I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi all

As one of my friends have just purchased a P40 Yoga, I am able to use her set to provide sound enhancement tweaks for P40. The tweaks is also optimal for Yoga 460 and Yoga 14 as it shares the same sound card and speakers as P40 Yoga. The tweaks would not be optimal for other laptops, external audio device due to variation of frequency response.
To tweak the sound:1. Go to Start > All Apps (All Programs) > Dolby > Dolby Audio

2. Click Personalize

3. There are only one type of preset provided for the internal speaker loudness as the P40 Yoga / Yoga 460 / Yoga 14 as the sound card does not have enough power to drive more bass and quality will decrease if all the EQ band is set to max.Optimal:?
You could (Preference)- Enable Dialogue Enhancer if you want more boost on the treble, but may sound sharp on some songs.- Enable Volume Leveler if you prefer more neutral sound signature, stronger mid, but overall volume drops a bit.I hope this benefits any P40 Yoga, Yoga 14 or Yoga 460 user who wish to have optimal sound experience from their internal speakers! Enjoy!

Hi allRecently, I got a Yoga 900 and I would like to share the maximum potential of it's speaker. After testing, I would say Yoga 900 is one of the ultrabook with the best possible speakers and the new Dolby software really brings it up to another level.Furthermore, this new Dolby software is easier to use compared to the older version. The only disadvantage of the new Dolby Audio software is that it only allows 1 customized EQ (Personalize).

You may have to retweak the EQ or disable Dolby Audio if you connect to an external headphone or speaker, as the Personalize settings I provided may not be optimal for your external audio devices. This time round, I provide 3 builds, you may try to adjust and see which fits your preference. You may try to ON the Surround Virtualizer for Movie and Games. You may also try to ON the Volume Leveler if you prefer the sound to be more flat and less loud.Loudness Build:Balanced Build:

Max Build (For Bass + Loudness)

Hope you all benefit from this Sound Enhancement Thread! Happy New Year all!

Hi all,Recently, one of my friends bought a ThinkPad L380 laptop. I would say the internal speaker has improved. The bass goes deeper and treble is more extended compared to the older model
To tweak the sound:1. Right-click the photo below, save as Desktop. You may try both to see which EQ you prefer.

2. Go to Start > All Apps (All Programs) > Dolby > Dolby Audio.

3. Drag it onto the Dolby Atmos application.Do take note that if you were to connect your external speaker/headphone to the headphone jack, change the EQ to others, or off. As this EQ preset is only optimized for L380, L380 Yoga, S2 and S2 Yoga Speakers, not optimized for your external speaker/headphone.Hope you enjoy this tweaks!

Hi all,Recently, I have managed to helped a friend to service his IdeaPad Y450 notebook, and perform sound tuning as well.To tweak the soundA. Extending the internal speakers dynamic range.1. Go to Control Panel > Sound.2. Select Speakers, and click Configure.3. Under Choose your configuration, and click Next.
4. Under Select full-range speakers, check Front left and right > and click Next.
5. Click Finish.B. Improve the sound signature and loudness using Realtek Sound Effect - Equalizer1. Go to Control Panel > Realtek HD Audio Manager. 2. Under the Speakers tab > Click on the Equalizer sub-tab.3. Adjust the 10-band EQ according to the picture below, then click Save.Optional. If you wish to have virtual surround effect, you may change the Environment from <None> to Generic.C. Dolby Home Theater to boost bass1. Go to Start > All Programs > Dolby > Dolby Control Center > Dolby Control Center2. Check Natural Bass. For the bass boost level, there are 7 levels. Ranging from 1 being the extreme left, to 7  being the extreme right.I would recommend the Bass boost between Level 1 to 3. Any higher would result in softer sound with muddy bass.
You may give a try on the Sound Space Expander. The sound becomes more diffuse, but less clear and loud. Therefore, I uncheck it. If you want to have virtual surround effect, refer to B - Optional part above.
Hope you enjoy this tweaks!

