Preferred Solution: New Lenovo Vantage Version: Lenovo battery gauge icon no more available?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello!I recently noticed that the Lenovo battery gauge icon is missing from my taskbar, I can't activate it, there's no way, I right-click the taskbar - > Toolbars -> Lenovo baterry Gauge, and it doesnt work. I also open Lenovo Settings and click "about and setting" and then try to set on "activate lenvovo battery gauge" , and nothing happens either, actually, the icon turns "on" but when I click elsewhere it goes back to "off". What can I do? What's happening?

Some days ago, I found out the Lenovo Vantage battery gauge on taskbar disappeared. Even the menu to turn it on or off in Lenovo Vantage also disappeared too. Is Lenovo going to release next update soon to make it available, or is there any way for me to get it back? I'd already reinstalled the Lenovo Vantage and got all newest drivers installed, but nothing helped.

Hi, my P1 has been doing this since I got it. Installed the latest Power Management driver and hoped it would be fixed as the release notes indicated a similar issue was addressed (but for Windows 7). No luck. When I click the battery maximizer gauge, the menu pops up for a nanosecond then is gone. I tried the solution in here https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Vantage-Knowledge-Base/How-to-fix-Lenovo-Vantage-Toolbar-Battery... and it worked initially but then the behavior returned. It's only a minor annoyance ... but it would be nice to fix. Anyone? TIA! -kj-

Hi, I do have a really annoying issue with the Battery Gauge in the taskbar. My Taskbar is set up to autohide.Everytime the percentage in the Battery Gauge drops (not tested during charging so far) to the next figure (e.g. 80% to 79%) the taskbar appears for a second and hides after that. This is super annoying because it shifts the focus away from any window I am working in.ßEspecially if I write something I type and nothing happens, sometimes the cursor does not even focus in the window I was in after the taskbar autohides again. I did test to disable "Battery related messages" but no luck.I did unpin the battery gauge from the taskbar and never had this issue again so I assume that this is caused by the Lenovo Vantage app. Current "Lenovo Vantage" app version is: 4.27.32.0 Is this a know issue?Any ideas how to fix this and still keep the battery gauge in the taskbar? Thank you very much.

I bought lenovo y500 two days ago in INDIA.  In the lenovo energy management system 8.0, I found a battery calibration option and decided to do it.  The steps mentioned there were as follows. 1. Full charge2. Full discharge  The process performed full charging followed by complete discharge of the battery which caused the laptop to shut down.   When I tried turning on my laptop, it could not start.  The battery charging indicator LED wasnt switched on even though the power cord was inserted into the laptop.  I could start the laptop only after removing the battery.   Once the laptop was on, I inserted the battery back in and it began to charge.  After about 50% of charging, I removed the power cord and inserted it again.  Now the battery couldnt resume charging.  I again had to shut down the laptop and repeat the above steps of inserting battery after switching on the laptop without battery.  Only then the battery would resume charging. After this, I decided to allow the battery to charge to 100%. But, the charging remained stuck at 99% and could not fully charge the battery.  When I removed and reinserted the power cord, the same problem persisted of battery not resuming charging. Please help me with this problem.  I read on few forums about uninstalling microsoft ACPI which supposedly solves this issue.  However, ACPI returns back after I restart my laptop.I also tried switch... A:LENOVO Y500 BATTERY NOT CHARGING AFTER USING LENOVO'S BATTERY GAUGE CALIBRATION

ADMIN Edit - While the original post below is marked as the solution, because service will be required if the battery will no longer charge after performing a battery reset, I am adding a Lenovo update here to confirm.   Normal operation will allow the battery to relearn its capacity characteristics when using the battery reset function.  Typically this is not needed in normal use..   Batteries are equipped with a safety feature that will permanently disconnect them (like a fuse) if cell imbalance or an internal short is detected.   This tends to be statistically infrequent, but also normal, and would require a battery replacement.  (Batteries have a 1 year warranty).   This battery feature can also  produce similar results to what is being discussed in the thread, so it should first be considered by service.   This particular  forum discussion also involves a situation that could affect a limited number of systems, and could lead service to replace the system board during warranty.

If your system experiences these symptoms, please contact service during the warranty period.

