Asus PCE-N13 giving problems

Q: Asus PCE-N13 giving problems

Lately my wireless card has been giving me fits. Random disconnects, difficult to re-connect etc. Today it just gave up. I had a second card (exactly the same) that I swapped out, but the problems persist. ASUS support was non-existent. I managed to get as far as "limited connectivity" with the current set up (my desktop computer.
Below are the TSG SysInfo and also the CMD IPConfig logs
I hope you can help, I'm stumped
Thanks

Preferred Solution: Asus PCE-N13 giving problems

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I've been trying to put together a new system and have run into a host of problems. The next in the queue is my new Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe MB keeps giving me the "System failed due to CPU over-clocking" error. Problem is that I'm not OC'ing! I'm running all new components. The CPU is a XP 3000+ w Barton core 400FSB.

The only thing I can think of is the RAM. Do I have to use 400MHz RAM with this MB/CPU configuration? I'm running 333MHz RAM and have tried to tone down the CPU but alas...it still does the same thing. Resetting the CMOS gives me a POST or 2 before gagging.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Can someone set me straight? I have been running my system for a bit over a year without incident.

Present System:
MB: ASUS Strike Extreme
CPU: Core 2 QUAD core Q6600
Memory: (2GB Total) Crucial BL12864AA804.16FD5 (1GB) 4-4-4
Graphics Card: EVGA 8800 GTS 512MB
Plenty of clean power 1000W & Liquid Cooled CPU
OS: Vista 64 Bit

System started to get flakey boot ups sometimes requiring multiple restarts. Check power supplies with tester all voltages we OK. Now it won’t boot, no keyboard, no monitors, no posts. Narrowed it down to what seemed to be a Northbridge problem not initializing the RAM. Was given an RMA from ASUS for a MB repair. Upon receiving and rebuild the system the same problem still exists. The POSTER LCD is messed up so I cannot read the error messages but still believe it to be a MB issue.

I am considering buying a new MB (frustrated with ASUS and leery of the nVidia Chipset)

Looking at the Intel DP45SG MB with the Intel P45 Chipset

Questions
1) After reading the manual note that it says that if your graphics card can pull more than 75 Watts the 12V connector should be used. Since the EVGA claims to require 12VDC @26 amps minimum or 312 Watts I am obviously over that limit however the 8800 GTS has an independent power connector that plugs directly into the card. Should I still be power the MB 4 pin 12V connector?
2) Since this is a DDR3 1.5V SDRAM MB I was going to by new memory also. Of course the only verified 2GB 1066MHz 7-7-7 memory is Micron MT16J... Read more

I recently noticed that the system was trying to do 7 updates every day at closedown, and found that update was giving a return code of 800736b3.

I have run SURT several times, and it doesn't seem to give any results (or should I be looking somewhere else?).

I ran sfc /scannow and extracted the results and they are in sfcdetails.txt (attached). SFC said there were some files it couldn't fix, even though sfcdetails.txt says it has fixed all of them.

CBS.zip is much too big to upload using the paperclip - is there another way?

I tried restoring to an earlier restore point, and unfortunately all the attempted updates have flushed my list of restore points - and the oldest few all give me a return code of x00000022.

Not sure if this is one problem or two...! I am reluctant to do a System Recovery as it sounds pretty drastic - help would be much appreciated!

PS Is any more info required?

It's not critical, but you could get rid of it by uninstalling KB3022345 and/or KB3068708 and hiding the latter when it reappers in your offered updates list.

I recently installed a plug and play Ethernet adapter into my pc which is Win7. I am trying to LAN with a windows XP pc (which previously worked with my onboard adapter).

When I view the status of the Local area connection, it shows that there are packets being sent and received to and from both pcs. But I CANNOT see the win XP pc in my network as I am not on the existing network with it?

Hi, i have some problem with my IE 7 recently.
When i surf some sites, mostly hotmail. I always get the message "object moved here". So when i click on a page, it will direct me to a page that writes "object moved here" and then i'll need to click on the word "here" before i can access my page.

Recently, i cant seem to see all the images and yes, i can't see all the smilies and icons on the post thread now, which is wierd and i get this message when i'm surfing the net at times:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address

which i find it wierd because my messenger is still able to connect and my brother's computer which uses the same connection is also able to connect but my internet just doesn't seem to be able display the webpage.

hope to hear from you soon.

