I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I freshly reinstalled my windows 7.
before and after the install,
when I watch videos on youtube.com (that's the only example atm),
the videos play great, flawless framerate, no matter the quality.
but they will randomly lockup. pause. only while in fullscreen.
high speed internet, videos have completed downloading, streaming speed isn't the issue.

if i press ESC to the video minimizes to a smaller display and works flawlessly,
if i press full screen again, the video continues flawlessly, untill 5 or 10 seconds later,
no specific time, they may more may not pause again.

no other system annoyances that i can recall.
i tried updating divx, although Ive never had to install those to watch youtube.

any ideas what could cause full screen video lockup?
ESC and a refullscreen instantly solves the issue, but i have to do it a few times throughout some videos.

reinstall java maybe? seems like I had to install java to watch youtube. i forget.

A:full screen youtube video lockup (soft soft)

I would make sure my Java script was OK. Do you run Trend A/V by any chance. This can block Java! What's you broadband speed? Does this happen at all times of the day or only at specific times?

hi there ,

Inspite of being very careful , I'm having troubles with that stupid trojan and virus alerts for 2 days now.. I tried kaspersky6 and nod32 to detect and clean the reason but had no luck till then..

well, here are the details..

I cannot see temporary internet files folder which should be in :

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings folder.

and those gifs are created periodically , after deleting , they appear again some time later in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp folder.

nod32 is alerting like crazy about those gifs , you can see the quarantine screenshots below

finally, you can see the combofix and hijackthis logs below..

Sorry for the delay in response. The forum has been very busy.

Please note that Combofix is a very powerful tool and should never be used without supervision by a trained analyst. Under certain conditions, it may render the machine unbootable. If you haven't received help elsewhere and still need assistance, please proceed with the following instructions:

A:Best soft to recover 3TB HDD of GPT on wondows 7 ? free soft most like

I just recently had a problem similar to yours, just mine was a bit more complex and have put it on the 'backburner' untill I have more time. I havent found a reason why my disk did 'fail' but dont worry, it can be recovered. Greg recommended this program to solve my solutions, Partition Wizard. This comes in many 'formats' Home version is what you want, it is free and allows you to do the tasks you will need. There is also a more advanced 'bootable' cd which can aslo be foudn on their website. By following this link to a video guide, you have lots of chances of recovering most-all of your data, only downside is that you must have a seperate hdd to copy the recovered files onto, be it your internal HDD or an external one. DONT COPY YOUR RESTORED FILES STRAIGHT BACK ONTO THE DRIVE as this may lead to permenante data loss. It is upto you if you choose the cd/normal one. Could i recommend you ask gregrocker to have a say in this thread as he knows alot in this area,

Recently when my satellite internet ceased to work for over 30 hours I contacted my ISP Hughesnet. After doing the usual dumb routine that other satellite internet users probably know, he concluded that my internet was not working because I did not have my IP address set to obtain automatically. I have been using this internet for two months and this has never caused an issue before. Even though after arguing with him and changing it to make him happy it came on about 75 seconds later, I refuse to believe that was my true issue. So I was wondering if anyone with a lot of networking knowledge could verify that this was indeed the problem. I would like to change it back because I had set my own IP address for a reason.

Edit: The thing that makes it even harder to believe him is that I had my modem hooked directly to the computer when I called, and he had me run ipconfig and insisted that I was connected to a router. He said that whatever it is that he asked for in this information had indicated I WAS connected to a router. I was not. I was seriously connected directly to my modem. We argued about it for at least 5 minutes.

Ok, just upgraded to Windows 10 this week and been bashing my head bloody for two days on networking issues. What on the green Earth are my networking credentials in Win10? I have a Microsoft account I'm logging into Win10 pc with (which I hate but besides the point), everything is asking me for credentials, and I put in the email address and password I log into Windows with and it doesn't work. I have a network with a workgroup and homegroup set up, and my Win7 pc and Win8 pc have no problems talking to each other but My Win10 can't access the win7 pc, though it accesses the Win8 pc just fine. I also can't access a WDMyCloud on my network, it keeps asking me for Windows credentials and nothing I put in works, it does not like the email address/pass I use to log in to Windows 10 either. I'm literally stumped. Can someone help me out?