I have enabled the Lenovo Battery Gauge via Lenovo Vantage.  Two questions: 1.  From time to time (no regular schedule) it randomly disappears.  Why? 2.  Yesterday (1-30-2018) I had to re-enable it, and it appears to have doubled or tripled in size.  It used to be a nice, compact little icon, and now it's huge and a little distracting.  I couldn't find a setting to return it to its original size. Thank you for any assistance you might provide.

At some point in the last few days or weeks, the green battery indicator simply vanished from my X1 Yoga (Win10) without a trace, and it seems I'm not the only one with that problem. I tried downloading it from the support page, but the software was removed from the list, and a link from google only leads to a "page-not-found" message. So, what's going on? Will there be a new version of the battery indicator? Why was the old one uninstalled and not just simply updated via system update?

My Y50-70 battery is still in good condition after 3.5 years of use, I can tell by the fact that it lasts for more than 2.5 hours in High Performance mode going from 100% to 20%. I mostly use the laptop plugged in with Conservation Mode on. I regularily do cycles of the battery mostly when I'm traveling with Conservation Mode off. The cycle count is around 200, so I know it's half way its service life. However when the battery reaches around 20% I need to imediately plug it in, because then it could go down to 0% in a minute. In fact when it shows 20%, the moment I plug it in AC the battery gauge shows imediately 0% and then is slowly going up. I'm like 95% sure that the problem is with the battery gauge, and there was a Battery Gauge Reset option in the Lenovo Utilities preinstalled on the Windows 8 OS that came preinstalled when I bought it. Windows 8 and 8.1 were such a disasters but luckily then in less than a year came Windows 10 and everything ran smooth, except for the fact that Lenovo dropped half of the utilities to perform useful tasks like Fan Dust Removal and Battery Gauge Reset, instead they are offering useless software like Photo Master in the Support Section. Somehow I managed to install two years ago a version of Lenovo Quick Optimizer that does the trick for performing Fan Dust Removal but no luck with Battery Gauge Reset. My Lenovo battery gauge / indicator disappears. I'm on Windows 10. If I right-click the taskbar and remove then re-add it, it comes back. Hello everyone! My name is Kevin and I've had my Lenovo Y410P for a little less than 2 years. So recently I downloaded Battery Bar as I was realizing that my battery duration was slowly receding.Battery Bar, a program that shows battery level and wear, stated that my 6 cell battery had experienced 54.3% wear. I browsed the internet for specific tips on how to increase my battery duration and came upon battery recalibration. I tried it a couple times manually, but I didn't get any results. So, I then turned to the battery gauge full-charge/discharge function in my Energy Management. After running that through the night, I realized the next morning that the battery was depleted and I couldn't turn on my laptop or even charge my battery unless I followed the steps:- Remove the battery from the laptop.- Plug in the AC adapter and use the laptop without a battery.- The battery can be reattached. The battery is able to start charging. - If I remove the AC adapter for a second and reattach it, it will not be recognized and it will not charge the battery. As of now, Battery Bar shows that I have 0% wear of 52,830 mWh which is significantly less than the full capacity of a 6 cell battery; however, it's still better than what I had before. Anyways, does anyone else have this problem? And if you have, how did you resolve this issue? Thank you!

Beware the Lenovo Vantage app. My PC (Carbon X1 gen 6) started to auto wake up every weekday morning at 05:30 from hibernate, even when I was away on holiday. I had a frustrating time trawling through scheduled tasks, power plan settings and device power settings, all to no avail. The powercfg sleep study and wake timer diagnostics did not help either - it just said unknown wake reason. The culprit? It's Lenovo's own app - Lenovo Vantage. There is a (new?) feature called Smart Standby that automatically set itself to ON. This automatically wakes your computer every weekday at 05:30 ready for work. It must save all of 10 seconds start up on my laptop. I've turned it off and hurrah, the PC stays hibernated. Also it fixes another issue - I found that the "Hibernate After" time setting was being changed from my value. Yes, Lenovo Vantage was silently zapping that too. So beware this dangerous app. Shame on Lenovo for turning this feature on by default and not explaining its consequences better.

