I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

The page will refresh.
Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.

This was how the computer was setup when it arrived.

My internet has the following problem:
I cant open facebook or youtube with http. When I try, request times out.
all the time I want to open them I should change http >> to >> https. I know it's S stands for secure connection and thing but this is really annoying.
still It's simple to change http with https, but the most annoying part is, that all the external links I try to open from Facebook are opened with HTTP, like this :
Code:
http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DRQ5ljyGg-ig&h=SAQFjVP-_AQHPeSLtLXRD5fHpvggng9olROSkaihM9VfEBg&enc=AZPUnXfInCazM4cS0S9g9A9rlaH3tFGQvqlhlk8bfdRScNi7Bm8ZTMvZIYnIdrp2ZgaZ4p2Sb_9mv3cf_8F2PosL
So I had to change them with https too.

I have tried almost every browser: Chrome, Opera, Comodo, IE. It does same in every of them.

Last time I also discovered that my Live Messenger didn't connect also, when I 'Troubleshoot' the problem it says Problem is in- Key Ports. maybe this information also will help you.

any solutions?
Thanks in advance

Hi,

I'm using a IBM thinkpad laptop.
I was surfing normally through wifi but a firewalled network. I tried to installed firefox and surf with it. Everything works fine, till I shut down and start at elsewhere. I connect my laptop to a direct cable connection using ethernet which just works fine yest and everyday. I can't access h.t.t.p.s secure websites, windows update, msn messenger. I do not have any firewall except the microsoft's SP2 firewall. Even I off it, the things just won't run.

I'm running IBM access connection which is a program to manage profiles of my connection that I can create many profiles and just connect it with all the setting in it. It was after installing firefox and when I switch the profile, the things stop working.

I tried to uninstall the firefox, but the things just won't work. The IE shows the regular can't find page, while the firefox says the connection had timed out.

I went back to the wifi network again, the things work! I had searched the forum with h.t.t.p.s, and tried all the methods to solve the problems. But to no avail.

I really need help on this! As I desperately need to access those secured websites. First, thanks to the people who read this post and tried to help me. Greatly appreciate to the people who can help me on this!

Greetings all,
I am running the IE 8.0.6001.18372 RC1 and having problem accessing a certain HTTPS site which is a Cisco CSA management console access. I do not have a problem accessing to other HTTPS sites on the net.
I can access the same site from IE 7.0 just fine.

Cisco CSAMC runs on one of the inside domain member servers and it has own certificate, normally if you are accessing for the first time you will be prompted with a standard IE page "There is a problem with this website's security certificate" but once you proceed to the web site with "Continue to this website (not recommended)." you will be at the CSAMC login page which you can download and install the certificate and after that point you will no longer be prompted for security certificate issue. This process works fine from any PC accessing with IE 7.0.

I have tried the same thing from IE 8.0 and just as expected at first I am prompted with "There is a problem with this website's security certificate" and when I do proceed with "Continue to this website (not recommended)." I am getting ?Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage?.
I have tried installing the certificate manually but it doesn?t seem to help at all. I was wondering if there is way around this issue or am I missing something.

Any lead would be appreciated.
Thank you

Hi ... welcome to TSF

Has this problem just started? Have you perhaps recently installed any new firewalls - such as zone alarm?

Try switching off any firewalls that you have just to test out this possibility.

I would suggest clearing out your browser of cookies and temp files - go up to TOOLS>Internet Options and delete files and cookies, then click on the programs tab and click 'Reset Web Settings'.

Make sure you have the latest IE updates.

If you have a Windows CD, put it in a drive and go to START>RUN and type sfc /scannow - hit Enter (the space after sfc is essential).

Have you checked for spyware/adware/viruses? If not, download AdAware-SE, Spybot Search and Destroy and try some online virus scans:-

http://www.pandasoftware.com/product..._principal.htm
http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/

If none of this helps, please post again, letting us know what you have tried with a note of any results/reactions.

It used to allow me to do that until the end of July 2009, and after an automatic windows update regarding IE, it did now allow me to do that anymore. I tried removing the update that was done on the date of 7/27, but ended in vain.

