Preferred Solution: ask abt. best soft. for networking

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I freshly reinstalled my windows 7.
before and after the install,
when I watch videos on youtube.com (that's the only example atm),
the videos play great, flawless framerate, no matter the quality.
but they will randomly lockup. pause. only while in fullscreen.
high speed internet, videos have completed downloading, streaming speed isn't the issue.

if i press ESC to the video minimizes to a smaller display and works flawlessly,
if i press full screen again, the video continues flawlessly, untill 5 or 10 seconds later,
no specific time, they may more may not pause again.

no other system annoyances that i can recall.
i tried updating divx, although Ive never had to install those to watch youtube.

any ideas what could cause full screen video lockup?
ESC and a refullscreen instantly solves the issue, but i have to do it a few times throughout some videos.

reinstall java maybe? seems like I had to install java to watch youtube. i forget.

A:full screen youtube video lockup (soft soft)

I would make sure my Java script was OK. Do you run Trend A/V by any chance. This can block Java! What's you broadband speed? Does this happen at all times of the day or only at specific times?

hi there ,

Inspite of being very careful , I'm having troubles with that stupid trojan and virus alerts for 2 days now.. I tried kaspersky6 and nod32 to detect and clean the reason but had no luck till then..

well, here are the details..

I cannot see temporary internet files folder which should be in :

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings folder.

and those gifs are created periodically , after deleting , they appear again some time later in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp folder.

nod32 is alerting like crazy about those gifs , you can see the quarantine screenshots below

finally, you can see the combofix and hijackthis logs below..

A:Best soft to recover 3TB HDD of GPT on wondows 7 ? free soft most like

I just recently had a problem similar to yours, just mine was a bit more complex and have put it on the 'backburner' untill I have more time. I havent found a reason why my disk did 'fail' but dont worry, it can be recovered. Greg recommended this program to solve my solutions, Partition Wizard. This comes in many 'formats' Home version is what you want, it is free and allows you to do the tasks you will need. There is also a more advanced 'bootable' cd which can aslo be foudn on their website. By following this link to a video guide, you have lots of chances of recovering most-all of your data, only downside is that you must have a seperate hdd to copy the recovered files onto, be it your internal HDD or an external one. DONT COPY YOUR RESTORED FILES STRAIGHT BACK ONTO THE DRIVE as this may lead to permenante data loss. It is upto you if you choose the cd/normal one. Could i recommend you ask gregrocker to have a say in this thread as he knows alot in this area,

Ok, just upgraded to Windows 10 this week and been bashing my head bloody for two days on networking issues. What on the green Earth are my networking credentials in Win10? I have a Microsoft account I'm logging into Win10 pc with (which I hate but besides the point), everything is asking me for credentials, and I put in the email address and password I log into Windows with and it doesn't work. I have a network with a workgroup and homegroup set up, and my Win7 pc and Win8 pc have no problems talking to each other but My Win10 can't access the win7 pc, though it accesses the Win8 pc just fine. I also can't access a WDMyCloud on my network, it keeps asking me for Windows credentials and nothing I put in works, it does not like the email address/pass I use to log in to Windows 10 either. I'm literally stumped. Can someone help me out?

Recently when my satellite internet ceased to work for over 30 hours I contacted my ISP Hughesnet. After doing the usual dumb routine that other satellite internet users probably know, he concluded that my internet was not working because I did not have my IP address set to obtain automatically. I have been using this internet for two months and this has never caused an issue before. Even though after arguing with him and changing it to make him happy it came on about 75 seconds later, I refuse to believe that was my true issue. So I was wondering if anyone with a lot of networking knowledge could verify that this was indeed the problem. I would like to change it back because I had set my own IP address for a reason.

Edit: The thing that makes it even harder to believe him is that I had my modem hooked directly to the computer when I called, and he had me run ipconfig and insisted that I was connected to a router. He said that whatever it is that he asked for in this information had indicated I WAS connected to a router. I was not. I was seriously connected directly to my modem. We argued about it for at least 5 minutes.

I'm tearing my hair out !
(And there's not that much of it.)

I have a set of laptops (used in a school classroom). They connect to the LAN via wireless .. or, at least, they used to.

Specifically: Toshiba SP2100 with D-Link AirPlus G+ wireless PCMCIA cards.

After trying many, many things:

- Boot SP2100 from XP CD (SP2)
- Don't fix any of the driver issues
- Plug wireless card in
- Cancel plug&play
- Install correct driver with d/loaded Setup_v204.exe
- WZC managing wireless connection
- Sees wireless network (WEP) but
- Won't connect automatically (after setup wizard)
- Won't connect manually
BUT ..
- Boot into "safe mode with networking" and wireless works faultlessly

I've got to be missing something really simple.
Please, please can anyone tell me what it is ?

Thanks !

I don't go to exotica on the internet and was visiting my usual sites so don't have a notion as to how. My question is, do you think this is gone or could there still be remnants of it on my pc? I have absolutely no symptoms - pc is still fast and everything loads easily. I am hesitant to use anything of a financial nature that requires password entry, i.e., Paypal. I would like to purchase the full version of MWB and Avast5 using my Paypal account but hesitate to do so at this point. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks very much.

