I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi everyone, I've been searching for the solution for this one by Google-ing many many articles on the Internet, I tried all of them but all failed. My 12IKB currently runs the Windows 10 Home version 1809, I also installed all latest drivers on Lenovo support page (here: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-720-12ikb/download...) but the touch screen still doesn't work. Back when the first time I brought it home from the store, it worked but after installing windows update, touch screen didn't work anymore. Some articles told that the issue came from incompatible BIOS with the new windows update. I've noticed that Lenovo just released the new BIOS, I installed but nothing changed. So, could anyone please help me on this?

Hello. After months without trouble, one day, when I powered up my laptop, my touchscreen was acting weird, wouldn't let me enter my pin to log in, was like constantly clicking somewhere else, and touchpad was also not responding. After two restarts, there was nothing weird and touchpad was working fine, but the touchscreen wouldn't respond to touch, nor the pen. At this point, several restarts didn't make it work again. After installing a big windows update, the next restart made the touchscreen work just fine, but the pen was still not working. I shut down my laptop and, when I power it up the next time, the touchscreen is not working again. Now, my laptop is fully updated both on Windows Update and Lenovo Vantage, but the touchscreen and the pen are not working. Things I have tried without success:-Restarting several times.-Still not working in safe mode-Uninstalling all windows updates, testing it, and installing them all again.-Disabling and uninstalling the touchscreen and pen devices on Device Manager, and restarting so windows installs them again automatically.-Searching in google for a solution. My laptop still has warranty, but I'd hate to have it substituted for another for a software-related problem. Also, I do have a system image from many months ago that I could use to restore the system, but I'd prefer not to lose my current state if possible, but, of course, getting my touchscreen back has priority. I couldn't find anything clear on the many post... The touchpad on brand new Lenova Yoga 720 does not function properly. After install, mouse pointer does not show and the touchpad does not work. The only way to get around on the computer is the touchscreen. Keyboard still works. A hard reset solves the problem temporarily. To get the mouse to show and the touchpad to work, I will have to hard reset the laptop everytime before desired use. If the computer goes to sleep, the touchpad dissapears. I do not think that the touchpad shows up anywhere in my devices. I am not sure because I do not know what the file may be called. Otherwise, I would uninstall the driver and re install. Support said to download driver off website, there isn't a touchpad driver available for download. I'd like to keep this laptop  and correct this issue. But it is a new computer so if there isn't a solution soon, I will return it instead of wasting time adding to it. Seems that many have had similar issues. Anyone any closer to an answer? Hello? Help?

I just purchased this laptop Monday, and this has been an issue from day one. I start the laptop and everything works fine, I close the lid and it goes into sleep mode. When I open the computer and resume from sleep mode the track pad does not work. the only way to get the track pad to work again is to restart the laptop. This happens every single time without fail which makes it a real PITA to use. . . I have updated the synaptics driver and generic mouse driver with no change in behavior. I have completely uninstalled all relevant drivers and let windows re-install them with no change in behavior. I have 10 days left to return this thing, so hopefully I can get this fixed before that because this form factor is great, but I won?t keep something that it obviously broken. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I recently purchased a Yoga 720-12IKB as a graduation gift. This model came with a 128GB SSD that I would like to upgrade. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could confirm the following: 1) I've found online documentation that this model takes M.2 SATA 6GB/sec SSDs. I am assuming that this means it can't take a M.2 NVMe drive? (Before looking into this upgrade, I didn't know the difference.) 2) Will this model take a 1TB drive? The sizes listed on the hardware manual go up to 512GB. But, that just could just be because that was the max offerred by Lenovo on this model. My question is can it be upgraded with a drive larger than that? 3) Assuming that this model only takes M.2 SATA drives and I can go to 1TB, this drive on Amazon seems like an excellent deal. Can anyone confirm if it will work or offer any downsides to it?  https://tinyurl.com/y4gy9zwp Thanks!

But its hardly a bios.  Theres nothing i can do.  Cant change from ahci to raid (not that i wanted too) , cant change from uefi to legacy or both etc.  The only thing i can do (and have tried) is disable secure settings and fast boot.  Never seen such a restricted bios.  Does anyone have an idea how i can get it to work? Maybe a real bios with options or special drivers or settings ive to change?  Otherwise ill have to return this machine.

Hello, I've been reading up on the forums and trying to find answers. I have a Lenovo Yoga 720-12IKB model. I am trying to dual boot with Linux but I keep running into this issue where I can't change to Legacy mode. The option to change the sata controller does not appear. It is stuck on Ahci which is what I want, and when I want to change from UEFI to Legacy, the only option I have is UEFI. Does anyone have any help? thanks!,

A:Yoga 720-12IKB enabling legacy mode?

Hi,

I don't have a similar laptop and can't answer your questinon - but why do you need legacy mode?

If your SATA controller is in AHCI mode (and Windows is tolerating that) you should be able to install Linux along side. Several distros will happily boot in UEFI (and secure) mode.

Please explain.  Perhaps others will have suggestions.

Short and simpleI just now realized that out of the 4 screw slots on the bottom panel, one is missing. I have a Lenovo Yoga 720-12IKB Which is probably why the left side of my board clicks if I try to press it together, while the right side doesn'tAnd also probably the reason why my right arrow key and + Brightness keys have false contact unless I press down on said loose left side. I currently live in Mexico, warranty is gone. I'd appreciate if anyone here knows the code for the screw I require in order to hopefully fix my loose board issue, and see where I can find/order it.Thanks in advance

A:Lenovo yoga 720-12ikb battery decline when charger is plugged in?

