I have been using this laptop for the past three years as a university student. Everything was great and worked fine, but the keyboard start acting up. The only problem is the physcial keyboard lagging whenever typing. This has happen twice then it stop happening one day and now it is happening again. What i try and work is plugging a wireless keyboard or USB connected keyboard and works fine without any stutter or lag when typing normally (fast). Tried solutions: Turn on/off fitler key.Reset and reinstall OS Windows 10Optimize/Defrag SSD Reinstall and Uninstall PS/2 Keyboard software.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

Hello , I bought my Yoga 3 14 80JH one year ago .. it was working fine until I upgraded it from 8.1 to 10 then the bugs started to appeared .. Then I formated my lap with windows 10 original one .. The problem is that there are no drivers for my lap >>!! every time I tried to search the same page is shown says " sorry this product is no longer available " ..!! or  the page below shown  https://support.lenovo.com/error.html?code=5b6c4585fb4b195473fb1feae0eff3b7&cb=%2fsa%2far%2fproducts... MY laptop still under the warrnty !! how they stopped the support ? How can I download the drivers ? one more thing, unfortunatly during the format I deleted all the partitions and all the recovery removed .. so I lost my original windows and the key .. now I'm using another key for windows 10 .. is there any way to restore the original one ? Regards,

In this second post I am sharing the configuration to use with Notebook Fan Control software (probably some of you already know about this software if you hate the noise which fans of this laptop are able to do!). I added of course some considerations I noticed in preparing this config.Here we are... Yoga 3 1470 80JH using Windows 10 and NBFC 1.4.2.I appreciated a lot the work done by Mr. Cheeze but I found it incomplete, so I basically investigated the issue a bit more.I did not open the notebook but I found online that it is equipped with 2 fans. So, first step was adding the 2nd fan. Then I started to investigate if we can effectively control the fans and the answer is NO, but we can play a bit to force them to have a behavior. My target was only one: REDUCE the FANS NOISE and consequently their speed, because I think that this laptop is almost able to work in fanless mode (and believe me I stress it a lot, especially in terms of multitasking). Before showing my personal code to be used in NBFC I am giving you some information I retrieved by the Read&Write software (32bit version works well).?When Fans starts HEX values show up at position 6 and 254. These are the 2 actual speed values of the fans.?The target values (so where you have to write the desired fans speed) are in position 86 and 176. Hello guys, well recently I upgrade my ram computer from 4GB to 8GB but there's a little issue the ram it's not running at the correct DRAM frequency, the RAM comes with 1600 MHz but only works at 800 MHz, I try to fix that in BIOS but there's nothing I can change, like frequency, voltages, etc.

Today I replaced the thermal compound (repasted) on my CPU/GPU cooler heat sink of my Yoga 3-1470 with i5-5200U (no dedicated graphics card) and there are the results: Before repaste: There you can see (orange line) how my CPU throttling. Max temps are reaching 76°C. After repaste:No throttling, max temps at 63°C average 60°C, constant fan noise. Here only compared graphs:To sum up my results, I gained a -13°C lower temps at the CPU full load 10 minutes stress test, have no throttling and especially constant and quieter fan noise when watching films or doing office work. Hi all, on June 2017 (around 3 months and half ago) I bought a Lenovo Yoga 510-14AST Laptop (ideapad) - Type 80S9 - Model 80S9000MIX.I immediately saw a huge slowness but I didn't have a good chance to deep dive the issue.In the last couple of weeks I investigated and found that when launching any of the installed applications (even just the browsers MS Edge or Chrome) the CPU and Hard Disk reach immediately 100% of occupation from Task Manager.I asked to the Lenovo Support guys and they suggested me to try One Key Recovery.I did it and unfortunately it didn't solve.Now the Laptop is reset with factory defaults but even just launching "Lenovo Companion" app cause cpu and hd to move quickly to 100%.The laptop is completely unusable and I'm quite disappointed because the performances are so poor like a Netbook with Intel Atom cpu.I contacted again Lenovo and they told me to send it for technical assistance.I will do it but I would ask if someone that has bought the same model experienced the same.My idea is to ask a replacement with another Lenovo model more performant (paying the difference if needed).Do you think it would a reasonable request?Thanks a lot for al your collaborationBest regardsFabio

