Q: Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga Touchscreen not working

Just today, the touchscreen on my Yoga Plus stopped working. I have tried everything, including reinstalling drivers, but I just get the message "driver is not intended for this platform." Can anyone help? I love this PC, it's great, I am just really disappointed Lenovo support doesn't seem to do what it promises. Thanks very much!

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

Welcome Torben1. You could first try to run Lenovo System Update to see if there is any updates.2. If no updates or problem persist after updates, contact Tech Support.

Hi Everyone! I just go my hands on a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 12 touchscreen laptop with an included digitizer.I am experiencing a weird thing with the touchsreen. (It is the full HD version with the digitizer and 10 point touch capabilities)Basically the bottom part (like 5cm from the bottom) of the touchscreen is not responsive until I touch the middle or upper part of the screen. After touching the screen somewhere else the bottom part becomes responsive again.Have you ever experienced such problem?I am currently on Windows 10 Pro and I completely updated all my drivers and also reinstalled everything including Windows but the problem still occurs.Any help would be highly appreciated!

I am experiencing frequent ghost touches on my new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga (3rd gen). This means that one can see the Windows 10 visual effects of a touch on the touchscreen and the corresponding opening of windows or apps on the taskbar, without anybody actually touching the screen. This makes the laptop sometimes hard to use. I have the latest Windows 10 1809 version with updated drivers and the latest BIOS V1.24.

I'm running windows 10, and suddenly my touchscreen stopped working. I checked in the device manager and the "HID compliant touch screen" was disconected. After trying to reinstall software, it was uninstalled and now the option does not even show up anymore. I reinstalled all lenovo drivers and im getting nothing. Windows has no idea its even there. Full disk format and a fresh copy of windows 10, and still nothing. This laptop has been through lenovo support again and again, the last time it went was kinda the last straw for me. :/ It's out of warranty now, but while it was in repair, other things on the computer were also damaged. Hence why it went back twice. But now suddenly the touch screen has stopped and I can't get a single response. Im hoping this is a driver malfunction somehow, but the touchscreen will not even show up in the device manager, not even under hidden devices. Any help?

Recently My x1 yoga 2nd touchscreen not working with hand, working perfectly with pen. I update all the drivers with Lenovo Vantage and updated to latest windows 10 version (1809), I disable and enable the touchscreen drivers and loaded with safemode, changed back to Tabelet mode, they all did not work. From Device manager, everything seems ok and use Vantage to scan and they are all OK. Lenovo recommend to take a reset (not done). Lenovo's vantage say all the drivers are updated and Easy Driver still detect 29 more drivers to be updated (not done). are there 2 control modulars, one for pen touch (OK), the other for hand touch (not OK)? is this issue is hardware issue or software issue? waiting for professional advice? Thanks a lotThomas

I have my Yoga for 5 days and the touchscreen stopped working mid-use! Tried everything I could, I also have reinstalled the factory image. Touchpad and pen are working correctly but not the touchscreen.  The HID Touch device is in the hardware manager. It's a 20C0. I've open a service request yesterday, I'm still waiting. Does anyone else had this problem with a brand new Yoga?

I?m sorry to hear that touchscreen of your ThinkPad Yoga stopped responding.
 
Open Device Manager in control panel. Look for the option Human Interface Device. Under Human Interface Device, look for HID-compliant device. Right click on this option and choose Disable and then re-enable the same.
 
If the above said didn?t help, it could possibly be a hardware issue. I?m sure the Lenovo technical support can be of great assistance.

Neither the stylus nor the touch is longer working. Seems to be related to an upgrade of Touch Firmware from Lenovo.  Lenovo support here in Sweden recommends a complete reinstall of Windows.

The touchscreen on my laptop stopped working a couple weeks ago. The screen does show the water drop and swipe feedback on the screen; however, it does not actually allow me to click or perform the actions. Interestingly, the touch screen does work in google chrome and no place else. I found a few forum posts where people had similar problem, but the solution was to remove "Lenovo Pen Settings Service" from the device manager. Unfortunately, I cannot find this driver in my device manager and have been unable to fix the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hello.Maybe someone can help me. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga with Win 10 running and in the past weeks it all worked fine. I used the Touchscreen and Tablet mode a bit and also used the pen occasionally. Since my flight back from Spain last weekend, the touchscreen stopped working. It does not react to fingers or the pen at all. I do not see an error message in the device manager, but am also not able to identify which device the toughscreen should be - I see no "wacom" device listed there. Wind 10 Hardware problem solver did not find anything. I also let the automated Lenovo driver updater run and it did some updates, but none regarding the touchscreen and it did not change anything. Now I first need to find out if it is a hardware or a software error - how can I do that?