Also used FireFox and could not access it. I use the latest version of McAfee. I also made sure that SSL is selected in Tool-option. Also, I added the https:/ site to a list of permitted websites, but still could not access it.

Hope I get some help from you guys!! Thanks in advance!

Hello friends!

Whenever I try to open any secured site i.e. htttps site, my browser shows a screen which says "This connection is untrusted and to continue, it asks me to add an exception". This is happening in all https sites including banking sites. This never happened earlier and all these sites opened normally till yesterday. I even tried different browsers bit the problem is the same.

Then I tried to open the same site on a different PC connected on the same network and the site opened normally. This means that the problem is just with one PC.

What exactly is happening? Can this be because of some virus attack or is this normal and safe?

Please help.

A:Security problem with https sites

Is that a warning from Firefox? If not, what browser are you using?

The first thing to check would be that your computer's time is set correctly.

Also, please edit your profile to put your computer specs in the computer specs field rather than in your signature as that is what that area is designed for. Thanks.

My computer is getting attacked - very often- by what Norton Antivirus describes as Https Tidserv Request or Https Tidserv Request 2. From looking at other posts on this site, I suspect my computer has some kind of rootkit virus.

The Norton antivirus scans do not pickup anything - but fairly frequently, either svchost.exe, or ccSvcHst.exe takeup almost all of my CPU power. I can kill the svchost ones through task manager, but the ccSvcHst.exe (supposedly a norton app) can not be stopped.

I posted this issue originally yesterday - but in doing so I replied to my own posting a number of times - because I had problems posting the dds.txt. So I closed that posting and started a new one so someone would reply to it. The dds.txt for some reason would not post directly - so I had to attach it as dds1.zip.

I would really appreciate any help I can get - I need to clean this up!

Hi
I'm getting a very frustrating issue with connecting to a secure api - it's at https://api.betdaq.com/v2.0/secure/secureservice.asmx
From my windows 10 machine I can access it fine, and (using Firefox) I can see that it has a security certificate supplied by COMODO CA Limited, and connects over TLS 1.2 with the following cipher suite:  TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA.
All fine.
I've got an app running on a Server 2016 Datacenter VPS though, which refuses to connect.  The VPS providers have assured me that there are no firewall or proxy restrictions, I can telnet fine to the server, but I can't make any headway with understanding
what the connection issues are.
Using IE on the 2016 server to hit the api, I get the following response:
This page can?t be displayed

Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 in Advanced settings and try connecting to https://api.betdaq.com  again. If this error persists, it is possible that this site uses an unsupported protocol or cipher suite such as RC4 (link for the details), which
is not considered secure. Please contact your site administrator.
(And just to confirm, I don't experience these issues with other secure sites / services).
I've installed Microsoft Message Analyzer and Wireshark to see what's happening, but neither flag up any errors (at least not to my untrained eye).  The client hello is sent, but then there are a host of RST ACK messages, and that's it.  (Apologies,

System - Windows XP

A few days ago I noticed some problems in updating my stock prices using Microsoft Money and Quicken. Also, when I logged on to my online bank the site kept on asking me my security questions. It told me to avoid this I should allow cookies to be placed upon my laptop. I'm using Firefox and it is set to allow cookies. As a matter of fact the cookies for this particular bank site were are ready in Firefox. (one does expire in a few days, but it is OK for now).

I asked other users if they were able to download the stock prices using Quicken and Money, and they reported no problem.

Up to this point, the only problems I had were described above. Using Firefox and Microsoft Outlook, I was able to browse the Internet, send and receive e-mails, and perform all normal wireless communication functions and run World of Warcraft.

