I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, I recently purchased a Lenovo S340-14IWL Machine Type: 81N7. I have an SSD available with me. (SAMSUNG 2.5" 256GB SSD SATA3.0Gbps) Is it possible to install this SSD alongwith the existing 1TB HDD to my laptop and transfer the windows to the SSD without hampering the warranty. Also i need to know if I can add an 8GB RAM with the below details: Capacity:8GB Single Rank  |  Style:Crucial DDR4 CT8G4SFS824A is a 8GB single ranked DDR4 notebook module that operates at speeds up to 2400 MT/s and has a CL17 latency. It is an Unbuffered SODIMM . It conforms to the industry standard DDR4 SODIMM layout of 260 pins and is compatible with systems that take DDR4 2400MT/s SODIMM memory. Align the notch(es) on the module with the notch(es) in the slot, and then press the module down until the clips on the slot snap into place place. also please clarify whether these activities can be done by me or need to take to some service centers.

I recently purchased a Lenovo IDEAPAD 14" laptop S340-14IWL. I'm finding the display screen is extremely sensitive to viewing angle, in particular in the vertical axis and when watching streaming TV. In particular when watching video like NETFLIX the picture quality is very poor and difficult to watch. I beleive this laptop has a TN display and the poor video quality may be due to the quality of TN panel but not sure if this is a common issue with the S340. Any insights would be appreciated.

Hello, I just received my S340 15" Touch laptop and I found an issue:  When Laptop is in open position and screen is angled more that 60 degrees, when closing laption I hear clicking noise which comes from the left part of the joint. I see there are 3 wires inside and one wire (in the middle) hooks to something inside, when closing the laptopn (move the screen down) that wire is fixed somehwere inside and seemed pulling and then slides of - clicking noise pops out in that moment and its loud. It seems to me that after a long period of use that wire can be damaged beacuse it rubs every time and can be cut, i am affraid. I am going to replace the laptop now. Is it a rare issue? Is there any chance I get same issue with a replaced laptop? Are those wires resposible for the touchscreen function? Thank you.  Thanks.

I purchased a new Ideapad S540-14IWL recently but couldn't find a way how to connect a secondary display via HDMI. I use Windows 10 Pro. So far I've tried the following:- using different monitors;- using different HDMI cables;- installing newer and older Intel VGA drivers;- going through the Windows 10 video troubleshooter;- switching off the laptop and/or the monitor and powering them in various sequences (as suggested in a few articles I found on the Internet);- tried to switch to the second display using Win+P, of course. No matter what, Windows is not able to detect a connected display (even after I manually push the 'Detect' button). The display itself finds no signal. Surprisingly, the Lenovo diagnostics utility couldn?t identify a problem after running both the Display and the Display Interface tests. The laptop is flashed with the latest BIOS. I read other Lenovo models have similar issued when AHCI mode is selected in the BIOS rather than RST. However, switching to RST comes with a warning that the controller change will result in all the data being erased, which I can't afford.  Any help on that issue will be appreciated.

Hello.I recently bought C340 14IWL I5 8265U with VGA onboard Intel Graphic 620.On the back of the device, I can see two slots to release the heat but only the right side is working. I have reviewed some documents from User Guides, Hardware Maintenance Manual and can see the cooling system with two fans.I also know some version with VGA NVIDIA and I wonder if only these versions have a cooling system with two fans? The reason that I ask this's because I often see fans run very fast and make noises. This is my first time using a laptop from Lenovo so I don't know if it's normal or not ? My previous laptop from Asus was rarely able to hear the noise from the fan.And one more thing. I bought this laptop for 20 days and use Conservation Mode. Is full charge capacity (in Lenovo Vantage/Battery) reliable ? 10 days ago I checked and found 45Wh/45Wh(Design). 3 days ago it suddenly reduced to 41/45Wh, then i turned off Conservation mode and fully charged and now it's increased to 42.9/45Wh. (With 10 Cycle count)Thank you

The video below show the inside of the C340 model without the discrete Nvidia graphics, and it does indeed have only a single, but larger, cooling fan than the two fan version.     C340 Fan Removalhttps://download.lenovo.com/lts/RCNW1860/FOF/RCNW1860-IdeapadC340IdeapadFlex_REM_FRU_09_Fan.mp4 More C340 parts removlal/repelacement videoshttps://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/HT508522 I cannot answer you battery questions, but in my experience lithium batteries last longer in conservation mode (lifespan).  Cheers,  Cheers,

This issue started when I was setting up my laptop. I just installed DirectX which is required for a software I use when this shadow appeared at the bottom right side of the screen. I thought it was quite odd so I uninstalled DirectX, but the shadow is still there. I tried reinstalling DirectX and it was still there. Sometimes the shadow disappears, for example, I switched my laptop to tablet mode and it was fixed! I felt so relieved when I made it come out of tablet mode and the shadow was no longer there, a few seconds later, the shadow returned.Does anyone have a solution? Even when the laptop is booting up the shadow is still there, I've been very careful with my laptop so I struggle to think of it as a hardware issue. https://imgur.com/gallery/luzN7hK

