Lockups and freezing in most games

Q: Lockups and freezing in most games

Hi guys, im not sure if this is the right place to post, but it is game related.

Some games that i install on my pc (usually quite new games eg. half life 2, battlefield vietnam) every ten minutes or so the game will freeze and i have to use control alt delete to close it down. I have tried all the standard troubleshooting on game websites, like changing my directx settings, but nothing works. I emailed some guy at ea help and support and after loads of suggestions he said he didnt know and it might be to do with my hardware. My pc can handle the games, as Doom 3 worked fine.

My specs are: radeon 9800 pro, AMD athlon 3000+, 512mb ram, creative sb audigy ls soundcard.

If you can help me i would be reeeeeally grateful, this problem has been going on for ages now. thanks

Preferred Solution: Lockups and freezing in most games

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I keep having problems with lockups/freezing in games - mostly new, graphics-intensive ones (Oblivion, Far Cry, BF2, etc). The game will freeze right where it is and a high-pitched noise will come from the speakers. It requires a hard reset. My graphics card is NOT overheating, though I used to have that problem, but now stays at 40C idle 62C full load. (I don't know what kind of temperatures the rest of the computer should be at - Rivatuner/ATITOOL detects Ambient going up to 50C and Core going up to 60C). I have all brand new audio and video drivers, as well as new DirectX. This problem has been going on since I first got my computer.

Specs:
Dell XPS Gen 3
3.4GHz Pentium 4 with HT
4Gb Dual In-Line RAM
ATI Radeon X800 XT 256mb
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS

EDIT: BTW all of my games run fine, and then suddenly freeze, no signs of stuttering or any indication that it's about to lock up.
2 250gb Hds

PSU-I can't tell much because the sticker is obscured by a metal plate, but it's a 460W.

A:Lockups in Games

I blew up my 450W crappy generic PSU litterly within a week of putting system togther. Spec in my profile. Our CPUs will take over a 100Watts of power alone from the 12V rail. Add a decent graphics card (GPU, this takes 10's of watts from the 5V rail) and you got a recipe for disastour.

What are the specs of your PSU. 3.3, 5 and 12 voltage amps?

Cheers.

Problem: When I go to play PC game, CD-Required more like it, I find myself with a blank screen (Usually White) and nothing loading. I'll usually be able to send my start tab over the blank screen, so I think everything is still functioning fine, but then I go to ctrl+alt+del the game and the whole system locks up. Same thing goes for DirectX, it won't detect anything but my video card. Mostly because of past errors that lock it up I decide to bypass those options.

Cause: I got this new computer about a month ago, decided to put in the hard drive from my old computer. Along with my sound, and modem cards. That I did, and everything was working just dandy, PC games and all. Then I go to put some RAM in it, and I shorted out the motherboard/power supply. And so, I put everything back, sound, modem, hard drive back in my old computer. I find myself with the problem, can't get PC games to load.

System:

Motherboard ECS K7SEM SiS 730S Chipset
2 DIMM Slots (1GB Maximum RAM)
1 4x AGP slot
2 PCI Slots
1 AMR Slot

2 serial port
1 parallel parallel

System Memory: 256 MB PC133 SDRAM
CD-ROM: MSI 48x12x48x CD-R/RW drive w/Nero software
CPU: AMD Duron 1.3Ghz
Video: geForce2 MX200 64MB 4X AGP
Sound: Creative SB Live! 5.1
Hard Drive: Not Sure

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Video Card drivers, that didn't seem to work, any help would be appreciated.

Good day,

I've been having problems with my PC lately, and I can't seem to solve it.

When I'm running applications, just having it run idle on the desktop or web browsing, there is no issue. However, when playing games, the computer will occasionally and randomly lock up. In some games the ambient sounds or music will keep playing, in others it just loops the sound.

Then after a minute or two, it either resumes like nothing ever happen, or it crashes to a BSOD. Contents of the BSOD seem to differ between STOP or IRQL_LESS_OR_EQUAL, I think depending on which driver is installed. Sometimes I can play for hours, sometimes it locks every 5 minutes.