Hello all, Got my X1Y3 in a few days ago and I'm very pleased with the screen on the machine as well as battery life and easy type c charging compared to my old X1Y1. However, I have noticed one thing, the audio options (sample rate and bit depth) are about as basic as can be on the X1Y3 compared to my X1Y1. Anyone else notice this or do I perhaps have something limited by my audio settings? I tried looking up the spec sheet for this machine and see nothing mentioned, but looking under sound options in the control panel the max I can do is 24bit/48Khz, the only other option is 16bit/48Khz. Recording only has a signle option of 16bit/48Khz. If this is by design, I'm really disappointed in taking the hit to adio quality from one generation to the next.  For example, my original X1Y1 can do 24bit/192Khz at the maximum for playback and 24bit/96Khz for recording. Software is fully up to date through vantage, and I just installed the october update (much to my reluctance since I had to hit the update button to do it and risk the wrath of the microsoft insider program).  Thr PSREF spec sheets on lenovos website for the Y1Y3 list the chich as Realtek ALC3286, but no specs for bit depth or sampling rate for the machine. Additionally, I can't find any information on this chip online besides sellers inadvertently listing it in thier specs for X1Y3s for sale. It sounds like I might be resigned to carrying around a highres dac or end up praying for LDAC ... I've started this topic so people can post info on their Yoga's battery status and health. This will allow others to compare this pooled information and offer advice and tips. This thread is for listing your battery info and disscussing battery strategies only. Please list your information in the following format -  Model of laptop -Screen size and type -Did you get it new (Y/n) -How long have you had it -Listed design capacity of battery -Current full charge capacity -How long does it last on a full charge test -  How do you generaly use your laptop -  Note: if you aren't using the Lenovo software to view battery health you can still run a report in Windows 10 to gather this info. To do so, open an admin command prompt or Powershell and run the following command - powercfg /batteryreport. Next browse to the folder and open the report. For the full charge test charge it all the way up and turn off any screen power management, sleep and hibernate, make low and reserve power management do nothing, set critical power management to 1% and  set the action to hibernate. Also set your screen saver to 1 min and turn on the 'mystify' screen saver (so it will use a little GPU).For the 'how do you generally use your laptop,' please list out what your general usage entails (just light browsing or intensive video editing) and also your charge strategy.

Recently I was a little baffeled that my full charge capacity was listed at only 37 Wh. I decided to go through two full charge tests, which increased the listed full charge capacity to 45.16 Wh but that still seems low for a laptop that is only 1 year old (bought mid-March last year). Sadly, I did not record the full charge capacity right out of the box. I did however learn that the full charge capacity listed is NOT set in stone and can be increased and decreased. The full charge test had my laptop running over 6 hours though, which is okay for my use.

Just upgraded the Window on a Yoga 3 pro and everything seems to be working fine.
The entire process starting from downloading windows to the final install took about 3.5 hours. The Windows download is about 6GB for the 64bit version.

I had to apply all previous Win 8.1 updates and then start the download using the 64 bit tool in this link -
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

1) Did not need to update any drivers. Wifi and sound are working fine.
2) I have disabled harmony so cannot really comment on Transition but observed that the transition is being recognized only between laptop and Tablet mode. (Images included)
3) In Tablet mode, the trackpad did not get disabled. (Dont remember how it was in Win 8.1 but I think it used to be disabled)

I will update more observations tomorrow however below are a few screenshots of the final stage of installation and Windows 10 -

A:Yoga 3 pro Win 10 Upgrade Observation Thread

Thanks!!! I would guess the transition issues are a Lenovo driver thing? Possibly upgrading /installing the dependencies package will resolve it? I do use tent mode occasionally and more importantly, if the touchpad is not disabled in all but laptop mode? I'll hold off on the upgrade till that's resolved. I use 10 on another non touch machine and most of the issues I have with 8.1 are corrected with classic shell, so I don't view 10 as a necessity right now. What I hope will happen with 10 becoming the dominant OS is a drastic improvement in apps. The lack of and general poor quality of apps makes win a no go as a tablet OS for me.

Lenovo announced the X1 Yoga 4th gen at CES this January, so let's start a thread discussing the brand new version!  ThinkPad X1 YOGA The biggest change is that it no longer has a carbon fiber body with matte black coating. Instead Lenovo changed the X1 Yoga to use milled aluminum with a dark gray finish. It still looks great though. Available June 2019, starting price $1930.  Comparison with the 2018 3rd gen model: Improved- smaller side bezels, 17% smaller footprint- aluminum casing, which should eliminate issues related to paint flaking issues- the fan appears to have its main vent on the side, better for lap use- Lenovo now supports a Windows Hello IR camera AND the thinkshutter- there's a new combo docking port that has an embedded TB3 port- reported to have better speakers (Dolby ATMOS)- now up to 2TB SSD installed Unchanged- the screen aspect ratio is still 16:9 with large lower bezel- no OLED option- no discrete graphics option - weight still ~3 lbs (reports range from 2.98-3.09lbs)- still no volume rocker (needed in tablet use)- it still can't be opened one-handed (see hands-on video at 0m50s) Worse (personal opinion)- the keys no longer retract (and lock?) in tablet mode- seemingly no SD or microSD card reader Preliminary posted specs:

Like stated in the description. the Lenovo Yoga Control Service require 3% out of the CPU, all the time. and the only thing the service does is checking the orientation of the screen, and disable keyboard and mouse when flipped. This is absurd, especially since it drains battery constantly. I hope that this will be fixed eventually, until that time, I will turn the service off and use the computer like a regular laptop.

Does that mean even they will get the latest cpu (which some said there is not much different), they will have shorter battery life than the current Yoga C930 which has 60W battery? https://www.ultrabookreview.com/24380-2019-lenovo-thinkpads/https://www.ultrabookreview.com/24458-lenovo-yoga-c930-review/

I've recently (13th of April) bought new Yoga 530-14IKB. It has adequate CPU i3-8130U, which is faster than i5-6200U in my sister's Acer laptop, but I anyway don't play any games. Despite that, its battery life isn't good. It works about 3-3,5 hours in Chrome. In task manager I've noticed that Yoga Mode Control is constantly using 15-30% CPU and its battery usage is described as very high. After disabling it, I can't switch to the tablet mode and keyboard and touchpad don't turn off. Is there somebody who has Yoga laptop and experience similar problem?

I own a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga (1st gen as a Yoga; 4th gen as a Carbon), Product 20FQCTO1WW. Starting two days ago, it randomly reboots. The event log shows that it has had an unexpected reboot ("The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."), but reading the events leading up to the reboot doesn't give me much of a clue as to why. The only interesting events are messages that a core of the CPU is being throttled ("The speed of processor X in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report."). I took the bottom cover off and agressively blew compressed air in every crevice. This did remove some dust buildup, but the system wasn't as dirty as I expected. In fact, it looked pretty clean. I also vaccuumed. And I removed the fan and thermal heatsink and throughly blew compressed air through it and made sure that there was no gunk clogging the heatsink air fins. After reassembling, it seems to be slightly more stable, but it has still rebooted a few times. There are lots of threads where people complain about fan noise and ask how they can reduce the speed of their fan. I'd like to run mine at max 100% of the time (noise be darned) for a few days just to see if that keeps the system from randomly rebooting. However, I don't know of a sofware setting where I can control... Read more

I am a very frustrated and angry customer at the moment as i keep running into Road Block and unacceptable answers.  This issue is enough to cause me to never buy another Lenovo laptop or any laptop at Best Buy!I bought my computer in July and in September i noticed a key had popped off-  the "< ," key next to the M key.  I have used the key board only when i was setting up-  now at my office and at customers i set it in downward dog mode ;-) and use a blue tooth key board.    So it is not from use that it broke.   I took the laptop into BEST BUY and was told that the key was missing a metal part on the back so they could not fix it onsite-  i would have to send it in and be without my laptop for a week to 10 days - unacceptable -  this was a month or more ago. I searched on the LENOVO website and could not find a way to purchase a single or the entire set of Keys!  I am self employed as a software consultant.   My life is pretty busy and i finally decided today to bite the bullet and ask for a call from Lenovo support.  Again i am told the only way to fix this is to send my laptop in for a repair.  I asked to just be able to buy a KEY - i am told that well they do not sell individual keys - they would replace the entire keyboard!  So sell me the keyboard and or send me one an i will take into best buy to have them replace it while i wait.  They cannot do that.   I live... Hello All, I have an issue with my YOGA 700 laptop when logged in multiple accounts simultaneously. Whenever an account is left logged on and the user is switched as opposed to logging off, the cpu usage ramps up very high with several RUNDLL32 processes being the culprit. I have checked the RUNDLL32 processes with Process Explorer and the command line are as follows:C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\EnableAutoRotation.dll,RunCustomMonitor The directory is as follows: C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\ The only solution I have found is restarting the laptop. The problems comes back when again more than one user is logged in. Also, the rundll32 processes only run high cpu on one account at a time and there doesn't seem to be a preference for a specific account, all of them are plagued one at a time with the problem. Disabling the Yoga Mode Control service is a fix but that breaks the mode control which is essential in this laptop. I have tried installing all the available software on the Software page foor the YOGA 700. The rundll32 processes drain the battery very fast and I can't always log off other users when they have apps open!  I have posted a screenshot of process explorer showing 2 rundll32.exe processes using 25% cpu usage each. However, sometimes up to 4 rundll32.exe processes open up and they use combined 100% cpu usage, which makes the laptop run very hot and slow. In t... Read more