(Code 45)"  I have done extensive searches in this site and in google and have been able to find a solution.  It was working fine before the update.

Hello, My Lenovo Yoga 720 13's touchscreen seems to not work with finger input. However, the touchscreen still responds when connected to the compatible Bamboo Smart Pen I have for this laptop. Recently the touchscreen on my Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro stopped working. It is running Windows 10 and the most recent update it received was KB890830. I am getting an error code 10 for the I2C HID device ("A request for the HID descriptor failed"), but when I try to update it, I get a message saying it is already up to date. Disabling and re-enabling hasn't worked and I cannot find the driver on the lenovo website to do a fresh install. Any suggestions to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Lenovo Yoga 720 15'' touchscreen, Esc and Delete button is not working. I bought Yoga 700 14'' which had some problem which lenovo replaced with Yoga 720 in July 2017.  The one they provide me has warranty from 07/18/2017 to 07/19/2017 and I never was aware of that. I was in assumption that I will be having warranty for one year and I will get the warranty extended before expiration but I didn't got the chance to extend it and now things are not working. If some one can help me if these things can be resolved.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 710 14 " Signature Edition 2-in-1 PC- bought it two days ago. W10. I have problems with the touchscreen when using it as a tablet. The touchscreen is working perfectly when it's in PC mode. Once I fold it and putting it flat (down at the table etc.)- the screen is no longer responding. I got the ingenius idea to try to install my Wacom Intuos pen driver to see if it would work. The Lenovo pen stopped working but after I uninstalled the Intuos driver, the pen started working agin. But then Windows 10 updated and the pen started behaving strangely. I tried to disable Windows Ink, manually and via console commands, specifically ?reg add HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pen /v LegacyPenInteractionModel /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f?. After I entered this command the pen stopped working completely, and hasn't worked since. I tried entering the counter command ?reg add HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pen /v LegacyPenInteractionModel /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f?, I tried updating the pen driver via device manager. A friend of mine brought his Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11E touch - by today because after he did a "clean install of windows 10 Pro. his touchscreen is no longer working...I've just spent the last 2 hrs. installing the "lenovo" drivers and software packages...But can't seem to located the HID touchscreen drivers or any documentation to support the touchscreen on the "Lenovo" site...I've also tried all the "lenovo" whiz bang apps the fix this issue...Does anyone have this model: Intel Celeron N2930 (2.16 GHz),8GB RAM,128GB Solid State Drive,11.6in 1366x768 Touchscreen LCD,Intel 802.11agn wireless,4c Li-Ion,Win8.1 Pro 64 - (Lenovo's description of this PC) that has been able to get the touchscreen working post windows 10 install? I installed the most recent windows 10 x64 synaptic driver this morning here on the lenovo site.  The new driver installed fine, but then after I went to reboot my system, the touchscreen was not working. I tried installing the march 1st Touchscreen patch from the same page, and it didnt fix it.   Under the device manager I have located the Touchscreen, it is showing up under Human Interface Devices, as an unrecognized USB input device.  In the properties window, listed under Events, it lists the "Device onfigured (null)".  After trying to install synaptics again later on, I get "Device not migrated", then "Device configured (input.inf)", and finally "Device not startd (HidUsb)". I don't have a wacom stylus, just the standard one that came with the device.Any help resolving this would be much appreciated.

I recently decided to use my Wacom Graphics tablet with my Yoga 260. After all the necessary drivers were installed for the Graphics tablet. The touchscreen on the laptop seems to have disappeared, where it had worked perfectly beforehand. I went through the Device Manager and settings and the computer says that there is no longer any touch screen support. I am using Windows 10 and was really hoping that I could use both the computer and the Graphics tablet together. Can somebody please help or give me a way of enabling my touchscreen?Thanks in advance!