Hello, I have a Lenovo Yoga 3-1470 64-bit, which was originally windows 8. After updating to windows 10, the audio (Conexant HD Audio) starts to have some problems, such as the need to keep restarting my laptop to get the audio back. Recently it has gotten worse, hence I decided to uninstall the Conexant HD Audio driver from my device manager, with the hope that I can reinstall the updated windows 10 Conexant HD Audio driver. But after uninstalling, I found out that I cannot reinstall it back. The device driver installation wizard will only install for 2 - 3%, then a messagebox ERROR will appear stating that "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the device for this driver." I have tried installing windows 8 and 10 versions of the Conexant HD Audio Drivers, but they do not work. Currently, my audio isn't working anymore. Can anyone help me, Thank you very much.

I am a very frustrated and angry customer at the moment as i keep running into Road Block and unacceptable answers.  This issue is enough to cause me to never buy another Lenovo laptop or any laptop at Best Buy!I bought my computer in July and in September i noticed a key had popped off-  the "< ," key next to the M key.  I have used the key board only when i was setting up-  now at my office and at customers i set it in downward dog mode ;-) and use a blue tooth key board.    So it is not from use that it broke.   I took the laptop into BEST BUY and was told that the key was missing a metal part on the back so they could not fix it onsite-  i would have to send it in and be without my laptop for a week to 10 days - unacceptable -  this was a month or more ago. I searched on the LENOVO website and could not find a way to purchase a single or the entire set of Keys!  I am self employed as a software consultant.   My life is pretty busy and i finally decided today to bite the bullet and ask for a call from Lenovo support.  Again i am told the only way to fix this is to send my laptop in for a repair.  I asked to just be able to buy a KEY - i am told that well they do not sell individual keys - they would replace the entire keyboard!  So sell me the keyboard and or send me one an i will take into best buy to have them replace it while i wait.  They cannot do that.   I live...  i have searched through the forums and have not found a decent solution for this problem.  When I power on my laptop from off, or wake it from sleep, I will randomly lose functionality to either the Touch Screen, or both the Keyboard and Trackpad, or at other times I will lose functionality to all three.  Other times all three regain functionality and work perfectly fine until the next time it sleeps or powers off.  I see the keyboard and trackpad in Device Manager at all times, even when they don't function, on the other hand, the touch screen with swing in and out of Device Manager, The touch screen works 100% of the time it shows in Device Manager, and fails to function 100% of the time it does not show.   Any Ideas Why?

I own a Lenovo Yoga 3 Model 80JH running on Windows 10 (64bit).Whenever I boot up the laptop to the log-in page I see a network icon with an x icon. Which means that the laptop cannot connect to the internet.I checked the network adapter in device manager and the wifi adapter is missing (Broadcom 802.11ac Network Adapter). How to fix this issue? I restarted my laptop 5 times then suddenly the network icon is OK. Are there any driver updates for this?

Sound was working when I went to bed, in the morning it wasn't.  Popup on speaker icon in system tray says "no audio output device is installed." Updated all drivers using iObit Driver scanner.  When that didn't find an audio adapter I rand the driver scanner on the Lenovo support site and it said no new drivers were needed.  Ran recovery from the startup and chose option to completely wipe the hard drive, files, progrmas etc. and install Windows 10 to factory settings - still no sound adapter. Saw a similar forum post with a link to a Reatek driver so installed it - no change.  Also followed instructions to uninstall sound in device manager but it wasn't there to uninstall. Ran Lenovo diagnostics from support site and it says there are no hardware problems and it sees sound adapter. I'm stumped. Any suggestions?