I attempted to use Internet Explorer 7 ( that was previously installed on my PC months ago) to hook up to the Internet. For some reason Internet explorer could not hook up. I downloaded the Internet Explorer again and reinstalled. Same result, I could not hook up to the Internet using Internet Explorer. Not that I matter too much about not using Internet Explorer, but I think this is an indication of the same problem that I'm having downloading stock prices, and signing on to my online bank. Using Internet Explorer I ran a network diagnostics check. Basically it told me to check the firewall settings for each HTTP port 80, H... Read more

Before this happened, my virus ambush started with malware which kept spamming me with fake alerts of viruses and kept asking me to install their antivirus programs (unfortunately, I also forgot what the malware was called). I used Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware with the help of this 'rkill' MS-DOS application (which terminated its processes) to supposedly remove it.

But now, I'm getting this! This is my worst nightmare. I started getting this report last night and I'm still under attacks every few minutes!

Norton keeps reporting this intrusion attack from the attacking computer a57990057.cn (and occasionally, a5899058.cn) on SVCHOST.EXE which is in my system32 folder. I'm not good with this kind of stuff, so please, please bear with me.

After looking through numerous guides which I found through google and here and running Norton scans, nothing has worked (Though I've managed to quarantine some MBR rootkit files along with one Trojan.Backdoor file with Malwarebytes'). And now, I can't even run safe mode (due to unknown errors) and my system restore points have been deleted (due to my own mistake)!

My computer and especially my browser, Firefox is extremely buggy, and is prone to crashing to the slightest lag spikes. Every search now on google redirects me to spam, too. I've already experienced the BSOD (MYSQL error) twice today.

Good day all,

This problem is boggling. It has been mentioned on many forums for as far back as 2008, but I can not find any solution to it.

I have deduced that the problem should lie with windows, based on everything I have tried.

Problem: All videos on youtube, g4tv.com and all sites only load the first few seconds, and then "hang". Either it stops buffering or just hangs, but the video stops loading completely. Clicking around on the progress bar sometimes get the video to load another few seconds before hanging again. This occurs in both Flashplayer AND HTML5 players. Strangely enough, with the flashplayer, when I hit refresh, the video will all of a sudden play! But only for a split second before the page is reloaded and the hanging starts all over again. The extent of what loads is completely random, sometimes 5 seconds, sometimes 30 seconds....

Problem: Webpages like Facebook do not load properly - galleries do not show up, notifications and messages don't showing up in the popup window. The news feed loads a page full of stories, but does not continue to load when I scroll down. Another site which doesn't work is https version of telkom.co.za, so I think it's https sites in general. The rest of the internet works fine!

Here is what I have tried to do to which have all NOT resolved the problem:

Tried Telnet on, and off
Tried Port conflict (couldn't find any)
Tried resetting ip/dns release thingy
Tried moving headphones to another usb... Read more

Ironically, after loading the page, the address bar shows the http version of the page and not the https version.

For example, if type "cats" in the Google searchbar, the third entry down is a link to www/vetstreet.com/cats/. Norton appears to be detecting and containing the attacks for now, but full scans from both norton and malware bytes have brought up nothing. As requested I have the DDS log, but I was unable to successfully scan with GMER. I tried 4 times, and my computer froze twice, and BSOD twice. Here is the DDS log:DDS (Ver_10-03-17.01) - NTFSx86 Run by Aaron Smith at 23:42:19.71 on Sat 07/10/2010Internet Explorer: 6.0.2900.5512 BrowserJavaVersion: 1.6.0_16Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 5.1.2600.3.1252.1.1033.18.3071.1852 [GMT -5:00]AV: Norton 360 *On-access scanning enabled* (Updated) {E10A9785-9598-4754-B552-92431C1C35F8}FW: Norton 360 *enabled* {7C21A4C9-F61F-4AC4-B722-A6E19C16F220}============== Running Processes ===============C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost -k DcomLaunchC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost -k rpcssC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcsC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe -k NetworkServiceC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe -k LocalServiceC:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exeC:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXEC:\WINDOWS\RTHDCPL.EXEC:\Program Files\Belkin\F5D7050v3\Belkinwcui.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\RUNDLL32.EXEC: ... Hello.
I'm running W10 and IE11. Earlier my internet connection went down but now has come back up. There is a noise problem on my line and the disconnection is expected behaviour. But, since the connection came back my browser will only access https capable sites, no http. This is a pain because a lot of my Favourites are http only. As a matter of fact, even some https sites wont download. There are far too many of these instances to be just sites going down etc. Does this sound like a setting has changed somewhere, or maybe could the poor connection be causing an issue, even though everything was working as normal until the system went down for a while, and the noise problem is not new.
Cheers

I am having trouble with IE7 and https:// sites. I can open all http:// sites no problem. When it comes to https:// it will not work. Is this just a setting that got messed up somewhere?

