event dates of 2-Jul 2017, saying "Device migrated". I am suspecting some delightful Micorsoft "improvement" on that date may have been the cuplrit, but I also feel like the touch screen may have been working after that date.  Unfortunately, I don't use the touch screen very often, but I DO need it now and then. Thoughts?

After having issues with my laptop, diagnostics showed that I needed to replace my HDD. It was replaced with an SSD, and windows 10 was reinstalled (as that was the OS before replacement). Now the laptop shows that there is "no pen or touch input" in the control panel and the Human Interfacing for touch screen is missing. Both Windows Update and HPSA have been no help in finding the driver for it or in giving any useful information. I just don't really want to have paid extra for touch that doesn't work....

Hi, If thats the case then your best bet is to update the drivers using hp support site. I am going to include pictures so you could follow the steps properly. Go to https://support.hp.com then type the product number to the search bar  Click Software and Drivers  Then Click Go  Select the current version of windows you are using  Then look for the drivers you seek that you believe missing.  Good luck!

Here is the Service Manual: Manual Unfortunately HP does not "spare" the glass and and digitizer as a separate part. For this you have to go into the aftermarket: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-HP-Envy-X360-m6-w103dx-M6-W104dx-15-6-Digitizer-Touch-Screen-Glass-US-FA... Note the warning on this auction. You are going to have to disassemble the unit to check the digitizer and see if it matches the one in this auction.  If not we can help you find the right one.

I recently changed the screen of my HP ENVY x360 [model: 15t-aq100] with this exact screen I got from eBay. I took out three cables and the little chipboard thingy, put back the little chipboard thingy and three cables and--voilā! The screen turns on and I get an image and, besides my little issue, it works fine.

My issue is that the touch screen function doesn't work at all--the computer recognizes that there is a "HID-compliant touch screen" when I open up my device manager and that it is enabled--but even after updating whatever software it wants me to update--even going so far as updating Windows 10 *shudder*--I don't get a response when my greasy little fingers caress the screen. The touch capability was working before and after the fall--I don't think any other cables or sensors got damaged, just the screen.

So my question becomes this: the screen I bought was touchscreen capable, right? It looks exactly like the old cracked one. How can I tell whether or not the screen itself is touch screen capable? If you don't think it's the screen I bought that's the problem, but something I did, what should I do? I tried inserting and reinserting cables and restarting the computer. I haven't tried searching for drivers for the screen, but I don't know where or how to find those. I'm honestly at a loss of ideas as of how to resolve this, so please...help?

Someone else already posted this same question and never replied to the person asking questions.  So here's my attempt. I have a HP ProBook 450 G2 with the i3-4005U processor and it does not currently have a touchscreen.    I would like to consider adding the digitizer which I am finding for sale online, but I cannot tell whether or not it's just a matter of buying the digitizer or if the whole display would need to be replaced. This is the digitizer i was looking at (or a similar one):http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-HP-Probook-450-G2-Laptop-Touch-Screen-Digitizer-Glass-15-6-69-15I05-T02-... My Product Number is L8E08UT,  printed under the battery. Also,  second question related to the first.     If I can just install that digitizer, does it rely on the LCD Panel being the 1368x768 resolution?      I was contemplating upgrading to a 1080P panel from LG instead like others have done.  (I know this is completely unsupported, just not sure if the digitizers were resolution specific) Thanks in advance! Brian

About a month ago, I dropped my iPod Touch Second Generation and the screen cracked. It is still usable, but I would like to repair it. Apple gave me a quote of $120 dollars for the repair, however I have seen things on online stores like Amazon and eBay for less than $15. Are these safe to use and good quality? If so, where do you recommend I buy the replacement? I have read several reviews on such products warning me that I need to also buy a chassis/bezel, etc., because by opening the iPod these snap...or that I may also need to replace my home button...I am not sure exactly how broken my iPod is or what I need to purchase.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hello everybody , first time posting here but I've been a regular guest for a long time . This forum has been of great help ! I have searched through the forum for an answer but the information became conflicting and confusing so I thought I would ask here .The screen on my ASPIRE V5-571P-6604 is cracked . There's a straight 3 inch diagonal gash on it just as if someone sliced it with a knife . I'm still able to see everything on the screen but the touch function is lost so I need to replace it . I've looked online but I don't know exactly which parts I need . There are advertisements for the screen and then the digitizer and then the bezel and then possibly other stuff . Can someone please tell me what exactly do I need to purchase to replace that screen so that the crack is gone and the touch function is restored ?Again everything else on the laptop is functional and intact except the crack on the screen glass and the resulting loss of the touch functionality . Thank you in advance !

A:ASPIRE V5-571P touch screen replacement ?

You may only need to replace the Touch digitizer if the screen is undamaged. It is glass in front of the display.See the third item down herehttp://www.screencountry.com/index.php?section=products&model=ASPIRE%20V5-571P-6604&brand=AcerThe manual doesn't show how to do that though. It might be a lot easier to just buy the complete ass'y.

My touchscreen cracked- but I bought a $200 insurence policy from Staples, which is where I purchase my computer (and I will NEVER do that again and I don't recommend it). The policy covered accidental damages, such as a cracked screen, but after jumping through hoop after hoop to file a claim, Staples called me saying that they won't fix it becuase it's too expensive, even though I bought insurence. They offered a refund for my computer, but I refused because I adore my Yoga.      I'm really hoping someone can point me in the direction of a third party repairer, or even somewhere where I can buy a replacement touchscreen and have someone like Geek Squad install it. Any suggestions?

Get the refund for the computer and buy yourself another yoga. I would even request for the old machine back, make a OKR image. Then nuck reformat the hdd and give it back to staples for a full refund. Once done, restore the new yoga with the image you made.
