M93z PXE booting

Q: M93z PXE booting

I am currently trying to PXE boot an M93z, however I get the error "NBP is too large to fit in free base memory". In BIOS, Boot Mode is set to Auto, while Boot Priority is set to UEFI First - which is the working configuration on a number of other Lenovo computers. What is the cause of this issue, and how do I solve it?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm trying to find out if I can get a digital surround sound output from my M93z. As far as I can tell there is only one digital audio output native on this PC - the DisplayPort audio connection.  This shows up as Intel HD Audio in the driver list.  I am running Windows 10 x64 and have updated all of the drivers and utilites from Lenovo using their tools. I have had my DisplayPort connected to my TV through the Lenovo supplied DisplayPort to HDMI dongle.  I recently purchased an HDMI audio extractor, one with a switch where you can have it request the PC to provide it with 5.1 audio output.  Even with the TV disconnected from the audio extractor the PC sees the audio extractor device, so this should eliminate the TV from the setup. I know that the PC will only output the audio format that it has to play from a particular program.  However, when I go to Playback Devices and check the properties of that audio connection it states that the maximum supported channels is 2.  I would expect that if everything is being detected correctly that it would state 6 or 5.1 or something like that. (Yes, I realize there are other options to try and get this to work.  Before anyone suggests to purchase a USB sound card please try to answer my question below or help solve my problem.  Changing to a USB sound card is not what I'm asking about here.) So my question becomes: Does the Intel HD Audio device that is built into the M93z... We got in office new AIO ThinCenre M93Z. When turning on the PC, there is no noise at all; however after working 2 hours, the noise of fan drives everybody in room crazy. It not so loud, however it sounds like wind around the blocks in autumn and the noise is not at same frequence but always going up and down, depending on speed of fan.We already checked internet for ours, nothing helped. The CPU temperature is about 40 degree celcius. The tool fanspeed cannot detect the fan, in bios we already put to "acoustic" (sounds like a joke for this setting). We would be so happy if anybody could help! For Thinkpads, there are special tools for fan control; however there seems to be nothing for Thinkcenter AIO PCs. If it would be a private PC - no problem to open the case, put better fan inside; however it is new brand new PC from company and we cannot do hardware modifications.

A:M93Z AIO fan noise is terrible ; help please!

Hi there, I also bought a Lenovo M93z and the fan drives me crazy. It's a privat computer and I've opened it. But there is nothing you can do. I also tried the program Fanspeed. But the same problem. It can't find my moherboard. Throughout the internet I found nothing exept following information:http://support.lenovo.com/en_NZ/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?DocID=HT081544&rd=news The problem for me, I don't know if I really can use this bios. When I search through the driver update page. I doesn't show me the same bios. I'm using at the moment the version "FEKT80A". Could you please tell me if you could solve the problem? Thank you very much

Would any significant problems be expected if I was to try to run my M93Z off of a modified sine wave inverter? I know that pure sine wave inverters are recommended, but it also sounds like a lot of desktop computers have components that monitor and smooth out the power input anyhow. I don't intend to use anything too heavy like video games, just a lot of Excel. Any thought woukd be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance!

Every now and then, the screen for my M93Z will become very fuzzy and the colours will skew towards green(ish). Sometimes, temporarily shutting off the screen fixes the issue, sometimes even switching between programs helps (if say one program was a full screen isntance and then the screen goes completely black while switching). Any idea how I can solve this? I am wondering if it's an overheating issue, a graphics issue, or a driver issue... Next time it happens I will take a picture and try to upload it on to here... I tried to screen shot it when it happened but the screenshot picture looks normal :/

We recently purchased 5 ThinkCentre M93z's to complement the 100+ E93z's that we currenlty use in our school district cafeterias. These computers have Windows 7 OS and the only other software we install is Meals Plus software to track students and food purchases. These computers have a Genovation Mini-Terminal model 905-S version 7.20 keypad attached that can either scan a student's ID  card or they can punch in their student ID number to purchase their meals and we install the latest driver for that device. With all 5 of the M93z's we purchased the computers will hang at the Lenovo splash screen (most common) or hang at the Windows Startup screen at the point when you first start to see the colored balls appear. It will stay stuck at this point until you unplug the keypad at which point it will finish booting up.  At point you can plug the device in and use it but once you restart it it will hang up again.  This happened no matter which USB port you use (two on the side or the four on the back). We have never had any issue with the E93z computers.

I have updated the bios. I have removed and reinstalled the lastest USB drivers for this computer.  The bios is set to start up from the hard drive. USB is not one of the startup options.

Suffice it to say, because of this problem, I rarely turn off the machine.A couple of times I used the OS Recovery Disc that I got with the pc purchase. It has helped a few times. But I feel like there is no true solution yet. Everything I try that works is really just luck. Anyone else having this issue? And found a solution yet? Thanks.