So I got a new laptop, a Lenovo s540-14IWL. Everything is great about it, other than the fact that the bezel is not glued properly to the screen at the right and left edges.I had this problem on the original one I got and also on two replacements. I decided to keep it because the price was very good and I really like it. The other options were not nearly as good and as a programmer I need to have a computer all the time. I was wondering if someone could offer some help?I got 2 options:- Live with it.- Send it to the lab under warranty as it's only about a week old (Problem is I saw their work on my cousin's laptop and it wasn't good). Can it cause any further damage to the computer if I leave it like that. To the eye it's not as bad as it looks in the picture. One important note: If I hold it with my hands it will glue back and look perfect for a few minutes (When it was new it stayed for longer) until it goes back to its' original state. Thanks a lot for taking the time to read my post! Here are some pictures:When staring in front of the laptop:Right Side:Left Side:After touching it with my fingers for a few seconds:

A few days later I got the replacement - same exact problem. The sales representative said it is probbly a problem with the whole line. Is that so? I just returned it to get my money back. Is it a known problem? I see that I'm not the only one having this problem. I've been a Lenovo user for most of my life and would like to remain one. Can you please suggest a fix? I've searched through the forums and Lenovo's site and can't come up with a working solution for this new notebook:I have been able to boot a USB that has EFI, but for the life of me I cannot figure out a way to boot from an MBR/legacy USB.I've spent hours trying.  I have tried the steps at https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht076905namely, disabled OS Optimized defaults, then load defaults, but doesn't help - and I'm getting plenty frustrated.I cannot find anyway to get into the Lenovo setup utility (Rev 5.0) other than letting Win10 boot, then going to settings/recovery/advance options to boot into UEFI Bios. The Boot Mode always stays at UEFI, with USB Boot enabled, can only boot GPT/EFI USB sticks not MBR/Legacy. What am I doing wrong?

Hi -- I have an IdeaPad S340 that is less than a year old. I use Zoom and Microsoft Teams almost every day for video calls. Out of nowhere people are saying they can barely hear me or that I sound garbled or underwater. I have uninstalled and installed Zoom several times, and have tested on Skype and others so I know it's a computer issue. I believe this started after I had one call where I plugged in an external microphone (which works fine). I have also checked the settings on the computer and Zoom to make sure it's routing to the system mic and not to the (now unplugged) external mic. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

A:What is Maximum RAM for S340-15IWL (Intel) platform?

Hi g725s,

Greetings.

It is true that manufacturer max supported ram is 12 GB and having more is not offered or not been certified for the system.

I was not able to find any confirmed case yet for placing a 16GB on the single slot but you may want to check with other resellers that may offer it with a good return option just in case. It sure is nice if a spare 16GB DDR4 ram can be checked on this model.

If you have a SATA 2.5" SSD in your notebook - you can add an M.2 PCI Express NvMe driveIf you have an M.2 drive, you can add a 2.5" SATA drive (mechanical HDD or SSD) as long as height conforms to specs My Ideapad S340-15IWL came with a 256gb NvMe drive (gen 2 I think). I immediately added a 512gb sata SSD and had 2 drives. There was nothing extra I needed to buy as the empty slot for the 2.5" drive had the mounting kit empty already in the machine. Couple weeks ago, I bought an Intel 660p M.2 2TB NvMe drive, wanting to use it in an older Win7 desktop to replace a Samsung 970EVO 512gb M.2 drive. Basically, can use Samsung M.2 in Win7 as a boot drive pretty easily, but found it nearly impossible to do with an Intel drive (Win7 doesn't have the pre-GUI drivers needed to bootup from the drive). So, decided to replace both the 2.5" SSD I added to the Ideapad and the original Lenovo-supplied M.2 drive with the Intel 2TB M.2 drive. Using a Qnime NvMe USB enclosure (temporarily put the Intel drive in it and connect to Ideapad USB port), boot the Lenovo with a G4L (Ghost for Linux) bootable USB drive, and clone the internal Lenovo M.2 drive to the Intel M.2 with G4L's Click'nClone. When the clone was done, shut down, and then removed the bottom cover from the Lenovo, and disconnected the battery from the motherboard. Removed the Lenovo-supplied 256gb M.2 (which has both M and B keys and is a 2240 form factor) and put in the Intel 2TB M.2 (which has only... I have an ideapad S340-15IWL, the 81N8003SUS model to be exact. Core i5-8265U, 8 gigs RAM, 15.6" monitor and 256 GB SSD. Purchased via walmart.com, as the eact same model at Staples was sold out, as I purchased this at the start of september. I've had it the three months total. Last tuesday night in the middle of a programing assignment for a college class the screen went black (black as in no signal, as if somoene cut the connector) and the entire machine was unresponsive. Holing the power button or Novo button did nothing until this morning (thrusday morning) when the battery finally gave out and the machine was able to be rebooted. Tuesday via live chat a service rep said to leave it overnight and see if the battery drains. It lasted until last night sometime. yesterday (wednesday) I contacted lenovo support and they suggested it may be a hardware issue inside the machine and are sending out a box and opened up a ticket, as it' is under warranty being only three months old. The machine booted up this morning via holding the Novo button and booting normally. Is this a hardware issue? Is it known? Will it happen again? Should I send it back anyways? There's no way to open it up and disconnect the battery without voiding the warranty. I would like to feel relaitively safe this won't happen in the middle of an important assignment as all my classes are online based via Blackboard (or a new system the uni is switching to next semester)