I'm tearing my hair out !
(And there's not that much of it.)

I have a set of laptops (used in a school classroom). They connect to the LAN via wireless .. or, at least, they used to.

Specifically: Toshiba SP2100 with D-Link AirPlus G+ wireless PCMCIA cards.

After trying many, many things:

- Boot SP2100 from XP CD (SP2)
- Don't fix any of the driver issues
- Plug wireless card in
- Cancel plug&play
- Install correct driver with d/loaded Setup_v204.exe
- WZC managing wireless connection
- Sees wireless network (WEP) but
- Won't connect automatically (after setup wizard)
- Won't connect manually
BUT ..
- Boot into "safe mode with networking" and wireless works faultlessly

I've got to be missing something really simple.
Please, please can anyone tell me what it is ?

Thanks !

Does anyone out there know what this thing is and perhaps more important how do you use it?

There is no software replacement for RAM. Soft RAM never really worked anyways. The best option is to buy more RAM.
Run the Crucial System Scanner, this will tell you how much RAM and what type and it will tell you the maximum amount of RAM your motherboard will support. Then you can purchase it from anywhere not just Crucial.

My daughter called the other evening, "Daddy, I need help, I have something called Antivirus Soft on my computer and I don't know what to do about it".

I did a Google search and came across the following link

I walked her through all 21 steps of the uninstall guide given there-- including the download of the latest version of Malwarebytes Antimalware & downloaded the recommended "rkill.com Download Link"

The first time through she received notification of a 732 error with Malwarebytes Antimalware- while trying to update it, so we went on the Malwarebytes Antimalware forum and followed their recommendations for settings in IE8-- then it updated with no problems.

Ran the scan and found a few problems but Malwarebytes Antimalware was able to delete them (or so it said). Also, I did tell her to check each reported reference to make sure it was not in the "RESTORE" folder- as I know many infections like to hide there and re-attack once rebooted.

I then had her update and run SuperAntiSpyware free edition-- found only a few tracking cookies--- deleted them and it was late so she shut down the computer (plus some cookies needed re-boot anyway).

Next day I suggested she manually update AVG (her antivirus) and manually run a scan, as well as repeat the Malwarebytes Antimalware & SuperAntiVirus free--- and was told that the later two found the same in... Read more

Now I need simple (I'm hoping) instructions on how to remove this beast from my computer and a suggestion on a REAL Antivirus Protection that would have caught this before I fell into their trap. Hello all, I am a beginner at getting rid of viruses, but I have gotten viruses before like Antivirus Soft and usually rkill and malwarebytes does the trick in normal mode. This time, I followed the guide from bleepingcomputer and started my computer in safe mode with networking. There were two options for my Windows XP and I picked the first one and logged in as the Compaq Administrator. I got into Safe Mode with Networking and started using Mozilla Firefox. The Antivirus Soft was not there on the task bar or anything anymore (only the time shows), and I followed the instructions and used rkill and tried to run Malwarebytes-antimalware, but since I am in safe mode, it will not allow me to run it.

So I try going back into normal mode, but Antivirus Soft is so fast at deleting programs that I have no chance of running rkill. I tried downloading so many rkill files on firefox and opening all at the same time, but Antivirus Soft deletes all at the same time. Since I cannot use rkill, I cannot use Malwarebytes to get rid of it.

Is there a way in Safe Mode to use Malwarebytes or just get rid of all the programs Antivirus Soft is using? I would do it manually, but I don't know where to start in my programs to find the HKEYs and stuff like that. I tried looking through files, but that gave me a headache, I tried searching in safe mode for them, but you have to search for files, not HKEYs....