Define "decline." What percentage to what percentage. If it's 100-95, that's by design. If it's around 60, you may have battery conservation mode engaged. At least I THINK that's available on the 720.  If you're down to 20% and it's not charging, then there's a problem.

I have a new since Christmas Yoga 720-12IKB and find that the wifi is disconnecting/reconnecting numerous times per minute. It causes significant distruption trying to use the computer, with frequent errors about not being connected to the internet. Generally causes the device to operate very slow, nearly unusable. I'm not having disruption on any other computers/tablets/phones connected. I've tried a fair amount of troubleshooting but have yet to find a solution. The one workaround that I've found is that when I connect to power, the problem goes away. Remove power, issue returns. Suggests a problem with the power management (or possibly network adapter driver) but I can't figure it out. The network adapter is Qualcomm QCA61x4a. Here's what I've attempted: 1) Disable the power management feature of the adapter (uncheck allow computer to turn off)2) Run Lenovo System Update to make sure all drivers are up-to-date3) Manually updated the driver via device manager (went from .312 to .438)4) Switch roaming agressiveness to low Other than making it a desktop (needing to leave it plugged in to avoid the issue) any suggestions/resolution to this problem? Anyone else seeing the same behavior? Frustrating problem to an otherwise fantastic, fun, and fast Yoga!!! Looking for a light at the end of the tunnel....

My system is up to date (Windows Update & Vantage) and I recently installed the latest BIOS (BYCN30WW). The BIOS update seems to have broken my USB-C port. I was using it to plug in to a hub where I have a monitor and an SD card reader connected but now, none of them seems to be detected or powered. It look like there isn't any power being delivered to the USB-C port at all and nothing shows in the device manager. The regular USB ports are working just fine. I tried to manually update the thunderbolt driver using the one provided on the product page, I tried rebooting multiple times but none of those have worked. Can you help me resolve this issue ? Do I have to ask for a replacement unit ?  Thank you

Hi. I have a Lenovo Yoga 920. It has 2 USB C ports and 1 USB type A port. Both USB type C ports work fine and detect adapters, dongles, flash drives, etc. Recently, I have noticed that my USB type A port has quit working. It won't detect anything, such as plugging a phone in, plugging in a wireless mouse, plugging in a controller, plugging in flash drives. It only works for one item that I own, and that is a plastic flash drive that fits TIGHT, and that is only occasionally. This makes me wonder if the port is shorted out or faulty. It did work a few months ago, but it doesn't work now. Have any of you ever encountered similar issues? Thanks in advance!

Long list of items that have crept up on this laptop after using it for several months. . . . The touchscreen no longer works.   I have reinstalled drivers over and over again, deleted and let windows choose the driver, and have tried everything I can think of to get it working. Yet it no longer recognizes touch at all. Bamboo Ink styles works just fine, uninstalling the associated drivers did not change anything. It slowly started to work intermittently and then just quit all together. Keyboard keys just stop working  So far some seemingly random LOWERCASE letters stop working, if I hold shift I get an uppercase just fine, or if I hit capslock it will give me the uppercase of whatever letter is not working for that day, so the button itself is fine. This has happened on several different keys completely randomly for no apparent reason what so ever. The only way to fix the issue once it occurs is to stop what you are doing and restart the computer. . . Doing so might fix it for a week or an hour. In the middle of typing or clicking, or doing anything at all it decides to "sleep"    I can be in the middle of typing something, moving the mouse to click on something, or using the stylus to take notes and without warning it will enter sleep/hibernation mode. . .  I have updated the drivers to the latest that are available, I also updated the BIOS to the latest recommended to see if that might help solve some of the issues. Hello, I have a pretty new Yoga 920-13IKB.  The USB Type A port just stopped working out of the blue yesterday.  I tried the normal stuff like deleting the usb entries in device manager, disabling fastboot and trying different devices, but nothing is recognized.  I have a USB C to USB A adapter and when I plug a USB A device into the laptop via the USB C port/adapter, that does work fine.  The USB A port does charge my phone though, so it's not totally dead. Anything else I can check on the software side?  It certainly seems like a hardware issue to me. As far as warranty support, I do have Microcenter nearby.  How does support with them work?  It looks like the USB A assembly is a separate board and is not part of the motherboard, so that should be easily replaceable.  Does Microcenter carry parts like that or do they still send it out for that? Thanks!

I purchased my Yoga C740-14IML Laptop in January 2020. Since I used a separate keyboard (USB), a second monitor (HDMI), and a mouse (USB), I purchased an ANKER USB-C hub. This did work through my second USB-C port (not the power port) unti I updated the BIOS. I believe at this point that port stopped working. When the hub is connected to that port, none of my peripherals are recognized or operate. It does work when plugged into the power USB-C port, which is great, but I still need to charge my laptop, and this is not a charge-through hub (also, one of the ports should simply not work). I contacted Lenovo customer care, who told me to do a factory reset or send it to one of the service centers. I'd rather do the latter, since I have one close to my office, but I was hoping to avoid both of those options if possible. I have checked that all my drivers are up to date. I'm simply baffled that this happened with my new machine. Any help would be appreciated.