A:IE 7 giving problems

Hi bearbear,

please try running IE7 without addons to see if the same happens:

- Click Start -> Run -> type:
iexplore -extoff
- Click OK
- Test with a few sites to see it the same problem occurs...please bear in mind that when you run IE with no addons, some website will cease to work as normal if they depend on certain addons. Ignore any new problems, just try to concentrate on the original issue and post back your findings please.

If that doesn't give any results, it may be an idea to temporary disable your firewall for a little bit and run IE in its normal mode. Some firewalls include features which affect how webpages load and are displayed so it could be a configuration problem. Remember to re-enable your firewall when you have finished testing.

Have you previously upgraded from IE6 to version 7? If yes, did these problem used to happen previously?

My other comp was working fine, but there was a spark in the power supply but it was still working for awhile, except I'd have to fight with it to get it to turn on. So I bought a new power supply, much stronger than what it was before, changed all the memory as well.
NOW... it turns on, but the HDD doesn't spin or anything, and when it finishes loading past the bios and all that, all it shows is a black screen that says "boot error, please insert system disk and retry" and when I install my winXP cd, it loads enuff to get to the screen where i can choose to repair or install anew, and when i choose either it says that windows cannot detect a HDD.

What could the problem be ?

A:Second comp is giving me problems too, help !

Hard drive

your hard drive is probably ruined. You could make a reformat disk and see if you can reformat the hard drive to get it to work. But it probably was damaged by the spark. The reformat disk can be found somewhere on the internet.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below. Also if you have any programs that may prevent system changes (like Spybot's TeaTimer program, Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, and others), make sure you disable them before doing any of the fixes (or accept the changes for the fix we give you when asked by the programs).

Go to My Computer->Tools (or View)->Folder Options->View tab:
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders (it's Show all files for Windows 98).
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm and then click OK.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan

Click on the "Free To Use ActiveScan" located on the top right hand corner Click Check Now and a "pop up" window will appear. * Please ensure that your pop up blocker doesn't block it *

Hello! It's been a while since I have been on here (which is a good thing, right?). But I recently upgraded my operating system to Windows 10. Since then, I have been having some issues. I will not get into all of them for now, when I had no issues with Photobucket before, I am now.

When I go there, I do not remember how to delete an individual picture or all of them or how to create an album. Photobucket is important to me because many websites (maybe even this one) may require a URL instead of browsing and uploading a JPEG to this site this may be very important to show you what I see on my screen.

Let me give you a URL here from photobucket because I want to delete all these pics from a car that we sold.

Thanks in advance!

http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af351/linsjean/IMG_1156.jpg

Anyone able to view this?

Any suggestions?

I was also having Avast going crazy on me so I un-installed and re-installed Firefox, so we'll see if my internet problems go away and all other issues after I upgraded 3 days ago.

Thanks again!

Editing because I think I posted this in the wrong forum. Note to Mod, you may move this to the appropriate category. I think Internet problems?

There are only two options for Picasa to scan for pictures - My Documents or the entire drive. Is there no way to select a specific partition where the pictures of interest are?2. Every attempt at uploading 4 pictures has failed so far, like this:I select the pictures, they end up at the bottom, I click Share, hourglass appears for a very long time, there is no activity in the router, eventually a message window comes up saying that the upload failed, shows a blue link for error, which says 'post URL not found'. Bottom line: upload fails, so obviously the URL link can't exist.I signed out from Google Account (in the upper right corner) and tried to sign back in, as this is what Help suggests, but I get a blank window to Login, which subsequently says that I'm not connected to the internet which is not correct. TCPview clearly shows and established connection all along. Hmm, maybe it is correct once I logged out.I tried every possible way to Upload, Bulk upload, Share, even Sync, whatever I could find - all with identical results.I'm ready to ditch it and try to find something that allows me to easily drag'n drop out of any directory I please, without all that local scanning, and that allows easy viewing for others to whom I send a link. But I thought I'd ask here first. A:i need help with a game that is giving me problems

If it'll run in W2K it should run in XP.

Have you tried using the Program Compatibility Wizard and running it in W2K mode?

If that doesn't work, then it may be a problem with the install of the game. Have you checked the properties of the shortcut to make sure that it actually points at the game's executable file?