I'm running MSDN Windows 7 Ultimate N x64 with Service Pack 1. I've tried removing the Soundblaster addon card and using the onboard sound. I've tried upgrading sound/video/lan/bios/motherboard drivers. I've tried running on 2 memory sticks (switching which pair). I've tried running memtest86, which found no errors. I've tried reinstalling Windows. All to no avail.

Overheating isn't a problem, and I've never had any issues on this machine when it still ran XP.

If anyone can help me, that would be much appreciated, as I've run out of ideas to try. I've attached the crashdump, a picture of the last BSOD and a System Health Report. The Health Report says it cannot find an Anti-Virus program, which seems weird as Secury Essentials is installed and running.

Hey guys, I'm having an issue where my system just locks up and refuses to respond. It can happen randomly while the computer is idle or while I'm actively using it. Even happened once right after boot when I was going through Windows Explorer.

Dump files are attached.

I'm not really sure what else to say other than that, any additional info I'll edit in later.

- x64 Ultimate (SP1)
- Original installed OS
- Full Retail
- Hardware around 2 years 4 months old.
- OS 5 months old.

EDIT: Might want to mention that I don't actually get a BSOD. The screen just freezes.

EDIT2: Event Viewer logs available on post #5

EDIT3: More Event Viewer logs available on post #10. I've also updated my LAN driver

A:Random lockups and freezing

No DMP's inc.
We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP

We could also use some system information, which you can get easily by running msinfo32. To do that go to start>run>type msinfo32>enter

When it is finished running go to file>save>name it and upload to us here.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

Quote:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Quote:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).

Before November, my video card was broken and constantly overheated when playing games or watching videos(The screen would go black and the very last bit of sound would play over and over). After it was replaced I had a different problem. My PC often freezes when browsing the internet, computer or almost pretty much anything.

Except its pretty random, sometimes I can have a long time without freezing and sometimes it does it almost non stop. A weird thing happens sometimes when using a browser, where it doesn't look like it froze, it all acts as if its still working, it loads a page forever and I can still scroll around on the page I am already on, and if I create a new tab and then click on it, it only then freezes.

Then with games, it gets even weirder in that some games don't freeze or lockup at all(But very few, and the list seems to get smaller and smaller).
Some guys, such as gta4, fallout, Arma 2, operation flashpoint red river, etc as I play eventually seem to stop loading textures(extremely low res that was previously hd, or not showing any at all), models(No buildings where there should be), sounds and even scripts and after a while finally freezes, but in a sort of on and off pattern. It'll freeze for a minute, come back for a few seconds, and freeze again, and on and on. Sometimes it goes back to normal, sometimes I have to turn the game on again. Sometimes it just outright freezes without the texture and etc loss.

Ive had this issue going on for the past few months. My desktop will randomly lock up. There's no warning, no symptoms, one second it'll function fine, the next nothing. The screen locks, and the system goes completely unresponsive. The only way to free it up is to reset it. Another symptom that's started happening recently is the monitor will shut off when the system freezes.

Ive updated the bios on my motherboard, heres the mobo, cpu and vid card specs:

ASUS Striker II Formula LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
4 GB Kingston HyperX 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Yorkfield 2.83GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
750 Watt PSU
Ge-force gtx 285

Current running windows 7

Ive run memtest and came up with no errors, Ive swapped out vid cards, tried rolling back drivers, re-seating the ram, checked error logs that always come back clean.

Does anybody have any suggestions, ideas or ran into this in the past?

What I would do...

Remove all traces of existing GPU driver, run off the generic MS vga driver. Down load and install the latest HD7700 series driver, it's about two months old. Then I would install ATI's afterBurner GPU program. It allows the user to make a custom GPU fan speed profile. Set it for 100% fan at 60*C. DO NOT OVERCLOCK!

You can't really trouble shoot the system until you have a clean driver install with temps under control.

Avoid using registry cleaners unless you know exactly what you are deleting, often you do more harm than good. Removing a few hundred lines from the registry makes no difference in performance.