Hello Dws520Thanks for using the Lenovo forums. Was this the creators update?
If so, have a look on the following post, this should show if your device has been tested with the update yet:
https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/ht503655

From what I can see, your unit does not seems to have made the list, which leads me to believe that this will be the cause of the issue, I would recommend that you revert back to the previous version of Windows, and observe if the fault still occurs or not.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

Disclaimer: I received the Yoga 920 as a review loaner unit from Lenovo. All opinions are my own, nobody is paying for my review, and no one is reviewing this content before it's posted.

On the surface, both the Yoga 910 and Yoga 920 look nearly identical, but in my testing, I prefer one over the other. Let's dig deeper to see the differences between the two!To get this out of the way, both machines have 1TB PCIe storage, 16GB memory, and the Yoga 910 has the 7th gen i7-7550U processor, and the Yoga 920 has the 8th gen i7-8550U processor.

Hardware & Design
Both the Yoga 910 and Yoga 920 are built out of aluminum, which gives them a high quality feel to them.  Both laptops have the keyboard integrated into the chassis, which means less keyboard flex. One thing that I find better in the Yoga 920 is the fact that it's all smooth edges around.  The Yoga 910 has pretty sharp edges which means you could scratch your surface or yourself.  The sharp edges of the Yoga 910 was a common complaint, and I'm glad they rectified it.

The Yoga 920 also has a little slit on the display lid that makes it much easier to open the lap... Read more

Mainly i work on my laptop in normal mode, and sometimes, during such work, it can false trigger a tablet mode for a few (2-3) seconds (notification appers), which causes the keyboard to switch off for this time, despite the fact, that it still stands as a normal laptop, not even close to position, which triggers the yoga mode. How can i fix this? System is Windows 10 April 2018 Update, have all the latest drivers and latest version of BIOS.

I've been looking around and found a few people who are very displeased with the logo startup/boot logo (example1, example2), but no way to change it as of yet. Is it possible without too much hassle? I know it's not a big deal but the logo is simply terrible in so many ways. If nothing, then at least I'm raising awareness and maybe Lenovo will choose a better graphic designer for our collective startup screens. I mean, seriously? Is that the best you could come up with?

A:Yoga 720 Lenovo boot logo. Is there a way to change it? (should be the same for every new Yoga).

I do not know of any way to easily change it without hackging the BIOS, nor would I waste time trying to do so since it is just the boot logo, and I am just happy to have it boot up.

My brand new Yoga 720 is seriously bent (one corner is up by 3 mms). I have sent back immediately to offical Lenovo service. They sent it back with a report that it is fully operable. Since then, I have a wedge in my notebook case and all I have to do is put it under my notebook if I use it. Now I know which brand not to buy next time.

I accidentally deleted this software too when I cleaned up the system. I need the link to a free download, too.

Hello!I am trying to find out if DisplayPort is supported on the following two models: - Yoga 710-14IKB (80V4003LMX)- Yoga 900S-12ISK (80ML000RMX) I need to drive UHD TVs (4K at 60fps) and various high resolution displays using DisplayPort (HDMI 1.4 only supports 4K at low refresh rates).  It seems to be difficult find out looking through the documentation provided by Lenovo. I have come across some info though: Yoga 710-14IKB:The documentation on  http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/yoga/700-series/yoga-710-14/#80V4000GUS under "Ports" states that: "Micro HDMI?""DisplayPort? (combo with HDMI?)" This indeed seems to indicate that DisplayPort is supported, but I cannot find any info on how this works. - Is DisplayPort supported by the Yoga 710?- If so, what kind of adapter is needed, and where can this be found? Yoga 900S-12ISK:This machine has an USB-C "USB 3.0 port with Video-out". I have found a Lenovo USB-C to HDMI Adaptor-NA (GX90K37871):    https://www.cnet.com/products/lenovo-usb-c-to-hdmi-adapter-external-video-adapter/specs/but so far I have not seen any USB-C to DisplayPort adapter from Lenovo. When an USB-C port has video capabilities, it is usually DisplayPort available (I have seen reviews of Yoga 900S that this actually is the case for the Yoga 900S. - Is DisplayPort supported by the Yoga 900s?- If so, what kind of adapter is needed, and where can this be found?&n...  My Yoga began to intermittently lose audio playback about a month ago.  At first it would run for a while and then stop, but now there is no sound whatsoever.  I have uninstalled the Realtek drivers and then downloaded and re-installed them more times than I can count.  There is NO SOUND at all, and the first component listed on the Realtek list as it's finishing says that it was unable to install.  When I go to adjust audio playback, it's not even listed.  Dolby also says it's missing components.  This is very frustrating.