Hi,   i have posted before on this subject. I purchased the Lenovo yoga 500 Laptop model 80N5 , serial number R9OG44P3  but  the 23/10/15 with a year?s warranty,  but the warranty on this machine started 5/6/2015 . The Laptop is hardly used, I ran some updates which worked fine, then it shut down and wouldn't power up.I have had it looked at by 2 independant companies who have said that the power brick  caused a burnt chip on the motherboard and that a power suge could have done it!  I was under the impression that the Power brick has built in surge protector and woulnt have gone as far as the unit to damage the motherboard! i have been told by the company that i bougth it from it was negligence by me that has caused the unit to malfunction . They want a report saying a manufactor fault then it will get replacced.I have seen on the Lenovo website recall for power cords and batteries, can you advise if my model is one of those and apart from that what else can i do .

heya i dont know if anyone has had this problem or whether anyone is able to help but i have a lenovo ideapad z580 model type 2151 core i5 3210m laptop that powers on, fan spins, led lights come on and screen lights up but nothing is displayed, no lenovo logo, no access to bios, nothing. if i use the nova key the blue menu pops up in the middle of the screen but if any of the options are selected the menu disappears and screen stays blank.

i have tried connecting to an external monitor and get nothing, i have reseated ram, swapped ram slots, reseated hard drive. tried it without a hard drive, taken out the cmos battery, taken out the battery and held down the power button for 60 seconds, tried it on just the ac adaptor, unplugged all peripherals i.e dvd drive, wifi card ect.

if i press ctrl alt delete computer restarts but still the blank screen, ive seen many posts and forums that describe a display that black as in doesnt turn on but mine is on, i can see the light switch on when i press the power button.

any help anyone could give me would be grately appreciated.

Dear, I'm really disappointed with Lenovo. I bought a Lenovo Yoga 3 1470 two years ago by Amazon. After 15 days, impossible to start the laptop. Fortunately, Amazon sent me a new one. Few days ago, impossible to start again the laptop. No charge, the charge led doesn't work, nothing happens... I bought a new adpater to Amazon but unfortuntely, nothing happened with the new one, no charge led, no start, nothing... I tried to remove the battery, push on power button during 30 seconds, replug the battery and start but the same nothing happened. No warrantly...Do you have an idea? To start, I have seen the thread about a high pitched noise issue with this device's fan, and I don't think my problem is the same one. I have an ongoing issue with my Yoga 3 (full specs below), where for most of the time that the fan is spinning, it makes a loud grinding noise as if there's something stuck in the fan or the blade is off balance. I've only had the laptop for six months and it wasn't a problem when I bought it - it's developed since. The fan still seems to cool the laptop properly, and I've had no warnings from the device, but it's audible in quieter rooms and definitely isn't normal. I've installed the BIOS update that was recommended for a similar fan issue, and I've used OneKey Optimiser to run the fan cleaning tool several times - nothing has changed so far. I'm not sure what to do next. Should I attempt to open the machine and clean the fan unit with compressed air/investigate further, or should I contact someone about a repair? Thanks Aaron

As what you have already described , seems that you have done what is needed fro the fan noise issue. 
Noting that the issue is mechanical in nature , please give tech support a call for the needed service . 
No need to open the chassis for further steps not to invalidate the seal / warranty and have the tech run further check.
 
You can however run Lenovo Solution Center for the hardware test just to check on other parts that can also be affected and likewise temperature check at the moment of the noise for baseline data.

My Lenovo was purchased back in 2015, so the warrenty is expired. Still, up until recently the touchscreen had been working fine. Now, no matter what mode it is in, it doesn't detect my touch. I have gone through every Google-searched solution I could find, none have worked.I have gone to device manager, checked the drivers for updates (they are up to date) but the window doesnt allow me to Disable/Enable the driver. I've used the lenovo website, the companion app and my windows control panel to check for updates but no changes to the touch screen. Running Windows 10 (64x) Solutions, or links to other form posts are appreciated.