Now you can start reading the mini dumps and you may find the problem, if you still have one.

Hello!! So I've been trying to figure out exactly what my problem is, maybe I can get some better answers from the community, because I've run out of things to try.

On a few games in my Steam library, when I attempt to run them, they work fine, up until a certain point in each game. Usually involving some kind of combat, or something along those lines. The crashes are odd, however, the games literally freeze up, but they do not close. I've tried waiting in the assumption that perhaps this is some kind of minor problem, but it's not. In order for me to close the games at this point, I must CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and close the program that way...only the program doesn't actually close. It attempts to, but only disappears from my screen, removing my cursor as if it was in-game, but I'm sitting on my desktop. Occasionally I find a way to "minimize" this program/game/issue, and get my cursor back, but I cannot play any Steam games, and an attempt to try and close steam and relaunch changes nothing, as Steam still thinks I'm in-game. The onyl thing that works for sure is restarting the computer and not launching the game
Games I know it affects:

-Mortal Kombat 9 (freezes at random intervals during a fight)

-Fallout New Vegas (Freezes randomly as I go to shoot a gun, unknown if other non-ranged weapons affect this)

-Fallout 3 (Freezes randomly as I go to shoot a gun, unknown if other non-ranged weapons affect this)

Ok, ive been experiencing complete system lockups/freezing since i got my new computer. When it freezes, everything stops responding, num lock/caps lock dont respond, and there is no sound loop. It seems like the freezes are almost always centered around things having to do with the internet, downloading large files always locks it up, playing wow causes lockups, sometimes it even locksup when simply browisng the internet, though this is rarer. Though since ive installed pro, i actually got 2 freezes trying to install wow.

I have dont fresh installs of 2 different operating systems, Windows XP Pro, and windows XP Pro 64 bit, and the problem has persisted through them both. I have tried installing all the latest drivers, again it persists. I read about the 8x.xx nvidia drivers causing lockups with dual core processors, so i uninstalled my display drivers, the problem still persisted. I have reseated the memory, run memtest86 on two seperate occasions, let it run through about 20 times overall, no errors. I ran a video card stress test, and it went through fine, though i didnt think it was the problem, since i was never getting any graphical errors. My computer only came with a 500w psu, so i thought that may be the problem since that was cutting it close for my system, so i bought a highly reccomended one (700W OCZ GameXstream) and the problem still continued.

I use a wireless connection, and have tried two seperate wireless adapters, the problem persists with them both. I ... Read more

Hello, I've recently bought a computer which has has Windows 8.1 installed on it from the very beginning--had it for about 3-4 weeks by now. Everything off-games works great. 'Net runs smooth, boots up very well, etc. This is also a computer meant to play/run all sorts of games--it was benchmarked a bit higher than the average gaming computer.

Mind you, I don't really have much experience with the technological side of computers--I only know some small things. Reformatting, Opening the Event Viewer, etc. I'm very cautious about what I do on that side of the computer--that being said, bear with me.

This is the exact PC that I have, without any custom changes. That message is common, if you force it to shut down.

Lockup during gameplay may happen due to many reason.

Is the display driver not up to date? Update your ATI/AMD display driver.
You can get it from the link in our forum, Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7, or you may go to AMD Graphics Driver and Software and opt for Automatically Detect and Install the appropriate driver for your card.

During installation, you may opt for advanced installation, and install the display driver only, not the Catalyst Control Center.

I recently picked up the Inspiron i7559 from Amazon and it has worked great for gaming and handling my intensive programs.
However, it can't deal with simple browsing and other tasks that I presume to rely on the integrated chipset (Intel HD 530). Oftentimes the entire computer locks up just clicking on a program, opening up a webpage, and even right clicking the desktop which I reason to be as a result of the integrated drivers.
I've updated the drivers to the newest possible version offered on Dell's page for my laptop but to no luck. I can't keep dealing these lockups every minute so is there any word on new drivers from Dell or a solution?

