Preferred Solution: I don't like using my email password upon login of my new windows 10 computer.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Alright, here are the facts:

1. When I start up my machine, the windows login screen tells me that I have (1) message in my Outlook 2007 - I have it set up through google.com, so my Outlook address is a gmail.com address. Yet when I open my Outlook, I don't see anything. Some messages come through, every time I restart, the screen tells me I have a message in there.

2. I had the Outlook 2007 set where when I open it up it asks for a password, and when I send something out, it asks for a password. All of a sudden, it doesn't do this anymore, no matter how many times I restart the computer, or close and open Outlook. I even attempted to use the repair feature in Outlook, but it worked to no avail. What is going on? My business depends on me being to secure my email accounts, and receive important emails - I can't afford to miss a really important one.

3. I also have this software called ComboFix that I've been hearing about which is supposed to be really good, but I didn't run it because I don't have anyone to guide me through any of the results, plus I heard it could possibly mess up my machine. I would like to run it if it will cure my machine and make my life easier.

**My machine is Windows XP.... Please can someone help me? It is greatly appreciated.

Should i perhaps format the whole laptop and begin from the beginning? How on earth would i find what my password and email address was? I have tried everything i can, but i assume there is no way other than formatting right?

After I created an account, I have never been able to access it. When I put in my user name and password, it shows it is wrong. Then, when I click on forgot user name/password, I am asked for my email or account # so they can send a reset link. I have tried both ways and I get a message telling me that my info is not recognized.
Does anyone know what I can do to gain access to my account?

I previously routinely logged into my daughters computer (running Vista Business X64 behind the firewall at her university's network) via TS Web Access. She upgraded the system to Windows 7 Ultimate to solve a video card issue and now the Remote Desktop login fails.  I can get to the machine through the gateway but it gives the "The username or password in incorrect message" on every attempt.I can have someone log using Remote Desktop from the internal network just fine using the absolute same username/password.I have had her check all of the remote settings multiple times (I have seached this one extensively).  Can anyone suggest what the problem may be and a solution.  Or even a method to diagnose would be helpful. This is a critical issue for me since she is near clueless.

A:The username or password is incorrect when attempting login to remote computer running Windows 7 Ultimate via TS Web Access

I found my own answer to this issue after I got acces to the machine physically and was able to view the security logs for the failed login attempts.  For some reason windows seven required that I use the entire computer name \\computer name\account name\ to get to the machine whereas Vista did not require full name.  Problem solved as long as I use the full name convention for the computer as expectedf behind the ts gateway.  Also don't pass the ts gateway credentials on to the remote computer as this causes it to want to log on with those creditials at the machine.

First off, does this even do anything for it? Thus you need to have the password in order to start the computer up right? Or would there be a way for someone to get through the password. So im thinking about putting a password on it but im wondering does that even do anything.

He called me asking for help. Is there anything he can do? He doesn't have any of his system disks at college, so he can't reinstall Windows XP.

A:Forgot computer login password

Reboot the PC in Safe Mode, login using the Administrator account, if this has no password on it then great, if it does have a password on it and it is not known then we can not help you to bypass it.

If you can login using the built in system admin account then once in go to
Start - Run type in control userpasswords2 OK
click on sons username and click on Reset Password, OK

Hi all,

Im new to the site and have a problem that just came up today. I've been using Vista for about an year now and this is the first time this has happened. Currently my computer has two users....one Admin and one other user. When I now try to login to the Admin account, I am asked for a password which I never remember setting. The secondary account is still accessible and that is what I am using now. How do I go about fixing this seeing as all the files that are important for me are on the Admin account and I cannot access my Windows mail either.

All help is appreciated!

Since you are new to this forum I will give you a break on bypassing the forum rules. We cannot help you bypass the admin password on your computer. You still should have the account named Administrator which you can only login into in Safe Mode if you are using Vista Home Premium.

It keeps taking her back to the password screen over and over. We know for sure that she is entering the correct one. Sometimes after she enters her password, the diagnostics will run then it takes her back to reenter her password, over and over again. Also, the previous owner password protected the BIOS but we don't know where she is now to get the password from her. Does anyone know how to solve these problems?.........Thanks........ ~~~~~Dee

I am having a couple of problems that seem to be interlated so not sure where or how to fix it. Following are my computer specificaitons:

Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 3, 32 bit
Processor: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2300 @ 1.66GHz, x86 Family 6 Model 14 Stepping 8
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 502 Mb
Graphics Card: Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family, 128 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 70888 MB, Free - 59267 MB;
Motherboard: LENOVO, MPAD-MSAE Customer Reference Boards
Antivirus: Microsoft Security Essentials, Updated: Yes, On-Demand Scanner: Enabled

When logging in I am able to click directly into the system through an account I set up; however, there is no administrator or working password/ thumbprint entry available. As a result;

1.The password states it is incorrect which is in error as I wrote it down and still have the paper and its the correct one but will not open the system.