Hello together, I'm using a new Thinkpad L380 for about 4 weeks and have been experiencing battery drain issues when off since the first day. After all possible corrections found on this forum (Bios Update, Win10 QuickStart, Managment Foundation... and some more) it now comes down to a final observation:When I shut down the computer and the battery threshold in Lenovo Vantage is off, it will keep its charge for two or more days without loosing a single percent of battery charge. If I shut off the computer with battery threshold activated (e.g. after using it at a docking station), the charge will decrease by approx. 6% every 12 hours, so after a weekend without use more than 30% of the battery charge has disappeared. I was very surprised to find out, that this for sure is the only remaining issue, but I can repeat it over and over again and everytime I deactivate the battery threshold function, my battery will keep its charge when shut down. Is there any solution or improved Lenovo Vantage functionality (current is 4.12.13) known or to be expected to solve this issue? Thank you for any helpful reply

I have just received my C340 and activated Lenovo Vantage which found a BIOS update which I ran. It is now running BIOS version 1.6. BUt when I go onto the Lenovo Support page and it automatically and correctly registers my C340, I am informed of a newer version of the BIOS update (2.02). I do not get it. Why is there a newer version here than the version that Lenovo Vantage finds? And what I am supposed to do in a situation like this? Do I ignore that there is a newer version - or do I actually download it and install it? I would like an answer from a Lenovo representative to this issue. Unfortunately, this is not a very good start with this new Lenovo C340 notebook. When I logged in to the support page by Lenovo and it registered the notebook automatically, it also told me that the warranty ran out in 1970. What???! So now I have put in a case for having them correct this. But this is really not a good start

A:Ideapad C340 - just updated BIOS via Lenovo Vantage but a new version available on support page

Hi BlipBlopDK,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Each machine models have different variants. Not all updates can be applicable for every variants.

With the BIOS, reading the text file first is important doing it manually. If the changes from the older version applies to specific issue you have then you may proceed but if Vantage did not assign it automatically and you do not have any issues then there may not be any need for it.

My warranty is showing incorrect dates and duration? Why is this happening ?
If you had purchased your machine from a retailer, business partner, reseller, Lenovo starts the Base Warranty at the time the shipment was purchased by the retailer, business partner, or reseller from Lenovo. To compensate for the time the computer may have sat in a warehouse or on the shelf unsold, Lenovo generally adds an additional month to the Base Warranty, Lenovo allows date to be adjusted.

Here is the article that you can follow for the steps.

About the warranty date correction, some stores would do it for you while other may not since buyer may have a different user for it aside from the fact that personal information should be kept privately.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

I am using Lenovo Vantage on my T580 to  enable charging limit to 80% (on both batteries - I have normal 24Wh secondary pack). Today, I wanted to charge my laptop to 100% because I am going on trip without AC, so I disabled battery limiter feature in Lenovo Vantage, but only secondary (removable) battery charged to 100%. Internal battery stay on 80%.  This seems like major software bug. Only way to resolve it (kinda) right now is to remove removable battery and set limit to 100% in Lenovo Vantage. Even after doing this, my internal battery stopped charging at 97% (battery icon no longer have animation of charging) and I am getting 1% per hour. After 3 hours of charging without second battery I am still on 98% So how am I supposed to charge both my batteries to 100% now? Is this some kind of joke in addition to MX150 throttling problems? This model really starting to piss me off... PS: BIOS and all recommended drivers are up to date. Checked today.

I have saved a T60p, a T61 and a W510 from scrapping, partly replaced battery, CPU, RAM and changed to a SSD and successfully installed Windows 10 x64 version 1709 onto them. As least the T61 and W510 are now quite useful. Then I remembered that Thinkpads did have a Power Manager for Windows 7, and found that for Windows 10 Lenovo Vantage from the Windows Store seems to be the best option. Unfortunately, since installing Vantage, after hibernating Windows 10, the battery drains about 20% over 24 hours, and I have not found any explanation for that.Interestingly, the battery does not drain after hibernating when:o) I remove and reinsert the battery for a few secondso) power on, booting into Ubuntu and doing a shutdowno) I do a shutdown instead of hibernatingI really would like use Vantage to define a charging threshold from about 40% to 80% to enhance the life of the (new) batteries, but the described significant draining during hibernation is unacceptable. Does anyone know a solution for this problem (3 different laptops experience the same problem, even when just installing Windows 1709 and Vantage)? Thanks a lot!