A:Constant freezing and lockups on Inspiron i7559

I also got one of these from Amazon, same issue since day 1 also. I have called support, all drivers and software is up to date. They claim to have "no record" of this issue. Therefore, I am returning this junk. I love how they assert this is an unknown issue, yet MANY posts have been made both here, on tomshardware.com and amazon.com all reporting this SAME issue.
Seems likely that Dell is hiding from something, which is why I have decided I need to return this. I cannot afford to pay for Dells mistakes.
My suggestion is to Return the device and buy something else that works. Dell is not addressing this issue, therefore, not returning it will mean you are stuck with a laptop that has to be rebooted all the time (sucking up battery every time)
I want this laptop to work. I love the battery size and features, however, it doesn't work correctly. I am very irritated by Dell's inability to even get this issue on the radar. It makes me want another brand. Moreover, after being told they have not heard about this issue I am inclined to never  buy anything that says Dell on it ever again for any price.

Hey guys I've been having an issue for about 2 months now, basically when I'm playing games (WoW / LoL / Titanfall) my PC will randomly freeze, then my monitor will just shutdown. I then have to manually shutdown my PC using the power button as it remains turned on even after the monitor shuts down.

On reboot I get an error saying "Display driver stopped responding but has recovered" and after checking the event viewer I have multiple errors before each unexpected shutdown. Also sometimes on reboot after 5 mins the PC will blue screen resulting in the same display driver error but it hasn't done that for a few weeks now.

Here are the errors that appear prior to the shutdown:

Ok, so I've finally decided to make my own thread about this rather than keep looking for solutions in other people's threads. My laptop has been freezing up very randomly since Christmas break, and I've run just about the gamut of ways to fix it. It do not believe it is an application problem because its happening in safe mode even.

What happens is I can be doing nearly anything and the screen will flicker a little bit, a little flashing, and as soon as this starts, everything is frozen, even caps lock is unresponsive. It can happen while surfing the web, while playing games, during start up, just after start up, you name it.

I think we can eliminate it being the video card because with the driver uninstall, the problem still happens.

It also doesn't seem to be a problem with CPU because the usage seems to be low when this happens. EDIT: It's definitely not the CPU: I was just observing it while it happened and it was at a measly 4% usage while I was just sitting doing nothing.

Ok . I am getting random system lockups, can happen anytime. Sometimes using when using chrome or just on desktop. Happens most often when windows is on login screen, or sometime right before windows loads. Playing any game I have will cause crash to desktop. Crash time varies from game loading screen to playing game for a few minutes.

So far I have reinstalled windows 3 times. I have replaced motherboard because it crashed during bios update, thus ruining mobo, tried different power supply also. After installing windows I have installed latest drivers that I could find, didnt seem to make any difference from the drivers that were loaded when windows was first installed. I did notice that after I installed pc matic I got constant BSOD, So I uninstalled it. fewer BSOD But still have lockups and game crashes.

I have ran memtest for 24 hours with no errors, also ran tests on ssd and hdd drives with no errors.
I should have the files attached to this post.

Ok, so I built a friend a Core i7 920 based system.

here are the specifics:

Core i7 920
ASUS P6T Motherboard
6GB OCZ DDR3 Memory
Corsair 750W PSU
300GB Velociraptor Wstern Digital HDD
PNY GTX 285 Video Card
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

Sometimes, at random times, idle or in use, the PC will lockup, hard. Mouse/Keyboard unresponsive, nothing. Have to power off the machine and reboot.

Event Viewer isnt showing much... is there anything else I can check to see what might be causing this?

Also, havce tried a format and fresh install...no luck.

Testing shows stable (No overclocking at all!) Temps are fine (35-40Deg Celcius) and runs Prime95 without a hiccup, and does not fail. Ran last night for 30 mins straight, no lockup, then went to dinner, come back and its locked up hard.