Let's try creating a boot disk that may allow me to get you going:

Using OTLPE

This file is quite large, and requires a CD/DVD burner, and a blank CD on a clean machine. A USB device would be handy as well.Download and install ISOBurner. This will allow you to burn OTLPE.ISO to a bootable CD. Here are ISO Burner Instructions

Download OTLPE.iso and burn to a CD using ISO Burner Or your own burning application). NOTE: This file is 270Mb in size so it may take some time to download.
Once the download is complete, double-click on it. This will open ISOBurner to burn the file to CD.
Reboot your affected system using the boot CD you just created.

Note : If you do not know how to set your computer to boot from CD follow the steps here

Your system should now display a REATOGO-X-PE desktop.
At this step, you should be able to save any data files to an external USB drive. Do so now, then continue.
Double-click on the OTLPE icon.
When asked "Do you wish to load the remote registry", select Yes

How do you set Windows XP(do not have SP3) to automatically log off a user after a set amount of idle time has passed.

I have checked the Local Security Settings and the 'Microsoft Network Server: Amount of idle time required before suspending session' setting is set to 15 minutes, but the user does not get logged out in 15 minutes. What's wrong?

My computer (Windows XP) was recently infected with antivirus soft. I used malwarebytes anti malware to remove the infection, and also did a full scan with Microsoft Security Essentials, which is what is running on this computer for an anti-virus program. It seemed to okay at first, but now there are popups about surveys and whatnot showing up. Also, Microsoft Security essentials wasn't able to update itself, saying that it couldn't connect to the internet, even though I was connected. Plus, not sure if it is related, but the internet will stop working about every thirty minutes, even though another computer on the same network was still connecting just fine. AND, Google Chrome has not worked since the infection, even after uninstalling and reinstalling it. So anyway, here's the hijackthis log, thank you:

I have recently installed XP home edition to my PC. AMD 1600, 256 Ram, and 40gb hard drive.

Initially I had a generic internal 56k modem installed however XP didn't get on very well with it. Which caused the modem to connect very rarely (usually needed 10-15 attempts before a connection could be established) and when it did at only 26kps.

So I decided to purchase a new soft 56k-usb modem, V92 and XP compliant (apparently!). When installing the modem XP brings up the not digitally tested message. I continued anyway and the modem installed OK. This was exactly what the installation instruction told me to do. Once installed it continued to work without problems until last week. Now when XP loads it gets to the welcome screen ok, but as soon as I click on my user ID it either restarts the PC or causes it to do a physical memory dump.

I have performed a XP repair, and ever since then when I install the Modem it works fine, but next time I log on as soon as I try to connect to the internet the system resets.

Should I bin my new modem and get a one that is approved by Microsoft? Or is there a patch/fix out there that will prevent my PC disagreeing with the modem.

any ideas email at [email protected]
thanks

So a few days ago, I discovered AntiSpyware Soft had embedded itself in my computer, resulting in warnings by a fake anti-virus program and my computer running very very slowly. After using StopZilla, as recommended by several sources online, the trojan seemed to be removed and was not detected by StopZilla or SpyWare Doctor, a scanner that was also recommended. Alas, tonight the fake anti-virus popped up again and my computer is back to running at a snail's pace.

Any help would be truly appreciated. Thank you so much.

As you probably know, it produces false claims that there are problems with your pc and therefore try trick you into buying it. I have already tried to get rid with the use of Hijackthis.exe which helps identify infected files and although the Antispyware Soft does not come up anymore im unsure if it has been fully removed.

Not a big issue but....

HP Vectra VLi8 running Win2K Pro. After shut down sequence displays "it's not safe to shut down...."

How can I configure it to autoshut? Went into BIOS to look for APM options but none found.

In Power Management section of Control Panel no appropriate option in evidence.

What gives?

A:Soft Powerdown

I went to HP and did a dozen or more searches without getting a really good hit. However, one of the articles I saw reminded me that if your machine wants to play a sound when Windows shuts down, and the sound file itself is bad, you will get a failure like this. You can go into ControlPanel>Sounds and change the sound for Windows Exit to "none". See if that makes a difference.

My pc is infected by a malware from a company called Antispyware Soft, Inc. That is taking over my computer until I activate their software. Is there anything I can do to get rid of this thing?

A:Antispyware Soft, Inc.

Hello,There is a removal guide for that infection here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-remo...-antivirus-soft If you still experience issues once you have completed the guide, then please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at Step 6.Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.Orange Blossom

Somehow Antivirus Soft got on my computer.. i ran my computer in safe mode and followed step by step instructions i found on the internet. This didn't cure my problem. I ran Spybot Search & Destroy and this didn't help either. I can't get on the internet unless i'm in safe mode because internet explorer keeps saying it is not connected. but i know it is working because it works in safe mode.

virus keeps bringing me to sites like viagra.com & adult.com

i also ge this message:
"Application cannot be executed. The file wuauclt.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?"

i click no because i know its fake.

i have windows xp professional