Hello, When I am charging my laptop, sometimes it charge and not. Its really trouble me when the battery reached less than 10%, then I plug in power, the Battery Low Notification always showed up (because the charging is intermittent). I've tried several ways which are told by this forum, like instal new BIOS (the latest on internet), or uninstal-instal battery driver on Hardware Manager, but it didnt work. I affraid if this continously happen, it will affect my battery function. Btw, I am using windows 8.1.Have any thoughts to fix that?Or maybe its a problem in the mechanic? Best regards.

Hi, yestarday I was using my laptop with several opened applications and 1 hangouts video call active.Well, the CPU has decided to freeze at 0.5 GHz due to the generated heat. The laptop of course became unusable, so I closed everything and restarted the system. Once the reboot was completed I noticed that frequency was still at 0.5 GHz. Then I ran an Ubuntu live usb and I checked the CPU: again, still at 0.5GHz. I came back to Windows 10, I made a bit of research and I used ThrottleStop. I unticked the BD Prochot and then the laptop came back to life with frequency at 2.9 GHz (for the sake of precision it works even without turning on Throttle stop...you only need to launch the app and untick the prochot).Now, the problem is that I can use the laptop with all its capabilities only after I run Throttle stop. In all the other cases, even when I boot my laptop, frequency is at 0.5 GHz (and you understand it is working at low frequency because it lags a lot). Investigating a bit, I found that only motherboard replacement can fix this issue.....really? What do you think? Do you any kind of solution?

Wondering if anyone can assist.  Upgraded to Windows 10 a few months ago and the touch screen was working fine and within the last month it stopped functioning.  I have googled many help topics, and many suggest that I access my Device manager and click on the Human Interface Devices section find  HID-compliant touch screen.  The only problem is the HID-compliant touch screen is not listed as an option.  Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this issue?

Hi there! Need help. Obviously. Hope people still look at this fourm... I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 1470 Laptop. Its...a few years old AND it is out of warrenty (so please no recommendations for sending it into Lenovo Repair Service). It is running the Windows 10 update, though it initally came with Windows 8.1  A few days ago I factory reset the computer to wipe it of all files and such. When the reset was finished it updated and reloaded itself with Windows 10. Everything seemed fine at first... HOWEVER, the touch screen is not responding to anything. I can fold the laptop into tablet mode, the physical keyboard will shut off but it will not respond to touches by any means. The Pen & Touch information in windows settings says that Pen & Touch are not available for this device. I have checked the drivers and the HID-Compliant Driver is NOT THERE (it was at first but it was greyed out and gave me a code 45).  Tent mode also doesn't work. I can flip the computer over, and Auto -Rotate will appear on the screen but the screen never flips. I have searched high and low on Google and Lenovo but perhaps I am missing something, a driver update or ...anything. I bought my laptop in 2015 and unwarranted, I'd like some help to get full functionality back into my laptop. While the subject states my problem, I do have some ways of getting use out of the computer:It can turn on if the battery is fully drained and after the computer is plugged in; it takes 8 days to drain. [Pressing and holding the power button only results in the PC flashing its backlit keyboard.] The battery can recharge and the PC can run on battery just as long the PC does not shut down, go to sleep, or the lid closes.Battery removal with the PC plugged in: the PC can always turn on, but when closing the lid or shutting it off, the power cord has to be unplugged and plugged back in.Additional computer information:-Windows 8.1 with updates-Installed BIOS update and Windows hotfix update from Lenovo.com

Using the part number for your keyboard on your search would allow you to find compatible and available keyboard in your location faster . You may use the parts lookup page to get it (just keep your serial number confidential) that would show your Machine model number and likewise FRU part number for your keyboard.

You may use the parts lookup page to get it (just keep your serial number confidential) that would show your Machine model number and likewise FRU part number for your keyboard.