Hi all, We are having issues applying Thinkcentre M93z BIOS update.  The update itself completes successfully but the following reboot produces the error: "Error 0162 - Setup data integrity check failure"?Press F1 to enter Setup, F2 to resume? At this point it doesn?t matter how many times you press F2 you always receive the same error during POST.  The workaround has been to enter the BIOS and press F9 then F10 to save and exit.  Once this has been done the machine boots without displaying the 0162 error.  If we were manually walking around updating the BIOS on each machine it would be less of an issue but since we are carrying out the BIOS updates via SCCM, visiting each machine is not an option.  It doesn?t matter if you apply the BIOS manually or via SCCM, you see the same error.  For reference we are updating to the latest BIOS revision: FEKT50AUS. Any ideas? Many thanks

I'll skip all the backstory and cut to the chase.  Have formatted my hard drive.  I have a Windows 10 USB installer and a DVD installer.  I can boot both of the installers but once Windows Setup loads the keyboard and mouse immediately stop working.  From what I've read Windows 10 has built-in USB 3 drivers - which seems like it is working since Windows Setup is running from the USB thumb drive.  I just can't click Next to proceed with setup since the keyboard deactivated (no Num Lock or Caps Lock).  Keyboard works just fine in BIOS. I don't think Setup is not locking up.  The reason I am at this point is because the keyboard and mouse stopped working in my 8.1 install.  (I could remote control using my remote app, but no local keyboard and mouse).  Was able to upgrade to 10 which worked but still no keyboard and mouse.   Tried different ports and different keyboards. The BIOS does not have a way to disable xHCI on the USB that I could find. Any ideas?

First thing to do is run an extended (NOT just 10 minute) diagnostic on the hard drive.  If you need further assistance, post the results of that (numeric error codes) along with the full model information - i.e., Inspiron N5110, XPS L501x, etc.).

Press F12 a few times immediately after powering on to get into the diagnostics.

Hi,
I just got a ASUS G75V series and updated it to windows 7 professional with Intel core i7.
I was able to work with it and everything was fine until I had to install XP because some softwares are not compatible with Win 7 x64.
I have Win 7 on drive C: and windows xp on drive E: which in windows XP environment it is shown as drive C: again(I have two HDDs, 500GB each).

So as you can predict I tried using the dual booting and followed the tutorial for that on the website, I wasn't able to get it to work exactly and each time I had to change the bios settings to boot either win 7 or win XP,

I downloaded easyBCD and was trying to get it to work but my silly mistake was I Reset BCD configuration under BCD backup/repair tab and ever since I haven't been able to load windows 7 and the laptop directly loads windows xp.

I ran easyBCD in windows xp and tried to fix the problem by adding the bootloader for windows 7 there but nothing seems to work.

I am really stuck and I can not reinstall windows 7 because it is set up with all the softwares for my work

A:Issue booting Win 7, booting directly into XP & no boot manager

It sounds like you have the OS's installed on two separate HD's, and were booting them correctly via the BIOS - setting preferred one first to boot in BIOS setup, then booting the other one using the one-time BIOS Boot menu key.

To restart Win7 unplug all other HD's, Mark the 100mb System Reserved (preferred) or Win7 Partition Active then run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times.

Once Win7 starts, plug back in the XP HD and boot it using the Asus F8 one-time BIOS Boot Menu key, or install EasyBCD to Win7 to add XP on its Add OS entry tab.

Hello there, occassional lurker, first time poster, hopefully someone here will be able to help

I've been setting my laptop to dual boot xp pro, and Ubuntu on a seperate partition. All was going well, until xp decided to die altogther. I don't have that error to hand, but it's gone a little further now.

Was going to install xp pro on a 3rd partition, and it started up fine. Now I can boot fine to Ubuntu, and the 2nd version of xp. However, the original xp is still having issues.

Now, when booting up, gets BSOD - bad_pool_caller. Code at the end is: 0x000000c2 (0x00000007,0x00000CD4,0x00000060,0x86F7E1FC)

Everything I've read suggests this is talking about a hardware or software conflict. However, I've not installed any new hardware. I suspect there is a software conflict between the two versions of xp, but I can't see how that can happen.

I can boot into the 1st copy of xp in safe mode, however, explorer.exe fails to start up. Tried running it in task manager to no avail.

I forgot to add - I am using GNU GBRUB to boot between the 3 operating systems.

EDIT 2: Tried it again to boot 1st xp in safe mode - new error for windows product activation - a problem is preventing windows from accurately checking the licence for this computer error code 0x800004005

Recently I purchased a laptop with windows 8 64 bit pre-installed in it. For my job purpose, I needed windows 7 32 bit. After searching the web and also using the information I got from this site, I disabled secure boot, deleted the recovery partition and converted GPT partitions to MBR. Then I shrink the Big partition in which windows 8 was installed to make room for the windows 7 partition. Then I created a new partition and installed windows 7 on it. After this whenever I switch on the computer, a message come up, saying that a required device cannot be found and windows is to be repaired. The only way in which I can start windows is to go to bios, select the boot options and then select boot from notebook hard drive.