I have TP Yoga 14 that has a Wacom touch screen and I have a Wacom Bamboo at home. I will try tonight to see if when I connect the Wacom external tablet it disconects my touch screen.

Hello I bought a Yoga X1 last year and it was working fine until about 3 weeks ago. For unknown reasons - possibly because of some Windows 10 update or because I installed a "nightly built" of the VLC video player the touchscreen stopped working. Windows 10 could not find a driver anymore (claiming that the driver it found is not suitable for this version of windows or womething like that). Same happened with the Lenovo driver for the device from the Lenovo website. I always hat the device marked yellow and "not working properly" in the device manager. I finally found in a forum aomeone pointing to a different driver for the Xoga X1's Wacom device and installed it. Now it shows up in the Device manager without Problems, but I still have no touch functionality. I deinstalled VLC alread and updated Win 10 again - still no luck. do I need some additional driver to connect the device that is recognized in the Device manager with Windows 10 somehow? Or activate it? I booted from a USB rescue stick for Win 10 and there the touch functionality was ok - so its not a hardware issue! Thank you.

Quick recap:I checked on 17th of May for new Bios on the hp, guess what: BIOS 1.33 was available. I downloaded and quickly installed it. Everything was fine. I checked the page on the next day, wondering why the BIOS was regressed to BIOS 1.30. 1.33 was nowhere to be found. Yesterday it was back up. Just saying. Something weird was happening around the release.I have the Pre-weekend 1.33 installed, so maybe the problem is solved with the after-weekend version, but I can only guess. Problem:Everytime I close the lid and the laptop goes into standby and after I open it up again, the TOUCHSCREEN WILL NOT WORK. Nothing.I always have to restart the whole machine. Somebody having the same problem?

Hi, I am new to using both a touchscreen and stylus on a laptop.  I bought this model with the theory of being able to easily annotate PDFs.  However I have found no matter the software that the stylus/software is rendered un-usable as my hand, on the large 14" screen constantly interferes when trying to use the stylus. Any suggestions please?  Lenovo "Technical" support were anything but. Thank you

Hi everyone.My Thinkpad (Yoga 12.5, WINDOWS 10) screen acting strangely. It works, then touch function stops. It starts working again when I do enable/disable HID touchscreen in device manager. Works sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes an hour or more, then stops again. Power saving option is OFF on this device. Drivers are all updated to the latest through Lenovo driver update process.Since it is partially fixed by driver enable / disable function, I suspect it is software and not hardware issue, however can not pinpoint it. Other clues to solve this mistery: 1)It is plugged in (not on battery) 2) HID-compliant touch screen driver is Microsoft version (10.0.16299.15) Driver date 6/21/2006 (Maybe old?) I hope somebody can help.Thank you.

Hi, I got a X1 Yoga 2nd Gen laptop (20JD) for my daughter and it was dropped to ground at school. The LCD cracked and touchscreen was not functional any more. I looked up Lenove website and the part number is 01AX897 and there are some pictures showing that the FRU is 00NY441, this confuses me a lot when I try to source the right screen for replacement. what is the difference between part number (01AX897) and FRU 00NY441. When I tell the sellers that the part number 01AX897 and most of them do not know and some of them say they sent me the photo showing the FRU 00NY441 for confirmation. I search FRU00NY441 and the results are for X1 Carbon 4th Generation. and some of this FRU number have options of non-touch.I cannot find any information regarding the replacement of X1 Yoga 2nd Gen Lcd replacement from youtube or google.

Whenever I use the pen while the screen is flipped back over 180 degrees (whether in tent mode, tablet mode, whatever) the touchscreen becomes unresponsive. The pen works just fine but the screen wil eventually stop responding to touch. THe only fix I found is flipping the screen to laptop mode and back. This isn't app specific either. I mostly use the pen with Artrage and Photoshop, but I just tested on Edge and Mail, and the touchscreen became unresponsive.  I can use the pen in laptop mode without it interferring with touch. Something tells me there's a software issue.  Are there any fixes to this? It's really annoying.  In addition, the pen input can be very buggy at times, it wants to stick to teh top of the screen and I often end up moving the window while drawing.  I've calibrated the pen a few times, and I use both the built in pen as well as the thinkpad pen pro one (the thicker one you can be separately).