Hello everyone i would appreciate some assistance.  I have a red cross by the speaker on my Yoga 910. I have checked the drivers. Despite downloading the Lenovo sourced realtek drivers there is still a yellow triangle warning on the item under the sound and other devices in the device management area.   There is also an error that says audio devices are not connected.   I have opened the laptop in safe mode (same problem), rebooted it numerous times, updated the drivers (they are up to date) and now I am wondering if there is indeed a physical connection issue rather than software issue.  Incidently when i plug in headphones they dont work.  I have checked on various websites to try and fix the problem.  Can someone offer up any solution?  If you do reply, please explain in plain english as I am not a computer expert but would greatly appreciate your thoughts.

Yoga 920 purchased at Best Buy 12/2017 does not play sound. Realtek Audio appears to show mixer working and headphone jack works appropriately but there is no sound coming from speakers. Rolling back driver does not work. It has been this way for more than a month. Only fix seems to be to send to Lenovo, but multiple forum users have reported that even a rebuild does not fix problem. Is Yoga 920 a lemon? Please help - very frustrating to purchase $1700 PC that does not produce sound. Also, does not wake up from sleep. Thanks,JJ

The fans of my Yoga 720 are always running. When it shuts down, the fans go on max until it's done shutting down, then when it boots up, the fans go on max again. It calms down for the few seconds it takes me to open up Google Chrome. Then it goes on max again. It doesn't matter whether or not I'm running an intensive program or literally just having 1 tab open in Chome, the fans are always on.  I obviously expect it to be running at max speed when I'm playing games but not when there's 1 tab open in Google Chrome. Is anyone else having this issue? If so, how was it solved? I tried searching around and still didn't find a definitive answer so I really appreciated all the feedback that everyone has to give.

Disclosure:  I received these laptops from Lenovo as part of their advocacy program, so huge thanks to the folks over at Lenovo. I don't receive compensation for my review, and as always, all opinions are my own.

The ThinkPad X1 Yoga is first modern ThinkPad that I've ever owned.  I?ve been using Lenovo?s Ideapad lineup for a very long time, and while I?ve used ThinkPads in the past, the X1 Yoga will be my first personal ThinkPad that I own.  So how does it stack up to the Yoga 910?  Let?s find out! I have the i7 UHD model of the Yoga 910 and the i5 FHD model of the ThinkPad X1 Yoga.  I tried out the latest Yoga 920, but I haven?t tried the latest X1 Yoga yet? hopefully, I will!

Hardware & Design
Even though both laptops carry ?yoga? in their name, the hardware behind them is vastly different.  The ThinkPad X1 Yoga has the classic ThinkPad black design, which is made of a carbon-fiber hybrid for the top cover and a magnesium-PPS hybrid for the bottom cover.  The Yoga 910 has a similar design from the Lenovo?s Yoga lineup, with an aluminum build throughout.

The ThinkPad only comes in two colors: classic black and silver; whereas the Yoga has a whole suite of colors to choose from, such as silver, copper, bronze, and even a few exclusive designs, such as the Vibe designs for the Yoga 920 and the Star Wars themed designs for the Yoga 910.

I have a S3 Yoga 14 with i5-4210U Haswell CPU & GeForce 840M (Model# 20DM000VUS). I've searched and searched for any solution to upgrade the memory to 16GB, but seems only the Broadwell version can...so I'm stuck with 8GB.  I already upgraded to a 1TB Evo 850 SSD which did boost overall speed a lot, but running out of memory all the time is driving me nuts. So my question is, is it possible to swap out the whole motherboard to a i5-5200U Broadwell version without any HW/SW conflict issues so I could upgrade to 16GB?  Or can you only swap for the exact same MB?  It'd be a lot cheaper than buying a whole new Yoga w/dedicated graphics such as the P40 and way less hassle as long as I wouldn't need to reinstall Windows and everything. Thanks!
