HP Dv7 bottom case corner broken- Needs repair

Q: HP Dv7 bottom case corner broken- Needs repair

Hi!My HP Pavilion dv7-7135us left corner, hinge area, bottom case has broken off and a small lesion has spread.Small plastic chunk missing.Everything still works fine, the left hinge, even though sunken, still operates, while seperating the case as it moves.I am looking for HP to replace the bottom case before the damage becomes greater. Is this possible? Can I have HP repair this by shipping it to them?I never carried the computer with me and basically used it as a desktop, was damaged by just opening and closing it.Now, I leave it open.I have seen repair on youtube, but I am no computer technician.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have had this for the last few monthes and I have ignored it, but now I'm a little anxious about identity theft so I would rather be safe then sorry. Any help is appreciated. Basically, I have pop up in the right hand and left hand corners. Some recommending stuff, and some pertaining to whatever website I happen to be looking at. Now I'm getting a random white box that comes up occasionally and does not have an X to close. Help me please, thanks.

Hi,

When I am on a browser, both IE9 and Chrome, I am often redirected when I click on a link within a website. Previously when i got redirected, I got a pesky fake antivirus virus that I removed. it happened twice, but hasn't since. Also I almost always have a ad, or even two pop up in the bottom right corner. They are either in the shape of an iPhone, or a small white box. these two when I click the 'x' to close them a even smaller white box saying 'Recommended For You' remains. These ads have been in both French and English. Other ads include games, nudity and others.

Today I scanned my computer with AVG (full computer scan) and it found 2 Trojan Horses and 7 viruses that it moved to the virus vault. It also Found 26 tracking cookies that it either moved to the virus vault or healed. I restarted my computer and it did not fix the ads or redirection.

Please Help!

Thank you very much in advance,

James(steezydolphin)

Hello.

It started two days ago this problem of mine. I keep receiving pop ups on my browsers in the bottom right corner of my screen and I'm convinced it's a virus or something since I have
some ad protection and the ads are always about the current page I'm on.

I've downloaded about three different virus scanner and I still have the problem.

Some help would be fantastic, thanks in advance.

Recently, I've been having more and more trouble with redirects when trying to browse the internet. Usually, these consist of redirecting to a site along the lines of 'click.getanswersfast' (or something like that). When this happens, I just go back and reload the webpage which does the trick for that moment. Coupled with that, I don't know if it's related, ads often appear in the bottom right-hand corner of the browser. Most of these I can close out of, however some of them I can't and it's becoming quite annoying. Thanks in advance for the help!

P.S. I use Windows 7 and Google Chrome

Hi

A couple of weeks ago approximately I started getting an ad pop up in the bottom right corner of my desktop. It's not clickable, it doesn't direct anywhere, it just stays a few seconds then disappears. I couldn't pinpoint exactly when it started or what software or event it might have come with.

I ran Kaspersky Pure full scan but it found nothing, I also ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware full scan and it detected nothing. Then I ran Kaspersky's TDSSKiller and it only detected "Akamai" as being suspicious.

I run windows7 ultimate 64bit.

If someone could advise me and possibly help me determine if my machine if infected or not I'd be very grateful.

Thanks

Hey there good people of bleepingcomputer,

I seem to have contracted an annoying advertising pop up when I went over to England for a few months. I think it may have been prepackaged with the software on the internet dongle I was given to access the net. I was wondering if anyone else has ran into this one before and if they know how to get rid of it.
I ran a deep scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, but it still persists. Often times I will click on a link and I will get redirected to some weird shopping site that must be in cahoots with this malware, and I have to hit back a couple times to get back to where I started.

Also, I want to thank bleepingcomputer for giving me instructions on how to get rid of the Metropolitan e-police trojan, which I also contracted while in England. Sheesh!

Attached is a screenshot from firefox of the pop up in the bottom right corner, there is even one now as I type this on bleepingcomputer's forums. I added the red text and red arrow.

Thanks for your help!