Since reformatting my hard drive, I have been unable to get Diskeeper Lite to run once I restart my PC. I have tried removing remnants of it's previous installation but to no avail. (In case you're interested, this is the error message I get when I try to open it:
"Unable to connect to the Diskeeper service in the selected machine. Connecting to the local Diskeeper service.")

No one appears to know how to resolve this problem, so I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to have to use another defrag program. Does anyone have a suggestions for a free defrag program I can use please?

Help!!

I noticed a few days ago that my computer, which is 2.6 ghz with 1 GB ram and runs windows XP, was running incredibly slowly. I ran all the virus scans I could get my hands on. Some worm or other was killed, and one of the scans detected a virus called "java-bytever.a". So, I did a search for the files infected with that virus and manually deleted them (since none of my other AV programs were detecting them). But my computer is still very slow, and what's worse, now when my Norton Antivirus runs its bi-daily scan, instead of scanning the usual 100,000 or so files, it's now scanning 2.5 million files!! And the number of files is getting higher.

According to NAV, I have a folder called "recycler" that I can't find on my computer, even with a search. Also, most of these extra hundreds of thousands of files are in:

c:\program files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin

I can't access this folder even through command.com, because I keep getting a "cyclic redundancy check" error message. I can't uninstall Java because when I go into add/remove programs and select Java, it says it's "gathering info" for about 30 minutes, when it times out! And when I try to simply delete the whole folder, I get a prompt telling me that my c: drive isn't formatted and would I like to format it now!!??

I'm at my wit's end! I've tried Norton, Panda, Trent, and Bitprotector, and none of them are detecting any problems.... Read more

My problems is that when i type a website in the address bar of IE (www.google.com for example) i get an error message saying:

Cannot find 'www.google.com'. Make sure the path or Internet address is correct.

This happens with any site i type in.

so basically im stuck doing a search for a site on msn and clicking the link, or copy/paste the address from Mozilla.

Its not a big deal because i use Mozilla, but i would really like to get this fixed.

Any help is appreciated.

I occasionally get these blue lines going across the screen. The lines are all over the monitor, but there`s an especially irritating one that`s following my mouse pointer as I speak. It resembles the tail of Halley`s comet, and is a disturbance when trying to WORK on the computer.
Can anyone tell me what exactly is the problem? Is it my video card, is it the monitor itself, or is it, gulp, the motherboard?

A:Monitor giving me problems

Well, it's not the motherboard, unless your video card is built in.

Could be the monitor or the video card.

Only realy way to be sure is to try a different monitor, or try your monitor on another computer.

I have this really strange problem with my PC that keeps happening several times per week.

There are a handfull of my favorite sites, (GOOGLE, CBS SPORTSLINE, WEB-ATTACK and even TSG FORUMS) that when I try and go to them.... the status bar will flash a few times and then I get the page with cannot find server where they say there may be problems with the site.

When this happens.... I cannot access these sites even manually by typing in the addy..... It's ONLY these four sites that do this. This happens several times per week.

Usually, I can fix this by going into CP/add-remove programs/ and choosing the option to REPAIR IE 6. Sometimes I have to repeat the process a few times, but it will fix the prob.

This is so damn annoying. These 4 sites just happen to be the ones I visit the most, so it's a real pain to me.

I regularly clean out my temporary internet files, history etc.... and have all the spyware controllers like AD-AWARE, SPYBOT, etc... etc... and use them on a regular basis.

I have even had a laptop running along with my desktop and all 4 sites load just fine..... so there is no trouble with the sites.

Any educated guesses as to what may be happening here? Why only these 4 sites, and why can I fix it most of the time by repairing IE6? And... most importantly, how can I fix it PERMANENTLY? because it's driving me nuts to have to fix it all the time.

Thanks in advance

I am beyond the veil of anger with this. I believe something is wrong with my DirectX 11 on Windows 8.1, and I don't know how to fix it. I would go to play certain games, and it would pop up an error message saying "Cannot Set Display Mode" or something similar to that. I get the feeling it's DirectX, as I had recently updated it, but did nothing to interfere. I have spent the last week (literally) trying to fix this, and everything has failed. I understand that DirectX 11 comes with Windows 8 and everything, but when Windows doesn't even realize that it's malfunctioning (DXDiag did not work, nor did the thousands of Runtime Installers I tried), something is definitely wrong. I would appreciate any help at this point. Thanks in advance.

A:DirectX is giving me problems.