Help please! This is literally driving me crazy. I spent well over ... Read more

HiContracted the Antispyware Soft bug/virus last Friday, May 28th. Got hit with it all at once, with repeated warning boxes about all sorts of random programs, frozen browsers, and then the "program scan box" showing up and "running". I rebooted after about 15 minutes, and got MalwareBytes to update and run. It seemed to do the trick. I rebooted, then ran AntiVir virus scan, which caught a few other things. I rebooted, and then downloaded and ran SuperAntiSpyware, which caught a few MORE things. Everything seemed fine, but then the next day (Saturday 29th) things started acting funny again, though there weren't any more warning boxes or the AntispywareSoft program box. I then followed these instructions http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-remo...ntispyware-soft I ran them twice for good measure, once in safe mode, once out. MalwareBytes didn't catch anything else, but I think something is still kicking. I cannot update Avira AntiVir at all (last update was Friday 28th). When I try to update SuperAntiSpyware I get error messages that it is being blocked (I did add it to the firewall exception list, and it did nothing). MalwareBytes does seem to be updating, but it's not catching anything. Browser still continues to run painfully slow, somethings seem to just not work, even though they should (e.g., Flash). Hopefully you can help me root this out for good. I know it's still in there - either AntispywareSoft, or something else now. Thank ... Read more

I have done a number of things including restored to an earlier date, HiJack This, MalwareBytes, Spybot and AdAware.

It seems to keep coming back. I can't figure out whether I actually get rid of it and then get it again, or if I just dont' quite get rid of it.

In addition to this, I also get new tab popups on BOTH IE AND Firefox!

Here is my HiJack this log. Hope someone can see something I am missing. This log is right after doing a full scan of Malware, Spybot and removing "ftav" references found in the HiJack this log, as well as removing any instances in the registry. I'm posting here after being directed from http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/324177/antispyware-soft-residual-problems-after-removal/I mostly run linux but my children run Windows. My son picked up an infection with the Antispyware soft rogue spyware/scareware virus. I was able to remove most of it with MalwareBytes and removing the startup programs and bad registry entries. I also removed the bad proxy entry. So now I can mostly use the internet, but there are still problems. When I try to run Windows Update, Internet Explorer says the page is cannot be displayed. When I go to windowsupdate.microsoft.com with the Firefox browser, it says that the connection was reset. When I go there from an uninfected machine I get a message from Microsoft to use Internet Explorer with ActiveX turned on, so I know the virus is blocking things at a low level. I can get to other microsoft.com sites, just not ones that seem related to updates. Other weird network things also occur. When I am doing a google search for virus information I will get hits from many sites, such as bleepingcomputer.com. If I hover over the link, it shows the correct URL. If I right-click on the link to open it in a new tab, it sends me to some other unrelated garbage site. If I right-click and copy the link location and paste it into the URL bar in a new tab, I get to the correct spot. It is very weird that I'm having problems with both IE and Firefox.I have reset all the settings in IE without any resolution.... Read more

Hi! I just got this hp pavilion gaming notebook - 15-ak049tx and I always use skype to talk to my friends whenever I play games with them but some how this laptop's microphone volume is so extremely soft that my friend can't hear me. All the microphone options that is available has the same result.  I realize there is no microphone plug on this laptop as well. Only for headphones. Is there anyway to fix this problem? Please help thank you!

A:Microphone is very soft.

Hi @Resia, Welcome to HP Forums! I have read your post and wanted to help. I understand that when you use the microphone on the laptop, your friends cannot hear you clearly. Please try the steps on this document: HP PCs - Resolving Microphone Problems (Windows 10, 8) Let me know if it helps to resolve the problem. If you want to use an external microphone, since your laptop has 1 headphone/microphone combo port based on the specifications of your model, you will need a split, if your headphone/microphone set has two plugs; or you can use a headphone/microphone set with one plug. If this post helps you to reach a solution, please click the "Accept as Solution" button down below in this message. If you wish to say "thanks" for my effort to help, click the "thumbs up" to give me Kudos. Regards,