She has 3 separate games and they all do it. I'm puzzled because they never did this before the upgrade and the people that did the upgrade don't know either. I downloaded a new driver for the video card and that didnt help. I turned off my McAfee virus scan and that didnt help either. I have several fans so I dont think it's over heating. Besides that I only had one fan before and a 800 Mgz processor and the games ran fine. You are my last resort so ANY help would be so greatly appreciated

Hi there,

So this computer issue happens on every game you play? What games are you playing if you don't mind me asking?

Go to Nvidia's website and download the latest drivers for your computer video card. Un-install the current video card drivers you have currently installed on your computer and install the video card drivers that you have downloaded from Nvidia's website.

Hope everything works out well for you.

Hey guys, I recently bought a computer for the sole purpose of being able to play current games, and I did quite well. The specs are:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs)
Memory: 3326MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285

etcetc... Not a bad PC by any means. It gets the job done.... Or used to.

These days I can barely ever play games. I used to be able to play Call of Duty Moden Warfare 2 with no problems. Now the second I enter a game, the graphics will freeze up on me. I know it's only the graphics because I can still ctrl+alt+del, and the sound will continue going. When I try to play Champions Online, I can sometimes play for hours without it freezing, and sometimes it will happen moments after logging in.

I remember blue screening once out of the perhaps 30 or so times it's done it, and a couple times I've gotten an error stating:

"The nv4_disp display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to Microsoft."

This has been happening for about 2 weeks now, and the things I've tried are unplugging my video card and plugging it into another slot, unplugging and plugging my RAM back in, updating the drivers to the latest ones, rolling the drivers back to previous "stable" builds, adjusting audio settings (which apparently could have ... I just got a new computer today and when I run doom 3 after I play for a couple minutes the game will either freeze or crazy colours will go everywhere inthe game then itll freeze. i have a amd 3200, 2gb ram, 9800 pro. Could it be it is overheating? or that the power supply isnt enough (350 watt). If it is, how much does it cost to get more power? Thanks.

A:Games freezing

Hi Luke,

I had similar problems myself when I first ran Doom; I have a similar system, and same GPU as you. There are some issues with ATi cards and doom3, it tends to run better on NVidea cards.

First stop, just try the lastest ATi drivers, they did coincidentally post one on the catalyst site about the same time as Doom3 was released. That worked for me.

there are other, doom-specific, beta catalyst 4.9 drivers available if the above doesn't work.

alternatively, some people have reported success with a 3rd party driver like this one from guru 3d.

There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to play on high-quality settings with a minimum res of 1024x768, possibly higher, with your rig. You just need to tweak things a bit until it works ok.

There's nothing wrong with your power, until it stops working.

Hi There,

I have this really annoying problem that while playing a game (COD4 for example) I get 5-15 mins into it and it just freezes. Really fast sound looping starts and I can't CTRL+ALT+DEL out of it. My only solution is to do a hard restart and let it boot up again.

I had this problem earlier in the year after I got a new video card and I thought I had fixed it. But a few months ago I did a clean install and this probably deleted the settings that fixed it.

Any help you can give is much appreciated.

Cheers,

A:Games Keep Freezing!!

One of the first (and probably the easiest and cheapest (i.e. free) things to check) is your temperatures.

Download and install HWMonitor then run the program. Leave it running in the background and play a game for 5 - 10 mins and exit (before it crashes the machine).

Post either post a screenshot of the temperatures (minimum and maximum) or type them out in a new reply.

Also, can you provide more information about your system, I can see what you have in your profile but could do with more. If it is a 'big brand' name like HP, Dell etc. then what is the exact make and model. If it's a self or custom build, what is the make and model of Motherboard, CPU, RAM (including amount), Graphics Card, Power Supply (including wattage), number of hard drives and/or optical drives (CD/DVD) etc. the more info you provide the better answers you will get.

What operating system are you using and is it 32 or 64 bit, are all your drivers fully up to date?