A:Ie7 & https://

This is a c&p troubleshoot for https connect problems.

Verify that Internet Explorer Is Using 128-Bit Encryption:

In Internet Explorer, on the Help menu, click About Internet Explorer
The level of encryption on your computer appears next to the words Cipher Strength.
Verify that the Cipher Strength value appears as 128-bit
If the Cipher Strength is anything less then 128-bit, download the "Explorer Internet High Encryption Pack" to your computer's hard disk, and then install it.

Delete Temporary Internet Files
There's also a possibility of some corrupted files in your Temporary Internet Files (TIF) storage. You should clear these
In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and select the General tab
Under Temporary Internet files, click Delete Files, and click OK when you are prompted to confirm the deletion

Configure Security settings for the Trusted sites zone in Internet Explorer:
In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and select the Security tab
Select Trusted sites, and then click Default Level
Add the secure Web site you are trying to access to the Trusted sites zone. To do so, click Sites, type the address (URL) of the site in the Add this Web site to the zone box
Click Add, click OK, and then click Apply

Clear the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) slate and AutoComplete history:
In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and select the Content tab

Q: https

Hello,

I use the Citrix Web Client is connect to work and the comms is over https but quite often the incoming comms stops and so I have to close the client then try the original https URL again and get server timed out. My work nor my ISP how how to solve this.
My modem is a Linksys WAG200G with firmware 1.01.05. My browser and email still works, just seems my HTTPS stops. Any ideas please.

A:https

Try clearing your cache, Are you getting interrupts with your internet service? I believe Citrix will complain if your internet drops out while connected. Try running CCleaner, it will clear out all of your internet cache and other junk sitting on your machine.

www.ccleaner.com

Also you might want to run spyware scans. Download Windows Defender and Spybot search & destroy.

What I'm wondering is, if I'm downloading movies from the newsgroup is my isp going to see matrix.avi comming across there server from alt.movies.divx or it is just going to look like garbage. My isp is cracking down on movies/music downloads.

More so just an example to figure out how https works.

How do l get my browser type in only the https sites. My roommate thinks if I don't use the https. Then we are going to be hacked, jacked or who knows. Please can someone shed some light on this for me. Thank you

A:https?

Oh dear, nope, it's not true, https connections are just for passwords, websites come across encrypted in https mode and decrypted when the site gets a handshake from your pc, it's just a more secure way of entering form info and passwords, but to be honest, if your computer isn't secure on the virus front, the https connection is irrelevant.

Security has always been critical to the web, but challenges involved in site migration have inhibited HTTPS adoption for several years. In the interest of a safer web for all, at Google we?ve worked alongside many others across the online ecosystem to better understand and address these challenges, resulting in real change. A web with ubiquitous HTTPS is not the distant future. It?s happening now, with secure browsing becoming standard for users of Chrome.

Today, we?re adding a new section to the HTTPS Report Card in our Transparency Report that includes data about how HTTPS usage has been increasing over time. More than half of pages loaded and two-thirds of total time spent by Chrome desktop users occur via HTTPS, and we expect these metrics to continue their strong upward trajectory.
Percentage of pages loaded over HTTPS in Chrome

As the remainder of the web transitions to HTTPS, we?ll continue working to ensure that migrating to HTTPS is a no-brainer, providing business benefit beyond increased security. HTTPS currently enables the bestperformance the web offers and powerful features that benefit site conversions, including both new features such as service workers for offline support and web push notifications, and existing features such as credit card autofill and the HTML5 geolocation API that are too powerful to be used over non-secure HTTP. As with all major site migrations, there are certain steps webmasters should take to ensure that search ranking tra... Read more