2. It work with the ThinkVantage program so I am not able to backup anything with ThinkVantage rescue recovery because neither my fingerprint nor password are valid.

Truly it is a bummer.... What would you suggest?

A:Problems with ThinkVantage and computer login password

IF you are having a problem with accessing a User Account, there is limited help we can give you due to our site's Rules and policies that protect computer security/access and the help we can give.

See this for XP's way of trying to work around a forgotten password:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321305

That will only work in Safe Mode unless you have enabled the builtin Administrator account otherwise.

XP Home Edition is what you have running so follow steps to try and get into Windows from the site above directions.

IF however, you are having a problem with a locked hard drive or computer which is enabled we cannot help you, and most likely there is nothing you can do, the features are set up in the motherboard BIOS and cannot be altered except by expensive tinkering which is slightly risky to the data and the machine. Lenovo's have a Superivsor and a hard drive password and also, as you already are aware, the bootup finger image method. They most likely will not help you but you can try at Lenovo support.

This thread is now going to be Closed as we cannot help with forgotten or unknown passwords except as above.

I found that once I upgraded to Windows 8.1 I had to use my Email account to Log In to my PC.
The User has to have a Windows Account (Mine is originally Hotmail - Live - Outlook).

I can not stand having the same Password and account info from my Email account the same as my PC.

I had to reinstall Windows 8 and then I was able to use a Personalized & Custom User Name & PC Password.

*This coincides with certain software I use when I install the same titles on multiple PCs. *(Serif - WebPlusX6 - I use a common User Name and file location).

***I will not tolerate having to be constricted to a Windows Account that makes me use the same password and user name for my Email Account and my PC.

*****Therefor, WINDOWS 8.1 is useless to me at this time.

P.S. I still get rapid boot times and custom features from Windows 8. *I assigned the Power Button where the old *Start button would be & pinned shortcuts to my task bar to navigate to apps I use frequently.

A:Seperate Windows Account, Email Password From PC Password

Hello Majestone, and welcome to Eight Forums.

You can sign in to Windows 8 with any "local account" or "Microsoft account" you want.

You do not have to setup a "Microsoft account" when installing or setting up Windows 8.1. A trick to this would be to temporarily disconnect the internet when you get to this point to then be able to setup a "Local account" instead.

If you want a Microsoft account, then you could have two Microsoft accounts, and use one to sign in to Windows 8 with and the other for your emails.

Either way, you could easily switch to a local account afterwards.
Local Account - Switch to in Windows 8
...or switch back to any Microsoft account you wanted instead.

Hope this helps,

My PC is fitted with a SATA drive & recently the bios lost the ability to recognize the drive when booting to windows this has happened once before).

Previously I had a password logon to win XP.
Now I have a "old disk structure" pre reinstall BUT as I password protected the old disc / "my documents" I do not have permission to view these areas of the disc.
There are many files I would like to recover from "my docs" if possible.
I know the password used BUT my computer now will have a different identity to before.
Is there any way to recover these files or unlock the password protection on them to view ??
I have plenty of disk space so the old files should not overwritten.
I have tried software called File recovery from PC tools research without much success.

Can anyone help please ??

A:Windows Login Password?

Hello swaMprUnner.

Having a password on all the administrator accounts is always good. I recommend that you don't use an unpassworded admin account for everyday surfing. If you don't want to type in a password everyday, I suggest you create a limited access account without a password. However, it may get frustrating having to log on to the admin account to make system changes.

Some malware will be able to access an unpassworded admin account and do uh... bad things.

Just my opinion anyways.

Hi,

So a friend of mine just got a new Asus laptop that came pre-installed with Windows 8. So on powering up it asked him the basic windows 8 first time setup info. He gave his name etc. but gave a yahoo.com email address instead of a microsoft account (hotmail etc.). So now that he has restarted the PC it takes him to the Windows 8 password login screen which prints his name and yahoo.com email (read-only) and below that the password box. It does not however accept the password he gave when he setup Windows 8. It gives some message about not being able to sign in at this time and please visit account.live.com

Here is where it becomes even more frustrating. In his yahoo.com inbox he has a bunch of automated emails from microsoft about confirming his microsoft account and to click on the confirm link. However this just opens a new tab and takes him to the typical microsoft account login page?? Basically by entering a non-microsoft email address it has stopped him being able to use Windows 8.

Checked Asus website for recovery partition so that I can help my friend redo the setup process. However instructions were for Win7. Laptop did not come with any OS disks and cannot get in to windows, because of above issue, to make a recovery disk. Found this link Reset Windows 8 with the 'Reset your PC option and was thinking of recovering windows 8 that way since these laptops must have the recovery partition. A:Forget Password for Windows Login

Hi and welcome to TSF.
If you read the rules you will see that we cannot give any assistance with circumventing passwords.

ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES

Users may not post hacks, cracks, or give instruction how to pirate any type of software, or anything similar, in any forum of TSF. We do not condone, support or give instruction on any illegal activity pertaining to computer systems, computer hardware, computer software programs or computer related activities. Included in this group of activities are requests for help to circumvent system admin passwords or Administrator settings on networks. We do understand that the majority of requests may be legitimate, but we do not have the means to discern these from non-legitimate requests.

One thing you can try is to login in Safe Mode as Administrator. If no password has been set for the Administrator account simply press return when asked for the password. It is then possible to reset passwords for other User Accounts.

Hi all,

My girlfriend is in Thailand at the moment.
I setup a password for her account using remote assistance, but at the time her computer was set to Thai language and I did not realise when typing the password in. She said she has tried changing the language by doing <alt+shift> and typing the password I set in different languages but she said it is not working.
The only account she had setup was called "Administrator". Is this the same account that is used for Safe Mode? Or does Safe Mode have it's own hidden Administrator and the password cannot be changed unless you change it within Safe Mode?

I am so annoyed at the moment >,<,

Kind regards,

If you're running XP, you should be able to start the computer in Safe Mode and choose the default "Administrator" account which is only available in Safe Mode. To my knowledge, that does NOT require a password and the true "Administrator" account (not the "Admin" one you created) is only available in Safe Mode.

Then follow the directions in this article from Microsoft. Use Method 2 because obviously Method 1 doesn't apply to you.

Hope this helps!

I can't remember fully now but I was having a problem with setting up a schedule in Macrium Reflect, it kept failing to accept my Win 10 password. I went to 'netplwiz' thinking I could just login without a password but then after I rebooted I could only get to the win 10 login screen, the one after the pretty picture. It seems there is a scheduling problem with Reflect after the anniversary update and I haven't been able to use it since.

I reset my Windows password but that fails as well so it seems to me that I somehow need to get back into 'netplwiz' again in order to remove the tick 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer' but I don't know how to get to it! I found this very complicated to understand as it seems to worded back to front, but I was told to add the tick in order NOT to have to log in!

As I downloaded the update and installed it I don't have an ISO, but assuming there is an ISO (anniversary build) can I create one on this spare laptop and use it on the one I can't get into ? That's assuming it will help me to overcome the login problem?

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi. I have two local users on a Windows 10 laptop. I want both to be able to login without a password, just select the user and login. This was possible on Windows 7, but I can't see how on Windows 10. I have run Netplwiz, but this only seems to remove the password login for one user, not both.

Help!

A:How remove Password upon login to Windows 8

Hello Peter, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Unfortunately, you must have a password with a Microsoft account.

However, you could set Windows to automatically sign in to your account at startup.

Log On User Account Automatically at Windows 8 Startup

Hope this helps,

A:Forgot my windows 7 password but can login

Hello gsbharaj,

Since you can log in, you could enable the built-in Administrator, log in to it, then use OPTION TWO below to change or remove the password for the user account that you forgot the password to.

Hope this helps,

Hi @ohzed-osigwe,Welcome to the HP Forums! I have read you are having issues with your HP 14-r022tu Notebook and issues with your Login password. Have you tried a System Restore?  F11 at the very starting of Windows. Here is a link that has helped others.  Please let me know how this goes.  Click the Thumbs up to give me a Kudos high five, just to say thanks for trying.  Thanks.

none off them need the security of having to put a password in on start up and its quite annoying/time consuming

is there any way to bypass this or loging automaticly without having to enter the password?

befor you tell me to remove the password:

this would make 3 of the pcs less usefull and turn one computer (the sever) into a brick with fans so please dont tell me to change my account settings to remove the passwords

been searching for half an hour but cant find anything that helps :/

Hi.

Stupid me, I forgot my Windows 7 Administrator login password for a user's system and my Password Reset "disk" (USB stick) is not here with me right now.
Is there a quality free or inexpensive paid program that can help me retreive or reset it.
I see a million choices on Google but don't know what to trust and need ease of use.

Tnx,

Brad. :-)

Hi,

My partner has a compaq laptop in which she has had for many years. Just recently she changed her windows login password. For some reason the password she thought she changed it too doesn't work and neither does her old password. Now she can not use her laptop as she is unable to login.

I've tried some suggestions like pressing ctrl, alt and the delete button twice but this didn't work for me. I've also tried holding down the F8 and selected start windows normally but it still came to the login screen asking for user password.

Is there anyway of getting around the windows XP pro login password???

Any help will be extremely appreciated.

Cheers

P.S. For those who are thinikng it "no she's not blonde" ;-)

A:By pasing windows XP pro login password?

Wife was nagging me to remove the password at Windows7 startup because it was too long, so I followed the instructions online (unclicked the box to require password at login) and it came up with a box (I don't think was mentioned in the instructions I was following) that told me to enter, and confirm the password. I left them blank since I didn't want a new password.
Now when I startup it still asks me for a password (usename it gives is HomeGroupUser$) and when I try my old password it doesn't work, and when I try leaving it blank and pressing enter it still doesn't work.
So I can't login...