First, hello all, I'm pretty new here, and not too experienced.
I'm desperate...I have played these games: Assassin's creed, Crysis, Call of Duty4, Medal of Honor:Airborne.
Here is the story: after I purchased my PC, games worked great for the first week or two, somehow. Then, Crysis and COD4 started to just freeze, it took crysis shorter time to freeze, around 10 mins, while it took cod4 20 mins~ till it froze, and my only solution is to restart my PC.(i didnt have MoH & Assassin's creed that time)
I have sended my PC for repair, and they said they switched PSU. I took my PC back and STILL having the same problem. I then installed MoH:A, played it and it didnt freeze. Then 1-2~ days later it froze(wanted to note it was a very hot day, my pc temp was up to 71C).
I took my pc for a full scan, I tould them my pc freeze and maybe my PC have too high temp. I got it back while they said my memory caused problem.
Now thats wierd, Assassin's Creedn works like a charm, played it over hour, so is Crysis(which used to freeze so fast) but COD4 and MoH:A STILL freeze my pc!
I'm so confused and have no idea what to do, I cant send my PC back to the lab, they will just do more *****ic pc scan and say everything is allright...

Oh, and about heating problems, they didnt fix it and their reason was that my PC have sensor and when it comes to too high heat it shuts down the pc, therfore it's not heating problems.

Ok i'll explain first of all the problem and then what i have tried so far to correct it.

Basically the games i have playing run perfectly for 10 - 40 mins and then it locks up, sometimes with the sound looping, sometimes without, forcing me to reboot. Example of games this has happened in, KOTOR, CS, Raven Shield.

Ok now for what i've tried attempting to resolve this issue.

1. Update all drivers on my system. (Problem still occurs).
2. Re-installed XP with sp1/sp2 and without. (Problem still occurs).
3. Disabled Sound-Card (Problem still occurs).
4. Used MemTest program to check for faulty ram, ran fine with no errors.
5. Lowered Hardware Acceleration. (Now when i lowered this i was able to play KOTOR on certain levels, anywhere else the games fps went to low).
6. Used various Nvidia drivers, using drivercleanerpro inbetween installing them. (Problem still occurs).

System:
2.6 ghz p4
512 DDR RAM
Nvidia GeForce FX 5700 Ultra
Windows XP

Any suggestions will be much apperciated. Ive been playing around for weeks now, its really starting to get to me.

Thanks

Okay so I seem to have this problem with every single PC game I try to play. Basically I'm just trying to focus on possible causes of the problem. When I start a game up, let's say Age Of Empires III, as soon as the intro video comes up I hear some weird clicking or ticking. Then I can play as usual but with the clicking popping up every once in a while.. Then usually after a random amount of time the game will freeze. OR I can actually quit the game and do somethin else for a while but somewhere down the road - my PC freezes.

This happens with every game, more often with more taxing games on my video card. Now I know clicking is usually associated with HDDs but I just dunno about that. I have two HDDs and for example. I had Pirates installed on HDD 1 and had the problem so I wiped the drives clean and installed WinXP and Pirates on the other drive and had the same problem.

Make sure it's not overheating - take off the side of the case, and have a fan blowing towards the inside. Clean out the dust inside, and make sure the fans on the CPU and graphics card are working.

Also, what is your power supply rated at? It might be overheating as well.

I could be wrong but the specs for your graphics card say it requires 38A on the +12V rail from the power supply. The power supply specs state it has 4 X +12V rails at 18A each.

If I am understanding all the specifications the card uses 2 X PCI connectors. If they are coming from seperate 12V rails you only have 36A available so it is underpowered.

If you mean 110Watts then yes this is low (too low for an addon Video card)
(I note that you have removed the reference stating you had a 110 Power Supply)

You can also do the below (freely) before purchasing a better Power Supply:

Please run Memtest on your Ram
And confirm all your Device Drivers are up to date
Also make sure all Windows Security Updates (and Service Packs) are completed

Warcraft 3 the screen goes black and my mouse is just the loading thing, not both.. my computer just stops loading in the back. I did a check to see if everything stops and even my music shuts off. I cant ctrl+alt+delete, all I can do is reset. and I even waited an houir and it didnt work
for CSS it goes to the first loading screen and says loading in the bottom right corner and just stays there.... grrrrrr