Hi all, yesterday right above where the time is on my desk top is a partial page like what you get when you try to open an internet page and you get the message "This program cannot be displayed" when a page on the internet is not opening properly. I then did a system restore to a couple days previously. When windows started to come back up it said one of my disks needed scanning and I let it scan. Then when windows came back I had a message that the restore could not be done properly. The problem was still there so I decided to undo the restore. This time I had a message that my hard disk had a problem and windows was attempting to repair. It finally restarted and everything seemed to be ok + the partial page was gone.I put my computer to sleep last night and this morning everything seemed ok. Then my Avira Free antivirus popped up asking if I would vote on the new upgrade or something and i clicked yes. Then the partial page was there again after that. Thinking back that is exactly what happened yesterday. I just ran Malwarebytes and it reported everything ok.I just finished a scan with Avira and I have attached the log. It said no virus but 1 hidden object found.I haven't restarted yet because I wanted to post this first in case i have a problem restarting.I would appreciate any help please.

A:Desktop has "This program cannot be displayed" in right bottom corner

Press Windows+R key and typenotepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hostsand click okPost the contents here. Then the partial page was there again after that.I guess the pop up is due to AVIRAHidden driver detected by avira should be a false positive.

Hello everyone,

I just got myself a new Samsung S24B350HL 24" LED wide screen monitor.

On a black background, I can notice the bottom right corner of the screen has a bright spot. I've tried a lot of different settings, but nothing will get rid of it. I've also tried adjusting the picture with my Nvidia software. No change.

I know this is a known issue on LED and LCD monitors, but other than taking it back to the store, is there anything I can do? Is there a good chance other monitors will do the same?

Thank you

Well, I too am having the exact same problem and I too am using Win7 64 bit. All of my browsers give me the same results. The one thing I can add is that I have run rkill in advance of running the likes of Spybot S&D, Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware. Nothing I've been able to do seems to identify, detain and eradicate this seriously pesky and annoying fiend.

Would someone please walk me through the process of getting rid of this malware and maybe enlighten me on where is came from and how I managed to become infected. Surely this is a problem experience by many others; I'd like to be able to be of assistance should I be asked to help a friend or relative should they end up with the same problem.

As Mr. Coopers1234 said, Thanks in advance.

Good morning,

Lately I've been having two issues that I believe are connected that have me worried about my computer. I've tried running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, but to no avail. I see some other topics about similar issues on the forums, but I wanted to get direct advice here.

The larger issue that I have is that I constantly get advertisements that pop up in the bottom right corner (and sometimes bottom left corner) of my browser that typically say "Recommended for you" or look like an iPhone. These don't appears on all websites, but it does appear on most. I'm using Firefox, but I've checked and can confirm that this appears in the bottom corner of the screen in IE as well as occasionally Steam and the Blizzard launchers for various games now.

The second which seems related is a click redirect. When I click on any link on a website, there is always a chance that I get a screen that says "Hold on while we redirect you" and am taken somewhere completely different. This happens randomly, and several times the link ends up just showing an IP, which is a clear sign that something is wrong. The reason I more think these two are related, is now whenever I click "Play" on the World of Warcraft launcher, it opens up a window in Firefox as a redirect that is just a page which one of the "Recommended for you" links I mentioned in the inital problem.

Please let me know whatever steps you would like me to take to ... Read more

Greetings and Welcome to The Forums!!My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your malware problems.I have put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier and faster for both of usPlease do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.

Dear BleepingComputer,I've been having this problem since last weekend. I've been on this same Dell laptop for about 2 years and haven't had any problems until now. I don't know the name of this so I won't assume but from my "layman" eyes, it looks like periodic, brief, "flashing", small pop-up boxes in the lower righthand portion of my screen above the systray and sometimes in the upper righthand corner at the same time. Twice a larger, I would say "regular", pop-up window appeared and both times it was an ad for "The University of Liverpool" and the URL was "www.adtegrity.com". I've run through all of the steps as advised in the preparatory stage and I'm still getting these pop-ups. I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop, Windows XP, 2GB of RAM, and am using Internet Explorer 7.0 I believe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