Can anybody please tell me how this problem can be solved

A:Booting problem with dual booting with windows 8 and 7

when you created the new partition did you make itin front or behind the existing partition?

If your boot manager is looking to boot Win 8 on Disk 0 Part 1, and you created the new partition in front of Win 8, your Win 7 will now be located on Disk 0 Part 1 which is where the boot manager is expecting Win 8

I have a SONY PC (RX-580) and it is not booting on an erratic basis. The first problem was after pushing the start button, the fan starts on high speed, but no activity light and no HD light came on at all. AFter 1.5 minutes or so, I rebooted after removing the power cord for 30 seconds. This happened 8 times today. I should mention that during this time, nothing comes on screen at all. There is no opportunity to get to the CMOS settings or even to boot with a floopy. (yes this still has a floppy drive in it.) Normally, for the past several months, this problem has simply been an inconvenience and after 2 or 3 tries, the unit boots up fine and works fine all day. Today, when it failed to do this so many times, I shut it down, opened the case and proceeded to reset all cables and connections. I didn't notice any loose connections. I didn't remove ram sticks. I then rebooted and this time, I got the HD light activity for a few seconds, then the fan slowed to a normal level as like everything was going to be okay. After a few minutes, the activity light was still lit, but no flickering like something was happening.

I turned the machine off again. I should mention that each time I turned the machine off, I didn't have to hold the button in for the normal 5 seconds. It turned of immediately.

I once again, inspected and reseated cards. I did not remove RAM sticks. This time, I plugged in and booted and right away, got a 3 or 4 second solid warning tone, follow... Read more

have a 3 yr old Dell Dimension L1000R; am running windows XP with service pack 2 installed; The problem: each time I boot up get Dell screen then system waits awhile hear wearing noises and clicks; then, most of the time get a list of the hardware in my pc; must hit delete key, and then it proceeds to boot up. The other times, get screen that says invalid disk (or something), and I must hit clt, alt, delete; then the hardware list comes up and I must hit delete key for the pc to proceed to boot. This has been going on for year or two. A year ago I upgraded to 512 memory and it stopped doing if for several months, but now does it all the time. I keep McAfee up to date and have all the latest microsoft upgrades; also run spybot and it shows no problems.
hope you can tell me what's going on and how to fix.

Sounds like your hard drive is dying.. You'd better back everything up.

when I try to boot up my Toshiba laptop the Windows XP booting screen appears but then it stops and a screen appears stating Windows has suffered a malfunction and will reboot in 30 seconds and this happens about 5 or 6 times before it actually boots up.

HeyMy laptop (elitebook 8440p windows 10 32bit) was working fine until today i opened it up and it came up with some sort of error about bios. I just clicked enter to continue then normally a background image comes up and you click something and then you type in your password. But when i click something the background just blurs like normal but doesnt give me the option of typing in the password. Also on the bottom right i clicked the sign for the wifi and it said there are no internet connection when there is. I have tried the start up test, run in test and the hard disk test but they all failed. If anyone could help u would greatly appreciate it.Thanks you!

Ok... searched the net but found nothing.

Why msn boots us all the time? I mean, i have huge problem with msn booting, is pain!

And not only this, but sometimes i talk to (or i get talked to by) a contact, and nothing appears on my IM screen! Not even the "typing" message.

I got the new BETA 8 2 last nite and prayed to be fixed, but happens a lot.

Its very annoying, how can we get rid of that booting?????

Are you saying this issue always occured or only after the upgrade? The upgrade is a Beta (test) version and may cause your specific situation some problems. I would go back to the previous version until it comes out of Beta.

Inspect the power and data cables on the drives, with the system powered off. Unplug them and plug them back in. Also check where the data cable connects to the mobo.

I recently tried to install a copy of xp media centre on my desktop computer. I took the option to update xp not do a complete re-installation. Everything was going fine until it needed to restart and then it came up with a msg saying: cannot find a cd-rom boot device! The only options then are exit and restart!

I am still able to go into windows by selecting xp on the operating system selection menu at boot. is their any way to fix this enoying problem?

A:help with xp booting

In the BIOS (Setup), select the hard drive to boot first, then the CD ROM second. This should end the first error. I don't understand what you were doing. You had XP Home and wanted to update it to Media Center?? You now have two versions of Windows on your drive? XP and MC? They operate on two different license keys.

My Computer is 1.3Ghz AMD Duron 256Mb RAM Windows XP SP2

When I put my MP3 player (Philips 256Mb Key Audio) into one of my USB connections my computer restarted itself, and kept doing so over and over. So I switched it off at my surge protector and switched it on again. But when the computer starts up now there is a lower sound than before & nothing appears on the screen. The light on my CD drive also flickers red/yellow every now and again.

I have never had trouble with my MP3 player before now so I am completely stumped at what the problem could be.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