After the Windows 10 April 2018 update, my Lenovo Yoga 3 14 laptop is not starting immediately. It's not boot-up delay, it's a device start-up delay like after pressing the power button, just keyboard back light blinks once and nothing will happen and it's taking 35 to 40 seconds (earlier it's 1 to 3 seconds) after pressing the power button to show Lenovo UEFI screen along with Windows loading animation (this boot-up is quick like earlier versions about 5 to 7 seconds). Re-installed the complete OS (clean install) and re-installed the BIOS (Version BACNA0WW and BIOS date 07/15/2016). But nothing helps. Changed to earlier version of windows with clean install (the one with creators update, but issue not resolved.) Formatted complete drive and cleared all partitions (including OEM) and installed on a fresh partition, re-flashed BIOS, but nothing helps. Later I thought about hardware issue. Opened laptop, removed display connector, cleaned and attached, but issue not resolved. So, it's not a new Windows issue and It might be a problem with BIOS and it needs to be updated. Since my laptop is mote than 3 years old, Lenovo probably don't bother about updating this BIOS. Any solution that I missed?Thanks in advance.

I am having a hard time finding the exact connector for my keyboard. It seems that this very model I am using (z30-a-1d2) has been discontinued. Most google search results I get refer to portege z30. The keyboard on z30 portege seem almost identical to my model, except that I cannot be sure about the connector. Could somebody please help with this?

Hi! I bought this one 2  days ago and I'm amazed how bad the keyboard is. Just check the video:https://youtu.be/n4oN6H3x2nQThe keyboard actually doesn't match the photos: enter key is weird form and there are two \ keys. Space key sticks depending on which part of it you click. It also makes a weird noise. Definitely not the quality you expect from a premium model. I would actually be happy to return it, but I'm in another country for a while so looks like I'm in trouble. This is the second Yoga I have, but seems that I will never buy a Lenovo again.

Yeah, you see a lot of complaings about those keyboards, they are trying to make them too thin in you ask me. I would return it if you do not like it, even if you have to pay shipping.   The Thinkpad line have much better keyboards, and in my opionion are far more durable too.  Good Luck,

I have an old W500 Lenovo Thinkpad running Windows 7, Service pack 1. I have 4 GB of RAM. This machine was running well until lately, when virtually all typing is lagging, selection by clicking and double clicking doesn't seem to work right, and even selecting by dragging the cursor doesn't work well.
 
I've run scans using Avira and Spybot in safe mode. Check disk, sfc, defrag, etc. Still nothing. I don't think it was software or hardware that I added, since I really haven't added anything much during this time.
 
Suggestions for my next step, please?

After upgrade to Windows 10 my screen continously flickers.  Importanct Note: the screen flickering issue and associated  BIOS update solution in the support forum is for Yoga 3 pro 1370  and cannot be applied to Yoga 3 1470 (i tried to update the BIOS);  Troubleshooting Done - No Change- Still screen flickers madly:  BIOS Update - Update BIOS to bacn99ww; (Did Lenovo forget to add the screen flickering resolution to this BIOS update to Yoga 3 1470 Model?)Display Driver Updated : firstly with driver on lenovo page and then the latest one from Intel Site. Changed the display and Battery Setting.tried everyting defined in the Yoga3 Pro screen flickeing topic.  Nothing works. It work fine with external connected monitors, but can't carry a monitor everywhere this is now a massive nuisance.  Can any of the expert here provide some help and assistance.

Ok...I'm fixing a friend's computer (see log below) and he, just started about a week ago, not being able to type on Internet Explorer...but it works with any other software application AND it works with AOL IM.

I thought it might be a filled cache....so I cleared that and history, cookies, etc....still no go. I thought it might be Internet Explorer, so I downloaded Netscape....same thing happens. I went to Microsoft's website and looked for windows XP updates...still same problem.

This just started happening a week ago.....any thoughts? I was thinking maybe needs updated keyboard drivers or something???

Ok I have a Dell Inspirion 1420 I bought last year with Vista & 2GB's of RAM and recently whenever I have iTunes playing and I'm surfing the web if I open more than one webpage my music starts to lag and is choppy. This has never happened before as I used to listen to music and go on multiple websites with no problem. I noticed my physical memory usage is always at 1GB or more while computer usage is usually well below 50%.