Recheck/reinstall or update drivers, a lot of interaction between drivers and DirectX goes in there. Some older games do not like or recognize new DirectX. Try to run them in compatibility mode.

Unless you regularly go to a website that uses Java, I suggest you follow the directions at this link and uninstall it. There have been security issues recently with Java and it is rarely used by most websites. There may be a few games that use it but most users don't need Java and it seems to be a nuisance.

Ive had this camera for like 2-3 years now. Only on this computer (XP), when I install it, a little icon by the time pops up and asks me if I want to install the program using the Add/Remove Feature. I always click no, since I just installed it using the CD.

Then I would go into my computer, and there would be 2 Kodak icons. I dont know why... but I would click one and it wouldnt work. Then I would click the other and it would always work. Well today I need to get some pictures uploaded asap and I open up My Computer and there was only 1 Kodak icon. I clicked it and of course, it said the camera wasn't plugged in-- when it was.

I cant reinstall it since I dont have the disc. What are my other choices? Is there something else I could download that would read the USB port and let me open up my pictures?

Please Help-- I appreciate it.

OK, my pc is crashing a couple of times a day at this point. It runs fine all day while I'm working. As soon as it sits idle for a little while it's crashing. Not always, but it seems like it's pretty regular as far as being idle. It's completely locked up every morning when I wake up that's for sure. My event log shows tons of these sbp2port entries. Every couple of seconds for as long as it takes to lock up. I've done research on the error and it seems everyone is having trouble figuring out an answer. I've adjusted my paging file settings already. I've checked the file integrity with my xp install disk. Other than that I don't know where to look.

I read somewhere that malware can disguise themselves as this type of file, but I don't know if that's what I'm dealing with. I DO know that I got the virtumonde adware recently and got rid of it successfully..... I think. I don't know if this is still some remnants from that issue.

I recently downlaoded Kazaa Lite K++ 2.4.1 . I had previously been using Kazaa Lite 1.7 (or thereabouts). I have a DSL modem.

With v 1.7, I could download files fairly quickly at resonable speeds (ie. at least 2.5 kb/s). With version 2.4.1 all of my downloads are at speeds WAY below 1 kb/s and take FOREVER to get. I'm downloading some of the same files as before, so there really shouldn't be a difference. Where could the problem be?

I have a HP pc running Windows XP with service pack 2. SP3 was just downloaded this morning, and it was an automatic update. When I tried internet access I got timed out. I normally run Firefox, but I tried Internet Explorer as well, with the same problem. I rebooted and I got access for a brief time, but when I tried to go to another site I got timed out. So, I did a restore and it runs fine now without SP3.

A lot of folks have had problems with the Automatic Update to sp3.

In order for sp3 to install correctly and everything work fine, I had to download the stand alone package and install it offline:

I recently enrolled in online classes for Everest University. I ran the browser test and this is what came up...

Welcome to the browser test!

It is our goal to make your online learning experience the best it can be. One way we can achieve this goal is to ensure that certain essential tools are available when you access your online courses. This test will review the components of your Internet browser, and will provide any necessary instructions for making the most of your browser's functionality and your online experience.
As you take the browser test, please keep in mind that this campus is optimized to work in a Microsoft Windows© environment. What does that mean? It means that our courses work best if you are using a Windows operating system (XP or newer) and a recent version of Microsoft Internet Explorer (6.0 or 7.0).
In addition to supporting the Windows operating system, we also support the Macintosh operating system and Safari browser. Your courses will work in Macintosh OS X along with a recent version of Safari 2.0 or better.
Along with Internet Explorer and Safari, we also support the Firefox browser (2.0) on both Windows and Mac operating systems.

Hey I just installed a new 512 mb stick of Kingston DDR400 184 pin RAM onto my computer, I already had a 512 one. Ever since I installed the RAM my computer has had some random reboots. I tried installing registry mechanic and system mechanic 5 and whenever I do a scan halfway through the scan the computer reboots itself. I am using windows xp professional. I scanned for viruses adware and spyware and I came up with nothing, which makes me think it is a registry problem.

Hi,
I am using a Acer laptop with
Windows 7 and recently a weird issue has cropped up. My computer's IP address
has given me a problematic internet connection. While using the "command
prompt" from "Run" option of the start menu, it says that the IP address is
invalid.

As far as my knowledge goes, a computer's IP Address can be found out
with this option. Can somebody give me an effective solution?
